This is a decent game for me. While the start got me sucked in with the thought of quick-paced action in a very strategic way. I was however disappointed as it turned into a 30 second rush to get as many unclaimed rocks, then a 10 minute wait to build up a ludicrous force, then 2 minutes for a nice steamrolling. If you want a good game though, Phage Wars on Armor games will get you the same basics, along with a much faster paced level set. TL;DR VERSION: Decent game, but I have seen flash games with the same or better capabilities. Expand

This is definitely a late-night game to play while watching a movie. It takes little to no concentration to play it (and therefore will receive little to no concentration from the player). If you decide you want to just sit back, chill, and let your brain melt, then this is a game for you.

Bland and repetitive gameplay. The game started out stunningly beautiful, until you realize there's not much more than that. Typical strategy game, got it for the cheap so I can't complain.

It's an RTS where you capture nodes with tiny, all-similar units. There are plenty of games like this on mobile nowadays, but this one is probably better than most of it successors. It's a good game, but it's not excellent.

It's an RTS where you capture nodes with tiny, all-similar units. There are plenty of games like this on mobile nowadays, but this one is probably better than most of it successors. It's a good game, but it's not excellent.

    The good:
    - nice graphics, though you will spend most of your time playing at zoomed-out view, and won't see the pretty pictures
    - pleasant music
    - the game has a few extra features (like defensive towers, an upgraded version of the basic unit and a few more) which make the gameplay less primitive than it usually is in this type of an RTS game

    The so-so:
    - the gameplay of capturing nodes is satisfying, but for a fan of strategy games it really lacks complexity. Such games work fine on mobile, but on PC they feel too underwhelming
    - the levels are relatively easy, but level 16 is a sudden jump of difficulty. It's designed like a puzzle where you need to retry a lot, learn what the scripted waves of enemies do and where they go. The scripted events keep the game difficult enough to not slide into boredom, but the basic AI is pretty average
    - you can't skip levels. Well, instead you can press "Stuck?" button to read a hint, which only proves that levels are designed more like puzzles.

    The bad:
    - you can't easily see how many units are in a given node - usually such games show a number. You have to keep selecting the nodes all the time to just keep track of the situation. There is also no notification when a node reaches a population limit

It's a small game which in 2017 feels like it was designed for iPad. You will have fun with it for a day, but the lack of depth won't let you stay with it for longer or replay any completed level. Grab the iOS version instead.

  1. Eufloria is tough, but not impossible, to love. You may have to fight through (or altogether ignore) the campaign mode to get to the good stuff, and even then you may spend more time waiting and micromanaging than you'd like, but I can't possibly deny the strength of Eufloria's most basic design choices.
  2. It's a beautiful, thoughtful curiosity. But somewhere in getting at the essence of strategy gaming, Eufloria has become a sketch, a distraction, a showcase, and a toy: it's an experience that you'll enjoy, rather than a coherent and satisfying game.

Pleasant enough, but it feels like little more than a glorified iPhone game. [Christmas 2009, p.95]
