An elegant and beautifully depicted strategy game that feels logical but fresh. Even if it is a little late to bloom. [Christmas 2009, p.110]

A wonderful passive game that rewards patience, so it's enjoyable while watching something else or conversing with a friend. Smooth graphicsA wonderful passive game that rewards patience, so it's enjoyable while watching something else or conversing with a friend. Smooth graphics and a nice ambient soundtrack to keep it ultra casual. Feels a lot like FLOW for the PSP, but with more strategy. Super easy to relax on this one. Full Review »

Eufloria is a pleasant looking game with a very nice soundtrack. If that's all you're looking for then you'll be very happy Eufloria is a pleasant looking game with a very nice soundtrack. If that's all you're looking for then you'll be very happy with your purchase. But as a strategy game it's very lacking. The game plays like this: You grow a tree. The tree releases seeds that you then send to neighboring asteroids to defeat any enemy seeds and trees that may be there. After you defeat the enemies, you can sacrifice a few of your seeds to plant a new tree or two, which then grows you more seeds to use to conquer the next asteroid. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. There are some basic strategy elements such as selecting the proper offensive unit type (high strength, speed, or energy) for the enemy that you're fighting as well as the ability to plant defensive trees but that's about it. And to make matters worse, you'll often find yourself in need of high strength seeds with only one tree growing them, forcing you to wait around for about an hour until you have sufficient seeds to use. Another glaring omission in this game is the inability to remove trees you've already planted in order to grow a new type of tree. I can only guess that in a game with such a "green friendly" premise, pulling out the old chainsaw would have been considered poor taste. If this game was priced at $5 or less, those flaws could be overlooked. At it's core, Eufloria is beautifully rendered and has excellent ambiance. It's a very relaxing game which is always a nice change of pace. But at its current $20 price tag I find it to be severely lacking in both form and depth and can't recommend that anyone waste their money on it. Pretty colors and music does not make a game enjoyable. Too bad that the developers didn't understand that, or else this game might have been great. Full Review »

While the start got me sucked in with the thought of quick-paced action in a very strategic way. I was however disappointed as it turned into a 30 second rush to get as many unclaimed rocks, then a 10 minute wait to build up a ludicrous force, then 2 minutes for a nice steamrolling. If you want a good game though, Phage Wars on Armor games will get you the same basics, along with a much faster paced level set. TL;DR VERSION: Decent game, but I have seen flash games with the same or better capabilities. Full Review »
