Jan 28, 2015Although the term 'remastered' is too generous in this case, the refreshed Grim Fandango is still a great adventure game, even if a bit outdated by today's standards.
-
Jan 27, 2015It’s loaded with some of the best adventure game one liners; a gripping, winding plot that only slips up three quarters of the way through the game, and then improves drastically afterward; and a vibrant, bizarre world that, for all its weirdness, is extremely easy to get attached to. It’s just not a very impressive remaster.

Jan 27, 2015The combination of story, presentation, and atmosphere come together in perfect harmony to offer arguably one of the best point-and-click adventure games ever created. With that said, I was a bit disappointed to see the Grim Fandango not get the full remastered treatment I feel it should have received.

Apr 7, 2015Charming as the characters are, I found Grim Fandango’s gameplay intermittently grating. Some of the puzzles in the game are so idiosyncratic that they seem predicated less on the deployment of practical reasoning than on the achievement of a mystical mind-meld with the game’s project lead, Tim Schafer, and the rest of the developers.

Dec 9, 2015If you can survive the rough edges, it’s a great chance to finally see what all the fuss is about or relive an adventure classic.
