Extensive and entertaining content that will delight fans of alternative histories in particular.
  2. Götterdämmerung is German for “twilight of the gods” – the Ragnarök of Norse mythology. Far from being the end, however, this DLC breathes a lot of new life into Hearts of Iron 4 after some more disappointing expansions. Though it comes at a steep price – $24.99 USD – this is very much a return to form for Paradox, providing massive replayability and detail to one of the most pivotal nations in the setting and some of its close neighbors. Both special projects and raids are neat systems that can be expanded in the future and they more tightly connect the map with the research and army screens we look at so often.

Hearts of Iron IV: Götterdämmerung is a damned solid expansion pack. Bringing in a whole collection of new features and some much needed refreshes for nations that have long been needing them. Of the basis of the new focus trees alone I'd say this was a worth while buy. The new gameplay features are neat, but I don't think they feel as essential or interesting as they should be.
