I´ve been a fan of all the Fallout games ever since the first in 1997 and have therefore looked much forward to a new Fallout experience in 76. I admit that it took me a few days to adjust to the game and the survival aspect of it. Once I put some points into endurance and stopped dying of radiation, thirst and hunger after few minutes, I started focusing on the quests and mainstory.

Now I´m really enjoying myself; playing solo or with my wife in co-op. The atmosphere is fantastic, the quests fun and it´s enjoyable to snipe your enemies from afar using your sniper rifle or getting in close and personal with the machete.
Sure, the game still have some flaws (the stash is much too small, too much limit building your BASE, lack of written chat), but Bethesda has been listening to the players and has promised to fix these things in upcoming patches.
The game is slowburn, RPG filled with lore and atmosphere. Do not listen to all the bad reviews; once you adjust to 76 mechanisms, it´s really lots of fun.

I waited at least 50 hours played before submitting a review, something that a lot of negative reviews didn't do, fallout 76 is a game that or you love it or you hate it. Personally i love it, exploration and survival are fantastic, the lore also. However, Fallout76 has also a lot of problems, like every bethesda game, but it's potential is infinite.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fallout 76 is a new take on the old franchise, as you all know. Instead of a traditional RPG, they took it online and removed "intelligent" NPCs, effectively replacing them with live people. One of the major taglines of the game was to explore post-apocalyptic West Virginia with friends, and to that extent, they delivered what they promised.

The concept is great depending on who you ask. I understand if some people just don't like the idea of a Fallout that's not single player and one that has much fewer RPG elements, but where were all the criers when they released The Elder Scrolls Online? It's essentially the same treatment, and I feel like that's where a lot of the issues are coming from.

From a technical standpoint, the game is downright broken in many ways. This is the thing I see being complained about the second most. The amount of bugs in Fallout 76 is inexcusable, plain and simple. They're a AAA company, they shouldn't have released this game in this state. I've had numerous crashes, and an uncountable number of other minor glitches. I can look past small things like occasional T-poses and sparse physics issues, but the most annoying one so far has been invisible enemies that you can't do anything about and it's happened twice to both my cousin and me. That all needs fixed asap, and I'm fairly optimistic that Bethesda has a hold on things...it's just that these fixes don't happen overnight. It stems back to the idea that this game was released one or two years too early, but it's too late for that now. We all just have to make the best of it.

One major gripe of mine is the base-building. The CAMP mode isn't exactly lackluster, but the build limit is pretty small. You can't get away with more than a small two-story building if you plan on decorating it at all. Taking settlements/workshops on the map is fun, and you can generally do a lot more since you don't really have to build a building first. Stash limit is also painfully low, but Bethesda has already addressed the issue claiming they'll up the limit once they see how the servers respond.

Looking past those horrible things, the gameplay is actually fun when it works. I play with my cousin, and we've enjoyed our time in it. It's nice to finally have a Fallout game that you can enjoy with a friend - The world feels very much like a Fallout world, the monsters are very Fallout, the guns are as well...It's Fallout. The combat is fun and engaging, especially in a group of two. You can get overrun very easily, so it's challenging in that way at times. We're coming up on level 30, and there are still many areas that we've had problems with due to our low levels; there's a lot more exploring to do. That's all we want, really. More exploration, more backstory (notes, terminal logs, etc), and more guns, and other stuff to discover.

I've heard some critics say that the world is dull and boring, poorly created, and just an overall mess. Some areas of the world are tricky to traverse, but you don't want the world to be super easy to navigate. I've seen zero issues with the world thus far, and it's not really boring either. There are plenty of areas with interesting and unique places to discover. The worst part about the world is that many buildings are locked/boarded up tight. It would be nice to be able to explore more interiors, but I'm at least hoping they add it as DLC down the road. For instance, (map spoiler?) there's an attraction sort of North on the map which is a crashed satellite. I was hoping there'd be a way to get in and explore the interior, but there isn't...at least not that I've found. Other than stuff like that, I'm enjoying the world a lot.

Nukes are interesting - I've see folks complain about how it doesn't fit the lore or the overall tone of the previous games. While it doesn't exactly fit in with the theme of atomic bombs being terrifying and the end of the world, I think in a spinoff game like 76, it can be overlooked. Fallout Shelter is a spinoff game with no real lore to it. How is it so hard to overlook minor lore issues in 76?

At the end of the day, Bethesda had an idea for an online game set in the Fallout universe. They set out to make a game that you could play with your buds and just have a good time with. Sure, it's broken, but with time, I think they'll fix it (or get it as close to fixed as they possibly can). People are overreacting to this game. If this style of game isn't for you, just don't buy it. You knew what this would be...Bethesda was completely transparent about the state of the game and what the gameplay would entail all the way back from E3.

My final word: It's a decent attempt at taking a previously-single-player-only franchise online. Bethesda fell short on polishing the game, but the core experience is there. Once they iron out all the wrinkles that keep the game from functioning as it should, I think it'll be a good game.

Don't get me wrong there are many things in this game that Bethesda could do with fixing, the odd server crash, quests that you are unable to continue, stash size to name but a few. I've given this game 9/10 because I believe these can all be fixed. What I don't understand is how people can give this game a 1/10. These people are clearly all expecting Fallout 5 or something completely different, which Bethesda have been very open in saying that this is not that. If you are expecting this game to be exactly like it's predecessors then you will be disappointed. Instead what Bethesda have created is a game that is essentially a whole new genre. I expect that a lot of the people leaving bad reviews have built up an idea in their heads as to what the game will be. But I am truly impressed and have played the game for 40+ hours now and can't stop! I feel like I have barely scratched the surface and when Bethesda have said they intend the game to go on forever (with updates etc) I think it is money well spent. A major highlight for me has been using the Speed Demon mutation which increases your movement speed by a large amount whilst running around in suit and top hat beating up other players and various different creatures with a tambourine. Never before have I had so much fun in a fallout game. The random encounters you might have with other players make the game so much more than any previous Bethesda title.
Some of the people refusing to read terminals and notes that reveal the story are truly missing out on how well written this game is, maybe try reading a book or two? (I know it's a video game and you probably don't want to read anything but COME ON!)

In summary, this game does need more than a few fixes and Bethesda could have probably done with holding off on the release until it is properly finished but what Bethesda game hasn't had a buggy release?

P.S please add push to talk!

Though after playing the B.E.T.A I found the game amazingly fun, I love the universe that the game is set in. The landscape and world of Appalachia is a large and very well built one. All of the new creatures in the game are very cool, they even have some returning ones from previous games. The building system is a blast and a very good feature for the game. There are plently of quests and events that will keep you busy and entertained. I myself am level 38 as of writing this and I still have piles and piles of quests to do. There are also a bunch of factions that you can join in this game and receive some really cool gear from, eventually Bethesda will add faction based PVP as well. Speaking of adding new things, Bethesda has already said they will continue to add more content into the game. All DLCs are said to be free content, and that is a very good thing for this game. I myself am addicted to this game as a long time Fallout fan, I am very impressed with what Bethesda has done here and look forward to the games future.

Speaking of camps the C.A.M.P system is flawed but fun with room to grow, letting you save several iterations of bases to plop down on most parts of the world with plans to find to unlock more items.

I also really like the trading card Perk system. Being able to swap cards in and out as needed and building a character based on what you have on hand is a pretty fresh mechanic.

The world boasts some unique places that are, in my view, a step up from Fallout 4 in terms of variety. Fleeing the new scorched enemies only to find myself on a nearly pristine green golf course guarded by military robots that provided me cover fire was one such memorable area.

I rated a 7 because, in the end, it still has the usual Bethesda bugs and engine limitations. But personally I'm getting my money's worth.

The one that sticks in my mind the most, is one of them LOVES GTA V, and has been playing RDR2 nearly nonstop, going on and on about it. He said that F76 was smoother, more fluid, and the combat was WAY more exciting, than either of the Rockstar games. He also just finished AC: Odyssey, and not surprisingly said AC put F76 to shame.

Based on all of their comments, there is no way I could give less than an 8/10, but not giving it more than 9. There are still bugs and glitches, and some things that need improved or tweaked. If you're a long time Fallout fan, prepare to miss the colorful (and killable) NPCs. Points are deducted for not coming up a better solution than simply having them all be long-dead. However, some of those points are returned for the intrigue of sharing the world with other living players which can add real tension. It turns out tracking a bounty (a player who has invited pvp upon themselves by killing someone who did not fight back) across the scorched landscape with a sniper rifle can be quite exhilarating.

Hätte noch vieles was man Positives schreiben könnte...

I can´t understand it, I´m reading the low score reviews and some of them looks like they didn´t play the same game as me.

    - The multiplayer in game is not the core, is just an extra. I´m playing Fallout 76 as it was Fallout 3 or 4 and enjoying been lost in the map, or explring a ruined mansion.
    - Bugs? Surely it will have, but I didnt find them at the moment, maybe a dragon flying backside?
    - I really love the building system.
    - The public events are funny, this is a good idea taken from games like "The Division", as I said it´s an extra to the game.
    - The music and sounds are, as usual in Bethesda games, wonderful.
    - The microtransactions are only for useless aesthetic crap. So, if you want it is your decision.
    - The only thing I don´t feel comfortable with is the UI, maybe too orientated to console users.

I don´t try to stop the internet hating machine, I just want to avoid you missing this game if you like previous fallout games.

While the lack of humanoid NPCs in the game hurts the storytelling, narrative, and overall depth of the quests in Fallout 76, the game still manages to intrigue to a decent extent.

To start, the environmental storytelling might be the franchise at its best, but most of the actual quests given by non-human NPCs, terminals, holotapes, letters, exc. begin to feel same in execution, despite having genuinely interesting and compelling story arcs. The amount of quests is heavy, more than any previous game, but they're very often repetitive and require more reading and listening than actual reacting and participating; to be fair, the stories told as I've previously mentioned are good, sometimes amazing, but a lot remains to be desired due to lack of variation.

The impromptu events are often quite fun, but often also require real teamwork and communication to accomplish; there is where Fallout 76 either thrives outright or falls flat, depending solely on the experience you have with over players in the game. With teamwork and cooperation, these encounters and missions are often thrilling and extremely rewarding, but with a incompetent passive squad, they feel un-engaging and tedious. The experience depends solely on how you work with others.

As for PvP, well it's really just a broken, pointless, more so annoying mechanics that serves almost no purpose in the game other than claiming that it's a thing. It's shallow, unfun, boring, and offers no thrill and virtually no reward.

That being said teaming up with friends and co-oping is the best part of this game outside of environmental storytelling, and this is where Fallout 76 separates itself from the pack. It's quite invigorating to complete quests and events as a squad, as well as discovering new places, their hidden secrets, and defeating West Virginia's mythological creatures together. Genuinely, I believe this would have better off as a co-op experience solely with no PvP elements.

Mechanically it plays like a refined Fallout 4; imagine Fallout 4, but far better. Performance can be hit or miss, and suffers greatly on consoles, but visually this is the best looking Fallout game, and the best looking game on Bethesda's aging Creation Engine. Some of the textures can appear muddy or bland, but the color pallet is vibrant, and the lighting effects are top notch.

The final thing is the crafting and survival mechanics, which aren't extremely engaging, but at the same time not that much of a nuance; it's a mechanic in the game, it makes things slightly more interesting and raises the stakes a bit higher, but overall it just gives you a reason to explore your environment thoroughly and keep you a little bit more occupied.

The map is over 4 times the size of Fallout 4's commonwealth, and the locations are varied and interesting. The world is a highlight of this overall mediocre, what what you want out of it game.

Fallout 76 isn't bad, it's just made some bad directional decisions. It contains elements of the franchise at both its absolute best and absolute worst. Overall, it's just kind of okay, but definitely worth playing with friends if you're big into Fallout.

Game feels empty without NPC's. Real world players range from antisocial to downright irritating. Most are just doing their own thing and youll see them run by. But other people who are just bored will take to harassing you by teabagging you, following you, and one guy was incessantly whacking the wall with a machete in the first town. Had to listen to constant racket while I was doing quests there. Thankfully theres a mute all voice chat option in menu. Youve been warned,

The problem is that I don't think the game will be fun anymore after you've explored all the locations ans found out all the notes and stuff since in previous games you could go down different dialogue paths and be a different kind of character.

Some problems that really need fixing are things like adding a push to talk button, which I hope players can strongarm Bethesda into adding.

While I don't care about them adding an fov slider, they should allow manual ini editing to allow you to change the fov that way instead, it gets around them not wanting to add a slider because of animation and clipping issues, but allows people who are okay with the odd floating arm they might see to stop having headaches after a while. It sucks that they are locking people out of this one tweak.

Stash size is probably the biggest problem, pretty much everyone who plays fallout has a huge collection of cool and unique things they've found while playing, but with the stash size limit in 76 it forces people to only have a few weapons, armour pieces, health items and junk to be used for building. So you pretty much just have to have one set of items you carry with you at all times, and have your junk and a few other things in your stash. It really limits what you can do and also forces you to play a certain way since you have to constantly worry about how much stuff you have even when you have already cut back on what you have.

Traders caps pool is another problem, They only have 200 caps to trade with, they only have a small percentage of the caps you give them when you buy something too, so you will always run out before you've finished. it doesn't seem bad at first because you get only a few caps per item you sell, but after you've levelled a bit and got some better gear it quickly eats up the 200 caps pool. They also share a pool of caps with other traders within a certain area, so if you build a base between two traders like I did, you quickly find out how useless that is. traders also wont buy certain items like ammo and building plans, which is annoying because plans and ammo also have a weight value, so you either have to hope you run into another player who wants to trade, wants what your're selling and also has enough caps to buy from you, if not then you may aswell throw the ammo away because it will just cut down your weight limit.

Private servers now. Bethesda promised that they are going to be adding private servers at some point, but they really should have been in from the start, The biggest potential from this game is going to be the roleplaying aspects of playing with other real humans, Having a private server full of players dedicated to a true roleplaying experience, building settlements together, creating their own factions, having raider groups and building their own shared story in the fallout world. It sounds awesome. But right now you join a random server and chances are no one is actually pretending to be part of the world, heck most players don't even talk because they have to have their mic on all the time or not at all. there's also the chance you're going to be hearing some guy watching the TV whilst chomping down and some crunchy snack whilst their character is just standing still, then there's the people that will just attack you for no real reason, it ruins what could be the best feature that saves the game for a lot of people. Private servers are needed as soon as possible.

I understand the initial negative reaction to the game, but I also think many of the negative reviews are either uninformed, or there are just a lot of issues that I'm simply not encountering. I had great hardware and networking the run the game on and see very few technical bugs. They do exist, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a Bethesda game with the same engine. Adding networking to a game engine like this is not an easy task. I suspect this game will age very nicely as they improve the engine and add new content. There is incredible potential, especially if they add factions of human NPCs that allow for you to gain reputations.

To but it simply, if you are a fan of modern Fallout games, this really shouldn't be an exception. 76 still has a ton of great story in it. It has all the aspects of exploration, discovery, and world building that all the modern Fallout games have. I've played it largely solo and I've had a fantastic time. Yes, it requires you to read notes and terminals, but that's stuff that has been in all of the modern Fallouts (and even in Elder Scrolls games) and this style of narrative is consistently some of the best story telling in gaming. The way locations will build on one another through interconnected events and personal relationships is super enjoyable. The way you are able to discover the story for yourself, rather than have it dropped in front of you is a fantastic reward for your exploration efforts. It's satisfying to feel like you are uncovering some lost history of those who have past. I see how many people may not see this side of the game because it's not necessarily cohesive with a multiplayer experience. Rummaging through old terminals and notes may also not be an intuitive gameplay motivation for someone who hasn't played other Fallout games and experienced it already.

Fallout 76 is honestly still a lot like previous, modern Fallouts. It's always been a buggy engine, albeit exacerbated by overhauling it to allow networking. I just hope that they use this game as an opportunity to update their engine iteratively, over time. The improvements to the engine that were required for this game are likely very intensive, and I bet required uprooting entire parts of the engine. These updates could be carried over to future Bethesda games, up until they develop a new engine, or mold this one into something more modern. This is much like what Blizzard has done with the Warcraft engine over the last decade. Unfortunately, many of these improvements are back end and likely won't be noticed by most consumers.

The big two differences I see between 76 and previous modern Fallouts; It's got improvements to combat with the fact that you can't just freeze time, chug some stims and then unfreeze. It has no human NPCs, and granted there are plot reasons for that, I do hope they decide to add some later.

If you're a Fallout fan, and you can go into this game without any bias from social media, I don't see why you wouldn't still enjoy this experience at its core.

I am excited to see if they will add interesting content updated to expand on the game's lore and some of the newly added multiplayer systems. Something similar to The Division's darkzone would be perfect.

The only downside is that it still has many small annoying issues which I hope will be fixed. Expand

Bought the game after the free week ended and I don't regret it, they fixed a lot of problems people had at the release and I think it deserves another chance.

I'm quite skeptical whenever Bethesda releases a game nowadays, since in my opinion they are reaching EA lows (and now Blizzard) with certain cutthroat policies. In any case, Fallout 76 was terrible, but like ESO, it's turning out to be a very good game after all the updates, with Wastelanders it's the perfect chance to give it another chance.

The sense of desolation is good because of the scarce presence of human persons.

I love to play with friends because it was just what I wanted from the time after the release of Skyrim: a classic RPG Bethesda playable cooperatively.

With all the possibilities to buy this game at a reduced price you risk falling into the ridicule by giving 0-3 as a vote. It has solid gameplay, a well-functioning multiplayer and the game involves.

Clearly like all the games the first phase presents bugs and lack of optimizations. Not to mention that, despite the micro-transaction system, the importance is not felt at all and only those graphic skins that can be purchased can be obtained simply by completing objectives: daily, weekly and various.

It is clear that who played the B.E.T.A., which, as you may have guessed, is a beta, can not complain about the bugs or problems encountered or the day-one patch. This is exactly what the beta needed, to test the game and, therefore, those who criticized this version of the game should withdraw the review and evaluate the full game.

The complete game has problems, but they do not preclude playability and, above all with performing PCs, the problems are much smaller. Solution for those with less performing PCs? Lower the graphics. Why yes, the graphics look like Fallout 4, but it's not, it's better, maybe we expected more, but it's better.

So whoever does not have the game, or just played the beta, or is only here to bury the title goes away.

    3) PVP - anti ganking is a beautiful thing, the pvp was designed for late game squad or faction pvp. People just don't understand the PvP mechanics.
    4) Character Development - Best game in the world for character builds. Non-Class specific builds calls for unlimited diversity in both solo play and in squad play with perk sharing. Align your build with specific weapon and armor mods to fit your play style for even improved functionality.
    5) Bugs - Nothing game breaking. A few glitches here and there that will most likely be fixed in a few months.
    6) Frame Drops - Bethesda acknowledges the problems with the frame rate and is working around the clock to fix them. To be honest the 50-60 fps is completely playable as a pve game. Once everyone gets to 50 we will need better frame rates for pvp, I'm confident the fix will be in place at this time.
    7) Micro transactions - Cosmetic transactions? This is not even worth mentioning. Yes let them make some one from some cool skins. Nothing game breaking from a P2W perspective.

Conclusion: The game makes for a very complex and strategic end game Battle Area. Currently, no other game provides a game that is not class specific and have as much character and team item and skill development then this game. You heard it from me first but this game is 2019 game of the year.

But walking around in the Wasteland is very pleasant, and it feels similar to just wandering and exploring in Fallout 4. It feels similar to Fallout 4 in a lot of ways, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. All-in-all it suffers from some issues with framerate (though how much of that is on my rig is up in the air) and it's admittedly light on a conventional story. But wandering through the Wasteland, picking through ruins to find notes and holotapes that hint at some very dark and interesting stories, and all with your friends along for the ride? It's fun. And it will keep my Fallout itch scratched for a while. Not a 10/10 GOTY material game. But once the various technical issues are worked out, it'll be something to kill some serious time. Expand

Since some guy asked: "What is Fallout without the factions fighting for power, heartbreaking stories and awesome companions?"
An awesome game for exploration, designed to be played with friends or to encounter strangers. Because real humans are 10x better than boring NPCs.

To continue the "review" (from a guy who has apparently NOT played the game):
"The game strongest point - its combat system - is unresponsive and laggy. Meelee build is just impossible or not worthy."
This game was never sold as a shooter, nor is this the games only strong point. Melee build is very strong, so apparently you never played the game or are veeeery bad at it.

"God forgive me for paying this sick joke of a Fallout 4 multiplayer mod the price of a full retail game. Costumers, speak with your wallets. Collapse"
Feel the hate! God, what pityfui creatures Bethesda fans are.

Buy the game, if you want a mild online suvival game, with a strong focus on exploration, collection and a narrative world. Yes there are NPCs, yes there is a story, yes there are factions you can join and yes, there is a lot you can do in this game. Im currently clocking at around 50h and have not even seen 50% of the game.

It's not going to be a game which everyone considers "timeless" that we'll all return to every 9 months and play for several weeks. The online portion will make sure of that. To be completely honest, it kind of is and also isn't Fallout. At least not the Fallout everybody has played in the past. Online is the best and worst part about this game, because - times out of 10 other players will cross paths with no interaction whatsoever - just passing by. The only way so far that I've been able to take advantage of it is actual

The game itself visually is quite stunning. For a game engine that's 7 years old, it does a decent job of making a good looking, massive landscape in our Next-Gen world of gaming. It is far more colorful than the previous titles. The bombs didn't drop that long ago so things aren't as brown, dull, muddy, and just all around dead. Some major overhauls have been made to the lighting, rendering, and landscape tech.

Do I think they can do so much better and need to upgrade? Yes. Oh my goodness yes. What they have is an engine with so many presets that they practically don't even need environment artists to create anything because it's already been made. All they need to do now is click and drag pieces into place. So when I heard they had created a world 4 times the size of Fallout 4 in this short amount of time, I was not at surprised. Todd Howard even made a statement, "We like our editor. It allows us to create worlds really fast and the modders know it really well." Yes, people will pick up on how to manipulate your games very well when nothing about the engine has changed in 7 years.

Aside from me complaining about their engine (which lots of people do and it's well deserved), the game was enjoyable. I spent a solid 3 hours playing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not sure how long my excitement for it will last, but for now, I'm going to playing in world of Fallout - a world I love so much. And like I said at the beginning; this game isn't perfect. But it isn't quite deserving of all this hate from people who probably haven't even played it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In short, Fallout 76’s addon wastelanders feels like the best quest mod I’ve ever played. Let me clarify. DLCs normally take you to a completely new place, like Fallout 3’s The Pitt, that takes you to Pittsburg, and Fallout 4s Far Harbor which takes you all the way up north to Maine. But this addon, which is pretty much the first BIG DLC for Fallout 76 doesn't take you to a new place, but instead takes the world space and framework laid out in the base game and expands upon it. There were a lot of interesting locations that just felt empty in the base game, although there still are the random wastelanders and new faction wastelanders add just enough liveliness to the world that it no longer feels completely dead. You can just roam the whole map and loot and discover stuff, and boy, there is loads of stuff to discover. Multiplayer works very nice, i love to team up with strangers or friends. Grieving is none-existent right now.

People who are used to the Fallout singleplayer games might have problems with this title though. The only reason for this is, that there are no human npcs. All humans are players. If you don't embrace that it might feel "empty". Thats an illusion though. Because of people being upset about it, it might have been a bad decision by Bethesda to do it like that, but the game is amazing. A real singleplayer game done in multiplayer and its full of content. Just no babbling human skinned NPCs, but its still story rich and huge, full of stuff to do.

Just make sure you like to play with others, this is the biggest part of the fun in this world. I can't stop playing alone too, though.

It's a version of the Fallout universe I've been waiting for.

Pros: Massive world, with immersive story lines. Some complain about there being no NPCs... but isn't that a good thing, when in life you're dealing with 30-40 NPC's per day? Finally a chance to get away from them all. Actually, they're all dead, but you can play their memories as holo-tapes all you want. Many of the post

Kill Super Mutants with a friend! Always fun.

PvP world with a very large degree of co-operation and very little actual grief. In fact, those who try to grief generally get bored very fast. If they don't there's always the option to jump to a new server. It doesn't take any time at all and you're in the same place when you land in the new server. Unless you've friended them they can't chase you across servers.

Did I mention a massive world with a ton of content?

There are other humans in the game! If that's not your thing, then you'll probably fit in with about half of them anyway. Most people on any server are exploring the story line on their own. It is fun to bump into people casually, but the game is a lot more fun if you're exploring with a group you meet up with regularly. I guess I hear a lot of people complain about this, but as far as I can tell it's only a negative if you're looking for something to complain about.

    Cons:
Pretty ridiculously easy. Although if you want a challenge, you can always restrict yourself to pistols and avoid the power armor. You could even ramp it up by not wearing any armor at all and going without stimpacks. Still though, it would be fun to have an uber-hard server where the people who hang really invested the time to navigate the world with care.

I guess if you love NPCs, you're out of luck. Try the local walmart, they hang out there in droves.

Great Game Makes So Much Fun. Such A Beautiful Detailed World To Explore. Even As a True Singleplayer Fallout Fan. And The Comuinity Is Just Great. No Trolls Just People Having Fun Playing the Game. Its Just Great And Fun to play

    What I like,
    1. Its Fall Out.
    2. The game itself looks great. 3. Playing Co-oP with friends has been largely a blast so far with 20 hours of game play time. 4. Fresh monsters. 5. The expansive environments. 6. Load times are quite improved from Fall Out 4. What I am meh about 1. As with all Bethesda games early game bugs suck. 2. Not sure how good this game is without friends.

I still like the game. My Co-oP review is an 8 ... but I am a fan of the franchise. If I was single player I'd say a 7 right now.

Long term outlook I am holding out for content patches and private servers.

For everyone else that isn't a fake POS "reviewer" who is genuinely interested in the game, maybe Fallout 76 can be for you.

Some users were asking if Fallout 76 was like an MMA. To answer that question, it's like an MMO in the sense that you seek out crafting materials, craft items, base build, share the experience with friends & other gamers & can trade items with people.

There's PvP with other players on the map that you will be exploring. You can turn on passive mode which will allow you to explore in relative peace without being bother by another player if you choose to do so.

Fallout 76's story is being told via recordings, notes/letters, clues, etc. Now, that's not to say there isn't a story within this game, there's plenty to discover and learn about in Appalachia. But this isn't a traditional Fallout title. This is more character & base building focus with multiplayer involved (questing together, trading and pvp on occasion).

All that being said, even outside of multiplayer, I'm still looking forward to solo play since I don't have friends that are picking this up. & I'm fine with a game I can kind of veg out to in the Fallout universe and do random quests and just building a character while potentially meeting a new gaming buddy along the way.

This is very much a create your own adventure game in some aspects. You can ignore those aspects and just do the missions though if you want. And get all the story aspect out of the game. Just don't go into this thinking the story will be as strong as a Fallout 3, New Vegas or 4 where it was solo story linear heavy with great side quests if you choose. This will still have quests to do but they will be all about adding to the lore of the Fallout Universe & the rewards for doing the quests will be in the form that will help grow your character within the game & give you materials to help build a gun or a base or armor.

This is a game I can see being added onto for years & growing it over time. & getting in on day one will be worth the journey if you are open minded about a different style Fallout game.

So far the multiplayer aspect is minor and can be ignored. Leaving you with a solid feel for a lonely dangerous savage world.

Lots of room to grow the game going forward, and its starting off with a solid base!

It's simple! when I'm playing fallout 76 I really feel inside a fallout game, when I play ESO I do not have the same feeling unfortunately. (without getting into the merit of the technical problems part of the game)

Honestly a really fun game to play, sure there are problems with the game, but many of said problems could easily be ironed out by the dev team.

I'm keeping this short and concise, it's only fun with *enthusiastic* friends, otherwise you won't play it. Even after the map is completely explored its still entertaining to complete the missions and design your camp. I've had this game for about a week now (as of November 23) and I can't stop playing. 10/10 best game of 2018.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this game! 10/10 !!!

New Vegas.
Fallout).

Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]

An unfinished game with bifurcated identity and in an almost dysfunctional state. It's hard to build on a bad base, that will never change. Like the war. [Issue#292]
