Aug 18, 2022A classic game! History is too cool, it's worth it for any age regardless of the time that passes!
-
Apr 10, 2022Charming dialogue and characters, however puzzles can be cheap, as the game design is kind of dated.
With a walkthrough, the shining parts of the game, environments, music, characters, can be thoroughly enjoyed -
Oct 30, 2021The puzzles are way way too random, illogical, convoluted. At first I was really digging the art style, writing, and atmosphere, then I got really stuck after trying everything I could think of. I looked up what to do online, and it was just such random ridiculous stuff there were no clues for, there was no "Aha!" moment.

Oct 18, 2020Remastered edition allows point and click, the lack of which made the original very frustrating.
With this obvious mistake corrected, you can appreciate the humour, the gameplay, the story, the fantastic setting, and the incredible music - which is included as a download with the Steam version.
An original adventure game well worth your time. -

May 19, 2020Probably the most overrated Lucasarts adventure. It has the freshness, but trying to fit a rather traditional story into the funny atmosphere means it is simply a compromise and does not excel. The engine doesn't do it any favors either

Sep 21, 2019The game is very bright, atmospheric. It's a masterpiece. I went through the whole game and this game is one of my favorites all the time. The game is very difficult, but you just have to have a very developed logic. Melodies excellent and atmospheric.

Nov 25, 2016From the hall of fame of adventure games, remastered.
One of the very best soundtracks ever made, recorded anew with an entire orchestra; one of the best plots (if not THE best plot) ever written for an adventure game, now with dynamic lighting and hi-res textures.
Get this game, you will remember puns, characters and music for ever. -

Mar 22, 2015Look as a remake its 10/10
as a game realed back then 9/10
as a game today 4/10 at best
The mechanics and controls are so out of date, i say play it with walkthough in one hand then youll really enjoy it. -
Mar 5, 2015It's a remake of the best game ever made (or at least one of them) It looks great it plays great it is great. As good today as it was when I bought it the first time in the big box that's still on my shelf. Amazing game!

Mar 2, 2015I like the remaster, but there are some camera problems and some texture problems. Still, if you liked original Grim Fandango, nothing was ruined here, like Rockstar ruined GTA San Andreas, for example.
-
Feb 26, 2015First: I am rating this "port", or "remaster", however you want to call it.
This great game doesn't deserve such a loveless port-
the controlls via a Xbox360 gamepad is a drag too - unlike with mouse controls you never know, which end of the screen is going to another scene. You have to find out the hard way after hours (exaggerating) of running around. -

Feb 18, 2015A blast from the distant past brought up to date graphically.
Luckily everything else is still in place, and I'd forgotten most of the original so still enjoyed it.
Not for everyone of course, but what is?
Good fun. -

Feb 12, 2015A real blast from the past.
Old enough to remember playing the original, luckily my memory is bad enough that I could enjoy it all over again this time around.
This is a real fun game. -
Feb 12, 2015Even though i personally believe this game doesn't hold up like it used to, i still felt a feeling of nostalgia come over me when playing Grim Fandango. Its a game made for the oldies and even though new gamers might not like it as much, it is still a fun little treat to hold you over until the next big something comes out. Flawed but still a fun and enjoyable game.

Feb 4, 2015How can I describe the joy of playing an adventure game?! How I miss the 90s. I really don´t know yet if it´s my teenage years or if it really just about the games. Of course it´s both!
Enjoy this unforgettable narrative, with it´s glorious humor and a lot of thinking. That´s was all about LucasArts. -
Feb 4, 2015Great story and characters, awesome sense of humor. "Bound only by the paper thin wrapper of mortality, a soul here lies, struggling to be free. And so it shall, thanks to a bowl of bad gazpacho, and a man named... Calavera"
One of the greatest games ever made. -

Feb 1, 2015Same great game that it was many years ago but the graphical changes are not that great and there is still no real 16:9 support
Here is a quick video with comparison between the old and new graphics.

Feb 1, 2015My score will move up or down after i play the game, but for now i'm leaving it at 5/10. Just wondering if anyone else is having crashing issues as soon as you try start the game up on steam. Really frustrating as i've heard great things about this game and really want to play it!

Jan 29, 2015This was a great game. It is still a good game. But it had to be a full remaster, not only a little enhancement. I'm disappointed that the game is still in 4:3 and seems to have only little easy changes made to the original game. I know it was a master piece at the time, but it should had have a remastered version in proportion to its reputation.
-
Jan 28, 2015I'm not sure how much more you could ask for in the recreation of one of the most iconic adventure games created. There's commentary from Tim Schafer and other producers that you can toggle throughout the game. The soundtrack was completely remastered. Most of these people "reviewing" the game have no idea what they're talking about. This is the best re-release of an old game I've seen to date.

Apr 7, 2015Charming as the characters are, I found Grim Fandango’s gameplay intermittently grating. Some of the puzzles in the game are so idiosyncratic that they seem predicated less on the deployment of practical reasoning than on the achievement of a mystical mind-meld with the game’s project lead, Tim Schafer, and the rest of the developers.
-
Mar 22, 2015Even if the mechanisms of this game seem a little dated now, we're reminded how the story and its characters are timeless in their good humour and quality, and in that respect, this Remaster should hold almost as much joy for newcomers as it does for returning fans.

Pelit (Finland)Mar 18, 2015Grim Fandango is one of the greatest adventure games ever made. The remastered edition pays tribute to the original and modernizes only the essential. Now the controls are working, so the whole package is ready to take over the world. [Feb 2015]
