    One of the worst game i’ve ever played
    The whole story is disappointing. No character development, nothing could catch my eye.
    what i’ve done is roaming on the map aimlessly for 5 hours, and give up.

    I don't know why I keep playing these awful ubisoft games. Far cry primal was garbage, assassin's creed is garbage, why did I think this would be any different?

    I mean sure the gunplay is fun for an hour or two until you realize you're playing a game with a terrible story and an open world that is filled with nothing but pointless collectibles to grind solely for imaginary    I don't know why I keep playing these awful ubisoft games.     Repetitive garbage like their last dozen games.

    You'd think they'd work on making good dialogue, filling their open worlds with actual fun things to do, better stories, or even better pacing with the action after they worked out solid gunplay mechanics. Nope, not ubisoft.

    I BOUGHT the game, same as with 3, 4, Primal and lately, part 5...

    Installed it - did not work; re-install it; did not work. Searched the web for 2 whole days for a solution, still got the same error message and NOTHING worked! Just for **** and giggles, I PIRATED a version, for I have PAID for it and maybe with a version not tied to uplay, steam or **** Said so, did that and...    I BOUGHT the game, same as with 3, 4, Primal and lately, part 5...

    Said so, did that and... did NOT work either!

    BUT... when runnoing the programme as a standalone, I have been able to open my game through another programme, named "NVIDIA GeForce Experience" and that can be used to optimize games... I did not to that, I simply started the game via this other platform/vehicle/app..

    FUN FACT: up until now, I have played about 20 hours with sufferi g just ONE system-failure (crash).
    compare this to the day I tried running the original uplay version, I got BLUESCREENS left and right - even though I could not get the game to actually go beyond the menue!

    That was that, the really embarrassing part about the game, the one reason, why you should NOT BUY THIS GAME!
    "Technical issues" of that magnitude and the lack of a proper fix by Ubisoft - making paying customers(!) have to download a pirated version - just to being able to play the game°
    This is really sick and most definitely NOT how it is supposed to be.... and some people still don't understand why others oirate. :(

    Customers are treated like **** served unfinished products - in no other industry would this be possible, imagine getting half-cooked spaghetti, or a j´halfass-sewen jacket you cannot close - that is what UBISUCKS is doing here!
    They sell us a game in an unfinished, unpolished, buggy state, so bad, it is even UNPLAYABLE ojn many systems. This is not okay and definitely the last Far Cry title I'm going to buy in the next few years....BUT, AT LEAST THERE WERE ONLY AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM AMOUNT FOR "towers you HAVE TO climb (like a dick or an ape)". ;)

    play FC 4 - so far the best in the series, though, even 3 has more charme and far fewer problems, than this POS game! I am really sad to say this, as I really liked the series a lot, from the start, btw.
    UNFORTUNATELY, this game franchis has been "UBISOFTED", whichh should be defined a "a frsnchise recipe, that is rinsed and repeat every so often, until even the greatest fans could not stand it any longer".
    They have done it to "Assassin's Creed" - too many games, far to little innovation /PLUS TOWERS TO CLIMB)! and now they are trying to milk "Far Cry" in exactly the same way. Please, stop supporting this, as this is - clearly - MADNESS (not Sparta, not at all)!    … Expand

No physics, no real ballistics, small time destructible environment. How come everyone can spot me in a stolen enemy car driving at full speed from any distance? So stupid.     AI:
    Does it exist? In a sense that it understand it has to entertain player?
    Enemy shooting at wall, driving into wall, animal walking on wall (isn't that a bug?)
    Spawning difficulty is also issue. Enemy can spawn in house where you just clear a second ago.

    Gameplay:
    Same old Far Cry, open world, etc. not much to talk about. We got new location ok?

    Story:
    It follow Far Cry 4 story style. Best ending is when you do nothing at the start of the game, the other ending never end 'good' for you. And the ending make no conclusion or event a little sense, the whole game feel like a prolong of something after the ending. It also suffer a lot from 'cutscene' syndrome where player turn into helpless dude or suddenly lost his intelligent and nolonger function as a reasonable human being. (think Dying Light's cutscene)

    Character:
    Great villian as always (although many 'cutscenes' kill a lot of immersion).

    This didn't feel like a finish product or even a sequel, it feel like a DLC. It's don't deserve your 60$, maybe a 30$ for how little it improve. But with it aggressive microtransaction that put some free-to-play game to shame, I feel like Ubisoft should 'PAY' me to play this MMO grinding feast.    … Expand

    This is quite possibly the worst video game I've ever played that was functionally workable. Far Cry after the second one has always been too consolish for me, but I bought it knowing that would be the case. And it has its fun moments: driving is usually a pleasure. (I could add a couple more: It's makers are apparently French existentialists and quite possibly insane.) Consequently the player is constantly being dragged from a mediocre video game into an Uwe Boll movie. And not one of those Uwe Boll movies that he's proud of and will happily fight you over. No, this is an Uwe Boll movie and that he finished, watched, said "Oh my G-d, what have I done?" and then hid in his basement. The movie- Sorry. The video game fails on every level except for graphics and controls and voice acting. The graphics are pretty. The controls actually work pretty well, although several times I discovered that I had inadvertently exchanged weapons while reviving a companion. The voice acting is good to excellent. The AI is . . . present. Sort of. Overall, there are some things to like.

    But the bad is very, very bad. The writing is absolutely awful; it would make Uwe Boll blush. It's failing film student fan fiction bad. My character has been captured so many times that I must be playing Far Cry: The Perils of Pauline. At one point I was arrowed and captured inside a building crawling with White Tails. The writers have greatly expanded their love of drug effects, so that I spend much of my time not in control of my own body. Cut scenes are long and dull. And most unforgivably, not one single choice I make as a player matters in the slightest. The makers of this game have their ending pre-written, and while it's worse than any SciFi horror movie ever dreamed of being, they're relentlessly driving you to it.

    I am so, so very glad I bought this when it had dropped to a cheap price. Unfortunately I succumbed to buying the bundle, so I have the sequel which I can't imagine I'll ever play. I award it two turds and may G-d guide its makers into rehab.    … Expand

Dialogue, storytelling, characters all of them are so badly written and directed, whenever game puts me on a cutscene i just take out my headphone and alt-tab (this is legit my reaction not exaggaration) waiting for cutscene to end. It is almost as if i am in physical pain from watching this trash. And better yet,This game is one of the most overpriced BS game that i have ever witnessed.     Now the thing other people will praise you about: the combat. **** lies, it is sub-par, i repeat subpar. I have played 15+ year old fps games that felt better when shooting something. You just dont feel the reaction and consequence of firing, its weak. Enemy AI is just **** taking cover etc has absolutely has no effect on how often enemy hits you. They just periodically damage you, whether you only show a pinky or just stand still like a cabbage on a field. Combat is so horribly made, there is literally no skill involved. Being an average shooter will be only a little different than being a great shot.

    There is only 1 area where game is good, that is as usual with AAA titles, the graphics. And thats how these companies lure you, in order to con you into thinking this is a beautiful great game. And it is beautiful looking, but also empty and meaningless. Save your dollars, buy some other game. Noone should play this crap. I am facepalming so hard, after playing Doom this game feels so, so bad.    … Expand

    This games intro is hot garbage on hard. Cheap death in the chase sequence just artificially makes the game harder. Trash. Rest of game is nice, well optimized for PC. Chase sequences are broken and game breaking.

    The game is like past far cry's, enjoyable and lots to do. The story line is severely lacking, with a poorly thought out story throughout and a deeply unsatisfying ending. Not worth pursuing the story to have no input into the ending at all. Really **** effort Ubisoft!

That would be fine because Far Cry 3 was a really good game, but Far Cry 5 isn't. Every weapon seems like it's not adjusted so you shoot left and right off your target while laying down prone with a 8x scope fixed on an enemy's head and he's standing still.
    The map is fine and the elements of fishing and hunting work just like in Far Cry 3, so that's fine, but it doesn't make a difference at all to the game if it is in or not. enemies spawn all over the place ALL THE TIME, so you can't go anywhere without bumping into enemies and constantly have to kill 8 guys at every turn in the road. Visually the game looks good. nice colors and environment and the wildlife acts somewhat close to real wildlife so hunting feels real in some ways without being to boring. physics, especially while driving boats and flying are atrocious but you don't really care since it gets the job done and you don't depend that much on it.
    All this wouldn't mean a bad game if it was Far Cry 3 but this is Far Cry 5 and this game has the most idiotic and stupid story.... maybe of all time. You don't have a clue what is going on at any point of what the overall goal is with your actions or what the main villains plan is. You get kidnapped over and over to signal a new chapter in the story where you repeat the same over and over and over. I more or less figured out there was some thing about a certain sentence (won't spoil it) but you blast your way through enemies and bosses and you wait for that reward of finally nailing The Father and his family so you push on. Through the game I found myself not understanding why anyone would ever follow The Father since he strikes me as the opposite of a real cult leader, since he's talking about the bible all the time but it's gibberish, with zero context, not real bible quotes, quotes that don't fit any of the situations, Greg Bryk does a good job with the character but he's not a leader, he's a frail **** with an end goal that makes no sense and you don't care because there is no connection between the Potagonist and the Father and his family. You sit through cut scene after cut scene and plow your way through enemies in the thousands and in the end the game gives you the worst ever ending I've ever seen in any game that feels like a real and finish product. You feel like you got spit in the face and not in the good way where you want to do it all again to show who's boss but in the way where you feel like you just completely wasted 30 hours of your life on this stupid cash grab.    … Expand

    Sure, the player dies in a few hits on the hardest mode, but when your companions can casually clear any situation the challenge is entirely gone. The devs seem to have realized this to some extent, adding enemies which spawn in constantly and randomly, but this only adds a dreadfully monotonous nuisance which again the companions deal with easily by themselves.

    To top it off, once explosive weapons are unlocked the player doesn't even need his companions anymore.

    In a nutshell, fun for the casual gamer who doesn't pay attention to the story, but awful for those who require a challenge and/or immersion.    … Expand

    Ugly mix of FC3 with Mad Max. High HW requierements does not correlate with improvements in graphics. Religion used in main plot is so dumb. At least I had it on Epic only for 5 Eurous with coupon.

    por mais que o jogo traga inovações na jogabilidade ele peca na historia e o protagonista que basicamente não tem voz nome e não existe! nesse far cry foi retirada a mecânica de torres de radio para liberar o minimapa o sistema de pesca pode ser ate divertido mas o jogo não tem uma historia marcante como os jogos anteriores.

    Far cry 5 is an acceptable Ubisoft open-world game with an offensively mediocre story. I was convinced to make a Metacritic account just to warn others of how bad this is. Also don't forget the game will pull you out of the gameplay to force you into cutscenes by kidnapping you somehow while you're in a plane or at the bottom of a lake or in an allied bunker. This happens 9 times.

    Just finished Far Cry 4 and i dived into 5. OMG. Game begins like Call of duty, lotta similarities and i didnt like that, you killing Far Cry magic that way. What else i didnt like - Music, no map, weapons are **** somehow, missions are total **** and its kind of boring. cufk alll that. I dont recomend this game to Far Cry fans..

    Ubi are thew worst offenders when it comes to refund, despite buying it on preorder they refused to give out refund.     the multiplayer is worst. You are Forced to find people in order to play Co-op. theres no matchmaking system nothing. Ubisoft support will even tell u to go on forum and reddits to find ppl to play with.

    Multiplayer only offers Team Death Match which is **** you can't see these things until you actually got the game. and arcade is boring as hell because of this. beware!

    also the map editor, you cannot add enemies from Far cry 3 etc. EG Crocodiles, you can only add corpses which is stupid    … Expand

    I ONLY purchased the game to play with a friend and I can't because of the snowshoe error that everyone has.

    I contacted 3 TIMES Ubisoft support and spend around 4 HOURS trying to fix it without success.

    Stay way from this crapp.

If you add to that the incredibly irritating religious music and the entire message of this lunatic cult, that is pounded into the player's heads constantly, and it makes for a miserable experience. Fun games are farNO!!! :Far Cry 3 and 4 and even Primal were enjoyable games. This is a monstrosity. I am following the locations set up by the game and I'm perpetually getting slaughtered. Fun games are far between these days. Designers are either claiming that they want to go back to their roots, which is a stupid idea, or they want to go in a different direction.     Far Cry 5 it's like earlier versions and like 6th part. It's all the same like in 3,4 and primal. Clearing 100 posts, kill stupid npc's, use some vehicles. Fishing is a new feature.

Also, accuracy is crap meaning no matter what your skills, except for a few weapons (e.g. the magnum pistol) you will be frustrated. My wife gave up on this, as she is a more demanding player. I decided to continue in singlaplayer. This whole "bliss" crap made me give up.

    The whole story is crap, but okay, I can live with that if I am not fricking forced to sit through all the cut scenes. Not here, though - the lame, boring, exhausting cut scenes involving the forgettable and boring NPCs are not fricking skippable. I am here to play for 30 mins after i am back from work and the last thing I want is to be forced to watch minutes of boring cutscenes. Sorry, but no more Far Cry for me.     Plane control on keyboard. -> Blocker of progress in game. It is impossible to hit tarket in plane therefore keyboar has one degree of sensitivity. Why ubisoft do not use mouse?

    Game play is fine, some content is ok. Lots of Nose Bleed scenes that happen regardless of skill or game play. The drug induced cult Wins in every option, so why even play the game? Played all endings, every one left me sick. The endless kidnappings, cliches and making the player do stupid stuff basically feels like a big f*ck you to the players from the writers. Running around Montana is fun but then suddenly you get magically kidnapped so you can sit tied to a chair and listen to a baddie ramble on for 10 minutes. And that happens around 10 times in the game. I would alt+f4 when a kidnapping sequence was starting because I couldn't handle it. I've been a fan of the series for a long time but this was probably the last Far Cry I will buy.… Expand

    This game made me cry, I cried when I was finally able to pass it, cried when a second after the credits I came out and began to remove it from my steam. The last Far Cry I played was 3, and it was a great game, it had charm, it had energy and fun, because of that I don't understand how the developers could **** it all up.     Good graphics without any concern to play, a dumb story with forced cutscenes and forced dumb quests to "involve" you to the story. That ruins your gameplay and make game annoying. It's maybe the worst game i ever played, the relatively good graphics engine and the big open world doesn't help. I try to love this game but i cant. And the big bunch of bugs remained after one and half year.

    A bit repetitive, too much stupid, unnecessary activities but the worst thing about this game is streaming textures stuttering. It's unbelievable that Ubisoft don't care about it and didn't fix it. The game is 8/10 but it's unacceptable to release any game with issues like that, that's not what I paid for. Ubisoft, you should disappear forever, I won't buy any of your games again.

The fauna also worked better in Part 3. The developers are 100% drug addicts. The music is salivating, annoying and bad tasteless.    Terrible act.

    First off, I encountered the 30-minute opening cinematic. Yep, right off the bat you're blasted with 30 minutes of unskippable cinematics. Minus one star. It's not bad the first time you play it, but if you were to ever go back, it would be a serious annoyance. Just as annoying as Skyrim. It just goes on and on and on and on. You can't even walk away and do something else, because it ANNOYINGLY makes you press w to walk and w to take off a seat belt. I would go so far as to say this is the most annoying intro to any game I have ever played. Then you finally get to play a completely annoying rails shooter / cinematic, then, you guessed it, you're bombarded with another 20 minutes or so of unskippable cinematics. Absolutely awful.

    It's a BUGGY MESS, worse than Skyrim. So many things glitch out.

    The story isn't very good. Someone at Ubisoft should have asked if anyone outside of Montana cares if it's taken over by cultists.

    AI henchmen are totally useless. It's hard to believe they paid someone to program that feature.

    Overall, Far Cry 5 is a HUGE disappointment. Two big thumbs down, not recommended to anyone, even Far Cry fans. This game just sucks, and that's coming from a huge fan of Far Cry 3 and 4.    … Expand

    The gameplay here makes no sense at all. Fights are either too easy or impossible because you have almost a entire army against you. You need to use the NPC to fight with you. Yes, worst idea ever.

    The good part first: The map. Its a very beautiful map set in the US-State Montana with a mountainous landscape and rivers drawing a pretty scenery. If you climb up on mountains you can hear the wind whistle and sitting at the river fishing some fish with your dog ''Boomer'' can be very relaxing also. That being said;

    There are over 6 hours of cut scenes most of them forced some of them unskippable. The characters are unrecognizable and talk way too long while the main character (the one you play as) doesn't say a single word . The entire game. They ruined my favorite game series with micro transactions and just dry game play. The stealth has become a little more realistic which means its absolutely no fun since the enemies detect you way too fast even on the easiest difficulty. Far Cry 3 and 4 both had very distinguishable enemies and allies (blue and red) which means its alot easier to tell who to shoot and who to spare. In this game the enemies wear dark colors and so do your allies. While the previous Far Cry's implemented drugs in a sort of comedic and funny way, this game puts you constantly on a drug called the Bliss. Just sitting at a river for example cant be peaceful for on minute because you get detected and shot immediately. Ubisoft also left the knockdown mechanic in the game, which means if you get too close to an enemy they will knock you down to the ground all the time while you got shot. Ubisoft was also too daft to add a function that a dog can sit next to you in a car (just saying GTA 5 is now 7 years old and they were smart enough to know that dogs can sit in a car). The game spends wayyy to much time building up the villain (showing cut scenes of them killing people for example), and when you finally get to kill them its just another cut scene of them giving a horribly written and voice acted speech and then dying. The forced cut scenes and fillers are probably what makes this game absolutely horrid. If you gain aq certain amount of points by freeing a hostage i.e. you will be forced into a cut scene where you're captured in some sort of camp and escape miraculously. 9 times. The fillers are for example opening vault doors. You have to open like 10 vault doors in one mission to get out. The Problem here is that there is a wheel you have to spin to open in which takes like 20 seconds to do. They completely removed the need for hunting since everything is bought now. Also why is there different types of fish with individual weights but they all sell for the same value? Its pointless to go for the more challenging ones since you always get 100$ no matter how heavy or rare they are.

    This game is pretty much GRW with Far Cry in the title
    -Bullet Drop
    -Taking out smaller villains to get to the big one
    -AI companions
    -Micro transactions
    -Skins
    -Main Character doesn't really have a name
    -Helicopters with horrible controls and physics
    -Spawn points for cars
    -No crafting system, everything is bought (which also means hunting is absolutely useless
    -Different regions

    Its so bad that i think Far Cry Primal is more of a Far Cry than this.    … Expand

    I pre-ordered this game and that was one of the biggest mistakes in my life. I waas soooo disappointed.
    I was a big fan of far cry series, but after fc5, I will not buy ubisoft games anymore

    Chain takedowns only work half the time, pistol takedowns work a quarter of a time, vehicle takedowns are no longer a thing, death from above now only works undetected, and death from below was used only once during the tutorial. Can no longer drag bodies after taking them down, making stealth much harder as well. Enemy NPCS will often spot you through bushes while crouched.

    Weapon variety went from nearly 40+ guns in Far Cry 4, to like 15 guns max in Far Cry 5. Basically, for each category (Handgun/Rifle/SMG/Sniper), the starter version is better than most of the upgrades you spend hours to unlock.

    Forced main missions make clearing up the side mission list annoying.
    NPC's in ATV's and trucks literally spawn like every 50m. You practically can't run anywhere without attracting someone's attention and getting shot at.

    Companion system is new and fun, but basically as worthless as the Death from Below mechanic. After the first companion, you will essentially pretend that the other companions you unlock exist.

    I'm not going to talk about the story itself or anything, I kinda liked the intro, but only reached the point where you met with the guy after you escape (No spoilers, it's almost the same in all Far Cry, they don't know any other way on how to start a game) and I had to hit ALT+F4 because I only got 40 FPS on Low 1080p when my computer it's capable of running it on High 60 FPS 1080p. I'm 20, been playing games since 2 (not kidding lol) and never saw such a garbage company except from EA, Apple and the rest of this ****ty magnitude.     Extremely boring because of repetitive gameplay, Other singleplayer games i usually play for 6+ hours when i install them. But with this one i couldnt get past 2 hours because of extreme borediness, so I unistalled it :)

    Far Cry 5 is a nice and funny FPS that you’ll enjoy most in co-op. The well-proven concept would deserve a rejuvenation and adding a story that is adequate to the rest of the game. [Issue#285]

    This fresh take on the Far Cry franchise is clearly visible content-wise, but a tad more discrete on the style. If you're not bothered by the slightly repetitive formula, you'll enjoy the many strengths of this episode.

    Far Cry 5 doesn’t propel the series forward — it just refines all of its elements and relegates the infamous towers to the dustbin of history. So if you‘re allergic to open worlds from Ubisoft, don’t say I didn’t warn you. But if you’re eager to meet new wacky characters, complete dozens of missions and enjoy the sights, welcome to Hope County, sinners!
