Scott Cawthon has brought a new genre to horror games we know today. No moving down a dark hallway involved, no mysterious items or holes you peek through, just a game that makes you anxious. Five Nights at Freddy's is an indie point and click survival horror game where you have to survive about 7 nights total as a night guard working at a pizzeria. Your goal is to earn a ton of weekly and extra night shift earnings (money) and to survive attacks from the animatronics: Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie Bunny, Chica Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, and even Golden Freddy. Your goal is to earn a ton of weekly and extra night shift earnings (money) and to survive attacks from the animatronics: Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie Bunny, Chica Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, and even Golden Freddy. When I first watched Markiplier and other YouTubers such as Jacksepticeye and DanTDM, I quickly grew in love with this game, and bought the first 3 games ( 4, SL, or World weren't out yet) on my birthday. The mechanics are simple. If there's an animatronic at your door, you close the doors on your sides of the office you stay in. You must check on Foxy through your cameras from time to time to see if he's running towards your left door. If your power runs out, you have a chance to survive if the clock is at 5am. Oh, did I forget?! You have to survive till 6am until the night is over. When I got this game, I was completely new to the point and click mechanic, though I managed to beat night 1 on my first try. I died on night 2, but progressed to complete 20/20/20/20 mode in the custom night selection given for completing night 6. Fun fact: This and the 2 other FNaF games were the first Steam games I got, so you must know that it must've tooken a while to get the games and get an account. The jumpscares start off making you jump back or scream a bit, but after a while it turns from horror to rage. Your heart will beat very fast! If you want more in depth, you can look at the YouTube gameplay videos, and I usually have the same reaction first playing the game, or you can check out my Steam review which is more comedic, so I'm not going to link it here. I think this game is really good, because it might be a problem that the gameplay is always the same, but it gets more difficult when you proceed with the nights. The mechanics change on the other games and on FnaF:Sister Location and Help Wanted you will do different things every night.

Instead of being forced to confront or sneak by your enemies, you are forced to just sit in a tiny office space and wait for your enemies to come to you creating a constant feeling of paranoia.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a classic horror game, though the game mechanics and graphics are basic it does not take away from the essence of this game. Being in the at office with ambient noise going off in the background is a truly terrifying experience. The first few nights are terrifying as you fight to survive the possessed robots after you, the last few nights though begin to get more frustrating. By that point you are numb to all the horrors of the game and more often than not you are just going to get frustrated not scared. This doesn't take away from the game though, the lore of this game is also immaculate. It connects well with the rest of the games in the franchise. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I first viewed Five Nights at Freddy's, I thought it was a cheap game full of jump-scares. However, I was clearly wrong, as this is a very unique style of horror. Despite this being considered a scary game, I found the game to be less scare inducing and rather more tension and paranoia inducing. As many other reviews said, you cannot do to much about these freaky mascots approaching you until they're in range of your light or in some cases, running down the hallway or outside your door.

The game-play in this overall was amazing, you have an amount of power you use and have to make it last all through the night. Using doors, lights, and even the camera all cost power. Another gameplay aspect are the bots and their different behaviors. Bonnie is the most active of the robots, commonly appearing outside your left door and quickly leaving. Chica is the second most active. She tends to linger and stay in rooms longer than the other robots, even when appearing outside your door, she'll tend to stay longer than most. Foxy is unique, he will appear if the player checks Pirate Cove too often or too little on night 3 (could also appear on night 2) and later. Foxy has 4 frames in Pirate Cove, one will show him hiding behind the curtain, another peering out of the curtain, then one moving towards the left side, and then one even closer to the left side. After the third frame is shown, a little while later if the player checks the hallway, Foxy will be charging down the hallway, giving the player a few seconds to close the doors. The last one is Freddy, unlike the others, he's kind of a mystery. You will hardly ever see him move around the room early in the week, only standing on the stage looking at the camera. He will only appear if the power runs out, and a song will play for 30 seconds before he attacks, unless time runs out. In the later nights however, he will go against normal strategy, being able to teleport through closed doors, and rapidly moving towards the player. Sometimes, Freddy will work with Chica, Bonnie or Foxy to fake out the player. This strategy involves Chica, Foxy, or Bonnie causing a distraction to keep the player occupied, and allowing Freddy to get to the player. Also, as Freddy becomes more active in the later nights, the bots become more erratic as they move towards the player, often twitching and moving in unusual ways.

With all of these behaviors, you'd think the game would keep you always on edge. While this is mostly true, I believe it would've been more interesting if the bots could take more than 1 route, because as you see more of the game, you will begin to think, "Oh, Chica has left the stage. Well, better keep checking the right door." Okay, while that may not be entirely true because you have to focus on the other 3, it would have been more scary (and possibly drive many Lets players to insanity) to have the bots randomly decide which hallway they take. So you could have Chica and Bonnie take the same hallway, and have to deal with both of them. However, this is just a minor nitpick, and considering how much the game is worth, I shouldn't have the same expectations as I do for the Sims 4.

Lastly, the sounds in this game add to the atmosphere and sometimes give hints to an approaching bot.

All in all, I can conclude that this is a horror game that is far more just jump-scares, and I would recommend this game to anyone interested.

Amnesia and Outlast are leading the charge with indie scares, while the triple A creeps of the Evil Within and Alien:Isolation have ensured that the big publishers are still interested in delivering quality horror games. Steam Greenlight is one of the many services that is encouraging small developers to bring out their dream projects and Scott Cawthon is one of the many developers to embrace this service. Five Nights at Freddy's embraces the current trend of not allowing you to fight back against your enemies... and that takes that further by not allowing you to run or hide either. It's a silly sounding premise with evil teddy bears and bunnies after you, but this is one of the greatest horror games of our time... and it's all built on jump scares.

You play as security guard, Mike Schmidt. He has taken a low wage job at the popular eatery Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. It's a lovely place during the day and brings joy to many children, with its kid-friendly design and "cute" animatronic animals. Then it goes dark. When it reaches 12am... things start to happen. You've taken the night shift and you simply have to sit in your office and watch cameras. However, the animals seem to move and some of them move fast... It is a very simple premise, but the game builds up its story through some deceptive phone messages that also tutorials and also through the environment. Apparently, the animals are so evil because a man stole a Freddy suit in 1987 and abducted a bunch of children- all of who were never seen again. Apparently they stop their charge for human blood at 6am for unknown reasons. Apparently they stuff you into an empty suit when you caught... and put a metal skeleton through you. It's some creepy stuff and after this game, you'll never look at animatronics the same way again.

Gameplay-wise, there is almost nothing to this game. You sit in an office the whole time, checking cameras, turning your head and clicking buttons to turn on lights and at the worst possible time, shut doors. You need to survive for around 8 or 10 minutes in real time and the only way to do this is to monitor the creatures. When they get close you shut the doors. However, you have to be quick with the fast Foxy and the massive Freddy. Once the animals get in the room, you cop a jump scare. So what's to keep you from shutting the doors the whole time- power. You have a constantly dwindling power supply and every action saps your electricity budget. Even staying still and not touching anything will drain power, due to a constantly running light and fan. When all the power runs out, you are pretty much doomed unless it quickly hits the magical number of 6am and the night ends. But once you see the screaming face of an animal on your screen... you're already dead.

After the third night where things really hit the peak, it becomes very repetitive. The game never fully advances and you don't learn any new skills or moves. While the animals become more active and you're more likely to be killed by Foxy or Freddy, there are some really cheap deaths on display and the game can become immensely frustrating. The main five night campaign takes around 1 hour, but you also unlock a 6th night and a more inviting Custom Night. The thing is, once you've finished all of this and earned three stars, you won't want to really play this again and you may not even get through the bonuses. The only seeming Easter Egg is an annoying Golden Freddy who crashes the game and he's easily unlockable. The graphics are also very poor. It may be a one man team making this, but this looks like something out of the 90's. The sound design is very good though, with a haunting atmosphere, a darkly creepy voice over from "Phone Guy" and a startling amount of screams and yells. Play this with headphones if you want nightmares.

Five Nights is only around $5 which is a good price for what you get. It is definitely scary in some places and is designed well, but repetition and a lack of replayability hold it back. If the next time we go to Freddy's manages to innovate a little, then Scott will have a real winner on his hands.

Horror games usually use things like resource management and atmospheric noise to generate an extremely stressful environment for the player, but rarely can a game produce such a profound level of panic as Five Nights at Freddy’s. It masterfully puts the player in a horrific spot of waiting, just waiting for the inevitable jump-scare.
That being said, there is little else to the game beyond those mechanics, since the player’s fear is actually used to enforce bad habits in the player and work against them, rather than for them as some games might warrant. Naturally, this comes at the price of lying to the player a bit (or at the very least using a bit of subtle misdirection) and thus forces multiple play-throughs and lengthens the game significantly. The real difficulty of this game is learning patterns and getting good sets of random circumstances, and thus it really lacks a great deal of depth.
But, for a low priced game, is it worth buying? Of course! If you like this kind of stuff, that is.

In five nights at freddy's, you are a security officer at Freddy Bazebear's pizza. at this pizzeria, there are 4 animatronic animals for entertainment, but at night they are stuck in a free-roam mode, and see humans as metal animatronic endoskeletons, and will try to fit them in a costume, which kills hem, and you just so happen to be there at night. although i will admit, Bonnie and Chica lose their scare factor quickly, the other two, Foxy and Freddy really create a sense of dread. i think that a good way to make it a bit scarier would be to have Bonnie and Chica in a COMPLETE free-roam, and not stuck on a specific path, this makes them predictable and not very scary. Five Nights At Freddy's is a good game, its very simple and challenging. It feels rewarding to get through every night in the game to eventually unlock custom night. I was one of the people that beat it on 4/20 mode. It's a fresh take on the point and click genre of games.

The atmosphere and sound design is great but the gameplay is where things start to take a turn.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Scott Cawthon brings us this classic installment full of tension and terror, but is this game good?
Five Nights at Freddy´s is an independent horror game that uses tension as the main element, at first glance it seems like a childish game that is not scary, but the tension and the environment that contrasts with the friendly appearance of the animatronics generates a lot Terror, the fear of lighting the hallways and seeing a robot or seeing someone on the cameras near us is very terrifying. FNaF is a game with simple but functional mechanics, an impressive tension generation capacity, the excellent use of sounds and an innocent environment, it is a very good game, it makes mistakes, it is not perfect, it is too simple and short (but intense ), it has small errors and must be polished a lot.
The end is simple we are fired by odor and manipulation of animatronics which confirms that we are Michael Afton the son of the Purple Man.

The jumpscares don't really affect me anymore. Of course, it's only human to jump after hearing a loud and sudden noise, but the atmosphere and the sounds favored the fear factor, to then culminate in an animatronic bunny screaming at your face. After playing this over and over again, you get used to it. But i have to say, out of all the games, the animatronic models are actually really creepy. Graphics are really realistic sometimes, and lighting is great, although the game is limited by the engine. Due to this, it lacks an options menu and many other features like resolution scaling (which could be an issue) and volume configuration. I want to remind some people that this game was made by a single developer. For the effort he put into this game, he truly deserves the positive response he got with this. This game also made him have a comeback, as Chipper and sons didn't do so well...
Yes, it is short, but for the price it has, i guess it's okay.

The game does a stellar job with its setting, ambience, and use of the player's "fear of the unknown". The jumpscares still do get me, but me remembering how Freddy and Foxy work (for the most part at least), I was able to keep them away for all 6 of the nights. I definitely may have gotten lucky, but I still felt as if it was odd that the main animatronic, Freddy, was never actually a threat to me. However, I must say that I still love playing this game and I plan to finish playing 2-4 as well (maybe not 4 though that may be too much for me, and I was never too big of a fan of its style of gameplay). I feel like most people like this game just because popular Youtubers play it, but have never played themselves. I've spent around 3 hours playing this game and I think it's pretty good if you want a quick scare. They're are definitely better games out there, but this one isn't too shabby. It's just the perfect amount of scary to make you startled for a bit, but you feel normal and have forgotten about the scariness of it a few minutes later. I play this game when I'm bored. The difficulty of it increases quickly, but if you can't get passed the 2nd or 3rd night on your 1st try, you probably aren't good at this game. Most of these reviews complain about the difficulty, but it's not that difficult until night 4. It's your average "horror" game. Expand

    - Gameplay: 7/10
What makes this gameplay more engaging than FNaF 2s? My theory is that, because of the power system, which is actually way more challenging now, the game has to be played with caution. You can't just spam endless patterns because you will simply run out of power before you reach 6AM. overall, it's simple interface together with it's simple mouse controls make this game very pleasant to play. FNaF requires fast reflexes together with intelligent gameplay. I have to admit that the game however is not very difficult for the first 3-4 nights. I don't know if this is a result of the countless hours gameplay that I watched before playing it, or because of the difficulty of the game itself. The option of an extra night + 20/20/20/20 makes it much more fun in my opinion

    - Atmosphere: 9/10
FNaF is the definition of chilling. The fact that the kitchen cam is completely blacked-out (which was done to give the player some chance for imagination) is a small but fun detail. It's a dark and grimy office, in which you cannot move. This results in even more of a scaring factor, because it's in most peoples instinct to run away from things that threaten them. The fact that they now have to now face their fears makes it very confronting.

    - Jump-scares: 7/10
The jump-scares are overall way better than in FNaF 2s. They are more unpredictable and they have more animation. They do lose their scare after a while, but together with it's atmosphere, it still makes you want to avoid they at all cost.

    - Sounddesign: 7/10
The sounddesign is pretty simple but effective. Hearing the animatronics walk, the kitchen noise, the slight noise of the fan, and the overall jump-scare sounds are well made, but they once again lose their fright after a little while

    - Lore: 6/10
The lore in FNaF is pretty simple in comparison to the following games. we hear about future events, like the bite of '87 which makes for some cool teasers. Also part of the lore being written on the wall is a nice addition.

    - Innovation: 8/10
Scott created a whole series from this game as an independent game developer. This game haas influenced a lot of other games after it, of which it's still one of the best.

    - Replay-ability: 9/10
You can play this game for hours and hours. With the addition of the extra night and the 20/20/20/20 mode, its fun but it will also last you a little while before completely finishing the game. Even if you do finish it, it can always be replayed later because of it's RNG-factor

    - Price: 9/10
This game is such a steal for only €3,99!

CONCLUSION: The first FNAF is equal to FNAF 2 but at the same time totally different. The gameplay is enjoyable, even tho it's pretty simplistic. This horror game is a base for many others to build upon. If you have some spare money, I would really encourage you to buy this.

For a normal novice horror player, this game will feature a very spooky atmosphere and quite a few legit scares. And some management puzzles as well! But I have to say this as a seasoned horror game veteran, this game is not as scary for me. The chilly ambient atmosphere that the game creates is quite good, but the horror itself relies way too heavily on jumpscares, and for me that is just annoying. The power management puzzle is pretty neat though, a nice new spin on the horror genre as surviving the nights is completely up to your use of energy. Also I'm not the one to ask questions about logic in video games, but electricity powered doors which close if you run out of electricity. Really? Couldn't come up with something that makes a bit more sense? Oh well, that's just nitpicking.

On the technical side, the version 1.0 that I played is just a joke. No basic audio settings, can't change resolution, brightness, gamma. Nothing. It was just frustrating in that regard.

In general, the game would be pretty scary for a casual horror novice, but for me personally it wasn't all that scary, and quite annoying at times.

The premise is genius, and the undercooked gameplay mechanic is unique enough to overshadow the lack of sophistication. This game would have earned a 10 from me, if not for the following problem... one which I'm betting most fans have also noticed but forgiven...

The hows and whys of the murderous animatronics are actually very well fleshed out—the plot could have easily just been "kill-bots are coming for you, because HORROR," but instead there's a satisfying effort to explain a) why these things roam around, and b) why your life is in danger.

The problem is, the established logic doesn't lend itself to the way the actual jumpscares play out. It's as if the creator's real goal was to maximize the jump factor at the expense of making the scares consistent with the story. Early on, you learn that the animatronics are just slaves to their programming, and will treat you like a disembodied robo-skeleton rather than a human, trying to fix you by shoving you into a suit (one which has no spare room for a human body.) How creepy is that?? The thing is, when one of them does reach you, the result is nothing more than a shrieking, flailing "booga booga" moment and a game over screen. Is it an effective jumpscare? Hell yes, but it's not at all what you'd expect from a plodding robo-dummy that's supposed to be dragging you away and sticking you where you don't belong.

The plot generates an unparalleled sense of dread, the over-the-top jumpscares are suitably diaper-worthy, but there's this conceptual disconnect between the two that makes the latter feel cheap and forced... and part of me feels cheated. With some more toned down, better-fitting scares (e.g. you drop the cam screen and Chica is standing silently two feet from you..... still scary without being exhausting) this could have been the greatest horror game ever made.

I'm actually a bit depressed that we'll never get a game like that, now that FNAF has the surveillance horror mechanic so closely entwined with party-style jumpscares.

I'll start with the negatives: The game is only about 1-2 hours, and 3 if you have a bit more fun with it. The backstory seems generic when you piece it all together. The scares do die down after the first few nights, and it can slide to more of the annoying side. The game is WAY overhyped, in my opinion. It isn't scariest-game-of-all-time, but it does satisfy at some points. The locationI'll start with the negatives: The game is only about 1-2 hours, and 3 if you have a bit more fun with it. It isn't scariest-game-of-all-time, but it does satisfy at some points. The location even seems a bit generic.

The Positives: The gameplay is something that isn't seen much. You can't move. You only have three actions: shut the doors, turn on the lights, and check the camera. It's blended together to create a well placed im-gonna-die feeling. The game may sound simple, and it is, but it also presents a challenge that I oddly haven't really experienced in other games. The game is difficult, and if you screw up on later nights just a little, then you can officially say you're dead. The story, also generic, presents itself in a way that makes it vague and makes you want to piece it all together. Once you do, there is room for even more thoughts and speculation.

Other comments: No. This game isn't 100% scary. The animatronics and the setting won't scare you. It may make you feel uncomfortable, but that's even only for a little bit. The scares come from the fact that you can't move, and you can only do a few functions. That kicks in survival mode for people. You don't want to get caught, and that's where the scares are. You won't be able to fight back. But again, the scares can be short lived.

Is the game worth $5? Yes. This isn't a must-have game, but if you have the cash, I would recommend looking at this game. It's really fun, but just know that this game will only last for a few hours.

Then why does it have a 7? Well, it's painfully generic with the story. I looked at it and even found myself saying "Really?" It's an entertaining game, and this is a great start to a series.

But this one is slightly different - actually it's so unique and yet so simple, but it is quite a fright. "Five Nights at Freddy's" is nothing more than a "horror situation/survival simulator", and I do not mean that lightly: the game literally leaves you alone in a surveillance office as you - the night guard - watch over a pizza parlor full of animatronics that literally want to kill you. And let me be clear, these are not animatronics by definition but instead are "automotons". They will move and try to find you. Unfortunately for you, there is no leaving the office or moving all that much; you control security cameras and the 2 doors that lead to the office, all of which drains the little energy you absolutely need to run the shift rather quickly.

I give "Five Nights at Freddy's" a 7 out of 10 simply because this is a game review and I will not lie, the game is not all that amazing. And as fun as it is (and rather boring to some extent, with no replay-ability), it fits the genre well! When you get past with all the flash scares and just out of the creepy immersion. Your left with a simple point and click defense game against a random set of events. If the game could have evolved some better game-play, or introduce new events to cause panic to the player as the days progressed. All and all, for its value and for the flash scares... a 7.

The game is a nice change compared to any other horror, or just any game in general. It adds a brand new, fresh game idea and mechanics. It isn't just walking around a haunted asylum, or spooky mansion, while poorly designed monsters pop out at you. In the game, you're actually trying to do this job for a reason. If you don't do it right, there are consequences... That's one of the problems i had with Slenderman. You were literally wandering through a forest trying to find PAPER!... It didn't make you feel like you had a connection with the character at all. In Five Night's At Freddy's, you're scared for yourself, and your character. You also have to take into account that this game was made by ONE GUY! ONE... GUY... Considering how the graphics aren't half bad, and the mechanics are new/fresh, i'd have to say that's pretty impressive.

    Breakdown for Rating:
    - New and Fresh Game Mechanics and Ideas
    - Pretty good graphics and animations
    - Doesn't feel the need to use blood to scare you

Boring, boring, boring. I just found this boring. It looks nice enough, and isn't fundamentally broken, but if your not getting your ass kicked, this game is boring. If you're into Resident Evil or Silent Hill, this is possibly for you. BUT BE WARNED: if you play this you're either A) getting knocked around like a pinball on speed, B) getting bored, or C) both.

Five Nights at Freddy's is one of the scariest and best horror games out there. This game is also pretty challenging in its own, unique way.

The goal of this game is to get through the night. You do this five times, well technically seven due to night 6 and custom night, and overtime the animatronics become more hostile. You have to check cameras to see where the animatronics are, but you shouldn't use it too much, or else the power will decrease faster. You keep the animatronics away when they are right at your security door by closing it until they leave.

This game is a very unique one, but it has limited replayability, and is pretty simple for a horror game. It can also get boring quite easily, but despite that, it's worth the five bucks. So if possible, definitely pick this up if you're into horror games, and maybe pick up FNaF 2 (the most challenging imo) and FNaF: SL (Sister Location) as well, as they are one of the best in the franchise. Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator is also a fun game, and it's F2P as well, so you can try it right now.

Five Nights at Freddy's, developed by Scott Cawthon, has become a sensation in the gaming world, known for its intense jump scares and chilling atmosphere. This indie horror game has amassed a dedicated following and has become a staple in the genre. While it undeniably offers a nerve-wracking experience that keeps players on the edge of their seats, there are some areas where the gameFive Nights at Freddy's, developed by Scott Cawthon, has become a sensation in the gaming world, known for its intense jump scares and chilling atmosphere. This indie horror game has amassed a dedicated following and has become a staple in the genre. While it undeniably offers a nerve-wracking experience that keeps players on the edge of their seats, there are some areas where the game falls short, preventing it from reaching its full potential. In this review, we'll delve into the game's strengths, weaknesses, and overall impact on the horror gaming landscape.

One of the standout features of Five Nights at Freddy's is its ability to create an atmosphere of dread and tension. From the moment you enter the dimly lit security office, the game establishes a sense of claustrophobia and impending doom. The flickering lights, the ominous ambience, and the unsettling animatronic characters lurking in the shadows all contribute to an eerie and foreboding environment. The tension builds up gradually as you desperately try to survive the night, anxiously monitoring the animatronics' movements through the security cameras.

The gameplay mechanics in Five Nights at Freddy's are relatively straightforward but effective. As a security guard, your primary objective is to survive five consecutive nights while keeping an eye on the animatronics, which come to life during the night. You must carefully manage your limited resources, such as power for lights and doors, to ward off the animatronics and avoid a gruesome fate. Balancing your actions and conserving power becomes crucial as each night progresses, adding a layer of strategy to the gameplay.

However, some players may find the repetitive nature of the gameplay frustrating. Each night follows a similar pattern, requiring you to monitor the cameras and react accordingly to survive until 6 AM. While the initial nights offer a thrilling experience filled with tension and jump scares, the gameplay loop can become monotonous and predictable over time. More varied challenges or additional gameplay elements could have provided a refreshing break from the repetition and added depth to the overall experience.

Five Nights at Freddy's effectively utilizes its visual and audio design to enhance the horror experience. The animatronic characters, with their uncanny appearances and unsettling movements, create a feeling of unease and discomfort. The low-resolution graphics add to the game's charm, reminiscent of classic horror titles. The audio design plays a significant role in building tension, with ambient sounds and the animatronics' distinct noises contributing to the overall atmosphere. The creaking footsteps and the menacing laughter of Freddy Fazbear himself are sure to send shivers down your spine.

While Five Nights at Freddy's introduces an intriguing and mysterious plot, the game's storytelling falls short in terms of execution and integration. The narrative is mainly conveyed through newspaper clippings, phone messages, and hidden easter eggs, which can be challenging to discover without external sources. This reliance on external material for a complete understanding of the story creates a disjointed experience within the game itself. While the fragmented storytelling approach may appeal to some players who enjoy piecing together the lore, a more coherent narrative integration within the game would have improved the overall engagement and immersion.

Despite its flaws, Five Nights at Freddy's has had a significant impact on the horror gaming landscape. It has captivated players with its intense jump scares, unique premise, and iconic animatronic characters. The game's success has spawned numerous sequels, spin-offs, and a dedicated fan base, solidifying its status as a genre-defining title. Five Nights at Freddy's has inspired a wave of similar horror games, further emphasizing its influence and cultural significance.

Five Nights at Freddy's delivers a tense and iconic horror experience that has left a lasting mark on the gaming industry. Its ability to create an atmosphere of dread and its memorable jump scares have garnered it a dedicated following. However, the game falls short in terms of gameplay variety, interactivity, and narrative integration. While the repetitive gameplay loop and reliance on external material may deter some players, those who appreciate the game's strengths and iconic status will find a chilling and intense adventure in Five Nights at Freddy's.

Cameras are cool, but you only have to check two cameras to beat the game without any problem - Pirate Cove (Foxy) and the camera Freddy is on. You don't have to check for Bonnie, as he's going to be the most frequent visitor at your door and Chica, although less common, gives lots of sound cues that indicate where exactly she is. And they both produce audible footstep sounds when moving close to your office. Expand

Five Nights at Freddy’s presents an interesting concept to the player, and tries a different approach to the genre other than the usual asylum, graveyard and ghost town. Even the gameplay has something to say, but after the first minutes, once understood the mechanism, is hard to find a real interest in continuing playing.

Five Nights at Freddy's, even without both the third dimension and high production values in general, is really scary. It is a little horror game which will scare you with both its original idea and its implementation, proving there may be always a new approach in any genre.
