For The King can be quite enjoyable experience and it’s even better with friends. But be warned, you will earn your victories in this harsh world. And you will earn them only through your many failures.

For The King refuses to hold your hand, making it a real challenge that feels rewarding. Despite its slow combat, there’s a ton of enjoyable content to make it worth your while.

A beautiful turn-based RPG whose brutality can sometimes get the better of it.

Some very snazzy production values give a great 3D wrapper to a fairly generic strategy RPG - a randomised hex-tiled overworld with dungeonsSome very snazzy production values give a great 3D wrapper to a fairly generic strategy RPG - a randomised hex-tiled overworld with dungeons to explore seems at first to offer such possibility, but inevitably the majority of play is stuck in a fairly basic RPG battle system with little depth. It might work better in lighter bursts, but each run sees you stuck in scenarios for extended grinds, and at times only to see progress end with a random spell of poor luck. Playable it may be, but novel it ain't. Full Review »

It's unique art style, player freedom and RPG elements will bring you back again and again. Even after completing it's main campaign, there's great level of re-playability with unique classes and player expression. If that's not enough, there are other shorter but well thought out campaigns to play too. The game does have many bugs and punishes the casual gamer but is a great game overall. As someone that does not like turn base games, this was definitely a pleasant surprise. Full Review »

I bought it on sale for a couple bucks. 54 hours of fun with friends. Totally worth it.
