It's the worst DLC in Fallout 4, the main villain sucks and the storyline is bad. It adds an option to build your own robots and make them your companions which is probably the best thing in the expansion. You can skip this DLC and still don't miss out on anything.

A room full of robots, a boring story and nothing of value in this awful DLC.
So far this is the worst Fallout game in terms of DLCs. If this is the quality that i should expect for the upcoming DLC, then i'm not even going to bother anymore.

Automatron is a standard DLC in the gaming world today. It has a decent premise that is never fully realized, ,includes a few new weapons, 2 New dungeons which are the standard walk, shoot, and slash bethesda affair, and about 3 static characters. In other words it's one of those DLC's you only buy if you reaaaaaaallly just need more of the game.

More of the same stuff that made Fallout 4 one of the worst in the series. It doubles down on shooting, looting and radiant quests with no rpg mechanics in sight. I have yet to see a justification for the season pass price hike outside of Bethesda trying to milk every cent before the release of their very lackluster content. I have yet to see a justification for the season pass price hike outside of Bethesda trying to milk every cent before the release of their very lackluster content. I bought this game hoping for at least a watered down rpg experience on par with Skyrim, but instead was treated to horrible base building and a mediocre shooter. The fact that more radiant quests were added with this "dlc" means that once again Bethesda both do not listen to or care about what the customer wants, even the diehard fans of this game are sick of radiant go here kill this quests. Well played Bethesda you got my money, but I assure you it's the last time. Expand

Fallout 4: Automatron for PC and I suspect all platforms is not very good. It is basically the mod for Fallout New Vegas Robco Certified, not as good and for money. Any idiot could tell you that it already has been done and Bethesda has been reduced to selling mod tier dlc. Bethesda won't get any more of my money while Emil is in charge of design. That goes for Elder Scrolls too. Bethesda,Fallout 4: Automatron for PC and I suspect all platforms is not very good. Creating your own robots is cool, but pointless due to their terrible AI. Why invest a fortune in upgrades if your dumb metal buddy will probably get stuck on a first rock he encounters? [06/2016, p.55]

Automatron, the first Fallout 4 DLC, focuses on robot companion customization, and really achieves a good result there. Nevertheless, the story is very short and, in spite of a really intriguing beginning, the ending feels extremely abrupt. However, this content pack is still a really enjoyable one and can provide, without any doubt, a few hours of fun.

Fallout 4: Automatron could have been a brilliant part of a bigger DLC package, but just like it is now is simply not worth your money. The changeable robots are cool, but the missions are way too short and not memorable at all.
