The game culminates into an expert combination of storytelling, survival, and community management, leaving me quite satisfied with the result.

Fade to Silence is a real survival game with hints of Souls-like that sets the mood and raises the tension. Even if its graphics are not top-of-the-range, the sets reflect the extreme conditions in which we find ourselves and the soundtrack is a very good match. It's a pity that there are still a few bugs left. If the concept of permanent death can make you angry, it remains an essential element, it would be a pity to ignore it by using the exploration mode, which we advise you to use only in last resort, since bargains and blessings allow you to restart stronger and save time.

Fade To Silence is a game that pushes all the right buttons, but it doesn’t push some of them quite hard enough. In a survival game, it’s important for hostile threats to be just as important as the resource gathering, management, and base building. The idea is there, the environment is there, but the mechanics are only half there when one half is a rather addictive base management system and the other half is overly simplistic combat.

Despite being in Early Access stage for more than a year, THQ Nordic has once again published a title that obviously needed more development time, and as a result is suffering from several technical issues. Fade to Silence is yet another survival game with not enough new ideas, but it might still be fun for fans of the genre due to some of its features and gameplay mechanics.

Fade to Silence succeeds in presenting a believable heavy winter setting, with pretty snow and effects that accompany it, but it’s hampered down by predictable and limited crafting recipes, derivative combat system and a very repetitive exploration cycle.

Stunning visuals and survival mechanics shine in Fade to Silence. Unfortunately, companion management, bugs, crashes, and uninspiring combat lead to an experience that you just want to fade away.

This could be a halfway decent addition to the ever-growing number of open world survival adventures. But certain design decisions like permadeath (which even From Software stayed away from) keep it from escaping mediocrity.

Immersive, sometimes beautiful and pleasant in co-op, Fade to Silence is a game that unfortunately fails to bring a polished combat system, a good narrative experience, or even a correct technical side (bugs, crash, AI issues).

Fade to Silence is a broken mess where even the simplest of tasks is frustrating.

Fade to Silence is an ambitious survival game with an intriguing setting but suffers from a laborious pace, poorly implemented mechanics and uninteresting characters and writing resulting in an unfun grind that never really pays off.

There are some positives, such as brilliant atmosphere, cool environment and interesting setting. But the negatives far outweigh them. Design mistakes, poorly thought-out features and absolutely atrocious combat consistently ruin any potential for having fun.

Butting heads with the combat system gets in the way of enjoying the game’s rich world. Nothing is worse than being ripped out of your immersion every few minutes and forced to engage with a jarringly flawed, broken feature.

It has good ideas and great ambitions within the survival and construction genre, but it is not possible to successfully transfer their to the final video game.

Wait for a few patches or smth, because of its still early access game or don't buy it at all cuz the devs just lost out trust. Full Review »
