Ghost Giant remains a delicate balance of charm and poignancy; an important story told with the right amount of sensitivity, steeped in the power of VR connection and companionship. Solving its puzzles might present the occasional road bump, but you’ll otherwise be swept up by its marvellous world of miracles and the characters that live in it. And, thanks to Quest, that’s easier to do than ever.

Ghost Giant is one of those ideal titles for Oculus Quest. Able to be played seated or standing you don’t need loads of room so taking the headset to a friend’s and simply letting the experience unfold offers a superb introduction to VR gaming. It might be a little short but Ghost Giant is a charming videogame with bags of character. The start of 2020 has been a little lacking in top tier Oculus Quest content, Ghost Giant helps rectify that situation.

Like many VR games, Ghost Giant is relatively short but this is a case where the scale of the experience is in sync with its story and characters. Ghost Giant has a solid emotional core that resonates with many people’s experience. It has amusing and appealing characters and a lovely world to explore, and while its puzzles are generally logical, they also are locked by single solutions that frustrate creative thinking. On the whole, Ghost Giant is an excellent story that could only be told in VR.
