    Though hard to grasp for the uninitiated, Telltale's Game of Thrones is a truly meaty addition to the established tale, creating a gut-twisting fantasy drama that will leave you feeling absolutely awful, just like Game of Thrones should.

    The best part of Game of Thrones is TellTale's abilities to stay true to HBO license. The game is bloody, gory and violent as the best episodes of the TV Show. But time has come to use a new gaming engine.

    Telltale’s Game of Thrones should be the end of any debate as to whether or not Telltale can apply its adventure game formula to any adaptation you throw at it. I saw things in Telltale’s rendition of the Game of Thrones universe that rivaled the awfulness I’ve seen on the show. I jumped from playing the post-apocalyptic Fallout 4 to playing Game of Thrones and didn’t feel like I was killing any fewer people.

    If you loved the last series by Telltale, don't expect anything new from Game of Thrones. But if you're a big fan of Martin's fantasy saga you'll find those atmospheres, that characters ambiguity, that violence mixed with pettiness and intrigue that serves as a perfect springboard to dive into the usual Telltale game style.

    The gameplay in Game of Thrones is a bit more passive than most games and might be difficult to follow for people new to the franchise, but it does offer a strong story that fits right into the Game of Thrones lore. It has the same fantastic way of taking you into this fantasy world filled with surprising and shocking moments.

    Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series is a game build according to rules existing ever since The Walking Dead became a huge success. This six episode story is engrossing, offers lots of emotions and forces the player to make difficult choices but the illusion of non-linearity disappears during replays. And, of course, there is very little interactivity in this "interactive series" but fans of the genre, HBO's TV show and of George R.R. Martin's books should be happy.

    Pros:
    - The game offers some brutal deaths. BRUTAL. DEATHS.
    - Really good art style. REALLY. GOOD. - Conversations with main characters    Pros:

    - Conversations with main characters is pretty cool. ESPECIALLY. TYRION.

    Cons:
    - Your dialogue choices DO NOT MATTER a great deal. Compared to choices in games like Witcher, this one doesn't come close.
    - Script has been DUMBED DOWN for a younger audience (despite still being 18+). It is not as eloquent or complex as the tv series.
    - Music feels AWKWARD, it is not the licenced GoT music, and is NOT GREAT.
    - The graphics were RUSHED in places.
    - Some elements of the game - even the startup menu - are 'JUDDERY' when they load - for example the music CUTTING out and changing volume on load. These elements feel UNPOLISHED.
    - Some characters react to your choices in NON-SENSICAL manner - especially if the dialogue or plot continues on the SAME PATH REGARDLESS of any choices you make. Sometimes the dialogue options essentially mean the SAME THING, and yield the EXACT SAME RESPONSE from a character.

    Some dialogue is INSANELY BAD, for example (NO SPOILERS DON'T WORRY):
    *in conversation with Margerie*
    - Margerie asks your character to do as Cercei says and to agree with everything Cersei says, in order for you and Margerie to feign loyalty to the King.
    - During said conversation, you side with Cercei and agree with everything she says, JUST LIKE MARGERIE ASKED you to.
    - After said conversation, Margerie HAS A GO AT YOU for siding with Cersei and says how disloyal you are to her.

    ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME
    AND THIS HAPPENS LOTS

    The game is relentlessly PUNISHING the player for making devious and intruiging dialogue choices, and yet this is what GoT SHOULD BE REWARDING.

    - Bugs. Running a HIGH END SYSTEM and NEVER have problems with games, but the bugs are there and support is hard to come by on the developer's website. Had to REINSTALL the game once for a COMMON PROBLEM where the START MENU DOES NOT APPEAR.

    To clarify - this reviewer is a fan of the Walking Dead Telltale series and a huge fan of Game of Thrones. With this installment of games Telltale has hit a wall, LARGER THAN 'THE WALL' ITSELF.    … Full Review »

It is clearly just a way to cash in on the large fanbase of the Game of thrones series. You don't need to make a good game to entice already devoted fans, just include some memorable characters from the show and you're good!

    Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, does not offer any additional value to the show. It is the same intrigues from the show all over, which shouldn't be a problem since it is a Telltale game where your dialogue options are supposed to alter the story. My main issue with this is that the dialogue options are all the same! You often get three dialogue options to pick from, but they all point towards the same end, and so in the end it doesn't matter what you choose.

    Pros:
    +Real, well animated characters from the television series.

    Cons:
    -Bland color palette
    -Boring story
    -Bugged controls
    -Blocky graphics. Previous telltale titles look much better for some reason. Guess they didn't have the budget for this one... oh wait!

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Considering you play telltale games largely for the plot you'd have thought telltale would put the most amount of effort into that area. Obviously not. Telltale thinks "shock" writing = good writing, which is definitely not the case. Having the bad guys ALWAYS win, regardless of your own personal choices, is bad writing plain and simple. Having a majority of your characters butchered regardless of your ingame choices is also bad writing.
    It got to a point with choices where I was like "f*ck it, who cares what I pick, my characters probably going to die anyway".
    The final episode was so open ended and weak I found myself having literally no investment in the outcomes of the game.
