Fort Solis presents a thrilling story with fantastic visuals, exceptional voice acting, and heart pounding suspense. What it may lack in mechanical gameplay is more than made up for by really feeling like you are playing a movie. Don't be surprised if you can't put it down and play straight through in a single four hour sitting. I will definitely be checking out Fallen Leaf Studios future projects and Fort Solis has even won me over to the Walking Simulator genre. Don't miss this one.

Fort Solis is a great game with amazing production quality, there are small optimisation issues, and the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, but the story, graphics, and sound design are all amazing. It has fair pricing without a “premium version” or DLCs.

Its compelling narrative and sci-fi environment make Fort Solis a welcome addition to the portfolio of thrillers that have sent us into outer space, even if this particular journey punches a little below the best in terms of emotional payoff and scare factor.

Atmospheric mystery thriller with first-class actors, a great story and unfortunately too little playing time.

Your impression of Fort Solis is going to depend on many factors, with the biggest one being how forgiving you are of its issues. The story seems fine until you break down motivations. The graphics look good until you start looking beyond the characters. The acting is good, but the gameplay isn't as tight as it should be due to some odd design decisions. It is a game that might be fine for fans of modern story-based adventure games, but don't expect it to be anywhere near the height achieved by some of the bigger titles in the genre.

While the atmosphere in Fort Solis is excellent, backed by great visuals and understated horror, the ambiguous story, poor ending, and cumbersome interaction means that this walking adventure does not always put its best foot forward.

An impressive game on the one hand, but lacklustre on the other, There are some things to like about Fort Solis, but the actual interaction element can become a test of patience when walking around such a visually impressive mining facility becomes a slog.

Fort Solis is a tedious and slow-burning experience without a real payoff for all the mystery it builds up. Devoid of any set pieces or story development worthy of any kind of discussion its only high point is the inclusion of highly talented actors.

Fort Solis is presented like an interactive movie, but with gameplay that detracts from the experience rather than complimenting it. The narrative tries to subvert your expectations to maintain the excitement, but despite the compelling circumstances in the beginning, the story failed to stick the landing in the end. At least the game does not overstay its welcome, clocking in at roughly four to six hours depending on if you pursue collectibles and side content.

As a Unreal Engine 5 showcase it's exquisite, as a sci-fi TV series (or a movie) it's not bad, but as a game it fails. If you're hoping to be scared, thrilled or immersed in a gripping story, reconsider your expectations.

Fort Solis fails to make the most of an intriguing story with a limited but great cast of characters. Lackluster gameplay and the killing pace of movement makes this short experience a hurdle to overcome.

Fort Solis is a beautiful, yet very boring game with a stellar cast and walking simulator-like gameplay.

Fort Solis is a walking simulator that feels more like a forced walk.

As it stands, Fort Solis is an atmospheric experience with impressive graphics and a slow, but interesting central narrative. But as a game it falls short on many parameters, with low interactivity, shoddy quick time events and exploration that rarely feels rewarding. I can only imagine that the actual game parts were added mostly as an afterthought, and that's too bad, for what ultimately could have been pretty special just ends up being rather bland.

Fort Solis is a bland sci-fi adventure that sacrifices interesting gameplay in its attempt to provide a cinematic experience.

If Fort Solis really was a Netflix series, it wouldn’t get a second season.

With a slow burn opening that lays the groundwork for a potentially brilliant sci-fi thriller, Fort Solis initially shows plenty of promise - but its story loses momentum in its later chapters, and fails to stick the landing.

Fort Solis aims for big-budget horror but fails to deliver on all fronts. I don’t mind short games in the slightest, in fact, I welcome them, but Fort Solis felt like four hours of my life I will not get back. Unless you have money to throw away, you should probably give this one a miss.

  1. A short-lived yet slowburn sci-fi drama about two engineers exploring a spooky, beautifully designed Martian base that's let down by a general lack of inspiration and especially, a dissatisfying plot.

I've been walking around for more than 45 minutes and nothing...

To put it lightly, this is the Wish version of Starfield.

Sure the graphics Look Great but what is the point if it can't run at a constant framerate?

Why put Quick Time Events for no reason or such basic tasks, especially when they are too fast to initiate?

    Who is this game for?

This should have been a Quick CGI Animation, not a game, to be Honest.

I'm not even gonna be bothered with rating the different aspects of this game, you will immediately feel a sense that you are not in control of anything in this game. It's just a gimmick walking simulator, where the walking itself is slow and agonizing and the Exploring is hardly rewarding.

    I'm Running a PC with
    - MSI NVIDIA RTX 3060 12G
    - 32 GB DDR4 RAM
    - AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6c 12t

And this game can't even maintain 60fps @ 1080p With DLSS on Quality, Balanced and Sometimes on Performance mode on, on the High settings.
    WHY? HOW?

2/10, I'm not going to even attempt to finish this game, if the game in its intro can't even perform well or interest me slightly.
There is nothing redeemable here, I'm shocked that there isn't even a run button.

What? Did you guys run out of budget, Do You need some help? Because it would have taken me 1 hour.

This game makes me fear for Starfield performing badly because this game uses real-time global Illumination. And Strafield, SURPRISE, also uses Realtime GI.
Will Starfield even run at a Stock 60fps @ 1080p? Probably not.

That's my review, If you want a walking Simulator just play Death Stranding which in my opinion is better than this game by far or better yet play View Finder, a good Indi-Game that will blow your mind...so yeah, that's all.
