All information between the game's server and your computer is unencrypted. It is actually dangerous for you to play this game, as any other player can use this information to find out your physical location.

Ok the business model for this game is just wrong. But I don't get people complaining about the lack of story/gameplay. Back in Fallout4 the story was boring and fetchy. I do it for the sense of loneliness, the crafting, the weird monsters, and such. If you play this with your friends, it's a gem. If you were looking for a story-driven 1.0 Fallout experience you will surely get disappointed.
Moreover, Bethesda confirmed support for the game throughout 2019 so it'll just get better and deeper. Just give it a chance!

    3) There are no NPC's in the game, AI is stupid, quests are boring - go there, bring that. There are some good things left from Fallout 4 mixed in with all the garbage things from the new Fallout 76.

Keep up the good work, Bethesda. I'm giving you 0.

The bad: The freaking servers keep dying or freezing with disconnected messages, item farming is kinda broken since people keep leaving an entering World Severs to farm stuff which results in great instability with the online world. graphics optimization for PC are a bit clunky (for a change).

For €20/€30 it really worths it! If u love the Fallout series give it a go, u won't regret it! :)

This was a game I was hyped for and defended with every fiber of my being during the Beta. I loved every second of it and how it took the franchise in a new, interesting direction. But now, a few weeks after launch, and Bethesda has mishandled everything about the game with scandal after greedy scandal. Banning players left and right, refusing to fix bugs, failing to update the graphics, and literally ripping off their biggest supporters. Bethesda has completely failed in showing self-awareness and awareness in what the actual fanbase wants from the game, and has lost all my respect and my respect for Fallout 76 in the process. No more preorders for bethesda from now. For me at least. For that price they had a capability to make a great game but they ruined it. My advise would be start making demos for their games to avoid so much hate form the fans.

This game is not finished. They have not implemented any gameplay features beyond killing scorched, ghouls, rats, or super mutants that each have a different number above their head. The only difference in enemies is their level. You can't use certain tire irons or baseball bats until you've grinded the game for enough weeks to surpass level 50

This game has none of those things, it's just a cashgrab and shame on bethesda for releasing this pile of garbage.
If you're thinking of buying this game I advise you to go and see Worth A Buy's review of this game on youtube. I gave it 1/10 just because of the map and music being good. Everything else is pretty much trash.

    Pros:

    - Map
    - Music

    Cons:

    - Bad servers
    - No interesting/funny npc's
    - No real quests, only fetchquests/following holotapes 90% of the time.
    - PVP sucks and nobody does it
    - No real VATS (can't slow down an online game) ;)
    - No improvement from Fallout 4, just an online version of the game minus the interesting quests and npc's etc.

    I could go on..

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4 they all had stories, some had better ones some less good ones. My point is that the "story" in Fallout 76 isn't really existing. I had no desire of following it.
Then there are the many bugs i already had, and that even after the game finished beta which is there to find the bugs and get them out of teh game, but even after the beta ita had more bugs than Skyrim and Fallout 4 together. I liked the online feature which is the only reason I gave it any points at all but after about 20 hours of playtime I got a bug which kicked me out of every friends list and I couldn't even send my friends a friend request to get them back on my list/to get me on their friends list again. At this point I lost all hope in this game and stopped playing it after a last hour of playtime. There was no interesting story to follow without friends and there was no fun with friends.
I think Bethesda can do much better than that, shame on you Bethesda.

The reason I give this a near perfect score is because I would have given it a 10 but I marked 1 point off for some of the minor bugs me and my kids have experienced. This game is one of the most blatant cash grabs I have ever seen. Bethesda's reputation is destroyed after this travesty. I will never buy another Bethesda game, I have never seen a game Company lie so much and then release a garbage product with a SCAM EULA so people can't get refunds. There should be lawsuits brought against Bethesda for fraud.

This game is a buggy train wreck. I've never played a game more buggy than this one. I got this game not really minding if it had typical Bethesda bugs like enemies clipping through doors sometimes or enemies running around with plastic baskets on their heads. However, here are the bugs that I've gotten and most if not all of these have still not been fixed.

    1. Continually spawning naked or teammates spawning naked after fast traveling. It's a cosmetic issue but it's frequent and annoying. Once my friend who was playing a female character spawned as a naked man.

    2. Friend requests didn't show up in social for about the first month I played so accepting friend requests was impossible.

    3. Enemies that do not take damage. Ran into a very bad scorchbeast encounter with this issue and have ran across several enemies that do not take damage.

    4. Frequent server crashes. Multiple times I've started the game and joined server only for it to immediately crash as soon as I load in.

    5. One time I got stuck on a loading screen but my character spawned into the world anyway and a teammate who wasn't nearby noticed my health bar going down. I was attacked by something and killed while still stuck on the loading screen. So when the game finally loaded, my corpse fell out of the sky and onto the ground.

    6. A teammate and I entered into one of the mines in the game (just a regular dungeon for those of you who haven't played the game) and suddenly she wasn't there. She could see me, but I couldn't even see her at all. The game was treating her like she was on a different server. So I went to "join" her, thinking somehow maybe I was on a different server. When I "joined" her, she was nowhere to be found. Just a face full of enemies.

    7. Teammates or myself showing up invisible with nothing but a bar above our heads. Also invisible enemies.

    8. Quests that are bugged. I have started an entire quest-line with a teammate and only done that questline with them. Yet, if I sign on to continue it with them another day, suddenly one of us doesn't have the quest anymore even though neither of us had completed it. I also had similar with an event. The event triggered for my teammate and never triggered for me so I got nothing for completing it.

    9. The game almost never closes. It just crashes when you try to exit.

I'm probably forgetting some of the bugs I have encountered. There have been SO MANY. And the things above have happened multiple times. I am a HUGE Fallout fan and I absolutely regret buying this game. Save yourselves the money. In its current state, it's not even worth buying it on sale. It does have it's fun moments but honestly, every single time I play the game I wind up frustrated by all the bugs. The only reason I bother to even try to continue playing it is because I wasted so much money on it. At least I didn't buy the Collector's Edition (definitely don't waste your money on that).

This version feels very much like an abusive relationship & I honestly know from my past how these turn out for me. I really want to love this title and there are many things to love about it; the land is wonderful to look at but does not render when you zoom in on it. The structures you can build look nice and feel like they are yours but you are going to fight with the build system to make your structure. There are so many new things to find but no explanation is given on what the Mods do and most of them don't even state what item they mod or even how to mod your items... There are heaps of new creatures to encounter but they move in ways that just are not even close to realistic, sometimes not even moving their limbs but still able to easily "glide" after you. The lighting is wonderful unless you are seeing light rays shine through a mountain as the sun sets behind it or notice the glow of a light that does nothing to light up an area or just random light boxes that turn off or on because you are standing on one side of a doorway or other. The sounds are really nice and the environment sounds rich but then you look around to see the birds that are making noise and there are never any birds there are birdhouses that have been constructed around the place and even small setup where the time has been taken to show that someone was making and painting these birdhouses. And not just the missing birds but the radios that are spread around the towns are playing copyright music that gets your videos demonetised and you lose revenue because of this and you can't change the radios to music you may own the rights to because that just is not a function and the radios are tied directly into the "sound effects" so if you want to not get copyright strikes on your youtube you have to play the game with no sound effects.. Why is this even a thing? The map is massive and there is so much to explore and you hardly see anyone and that's really nice but if someone does walk into the area you are in every enemy respawns and you have to fight them all again and if that person is a higher level than you then good luck your about to get owned by all the enemies that will spawn in at their higher level.
I really wanted to love this game and I got it the first day it was released but I just can't play it anymore. I am level 39 and I am hating the game. I fight with the build mechanics and bad menu system to make a base around the workbenches to have the server kick me and I lose all my resource I put into building my area up around the workbench. My building is never on any of the servers again. In the middle of a battle, the game pulls up my weapons wheel when I am in combat? I am told this happens to so many other players. I love the little things about the game but overall I hate this and if I was a first-time player I would never buy anything from Bethesda after this and I would want nothing to do with any of the Fallout titles. This game is just broken and each time I play it on a Friday I am finding I am hating it more and more. Fix your game Bethesda I know you rushed it out to get the Xmas dollars, now mostly only hackers are playing your game. Oh yeah, the issues with hackers are getting worse. Able to kill you even though you don't fight back to finish the PvP activation. 1 shot your dead? So much for a good time. I am so mad and sad about this I don't even have words to say how much this title upsets me without swearing in many combinations of filthy words. Someone or many people need to be fired due to this poorly rushed game release. The head of Bethesda should step down! On the other hand, some of the level designers should be promoted it's only because out for eye for details and design did I stick out the game for this long. Oh, and the microtransaction store can F right off! Never would I spend a cent more EVER! Don't buy this game unless you plan to let it sit uninstalled until 6 months or a year have passed so they have time to fix the game.
Do not buy this title. Save your money and your loving Fallout memories of other titles. This game should not currently be played. It's bad and makes me feel sad and abused.

Atmosphere is amazing, the nature is beautiful, but game play is atrocious.

Any opportunity to be immersed in the game is quickly dissociated with a myriad of glitches or even basic game mechanics being poor. To be specific, every "cool" fight I experienced was ruined by my ability to avoid the boss or whatever monster by getting into a small area they cannot reach or even perceive me which I then proceed to enjoy the least immersive fighting of my gaming life where I shoot a hunting rifle until I'm out of ammo into a monster twice my level's head.

It didn't take me long to give up on this game, I have an insane amount of hours from fallout 3 to 4, especially 4, and what killed this experience for me was some stupid golf course riddled with ghouls which are one of the few mobs that drop no ammo but somehow make you waste an immense amount and so I eventually just couldn't deal with the grind of killing them with absolutely no loot reward while wasting my resources consistently trying to avoid the fight entirely.

I'll be honest I quit on this game early, but holy jesus... the quality is just nonexistent. This is a game for people who want to roam around and enjoy the atmosphere with no care for lack of immersion (to each their own). After fallout 4 and its beautiful community of mods I was spoiled with high expectations but this game didn't even meet the lowest expectations. This is no doubt a flop and my first actual review... ever... I made this account just to stress my disappointment with a franchise I loved. Not to mention the severe inability of bethesda to properly support their community.... seriously, you can't change your username without making a new account.. I even wrote to them and explained why I needed a new account name.. but that was unreasonable apparently.

If you want to enjoy fallout go back to fallout 4 and just mess around with different mods that bethesda doesn't even sufficiently support. It doesn't deserve a 0 because it would likely be an amazing game without the massive amount of glitching... like how am I supposed to enjoy fighting a dude phased through a wall.. or frozen in t-pose and not even shooting? But again, the atmosphere is fairly beautiful and walking through the game is absolutely enjoyable until you are completely disappointed by the garbage fighting that takes place again and again, assuring you that it isn't something you can ignore and push away just because you love the franchise.. at least I couldn't and I almost always side with the franchise giving them the benefit of the doubt... but I just couldn't ignore it for this game.

    Sorry Bethesda,

    You botched this... obviously.

I went in expecting the worst thanks to the internet as a whole and was pretty shocked to discover the game was way above my expectations.

If you like the more recent Fallout games then there's not really that much different here besides the huge and frankly gorgeous at times world. The only real difference is that the quests are largely dished out via audiologs and robots. To be honest I feel like people have misunderstood this feature somewhat and have taken to labeling the game as feeling lonely and empty but it actually allows for quests to be doled out and listened to by multiple users without each individual having to que up and talk to an NPC. It's a lot more efficient and the voice acting on the audiologs is top notch.

Speaking of which, there's a lot of dialogue, I mean A LOT. Honestly if you like world building there's a lot here to get your teeth into. The game was buggy at launch for sure which is a negative but it's no more buggy now than any other always online game out there.

There's way more to go at here than you might think. If you stop and smell the roses and don't blitz your way through with zero regard for the world you'll easily get lost and carried away with what you're doing from the campaign alone never mind the events and the nukes.

If they keep going with updates and stick with the game then I think it'll change a lot of people's minds in the long run. Give it a try.

Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]

An unfinished game with bifurcated identity and in an almost dysfunctional state. It's hard to build on a bad base, that will never change. Like the war. [Issue#292]
