Aug 22, 2023Your impression of Fort Solis is going to depend on many factors, with the biggest one being how forgiving you are of its issues. The story seems fine until you break down motivations. The graphics look good until you start looking beyond the characters. The acting is good, but the gameplay isn't as tight as it should be due to some odd design decisions. It is a game that might be fine for fans of modern story-based adventure games, but don't expect it to be anywhere near the height achieved by some of the bigger titles in the genre.

Aug 22, 2023While the atmosphere in Fort Solis is excellent, backed by great visuals and understated horror, the ambiguous story, poor ending, and cumbersome interaction means that this walking adventure does not always put its best foot forward.
-
Sep 12, 2023An impressive game on the one hand, but lacklustre on the other, There are some things to like about Fort Solis, but the actual interaction element can become a test of patience when walking around such a visually impressive mining facility becomes a slog.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fort Solis is a tedious and slow-burning experience without a real payoff for all the mystery it builds up. Devoid of any set pieces or story development worthy of any kind of discussion its only high point is the inclusion of highly talented actors.
-
Aug 22, 2023Fort Solis is presented like an interactive movie, but with gameplay that detracts from the experience rather than complimenting it. The narrative tries to subvert your expectations to maintain the excitement, but despite the compelling circumstances in the beginning, the story failed to stick the landing in the end. At least the game does not overstay its welcome, clocking in at roughly four to six hours depending on if you pursue collectibles and side content.
-
Aug 23, 2023As a Unreal Engine 5 showcase it's exquisite, as a sci-fi TV series (or a movie) it's not bad, but as a game it fails. If you're hoping to be scared, thrilled or immersed in a gripping story, reconsider your expectations.
-
Sep 4, 2023Fort Solis fails to make the most of an intriguing story with a limited but great cast of characters. Lackluster gameplay and the killing pace of movement makes this short experience a hurdle to overcome.
-
Sep 4, 2023Fort Solis is a beautiful, yet very boring game with a stellar cast and walking simulator-like gameplay.
-
Aug 22, 2023Fort Solis is a walking simulator that feels more like a forced walk.
-
Aug 22, 2023As it stands, Fort Solis is an atmospheric experience with impressive graphics and a slow, but interesting central narrative. But as a game it falls short on many parameters, with low interactivity, shoddy quick time events and exploration that rarely feels rewarding. I can only imagine that the actual game parts were added mostly as an afterthought, and that's too bad, for what ultimately could have been pretty special just ends up being rather bland.

Aug 22, 2023A short-lived yet slowburn sci-fi drama about two engineers exploring a spooky, beautifully designed Martian base that's let down by a general lack of inspiration and especially, a dissatisfying plot.
