This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished playing this campaign yesterday, but I wanted to wait a day before writing this review to make sure my analysis was more grounded. I was massively disappointed in this campaign. The only thing about the experience that makes it salvageable is the core gunplay. It's very polished, and while some weapons are clearly better than others each has a niche it can be useful for.

Moving on to the shortcomings. The story is bland and uninteresting. The writers clearly have no idea how to push the story forward, and it becomes more apparent the longer you play. There is a huge reliance on nostalgia and annoying holograms to fill in the blanks for the story when those blanks desperately needed more screen time than what was actually focused on. Killing Cortana offscreen was incredibly dumb, since it wastes all the time spent building up to her conquest during Halo 5. The villain of the story satisfies every cliche you can think of. 95% of his screen time is spent gloating to the Chief about how he has won and that he is big and tough because he beat the UNSC. It gets old very fast.

Moving on to the level/world design: it's not that great. Sure, it LOOKS great and the world the Chief explores looks very polished (except for the massive frame drops you'll experience; seriously, the game dropped below 30 FPS at times while I was playing), but there's no substance to anything. You spend way too much of your time just walking from place to place, and the interiors you explore are uninspiring and copy-pasted all throughout the game. There were several times where I wasn't even sure if I was going in the right direction because everything looks the same (despite using the navigation tool). Most of the side activities boil down to 'go to this place and kill this enemy' which is exactly what you do in the main story, so it just comes off as padding.

I could go on, but I think I've made my point. In the months leading up to this game's release I was so excited to play this campaign, but I mentally checked out around halfway through and only finished it because I spent $60 and wanted some form of closure however unsatisfying it was. If you haven't bought this game, i strongly recommend waiting for a price drop or getting it through Xbox game pass so you don't have to pay full price for it. This game is incomplete and unsatisfactory, and it is not worth the price tag.

Halo was my one of the most anticipated games because of the hype around the launch. TL;DR If you like open world games like the ones Ubisoft makes then you will probably really like this, as it is a very good addition to that genre. If you're a long-time Halo fan hoping for a return to form than you may be disappointed.

I genuinely did enjoy a lot of my time with Halo Infinite, but the moment I realized I was about to start the final mission of the game I realized that this game was never going to capture the essence of the series it claimed it would, honestly I don't think they were ever trying to.

Halo Infinite is a step up from 343's last title, but at the end of the day it still falls victim to all of the studio's shortcomings; and despite the return of the classic artstyle, this is arguably the least "Halo-like" game in the series.

Every installment in this series since Reach has strayed further away from the original formula, which makes sense since the games are now being made by different creatives and developers. However this game's jump to the Open World format, along with many different gameplay and direction decisions takes it beyond just a different take on the series and ultimately makes it feel more like its own IP, vaguely inspired by Halo.

A common criticism I've had with Post Bungie halo games is that it feels like the developers are overthinking which direction to take them. In my opinion, Halo's greatest strength has always come from being accessible yet rewarding experience; feeling immediately comprehensible for new players yet having the mechanical depth to still have a pretty high skill ceiling (In both single and Multiplayer). Halo Infinite, however, Has so many mechanics and systems at play that, while not overwhelming, that sense of accessibility feels lost. With the entire game world being saturated with specific damage-type explosive barrels and identical bases to capture and operate; then populated with so many variants of the same enemy that it's hard to tell which rank each variant is, the game effectively trades all immersion for constant reminders that the skill ceiling exists and if you're new you know how bad you are.

The core gameplay is fun, but almost completely devoid of Halo's key elements. Every weapon has hard scoping, sprinting and Doom Eternal style movement mechanics are necessary to get around and battle tougher enemies, You can refill an alien weapon's ammo without finding a new one, and the actual tradeoffs between damage types has been minimized, with all weapons, even automatic and plasma guns doing head-shot damage. All these little changes don't need to be bad on their own, but they add up and ultimately make the gameplay feel too generic and like anything else you'd get from any other Triple A studio these days.

Even the actual way the Universe is explored through the game feels lacking. In previous games each faction felt distinctive in their appearance and weapons, but in Infinite not only is there very little visual identity between the weapons of each faction, but enemies will some-what frequently use UNSC weapons against you, making the banished feel far less distinctive as an enemy than the covenant did. All this alongside all weapons having headshot damage and reloading makes them all feel too similar.

The Story and campaign rivals Halo 5 in narrative failure. The story isn't nearly as frustrating to sit through, but it is arguably worse in that nothing really happens, yet plot-lines and characters are buried so that they can't even be revisited. Without spoiling anything, very few characters from previous games appear in Infinite, the closest we get to representation from any pre-existing supporting cast are some collectable audio files. Worse yet, major storylines are entirely resolved off-screen, while the main campaign takes the player through dull objective after dull objective, with actually essential information to the plot being deeply confusing and largely reliant on the player collecting hidden audio files to make even a little sense.

All around Halo Infinite is a perfectly fine open world action game; but as a Halo game it fails spectacularly, and strongly suggests the devs at 343 would be more comfortable making their own IP than trying to modernize Halo. While as a longtime fan I have almost nothing positive to say about it, I won't rate this any lower than a 7 because the game does very little "wrong" from an independent design perspective. It merely fails to revive the franchise it promised it would.

It honestly feels like an indie game, someone streched for 20 hours. Every single goal in storyline is copypasted couple of items for no reason other than just to stretch the game. All the magazines giving it 9 or 10, all the people review bombing it... think a little. If it wasn't marked as Halo, if it was about some faceless John... would you really find this game 10/10? REALLY?
No, it would just be another mediocre shooter. Sorry.

But glad I loaded the game and played it cause I would have actually missed the best iteration of Halo Multiplayer by 343i and fear not about the microtransactions and challenges, it is getting tweaked hard and by next month we will be seeing what 343i has in store for us.

I have been playing the Halo series since Halo 2 came out and though I look back on 1, 2, 3 and Reach very fondly, 4 and 5 (though enjoyable) wasn't hooking me like the other games, don't get me wrong, it was still a blast to play but it just didn't have that same effect as the original trilogy and Reach. However I was quite hyped for Infinite and I am very much impressed with the game.I have been playing the Halo series since Halo 2 came out and though I look back on 1, 2, 3 and Reach very fondly, 4 and 5 (though enjoyable) wasn't hooking me like the other games, don't get me wrong, it was still a blast to play but it just didn't have that same effect as the original trilogy and Reach. However I was quite hyped for Infinite and I am very much impressed with the game.

Story - Halo has a very deep story with lots of lore found in all forms of media from games, to shows, to novels, to comics, trying to keep up to date with everything can be quite difficult. The story here does follow a very simple path from start to finish which is great, but among it is a lot of detail that can be found, and audio logs are scattered everywhere to add to the story. My only real concern comes from what happened after 5, I could be wrong but I feel like I was missing parts of what happened, and that Infinite tried to explain some of it, but I was a little confused at points. It may be that some of the story after 5 was explained in Halo Wars 2 or in something else, but hard for me to say. I felt caught up by the end for the most part, just felt a little confusing at first.

Graphics - Some might say its a little dated but I have absolutely no issues with the look of the game, I played on my PC with settings cranked to as high as possible and I thought it looked gorgeous all the time, I didn't feel the game was lacking anywhere. Being out in the open world can be breathtaking at times, especially with the day and night cycle doing it's thing. Maybe not the prettiest game to some, but I loved it.

Gameplay - It feels very much like Halo, but more traditional Halo with some abilities thrown it that you can use throughout the campaign or multiplayer from a grapple hook to a deployable shield to sensor that reveals enemy locations, all of which could be upgraded as you play. You get a wide variety of weapons to play with, and not once did I ever feel I was completely returning to the weapons I was familiar with, in some situations I was using whatever I could get my hands on and trying to make the absolute best of it. 343 smashed this one out of the park, not one time did I feel bored with the shooting.

Campaign - We are moving into an open world game here and for the better I think, it changed the formula a bit which is nice for Halo as it has been going for so long. This may not appeal to everyone but if you are familiar with open world games, expect to see similar traits found in those, such as respawning enemies when returning to areas, a variety of points of interest you can go to, capturing outposts, finding upgrades around the map, its all here and I get sucked into map completion in games like this, and Halo Infinite was no different. I played on Heroic for my first run and felt the game was quite challenging, you cannot just run into enemy locations and expect to come out with your life and for the most part I felt the AI was quite smart. Grunts were typically not the brightest as you'd expect but I found Brutes charging at me, Jackals slowly creeping up on me to box me in, Elites shooting from afar only until I would get close and then try to take me down with a sword, very good stuff here. Overall I felt the campaign was a very positive experience and completing it in around 20-23 hours was not a drag at all.

Multiplayer - I have only played the Multiplayer prior to the full game release so I am not entirely sure if anything else was added but there was Quick Play, Big Team Battle and Ranked modes, all of which you could not not choose your specific mode to play like Team Slayer, Swat, Capture the Flag etc, not sure if this has since changed but I would've like that option to choose. I am not huge into multiplayer but I loved my time with it here. it feels completely different to how I felt with Halo 4 and 5, this one felt more like I remember from 3 and Reach. Maps have a good amount of variety and all weapons from the campaign were in here too. The progression system was lacking a bit, you have a levelling system, as you level you gain access to certain rewards but it mostly seems littered with xp boosts, challenge swaps, player banners etc while a few are armour pieces, I know that this will be improved over time but it does feel like this is lacking and that they want you to spend real money for the better stuff. I hope they change this over time. Also making it so you earn xp just from playing games and not just from doing challenges would be nice too. It has some growing to do but still good!

Music - A very good chunk of classics and new here, you will not be disappointed!

Final Rating - There is so much more I could say about this game but 5000 max character limit. I don't feel its my game of the year but I can assure you its close to the top of the list. 343 has given us a few good Halo games, but this one is definitely a huge improvement and feels familiar yet fresh. Play it!

The actual gameplay is great. Short of that, the game is disappointing. Campaign is missing all the set pieces that made halo great, and the story is a confusing jumble. Multiplayer is structured around buying in game currency for cosmetics, and is lacking some really basic game modes. As a halo player since the original, im worried about the direction the series has taken.

The most disappointing part of Halo Infinite is how 343 decided to handle progression in multiplayer. It is clearly the focus on milking the players for more money instead of awarding us with customization items for being good at the game. This will leave a lot of the Original Halo Trilogy fans with a bad taste in our mouths. Halo was supposed to be different than Fortnite, Warzone and Apex Legends and not only that but 343 did a really bad job at monetizing like the mentioned Battle Royales.

I think this will be talked about a lot with the Post Release Development team and hopefully they will find a better solution than a 'Battlepass' and over priced customization items.

    2. Plot - The story is weak to say the least. The characters and plots from the previous two are games are basically ignored, and it boils down to the same old "stop the ring from firing". And how does 343 rectify Cortana's actions in Halo 5? She, the galaxy spanning ruler who is in control of the Guardians, is somehow killed by Atriox (never explained how) and then replaced with a new Cortana. If that isn't the definition of lazy writing, I don't know what is. The whole story should have been a small DLC.

    Multiplayer: Pretty good, nothing special.
Campaign: Fun gameplay, story is kinda meh, characters are good, openworld is beatiful, repetitive and empty.
Performance: AWFUL. My RTX3070 can barely get 60fps on High settings 1440p, game crashes almost every time i play it.

Also: No Ray Tracing or DLSS? Is this supposed to be a "next-gen' game?

To kick this off Halo infinite is one the most fun games I've ever played in a long time Beating Call of duty, battlefield, RB6, Splitgate, and close to beating Apex Legends. Variety of classic and re-vamped weapons. The Spartan customization is really fun giving us all sorts of Lore-friendly Armors from the spartan programs respectively so creating my own spartan is an amazing experience bringing something original but close to home like in Halo Reach. Armor, weapons, and vehicle coatings are also very important which add a deeper level of customization to the game which is a big plus for me compared to the regular color picker from previous installations. music is kick-ass and adds a lot to the immersive experience to wrap up fun 10/10 from casuals to sweats everyone CAN HAVE FUN IN THIS GAME. 5/5

    NO SPOILERS
The campaign is really different this time around giving you the main antagonist sort of but at the same time you're facing an entire enemy fleet, John 117 feels ALIVE no more green robo killing machine giving you answers for things in the past games and the lore but also inviting the new players into the franchise linear but not but also includes allottt of exploration sort of like Gears of War 5 this installment of the campaign really ties you into who the master chief really is 4/5

it ties you in direct y with the story leaving you satisfied but also wanting more

Polish of the game has been NIGHT AND DAY Comparing the 2019/2020 videos and the early tech test builds this game has come a longggg way Graphically from Foilage, God Rays, Shadows + lighting, and armor materials EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REVAMPED and built to look beautifully ESPECIALLY WITH RTX ON the game just looks incredible finessing a HALO art style AT THE SAME time no too cartoony, not over-detailed but polished in "HALO" just looking at it you KNOW it's a halo game comparing this to halo 5 and 4 the art styles were not there truthfully but yall delivered 5/5 343

The game mechanics are actually really solid we have great movement, from sliding to jumping and nothing really to complain about the Grapple hook feels just at home taking mechanics of momentum from the titan fall/ apex series which many of us are familiar with. the return of gadgets and notabilities was a great move that keeps the game BALANCED and allows the tables to be turned on either side. the only thing many people seem to dislike is the melee but it just seems reminiscent of Halo 3 melee no comments on this. Dropping weapons, ping system, Momentum throwing the flag or the oddball, and pretty much everything works well grenades feel a bit extra bouncy in this installation but its something to get a bit used to overall 4/5

Multip[layer content such as Item shop and game event modes +battle pass can be pretty lackluster the item shop is overpriced IMO but it is a free game ...so understandable. the lack of in-game currency in the battle pass actually gets me a bit ticked off and the weekly rewards arent all the way there yet 1 week it's good the next its garbo town emblem cosmetic on the other hand the battle pass is worth every $1 as IT NEVER EXPIRES and all the cosmetics are new and old classics we know and love from halo 3, reach and even some 4 and 5 favorites never the less overpricing of the item shop is still an issue and lack of events just can create a sad rotation of oddball , slayer and CTF

thank you for reading my HONEST REVIEW OF THE GAme I racked up 100+ hours total so far and am tier 56 of the bp sorry for a misspelling but this is almost maxed out character review

SPECIAL NOTE: ALL Haters that Hate the game FOR NO REASON other than it's a Microsoft product GROW UP do us all the favor and Stop hating something just cause it the opposition to you're preferred platform is wrong and childish applaud the opposition for great competition.

The legendary difficulty is definitely difficult, but for the wrong reasons.

    - Vehicle damage is inconsistent. It takes you two years to blow up an enemy vehicle for turret, but it takes the enemy 2 shots.

    - Enemies will know exactly where you all at all times, even if you use the cloak thruster. Don't mod thrusters, the cloak doesn't even work.

    - Enemies will land absolutely insane shots. Ravager shots from 2 football fields away with pointblank accuracy while you're behind cover.

    - Incredibly shallow RPG elements. They shouldn't of even had a mod upgrade system.

    - Most animations are way too slow. It takes 10 seconds to enter a turret or vehicle, you will be dead before you even fire a shot. Same with weapon swapping. Often times the weapon swap won't even work. Vehicles are basically almost not even worth using on legendary.

    - VERY mundane and average story.

    2. No dedicated fullscreen, so you need to choose between windowed mode or borderless. There's also no way for you to alter the internal resolution, so you're forced to either use resolution scaling or change the resolution of the monitor itself.
    3. The open world feels empty and pointless, since everything looks the same everywhere.
    4. Only some of the collectibles are marked on the map after clearing outposts, so you'll be looking for needles in a haystack or be forced to use a walkthrough if you want to find the rest of them.
    5. Some of the collectibles are located in mission areas you can't return to, and since there's also no way to replay missions after they're finished, you're permanently locked out of collecting these items (and thus also 100%ing the game) unless you get them all the first time you play these missions.
    6. Collectibles you've already picked up still show on the map. You can barely tell them apart from uncollected ones, and there's no way to filter which ones to show.
    7. Boring story.
    8. No co-op.
    9. Awful enemy design. The antagonists look like some sort of space gorillas, with little to no variation from individual to individual, and they all have the same burly voice.
    10. Bullet sponge enemies. You'll have to unload a whole stream of shots into their unarmored heads for them to die, and even more if you're hitting armor or anywhere else on the body.
    11. Enemies can kill you in one hit from full HP even on lower difficulties, forcing you to clear out an entire area all over again.
    12. You randomly fall through the ground of the game world and die. This has happened to me on several occasions, usually when I'm using a special ability.

I'll update this review if I notice anything else.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

    - Open-World well done
    - Gameplay/Gunplay extraordinary (Doom Eternal quality)
    - No bugs, glitches, crashes (running on 5950x + 3090 on an NVME, so it's highend - lower speccs reportedly lead to performance issues, you might want to wait until that is fixed with a patch)
    - The world is full of details to various franchises and there are a load of references to older Halos
    - The story is fun and well done (have not yet finished the game, but currently are in the last chapter)
    - The graphics are amazing. Finally, a Halo with 2021 graphics. The details are amazing. On a 4K OLED TV... glorious. Simply glorious.
    - The sound is also well-made, if you can play this on a dedicated surround sound setup - DEW IT!

It's just a shame that this game does not have coop at launch, I would love to play this campaign with friends. That's why I will only give 9, not 10 stars.

Overall amazing game, one complaint tho, i wish Weapon was more naked, like Cortana in Halo 4, just for that true Halo experience, but overall it's great. And tbh Weapon makes up for it with her nice personality, she is really funny and likable and feels more human (irony) than some female characters in some Sony games, that's how you write female characters, Naughty Dog should take notes.

I would also like to point out that YES, the multiplayer is content dry and the progression is easily the worst to have ever existed in the history of video games, and some of the levels have the classic three path layout such as "Live Fire" or "Streets". but some of the maps are very unique and play really well, like "Behemoth" or "Fragmentation" (which in my opinion is on track to being an S tier BTB map in the entire Halo Franchise). On top of that the gunplay really sticks out and you can almost always rack up a kill with just about anything (except maybe the disruptor, rabager, and plasma pistol, more on that in a minute). The multiplayer is really what stops Infinite from having a solid 10 in my opinion because the campaign almost entirely makes up for it. Ok let's get started:

    I. FRICKIN. LOVE. HALO INFINITE
I cannot TELL YOU how much I love this game; It's easily my favorite in the entire Halo series. The gameplay is fun and dynamic, the enemies are smart and cunning, the soundtrack is just god tier, and the story easily outplays Halo 2's in my opinion. Yes, I said it.
    Ok first thing: gameplay
Halo Infinite's gameplay rivals Combat Evolved's. An OVERWHELMING majority of the weapons in this game are viable and fun to shoot. The only exceptions I can think of are the disruptor, ravager (which way underpowered and needs a buff), the plasma pistol, and the spike grenade which really just serves the purpose of getting enemies to leave their cover for you to shoot. Everything else can be very nicely used to quickly and efficiently kill your enemies. Each enemy has its own purpose and interacts nicely with other classes. For example:
A shootout with 2 grunts, an elite, and a brute is gonna play SO MUCH DIFFERENTLY with 2 hunter, a jackal and a skimmer. All enemies have their own tactics and plans of attack and they can actually ADAPT depending on the situation. You will almost NEVER find an enemy just standing out in the open not moving and shooting you like a turret, unlike in CoD where all the enemies are just brain dead.
The level design is just so awesome, I've found so many neat little areas that could be used as a multiplayer map or that I would just LOVE to make something out of in Forge when that releases.
The soundtrack is also *really good* and adapts to what's going on. For example, if I'm out exploring or something, the music starts playing this adventurous theme kinda like "Perilous Journey" or "A walk in the woods" from CE (note that I said "kind of" not "exactly", I've yet to encounter these two music pieces in the game but I tend to hear stuff that remind of those music pieces). But then when I encounter a patrol or start a raid on an FOB, the music turns fast-paced and upbeat, like the main Halo theme.
I won't talk about talk about story because there are already like a zillion posts here that say the same thing: "its awesome, compelling and relatable characters, very attaching and immersive" (which is all true in my opinion).
Now I just want to say 3 things that bother me about the campaign, and it's very minor and can quickly be fixed by 343, I think. Idk Im not a game dev i have no clue how easy/hard it is to implement these:

    1. level design isn't great in the linear levels. It's fun but it does feel to some degree like sections are copied and pasted much like assault on the control room from CE.

    2. There is a lack of variety in the environments. The only ones there are pacific north west, fourunner and banished. While they all look awesome, it would have been better to have at least some biome variety like snow, desert, swamp etc.

3rd You never really get into a massive large scale vehicular battle like you did in halo 3 and I do miss that.

Ok thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, bye have fun playing Infinite!

I've mostly only played multiplayer, so I'll tell you about it first - it's pretty dynamic at the last minute, especially, but you need to get used to ttk, slow ttk is a FEATURE of the game, not a minus. horrible optimización en pc. como puede ser que esto funcione en una xbox one original y no en mi pc? donde todos los juegos que he probado del gamepass fucionan en alto o ultra a mas de 100fps.

jugando mediocremente a 50-60 fps puedo decir que la historia es enfadosa y predecible. los gráficos estériles y nada del otro mundo. jugabilidad copiada de otros shooters. lo recomiendo solo

Halo Infinite is a good game with a decent story and great gameplay. The game is mostly a 8 but I gave it a 7 for the bad pc port. The gameplay is by far the best aspect of the game with great gunplay and innovating features like upgrades, equipment, enemy AI, and main mission level design. The worst part about Halo Infinite campaign is the open world and how empty it is with all the side quest getting extremely repetitive. The multiplayer is phenomenal with great gunplay and use of equipment, the maps are good and the different types of weapons makes the sandbox stand pretty strong. The main issue with the multiplayer as the time of me writing this review is the lack of content and microtransactions. Overall Halo Infinite is a great step in the right direction for the Halo franchise, while the multiplayer needs some serious work in content and microtransactions, I'm pretty sure that 343 will be able to fix it. While wandering around was fun, the game didn't really get to me hooked until I had continued the campaign missions. The narrative took a slow but steady drawing of interest that eventually made me forget about the open world content. I went from playing a mission after I explored to going from mission to mission, unable to wait for the next story beat. The combination of great gameplay, and intriguing story had me enjoy every second of this game I have played. Even after I finished the campaign missions, I played for hours and hours on end. I couldn't have asked for a better Halo game. I just want to say thank you, 343, for giving us a campaign that has me excited for whatever you have planned next. Expand

Excellent return to form that kicks off a new saga. Feels much like Halo 1. A more personal story that gets rid of the overly bombastic scenes to be more grounded and personal. Open world is excellent with the grappling hook. Game is unique charm that is hard to explain but the gameplay loop is same halo that has been refined to a diamond.

I'm impressed by the AI which is really good. Graphics are nice without being awesome. But this game is boring, sad but true. Story isn't interessant, and as soon as you reach the open map, everything seems dull.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not even sure where to begin writing this review. There are just so many good things to talk about. I guess I'll start with the cinematics since the first thing we're introduced to is a phenomenal cutscence. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, even during gameplay. Beautiful game in that category. Since I mentioned gameplay I might as well talk about it. This campaign was a great joy to play, I loved every minute of it (well, I played on legendary and died a lot which was upsetting but that was my own fault). It was just so much fun to load up a razorback with Marines and go hunt the VIP targets or sabotage Banished operations with them. The dialogue between Marines was done very well and the Banished dialogue gave me plenty of chuckles. The driving felt a bit off at times, especially with the scorpion but it wasn't enough for me to quit playing, just a slight annoyance at the most. But something that was actually very pleasant was the music. The music synced up perfectly with the situation you were currently in, whether it be at a FOB, assaulting a Banished base, or in a more serious setting during a cinematic. The music absolutely blew me away, even during times when I was just walking through hallways or exploring an empty room, the music did an excellent job at setting the mood and really made me feel like I was in the moment. The atmosphere and tone were near perfection. Finally the story (minor spoilers maybe), probably the only reason this game doesn't get five stars from me. I understand damage control needed to be done after *cough* Halo 5 *cough* and I haven't listened to all of the audio logs yet as the open world is pretty large and I haven't found them all. But there were some parts that just seemed tedious. Why do I have to walk to the next room that's 20 feet away to get a power seed to power up a machine to unlock a door? I get that it was supposed to make it seem like the Banished were trying to slow us down, but they weren't trying very hard if that was the case. Just a minor inconvenience. And the second fight with Adjutant Resolution wasn't really necessary it seemed, I thought we had killed him in the first fight anyway. Besides the unnecessary steps or tiny little fetch quests, the characters in the story were phenomenal. Master Chief felt like Master Chief again, man of few words and felt like a war machine, like what he was created to be. But it was also nice to see him relate to Fernando Esparza when the pilot had a breakdown. Which brings me to character development. It was done so well in this game. In the beginning of the game the pilot was worried and scared and just looked hopeless, probably how we all would have felt if we were in his position. But at the end of the game he was joyful and happy and constantly smiling, probably because he realized they actually did have a chance with Master Chief around. The voice acting was top notch, it really helped paint a picture of the differences between the Banished (Escharum) and humanity (Master Chief). The banished were hothead and cocky as they had believed they already won, while humanity was calm and collected while they tried to figure out how to turn things around. In the end, I really enjoyed this campaign and went in expecting it to just be a hot pile of garbage as I've come to expect of Halo campaigns recently, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself getting lost in the open world or finding myself connecting with the story. An absolute gem. Expand

Xbox truly singlehandedly saved gaming in 2021, i'm not even joking. Imagine this November-December without Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite. All other shooters failed miserably. Forza Horizon 5 has amazing graphics and it's one of the best arcade-racing games of all time. Xbox Forever!

This game is going to be Legendary, because it's one of the first steps showing how powerful and great Xbox is. I bet 360 era will come again in 2022-2027, because not only Halo, Xbox also has Elder Scrolls and much more! PS5 truly dropped the ball this December. You are not giving anything to your fans to play in Christmas time? Damn, that's just sad.

A review to counter the review bomb. Silly kids wouldn't know a good game if it SLAPPED them in the face. It's good, play it, campaign is good, yes it's worth the price on PC. I paid 90$ for cyberpunk so paying 90$ for a good game I want more of hopefully counteracts the evil I did.

Halo Infinite is the best shooter of 2021. With much anticipation from the fans, 343 Industries brought a great multiplayer experience and a story as a love letter to the Halo series. With some bold innovations, the game pulls all the best from previous iterations and makes it into one of the best FPS games in recent history.

Halo Infinite was supposed to become a flagship title for “the most powerful console in the world,” but in reality we got an interlude of a story devoid of epic set pieces, a template for something greater that may or may not arrive in the future, an empty “open world” punctuated with interior design circa early 2000s. If not for the awesome shootouts, Master Chief should have been jettisoned back into space.

The new Halo game is far from flawless. There’s no co-op, even though there should be, and there’s a boring open world, even though there shouldn’t. The multiplayer feels unfinished as well. Still, at its core, it’s a solid story-driven shooter with a more-than-acceptable Cortana replacement.
