Eryi's Action is a 2D 'trapformer' by developer Xtal Sword that is visually inspired by Super Mario, but has gameplay akin to games like I Wanna Be the Guy.

Don't be fooled by its adorably charming looks - this game abounds in traps and wants you to die! However, where IWBTG was murderously difficult, Eryi's Action is additively challenging and FUN!

The "tough love" nature of trapformers means that Eryi's Action won't be appealing to everyone, but for those willing to take a few hard knocks in the name of learning the game, this is an accessible and enjoyable introduction to a peculiarly sadistic genre of game.

It is not often that a platform game is really different from another platform game. Eryi's Action is very different, because it is a platform game in which you will die all over again. There are traps everywhere, which makes this videogame very frustrating. Although it is a nice twist in this old genre, we are not quite sure it is much fun.

Alternate title: Umad? This game is a monument to every annoying, frustrating, BS death you've ever experienced in a platformer. No twoAlternate title: Umad? This game is a monument to every annoying, frustrating, BS death you've ever experienced in a platformer. No two methods of dying are the same, and this game will utterly troll you anywhere with yet another creative way to die. You start out with two lives, you'll probably finish in the negative hundreds. That aside, the difficulty in the normal game ranges from "moderate" to "fairly tough", and some sections will force you to problem solve. The demo released for this game does a good job of demonstrating what you're in for.

If this game has a drawback, it would be the length it's a pretty short game. Otherwise, the graphics are clean, the controls are fantastic, and it makes endless dying fun again.

I had my own epiphany in the second level when, after crossing an entire screen's distance without dying, I doubled back to make sure I hadn't MISSED any opportunities for death.
