Most of the bugs have been fixed, survival and building elements have been expanded on from fallout 4. Having enjoyed the original games much more than 4 I found I enjoy this as well

This game is great. MMO-lite, survival lite game with big focus on exploration and community. Try it out, you won't regret. Just because the majority gives it 0/10 doesn't mean that game reflects that score. No game I know deserves 0/10, so those morons should get ignored completely...
Think about this: If majority of people rated 0/10 to a statement that "water is wet", would that change

Think about this: If majority of people rated 0/10 to a statement that "water is wet", would that change the reality? Of course it wouldn't. People online are easily manipulated so the majority opinion cannot be always trusted. And it shouldn't be trusted in this case.

Poor marketing choices and a bugged start (even if not the slaughter they all wrote about) have undermined F76. Now it's a very good game with wonderful landscape, an interesting plot (that you have to find), great acting, funny to play and a Fallout-esque atmosphere. An online game, then under construction which is going in the right direction. The game has improved a lot since launch. It has less bugs and more fun quests. The new battle royale mode is also a fine addition. It's already quite polished and balanced even tho it's not even finished yet. And the game will only improve over time.

TL;DR - misunderstood powergamers heaven, PvP dream thats a nightmare if you won't git gud.

    The good:
    Excellent exploration.
    Environmental storytelling of superb quality.
Obscure, vaguely described, engaging PvP mechanics, so far poorly understood by the community, makes the pro vs pro PvP excellent. Writing this from a perspective of Titanfall veteran, this is a ridiculously interesting shooter.
Regular updates and new free content.
Initially, it tried to carter to various needs within a single gamemode, raising concerns within the players (i.e. coop people unwillingly exposed to PvPers). This has been solved since by implementation of new game modes.
    Alive and rather friendly community.
If you wanted to play Stalker, Battlefield and The Sims at the same time, Fallout 76 enables that.

    The bad:
The list of bugs, while shrinking, still is few hundred positions long. Gamebreakers were all fixed tho.
RNG has too big of role in equipment gathering, and its super ineffective. The main effective way to finish your character is to use player-to-player trading.
Staple element of Fallout - influencing and shaping the world around you - has not been provided yet (06.2019). Discussed Wastelanders DLC might change that in the future.

So far spent 900 hours in game so its well worth my money. Still got **** of stuff to do, hence will most probably continue playing.

Started playing during free week and except for the occasional disconnect I've encountered no real problems.

I understand why Bethesda didn't include stuff at release this is unproven tech for them. NPC's early on would've made the game unplayable crashed all servers all the time. Since the early days the game has improved on stability added tonnes of new features and has made it better and better to play. Yes it still has bugs but then so does every other game I know!

Personally the game for me is a seven in its current state, it has an amazing open world and quite interesting lore. The games bugs have been mostly fixed and its story is actually not bad, makes me wish that they game had NPCs (at launch) so we could have actually seen the events transpire

It's a blast to play - the amount of content, world complexity and general fun coming from this game honestly cannot be compared to no other vidya. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who liked the franchise till now, but was on the fence due to the negativity campaign towards this product. It's a quality game with amazing community.

This game was fun in the beginning already, even though it was flawed a bit by a rough start. Would have given a 5/10 before.

Now they really improved and gave an outlook to even more fun things to come in the future. My favourite game currently. Well done Bethesda.

If people are still bad-talking this game, it's because they haven't played it recently or at all. If you look around though, not even one of these complaints is legitimate any more. It was easy to see the game wasn't quite perfect when it came out, but because of the online nature of the game, it is getting consistent updates, fun new quests, regular bug fixes, and a lot more things that other Bethesda titles rarely see!

Don't jump on the hate bandwagon, give it a try for yourself! I've been playing since Fallout 3, and this feels like a natural progression in the series. People are also griping about micro-transactions for some reason? I really don't get it. The currency used to buy the extra COSMETIC items can be earned very easily in game. None of it gives you a combat advantage or changes anything but the appearance of the game (There are repair kits, but this is honestly just a quality of life thing, and it won't affect a firefight at all).

If you even liked fallout 4 remotely, it's a worthwhile purchase. It has crafting, building settlements, legendary weapons, scaling mobs, and hundreds of Easter eggs that really make these games worth playing.

It's disappointing how people get off on review bombing this game without ever giving it a chance. Sure it's not a perfect game, and sure launch was a little rough, but that's true of many many other games that didn't get crucified like this one. Simple fact is that if you go into it with an open mind and not a "WTF Fallout shouldn't be multiplayer" mindset, it's pretty damn good. It's disappointing how people get off on review bombing this game without ever giving it a chance. Playing since the beta, I can confirm most of the critic received was deserved (though being honest, seeing the "Most Helpful" critic on this website by Gorveth, 90% of that was provably wrong or incorrect, but the game did have its flaws during the Beta and early launch)

While I do agree Game Companies should release full working games, it was the first time they were trying for an online multiplayer game, on a genre that wasnt done before, so kudos for them for still sticking to the game even after the deserved backlash
(Also, why do people make a point by saying "hurr but the canvas/muh bottle" if it isnt related to the gameplay? The canvas alone I do agree was a reason to boycott it but throwing it around like it matters on the gameplay is stupid)

It has been 7 months or so since the release, and I am happy with the way the game has come along.

    Neutral points:
-Story that isnt only told by "robots", focused more on exploration. Some people might not like that, they might want the story not shouted at you by robots, but by "NPCs" (which are AI, anyway, by the way)

    - They are adding NPCs in upcoming Expansions.

    - There is a Battle Royale which is entirely optional, but you get cosmetics, level and money for your character on Adventure mode (The "basic" mode)

-Multiplayer: This can be either good or bad, not only depending on your views but because Players are different, some might help you and some might try and grief you (There are lots of system to prevent griefing though, so don't expect anyone blowing your stuff)

    Pros:
-Huge exploration oriented. Game tells mini story in almost every room of every mark points (and even on unmarked places)

-CAMP building is pretty neat, access for creative players to show their work to other players. Or create amazing death traps. Which are fun, by the way.

-Lots of Event quests (which some people mistook for repeatable quests)
These EVENTS are happening in many places of the map. These are random "quests" on some areas that grant you things to do, rewards, and fun! (For example, there are events where you can manually repair a nuclear power plant; extract uranium ores while defending from waves of monsters; Act like an angry biker group drinking, playing music loudly and drinking booze to summon a [REDACTED])

-WORKSHOPS are public "camps" you can capture and modify to your liking. They all have some kind of unique specialty to them. For example, the Power Plants are all workshops too, there's a structure in each that you can power up to generate Fusion Cores (for your power armor and some weapons). And since you're in a Power Plant, there are some Electric Boxes that count as Generators and provide energy for you! And more power if the Power Plant is repaired.
I also like giving the example of the ammo factory workshop, the closest Power Plant also provides energy on an Electric Box there for you to use, so even if you don't own the Power Plant workshop, you might want to repair it anyway! (Along with the rewards for completing an event)

-The music selection. Running away from monsters while listening to "Flight of the Bumblebee" never gets old.

-Most of the player base is actually very helpful, creative, and fun all around. But as I said on "neutral point", this is a random factor sometimes.

    -Bugs are actually being fixed!

-Future expansions are free for players.

-There are more points, but I'm affraid more would be spoiling some of the experience.

    Cons:
Not going to get into the disaster that was beta but:

-Server stability is still problematic. I rarely get disconnects but my friends sometimes do, and it can happen on the worst of situations

-End game still feels lacking (Bound to change with the new upcoming Expansion, but so far it feels bland)

    -Bugs are still a reality.

-Though they did manage to fix some unfixable engine problems (the unlocked FPS problems for example, among a few others actually), the engine feels outdated, it is something they could try working on.

-Bad popularity. Friends laughing at you playing a game hurt sometimes :(

Overall: As a huge Fallout fanboy (2 is my favorite, and while I do agree New Vegas had the most Fallout feel of the 3D ones, I kinda disliked it) This game feels like Fallout 4 online. And being honest, it is hard to imagine it any different, it is a take on a good way. Still needs polishing, but if the price is accessible enough, I suggest getting it and give it a try, and understand why reading reviews is risky.

Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
