The case this time is at the Marihama-dai Station Police box, a small police box at the crossroads in front of the station. The story begins when a stray puppy is left in the care of Officer Otonari, who was still working at the police box as a policeman at the time. The breed was a Chihuahua. According to the collar attached to it, its name is Chappie.
After interviewing people in front of the station, he obtained eyewitness testimony that a person who appeared to be Chappie's owner had entered the Marihama Grand Hotel. If he could locate the owner, he would be able to solve the case.
However, they are caught up in a further incident when a guest rushes in with a bloodthirsty look on his face...
