Unlike the gray, empty, and boring third part, New Vegas brings a much more interesting world to explore, dynamic gameplay, an interesting non-linear plot, a variety of beautiful locations, more content, and more fan.     In the broadest strokes possible, New Vegas is set in a battleground between the 3 different economic modes and their different forms of social organisation formed after the Great War. There's the NCR, an early capitalist republic based around its water caravans; Caesar's Legion, a vast slaver army; and the ancient, tight-knit tribes of the Wasteland, "families of families". Each of theseIn the broadest strokes possible, New Vegas is set in a battleground between the 3 different economic modes and their different forms of social organisation formed after the Great War. There's the NCR, an early capitalist republic based around its water caravans; Caesar's Legion, a vast slaver army; and the ancient, tight-knit tribes of the Wasteland, "families of families". Each of these societies interact and exist independently of the Courier. The few tribes who end up classed as raiders (mainly the Vipers) have complicated histories, cultures, and interactions. Only in a few scattered settlements are left out of the loop.

    Fallout 4 has none of that. There are no states. There are no tribes. There are cities, which don't do anything, and exist solely so you can fast travel in, sell all your junk, and leave. Raider-tribals are replaced with nameless, identical "raiders", who are all insane and stupid, and respawn in the same places every 3 days to shoot at anyone who walks by for some reason (so they can put their heads on sticks and smell rotting human flesh all day I guess). Instead of forming tribes as they ventured out into the wastes, all the vault dwellers are either still cooped up in their vaults 2 centuries later (who knows how they're managing their populations) or dead for the SS to trample over on their way to the next terminal. Instead of mercs, there are Gunners (who despite supposedly being mercenaries are never actually seen being mercenaries), the most technologically advanced minor faction in the Commonwealth who should really be ruling the entire place by now, but instead spend their time doing insidious plots and shooting anyone they see for some reason. As soon as the story, which acts as a substitute for real worldbuilding, ends, so does any energy the cities of the Commonwealth ever had. I guess people have been too busy shooting at eachother for the last 200 years to do anything whatsoever.

    The factions themselves consist of Unexplained Evil Scientists, knights in shining power armour who moved in a massive military force after they found out the Unexplained Evil Scientists were there for some reason, a single man who makes you the general of an army just because you helped 4 people, and secret agents who free the Unexplained Evil Scientists' synth slaves. The only faction that has any actual connection to Commonwealth society is the Railroad, and they're the most absurdly underdeveloped (and that's saying something) of all of them.

    My favourite moment in FONV is when you enter the Strip for the first time, and you see NCR troopers stumbling around with Military Police trying to keep them walking in 1 direction. You've heard all the way to New Vegas about how troopers go to the strip to blow their pay on booze, slot machines and prostitutes, and here they are. These are real people, in a real army, in a real place, going to real institutions. They'll be stumbling around whether you're there or not.    … Expand

    Honestly it is a decent game, the characters and setting are amazing and it is an all round fun time. I found the DLC's a bit disappointing but the main game is great.

    I absolutely adore this game and believe it is one of my favourites. The story is interesting and enticing, the humour is on point and the side quests are prone from sounding boring at first before creating one of the most memorable side stories in the whole series (The quest 'Come fly with me' is a great example). However, as anyone who has played anything related to Bethesda can tellI absolutely adore this game and believe it is one of my favourites. However, as anyone who has played anything related to Bethesda can tell you, the bugs are extremely prevalent and my game crashes 3/5 times when first loading up a save. Regardless, I would/have recommended it to everyone who'd listen to me and if you're like me and want to have more creativity with weapon customisation, I'd highly recommend cashing up 3 extra dollars for the gun runners arsenal dlc, which adds more weapon mods and ammo types.

    I've played a few RPGs in my life, being Fallout 3 one of my favourites, and Fallout New Vegas proved to be at the top with the all time greats. I now know that if I ever want to play a game for its RPG elements, exploration and setting, I'll always have somewhere to turn to. I tried to ingest as much of the Wasteland as I could, without stagnating my mental sanity, and found a world fullI've played a few RPGs in my life, being Fallout 3 one of my favourites, and Fallout New Vegas proved to be at the top with the all time greats. I now know that if I ever want to play a game for its RPG elements, exploration and setting, I'll always have somewhere to turn to. I tried to ingest as much of the Wasteland as I could, without stagnating my mental sanity, and found a world full of life (not much life actually). It's an immersive and believable world that didn't leave me alone until I got tired of it (never did), possibly even hindering my studies.

    I will set out some ratings from 0 to 10 to facilitate the final verdict:

    Presentation: 8/10
    Writing: 9/10
    Gameplay: 6/10
    Sound/Music: 7/10
    Graphics: 8/10 (for a 2010 game)
    Content: 10/10
    Optimization: -/10 (for a 2010 game, can't really tell)

    The way this game is built makes for an unprecedented replayability. The possible endings and storylines with the various factions in the game makes the overall content sky high, deserving of a rating 10 on Content. Also positive note to the possible companions, everyone had a lot of dialogue and even missions of their own, something you don't see a lot of.

    This game deserves a lot of praise, especially considering its short production time. This being an RPG, I decided to prioritise the writing and not the gameplay, so it's a 9/10 in my opinion.    … Expand

    More than 10 years later game still holds up as one of the best first person action-rpg ever. After Obsidian being scammed for money because the game got 84 instead of 85 on metacritic, I doubt that anyone else would work with Bethesda, especially the creators of Vegas. And that's sad, considering Bethesda.

    This game is really great and has very few flaws. The combat is fun for the most part, with an engaging story you truly feel a part of. The setting is really engrossing, and makes you feel like a true postapocalyptic cowboy tearing through the Mojave. The music is surprisingly good and is quite memorable, especially the radio songs.     Finally, fallout game that's makes u think, plus really great writing and role-play! I hope one day 9.5/10 I had some issue with bugs but can be quickly with help of mods (this is my first review and yes I suck at writing)

    Por mucho el mejor Fallout diseñado hasta el momento, el trabajo de Obsidian fue magnifico en cada aspecto, siendo solo limitado por Bethesda.
    Obsidian debería diseñar todos los Fallout de ahora en adelante.

    Probably the best RPG game ever made. Story, quests, NPCs and atmosphere are great. Game doesn't look too god visually, but its not about visuals.
    If Obsididan worked on Fallout, that could have been a great game too.

    if you can see over the bugs due to a 18 month dev time then you got one of the best fallout and rpg experiences ever with aboslututely phenominal dialogue options and a soundtrack that is stuck in my brain and will forever remain in there

    This game is extremely immersive and compelling; it should be used as a guide for video game story telling. The RPG elements are nice, but the gameplay is a little boring. is just shoots your gun for you. The game breaking bug also keeps this game from becoming a masterpiece.

There are bugs that I would like to say, but there were such bugs in both Fallout 3 and TES:Oblivion. I don’t see any cons from the side of the plot, gameplay, graphics, since this is not their engine, the plot is spelled out as it shouldA game that you can get into for a long time. Everything from the realistic lived-in world to the sandbox approach to combat(literally due to the location in the Mojave Desert) feels fleshed out and in-depth, allowing for an overall great storytelling experience that I have had trouble topping in the years since I first played this game. Understandably, a lot of peopleEasily one of, if not the, greatest RPGs of all time, hands down. Everything from the realistic lived-in world to the sandbox approach to combat(literally due to the location in the Mojave Desert) feels fleshed out and in-depth, allowing for an overall great storytelling experience that I have had trouble topping in the years since I first played this game. Understandably, a lot of people have issues with the bugs and dated graphics (even for when it released), but I have always held the opinion that if a game can't function very well, then the narrative must pick up the slack. Not only does Fallout: New Vegas pick up the slack, it gets a scissor lift and launches it into the stratosphere, made all the more impressive due to the fact that the game was developed in only 18 months. 10/10, would most definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a great open world RPG with a unique aesthetic and an intriguing story.… Expand

Но она перебила все мои ожидания . Лучшее рпг в которое я играл(даже лучше ведьмака) + графон не так и плох.Но можно сказать что в игре очень много модов,так что это не проблема,но лично я прошел в оригинале,безРешил пройти в 22 году,по причине того что эта игра считается классикой.Довольно скептически отнесся к этой идеи , поэтому думал дропну .     This is an example of a true Fallout. Too bad the game came out early and a lot of bugs were not found. Interesting factions and a full open world in which you are free to make your character completely. More interesting characters compared to Fallout 3.

    I have never played a Fallout game before this one. In fact, I haven't played many western RPGs except for Skyrim. I picked this game up because I heard it was good. After playing it I noticed many things. I found that the combat could be hit or miss for me, the graphics and animations were not exactly ideal. In my opinion, Fallout New Vegas has some of the best-written characters in any video game I have ever played. The obvious ones are Mr. House and Ceasar. There is a lot of room for roleplaying. There are so many different characters you can be and there is a lot of variety in the ways you can approach the game. You can go through the game without killing a single NPC. There is also not a single NPC that you cannot kill and the game always finds a way to progress the main story no matter what characters are dead. Fallout New Vegas is an absolute triumph and can only be described as one of the best RPGs ever made… Expand

    Best Western RPG and my favorit game of All Time. Is it broken. Yes
    But the writing, narrative, Story,etc are so good, so well done that i remember them to this day.
    Plus it has the best DLCs of every game.

    A great game with probably the best RPG system in 3D games, as well as with an excellent plot and quests. This is the best 3d Fallout and probably one of the best Fallout in the series. I really love this game and will try it again not once.

    New Vegas is a territory rich in history and characters. The gameplay is a mix of FPS and RPG, although it sometimes falters, it doesn't disappoint and keeps the missions with a certain difficulty, always calling you to think strategically about your resources and where you stand.

    And above all, I loved the space it gives you to role-play and customize your character, creating more than one way to solve the problems that come your way.

    Great open world that easily can get a person lost, being absolutely hot garbage at games makes it hard to complete, but really gets good when that dopamine starts to hit as u level up ur character to un-killable god status, where u’ll die anyway but enjoy doing it. It’s too late for the team to receive their royalties, **** it, give it a try and a good score anyway.

FNV is a huge buggy mess, but besides that there is almost no flaw to this game as a whole. The story albeit, kind of cliche, is a vast improvement from Fallout 3, and I really appreciate how almost every single side questI'm going to start this off by saying that Fallout: New Vegas is my favorite game of ALL TIME, so this review will most definitely be biased in almost every single way. FNV is a huge buggy mess, but besides that there is almost no flaw to this game as a whole. The story albeit, kind of cliche, is a vast improvement from Fallout 3, and I really appreciate how almost every single side quest can have several endings, all of which will result in different endings that are shown to you at the end of the game in the form of a slideshow. While this games story isn't the most serious thing every (far from it), that isn't what makes the beauty of FNV. The beauty of FNV comes from the near unlimited amount of things you can do, from finding snow globes, to the various DLCs, and on and on. However, this is without even mentioning mods. This is the best moddable game of all time, as the sheer amount of quests, weapons, houses, companions, etc. you can find around the internet make this game easily my most enjoyable game of all time. Mods easily take this game from maybe an 8.5 to a 10 in my book.… Expand

    how this game was made take fallout 3 and make it better. hands down best game in the series only problem is the bugs and the crashing but after installing a few mods its fine its just annoying to install mods in order to make a game work properly but its still amazing

The amount of power and choice that the player has on how to go about completing quests is incredibly in depth, and the player is constantly being reminded of the influence that they have on the world and the characters that are in it.     Probably my most played game of all time. It has its issues, but it remains a solid rpg, with great writing, a rich world and a plethora of options both in game, and in mods to enrich your experience.
    It has dated quite a lot over the years, but it still has a special place in my heart.

On the x360 I couldn't finish 2 full game play-throughs from bugs or glitches. After 150 hrs I put it down until modding the pc version this year.. and what a difference.     Godly game no question about it. Much better than fallout 3 EONS better than fallout 4. Obsidian did literally everything better than bethesda. Give them another chance with fallout because bethesda is dragging the series through the mud with **** like fallout 76

    My favorite game ever. An incredible rpg, a shining beacon of hope in the sea of games that try to crack the genre, even all these years later. The modding community is what keeps this game alive so definitely try them out (some are even essential bug fixes). Play it, PLEASE play it

    best game of the series, all fallout games in the franchise should follow the blueprints Obsidian has left for a successful RPG. Bethesda could learn a lot, but I wish they would just hand off production and stick to publication

    Fantastic RPG, the world feels alive, there's so many characters to talk to, everything is connected and coherent. Some of the best side quests and world building in a video game I've seen in a long time.

Can't say the atmosphere of this takes me by soul but thoughtfulness, lore, uniqueness and fascination of this world really gets me positive emotions and heats up the desire to learn all these things.     I love Fallout NV. It's my personal favorite Fallout game. It's really surprising how it took around 18 months to make yet has a better story line and has better game play then the game before it (Fallout 3). Sure It has many glitches here and there (And I may have used some for an advantage), but is pretty good otherwise.

    The only good 3d Fallout game. Not flawless but still solid. Plot, screenplay, dialogs performed way better than in Fallout 3 or 4. But gameplay, combat and level design have not passed the test of time.

    Before you rate this game, go review the circumstances it was made in. Those poor bastards didn't get the money they were due because they sold just a little less then they agreed on with Bethesda. Yet this game carries on it's shoulders so much. There is no excuse for not taking that into consideration if your review is below a 9.

    This game has beautiful writing and storytelling, but I believe it is the dlc content that makes this game a 10/10. Joshua graham and Ulysses are two of my favorite video game characters of all time.

Such a shame that Bethesda let Obsidian rush the game a bit. Only 18 months. Just imagine what it was like if Obsidian got more time. And man oh man, the critics are just terribly wrong. 84 huh?!     I think Fallout New Vegas might just be the best written game of all time. Yes, the optimization is terrible and it crashes at least once per mission, but everything else about this game is fantastic. The guns, while sluggish are so creative and fun to shoot. New vegas also has a fantastic story, I went with house for my faction, and I think that that was the best choice for me, but thereI think Fallout New Vegas might just be the best written game of all time.     I came back to this with lots of hope. people said it is a deep RPG but it was not.

    another bad thing about this game was that you could not be a thief . everytime I tried to steal things and do some stealth things the game just punished me with that stupid Karma system.
    Fallout new vegas just dose not give players the freedom to be anything they want but it forces them to be a nice kind gun fighter.    … Expand

By the time you are about to fight in the second battle of hoover dam, you feel like you earned all this. You feel like you know this place like the back of your hand. There is always so much to do, and even revisiting areas lets you find stuff you didn't find before, pick locks you couldn't pick before, and kill enemies you couldn't kill before. The sheer storytelling and happiness this game brings you makes it the best RPG- heck, the best game I have ever played. Obsidian really took fallout 3 and just made it a million times better. There is so much more stuff I could applaud this game for, like the optional hardcore mode, interesting lore, 4 completely different endings, how ALL of your choices effect the environment in some way, the absolute freedom the game gives you, but I don't have enough space and time to say it all.     Fallout: New Vegas is not the best game ever made, but it is my favorite game of all time. The settings are superior compared to Fallout 3 imo, the dialogues are god-tier, lot of unique side quests and interesting characters, more challenging than Fallout 3, etc. I'm a bit upset tho about the Metascore, I think it should be able to surpass Fallout 3's score.

    One of the best games I've ever played. This is the pinnacle of RPGs. Gives you an unprecedented level of choice. You can complete the game without killing anyone and you can complete the game after killing everyone. Great lore. Cons are outdated graphics graphics but still a lot of fun.

    Fallout: New Vegas looks like an Add On to Fallout 3, but that should not mean, that it's a copy of its forerunner. It scores with an great atmosphere, nice story and all the typical and awesome Fallout features.
