Oct 30, 2021The puzzles are way way too random, illogical, convoluted. At first I was really digging the art style, writing, and atmosphere, then I got really stuck after trying everything I could think of. I looked up what to do online, and it was just such random ridiculous stuff there were no clues for, there was no "Aha!" moment.

Feb 26, 2015First: I am rating this "port", or "remaster", however you want to call it.
This great game doesn't deserve such a loveless port-
the controlls via a Xbox360 gamepad is a drag too - unlike with mouse controls you never know, which end of the screen is going to another scene. You have to find out the hard way after hours (exaggerating) of running around. -

Apr 7, 2015Charming as the characters are, I found Grim Fandango’s gameplay intermittently grating. Some of the puzzles in the game are so idiosyncratic that they seem predicated less on the deployment of practical reasoning than on the achievement of a mystical mind-meld with the game’s project lead, Tim Schafer, and the rest of the developers.

Mar 22, 2015Even if the mechanisms of this game seem a little dated now, we're reminded how the story and its characters are timeless in their good humour and quality, and in that respect, this Remaster should hold almost as much joy for newcomers as it does for returning fans.

Pelit (Finland)Mar 18, 2015Grim Fandango is one of the greatest adventure games ever made. The remastered edition pays tribute to the original and modernizes only the essential. Now the controls are working, so the whole package is ready to take over the world. [Feb 2015]
