    The game is just bad, i don't know why it feel like a downgrade from the first game. In the first game the sound and the movement is so much better, the story in both games are bad but in the DL2 is so much worse. and the hitbox it is like from a joke game from facebook.

    Please wait some time to buy it on a sale.

    Terrible, disgusting game, and the same terrible optimization, the developers also put Denuvo. And the main problem was that firearms were removed from the game, it feels like the action of the game takes place in the Stone Age.

    From writing standpoint alone, Days Gone is miles ahead of this game. Days Gone has more depth, more natural dialogue, more interesting world design, better graphics and so on. Why i'm even mentioning Days Gone is the fact how big downgrade Days Gone 2 really is in terms of open world zombie games over the years. It's even worse than DL1 in many areas.

    I played more than 150 hours on PC. I see lots of bugs even with last patch 1.4.
    Storyline is really boring and stupid. I don't see any new content.
    I had to start new game twice because of bugs.
    Now I'm palying NG+. Enemy's level is very high and they kill me easily.
    DL1 is much better!!!!

    The difference between what was shown in the E3 and what we got it is day and night

    And due the recent updates and management, it doesn't seems that the game will get any better and that E3 content will be added

    This game worths 10 dollars, but im not buying anything more from techland. I felt betrayed.

    This ridicilous trend towards overbloating the games with **** effects with no way to disable them have to stop.

    Can't disable Lens flare -2 point.
    Can't disable Bloom -2 point.
    Can't disable Lens Distortion -2 point.
    Can't disable Depth of Field -2 point.
    Can't disable on screen effects like blood, waterdrops ect. -2 point.

    Without the major problems this would probably get an 8. It is quite fun for the first 40 hours before the deja vu and "ubisoftasis" repeating structure sets in where you just do the same thing over and over again with copy paste clutter missions.

    However the reason I give this a 0 is because the game is completely unplayable without using mods to remove the horrendous HUD clutter in    Without the major problems this would probably get an 8.     However the reason I give this a 0 is because the game is completely unplayable without using mods to remove the horrendous HUD clutter in this game. It is probably the worst I have seen in a very long time and the HUD option "Immersive" is pathetic and like a slap in the face. There is nothing "immersive" about it and there are icons EVERYWHERE. The people in charge of the interface should get fired on the spot. You cant' even see at times because there is so much HUD clutter everywhere.
    I finally could play the game though after finding modders who have removed the HUD and the xray eyes etc. I can't review a game that is fixed by modders though but have to review it as it is when buying.

    Apart from the horrendous HUD there are also many other big problems with the game. For example:

    - Copy paste interiors that all look identical. They are complete 1:1 copy paste of one location to the next. Even the big GRE missions you go on are completely identical. Exteriors look great, but as soon as you get indoors it is like the graphics downgrades 10-15 years and you get a serious sense of deja vu.

    - Controls often feel unresponsive in some ways.

    - Even on hard difficulty the game is so easy you will be bored. It is like it was made for kids. Also many overpowered mechanics, especially the crossbow that makes every other weapon in the game obsolete.

    - Some of the most important "choices" in the game are made for you

    - Picking faction does not really have any effect on the game.

    - Dying has no consequence

    - Zombies feel more like an annoyance than something you are afraid off like in the first game. If you don't mod away the xray vision also then there is zero suspense since you can see every enemy through walls

    It is painfully buggy a year after release. I'm on my second play through in new game plus and it's buggier than I remember during my first one. I cannot call for help, I cannot accept distress signals, my game crashed today, the "Renegades" mission glitched and completely disappeared, causing me to lose over an hour's worth of progress.

    I am very disappointed.

    When I heard we were finally going to get DL2, I was stoked, I thought Techland would smooth out the combat and give us a compelling story that the first game truly deserved, and when I heard Chris Avellone (Fallout New Vegas & Witcher 3) was on board, I thought this was it, this game will go from great to phenomenal. 2018 E3 rolls around and gives us a 40 minute demo showing some incredible visuals, decent combat, some brand new story branching elements, and even some map changes depending on your "choices".

    Hey, to any gamer out there that has paid attention to the industry in the last 7 years... guess what happened next? 2018 E3 Trailer was a lie, the project turned into a woke political fest, there was major infighting during the development, the game was being overhauled, Avellone was fired for sexual misconduct allegations from 8 years prior, the game fell into development hell, came back out, got re-worked, has no sense of direction, release date pushed back a year or more, and finally gets this release. Do you still think it has a chance at being good?

    No, poor optimization, terrible writing, keybinding issues, quest breaking bugs, co-op doesn't work for quite a few people, cross-play which was promised initially is out, visuals are hit and miss, your choices do not matter, the factions are boring, the combat is the same as DL1, the characters are all uninteresting, the stay human mechanic is just annoying, and sadly the game is just not fun.

    DL1 is a superior experience to this game, so if you have not played that, go back and grab that on sale. The graphics are still solid and the gameplay is actually enjoyable. DL2 is DL1 without any fun. I miss the old grappling hook and swinging around like spider-man, I enjoyed having firearms to ignite barrels with from afar, I thoroughly enjoyed the night-time challenge with the volatiles and the grappling hook parkour, it was fun.

    What happened? My guess is the usual culprit, Politics. Techland hired a bunch of activists who were devoid of talent and were not competent enough to produce a title worth playing. They complained about a "hostile" and "toxic" work environment and wanted to oust the CEO and lead writer.

    Avellone was dismissed after an allegation of sexual misconduct in 2012 (8 years prior to allegation), which was filed by a friend of one of his former partners who was upset about a breakup in 2018? Avellone also countersued the party for false accusations as the claims were never substantiated and he lost work over the last 2 years as a result. Sounds to me like they were lying, just to get him removed.

    Marchewka, Techland's CEO, seems like a bit of an "obtuse" boss, but nothing out of the ordinary to be honest. If these people did not want to work there, they could have just quit, Techland is its own entity, they are not beholden to shareholders like most other developers are, so time crunch, muzzled creativity, and employee retention should not be an issue at all. These employees clearly had an agenda, and could not be satiated.

    Point is, you cannot reboot your game, mid-development cycle, and release a half-baked game that is clearly broken from launch and then patch your way to a completed product over time, that is called "early-access", and on top of that, they have the gall to sell a $129.99 [CAD] deluxe edition with skins. The Denuvo inclusion makes sense now, I would be very afraid of piracy if I released a game in this state.

    Metacritic can allow a million bots to throw 10/10 ratings, but this is not a complete game and it is an insult to fans of the first game. I would give it a 2, but bots gonna bot, so here's a fresh zero. This is not the same Techland from 2015. Politics has reared its head again and destroyed another franchise. Shocker.    … Expand

    One the worst gaming experiences I've ever had.
    1. Co-op is completely broken (literally can't even click the button)
    2. Controller buttons/actions just stop working randomly
    3. Practically every mission has game breaking bugs forcing you to start a new save
    4. The amount of motion blur is ridiculous. Horrible graphical glitches. Horrible performance.
    5. Entire game is a downgrade from DL1

    I tried to play the game, didn't make it past the settings. Cannot rebind my grappling hook ? There had to be 3rd party articles that showed you how to edit the input script to bind a simple key ? Yeah mate, it's a no from me. Glad I didn't pay any money for this game. No wonder it was a flop.

    It's better and worse than the 1st game. Parkour is more fun, story is better, combat abilities are better, but the bugs and glitches make the game nearly unplayable. While fighting enemies the game randomly lags while doing parkour attacks. Enemies are sometimes grey skinned mannequin looking things. Enemies will freeze in place for several seconds after you hit them then re appear andIt's better and worse than the 1st game. Parkour is more fun, story is better, combat abilities are better, but the bugs and glitches make the game nearly unplayable. While fighting enemies the game randomly lags while doing parkour attacks. Enemies are sometimes grey skinned mannequin looking things. Enemies will freeze in place for several seconds after you hit them then re appear and get a free hit on you, story dialogue is often muted. Sometimes I'll do several parkour jumps, rolls, falls etc.. with no sfx at all. Then roughly 20 seconds later I'll hear all the sounds that were supposed to play earlier while my character is just standing there. I'm currently on the final story mission and its skipping entire cutscenes.. Techland should be embarrassed… Expand

    My game has been ruined by the death loop bug. A bug that happens after they created a patch that was supposed to fix the bug. Can't even continue my game. Don't have the patience to start all over. Waste of money.

    У меня не супер-комп, я собирала его из неплохих, но относительно дешевых частей, тем не менее - игра, которую все ругают за оптимизацию, идет на нем без перебоев.
    Баги, конечно, встречаются (например, пару квестов я проходила уже трижды, а после загрузки они опять не пройдены) но это мелочи. Кто на такую    Обожаю зомби-игры и рпг - эта игра мой идеал) Здесь реально клево играть ночью.

    I couldn't find any positive aspect in this game: terrible punishment for Italian players (our language missing in the game); boring story and gameplay; no button assignments; no manual save system; crashes; bugs (many bugs); terrible graphics for a 2022 game; Denuvo added just two days before the realease.     I went through the whole game in one breath, but the ending KILLED !!! the whole impression of the game, I didn’t even finish off Waltz, I didn’t want to fall out in this sh/t so much. The ending banished a very good game, again. If you stole and finalized all the ideas of the first STALKER, you would learn how to make an ending like its authors    The Epilogue is just disgusting vomit.

    Всю игру прошел на одном дыхании, но концовка УБИЛА!!! все впечатление от игры, даже не стал добивать этого Вальца, настолько не хотелось вываливаться в этом дерьме. Как можно было изговнять хорошую игру - просто диву даешься. Если вы украли и доработали все идеи первого STALKER - поучились бы делать концовку как его авторы из А4 в METRO EXODUS.

Constant bugs, brain dead AI, meaningless choices, worse combat mechanics, glitchy teleporting enemies, lazy fetch quests etc.. but the biggest sin is that it's not scary.. at all.. the 1st one was very scary especially at night.     - рваный, куцый сюжет, его как будто придумали большим, захватывающим, а потом просто вырывали огромные куски, так как не успевали к дедлайну. Вы скажите, какой смысл обращать внимание на сюжет в зомби-слэшере? Я согласен с вами, но PR отдел давил на сюжет и его вариативность, как на сильную сторону игры
    - никакущая вариативность, опять же один из обещанных плюсов игры на деле оказался просто пшиком. Вся вариативность заканчивается на уровне финального диалога в квеста/сайдквеста и выборе зиплайнов или ловушек на месте захваченного аванпоста. А некоторые по истине вариативные моменты срабатывают через десяток часов, когда ты уже забыл о своём выборе.
    - финальный твист и в целом злодей вышли пустыми. Мотивации нет, он просто злой.
    - баги анимаций, кривые склейки
    - отсутствие системы ручных сохранений, переназначения кнопок, регулировки FOV
    - удерживайте X что бы лутать КАЖДОГО зомби, при том что даже не в каждом есть лут
    - удерживайте X что бы лутать плоские помойки с нарисованным мусором. 2022 год на дворе, текстуры из SAMP.
    - как это ты не хочешь держать X? Тогда ты не прокачаешь 9 уровней КАЖДОГО элемента своей экипировки, что бы получить +2% урона
    - игра максимально жёлтая, до боли в глазах
    - боёвка, ОНИ ДАЖЕ ЕЁ ИСПОРТИЛИ. Теперь это не зомби-слэшер, это РПГ! Сбивай полоски здоровья, бей врага, ему насрать пока полоска не кончится. И пусть у тебя в руке мачетте или что то другое острое, даже не мечтай об отрубании руки, пока есть здоровье.
    - стелс. промолчу.
    В общем некогда любимую игру превратили в плохую пародию на Far Cry. Спасибо, я в первую часть    … Expand

Horrible interface elements that only emphasize that you're playing some MMO project, oh yeah right, not far from the truth when 50% of the gameplay is about gathering, farming and crafting. There are just a ton of bugs, too many of them, crashes in the world, crashes when choosing dialogues, the main character can fall somewhere or get accidentally stuck. The open world itself does not shine with uniqueness, you still go exactly the same route, to the same sometimes the surrounding world feels like made of clay, when the same initial house walls feel as if they were glued to each other in a hurry. There is no balance in the game, passed on High difficulty and did not feel any challenges from the game, zombies as flying away as dummies in the beginning, and fly away at the end. Promised choice in story dialogues? HA! (Spoiler) No matter what you do, no matter what you choose, and there is no meaning behind all your actions, and at the end you stupidly have to choose which side you're on, that's it.

    Does this game deserve a score of 7-8/10? No, it's a crude, unfinished product which in terms of story, gameplay and animation is x2 times worse than the first part. What the hell, this game was famous for physics in its own way, and here we are like in Crash Bandicoot flying around the city with a piece of cloth and air from the vents so conveniently scattered around the city.

    The game has very poor optimization, on a ryzen 5 2600 processor, and a 1660ti video card, the game constantly slows down, gives out 30-47 fps. The game requires constant activation of Denuvo, if you restart the computer, the activation disappears.

    You are a big fan of the brand. You pay a few dozen dollars for the game in a preorder. Especially combat and all the physics is a huge let down. They lied about the whole "your decision matter" aspect of the game which was heavily advertised. Can't play co-op.     Hitting the zombies in DL1 feels more impactful with tangible stutters and has that crunchy feedback feeling and the zombies don't stagger easily and even pounce forward on you making it harder to slice them and even the kick has a bit of rumbling and vibration to it as it's impacting on the zombie. And when you fall from a high point, the wind speed sound increases and the camera shakes with blur as you're falling down. While in DL2, I dunno the combat feels more "game-ish" in a way, almost shallow as you're slicing air with minimal feedback and the zombies aren't as aggressive as the first game (it's like they're easy xp givers) and the kick is underwhelming with barely any rumbling feedback and there's no visible effect on screen as you're falling down, you just fall down with no wind or camera effect. And the graphics in DL1 have more "POP" to them, dark, contrasty, intense and atmospheric with that lens flare (aggressive lens flare from the sun as it blinds you and even from fire and electricity too), film grain effect and lite motion blur, you could really feel unease, tense and stressed out because you didn't want to go outside on the streets because there were hundreds of undead waiting around every corner and even crowded on the streets and open areas (like squares, intersections etc...). The graphics in DL2 lose that bit, no more film grain, no more contrasty atmospheric tension-filled look, no more lite motion blur and no more "fear of the zombies" feeling. It now has multiple layers of color (which is appreciated but strangely out of place since this isn't supposed to be a happy colorful world, this is still a zombie plague we're talking about here), you move and interact in a more "static" way if you get what i mean, there's no heavy movement with heavy motion (as a normal human being would have) like in the first game, the image is clean and clear with barely any visible aggressive effects for physicality (like how it flashes black and white when you get hit or fall down or how the weapon slice snap-rebounds off the zombie as the screen shakes).

    To me it seems that Techland made DL1 as the tough, grounded and physical zombie apocalypse game, but made DL2 as the shallow fun zombie Role Playing Game (that is different from what Techland set out to make with the first game)    … Expand

Lots of glitches, horrible storytelling, ugly graphics, bad optimization. Not to mention they hid denuvo until the release so that they could milk the preorders. Don't waste ur time and money on it.

    1.) Story telling is predictable thus boring. Story decision exist is just for the sake of being there, doesn't feel like it is necessary needed to be there in the first place.

    3.) Identical GRE labs exploration which lost it's unique identity while exploring, very lazy on this part.
    4.) Combat felt janky, cartoony blood flows from enemy and no physics on the ground, bad AI design, enemy take turns to hit you, why not all jump on you at once??
    5.) Parkour felt too floaty, restricted at times and did not feel like an improvement from DL1.
    6.) Lack of NPCs models, stiffed and soulless animations, downgraded NPCs lip sync with weird eyes looking directions while interacting(almost like mess effect 3), and lack of dialogues between main characters and idle NPCs. Limited NPCs movement, you can actually find point A to point B direction from where they move, repetitive.
    7.) Lack of crowd Infected at night, unnecessary spawns of howlers to act as alarm triggers within Aiden's vicinity. Lack of aggressive volatiles chase. Virals had personality in DL1, they were once humans recently turned, and some of that humanity lingered when you fought them. They could beg for their lives in brief moments before the virus took hold, and they could follow you where most infected couldn't. Even their animations and frantic clambering had love and care put into them. None of what made Virals interesting and memorable exists in DL2 and they feel no different than the regular infected.
    8.) Faction system doesn't feel like a choice, more like a chore. Choosing the peacekeepers over the survivors on a mechanical level is stupid because combat is way too easy and unthreatening that their boons provide useless value.
    9.) No unique repairable weapons, for a pilgrim that travel so many places, failed to obtain his own set of weapons.
    10.) Lack of explanation of what end game boss needed to tell the audience why he made the choices he had to, too many cliff hangers, cringe plot line.
    11.) Bugs
    12.) Why hire a hollywood actor when you can use that budget somewhere else like NPCs animations, more budget into story writing directions and creative combat design?
    13.) Why milk the main theme music into different tone of setting in the game and call it a day? It doesn't feel like the music is different while playing the game, just different tone with only one main theme and then picked apart. Feels lazy to me and not inspirational at all.

    Final thoughts, a disappointment for sure, a step forward with two steps back of directions techland is taking into. Will never purchase another product ever again from techland along with cdpr in it.    … Expand

(They used to be well intentioned capable devs that can write good stories, now just money-hungry shills, that make the buggiest game with the least likeable characters, and most poorly constructed story that really doesnt have much of anything to do with Aiden's actual purpose. Not to mention cutscenes not appearing, entire buildings not rendering, music that doesn't fit the story( playing upbeat techno music during emotional death scenes), the skills the game gives you not working, If I didnt know any better I would have thought this was an indie game made by a classroom of pigeons with only one wing. Is this the trend in gaming now? Make one alright game then just make **** after ****?

    These are a miniscule fraction of the terrible broken chunk of unplayable mess Techland is trying to sell.
    MY GAME HAS NO JACK MATT MODEL, NO JUAN MODEL, NO ROWE MODEL. Who are any of these people? should I relate to people I cannot see or hear? If I wanted to read a story I'd pickup a book. The SINGULAR AND ONLY decent aspect of this game, is the parkour. I am beyond dissappointed, I didnt ask for my money back for Battlefield 2042 because that game is still playable. Dying light 2 is more broken, buggy, and poorly made than any game to date. I highly recommend NOT purchasing this game for at least a few more months until they fix the broken product they DELIBERATELY AND MISLEADINGLY sold. These are discgraceful business practices and Techland should be not only ashamed of themselves as indivuals, but should face legal repercussions for ACTIVELY LYING TO ITS CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT THEY MADE. Once again the only decent thing about the game is the parkour. (which in itself is still relatively janky and unrealistic at times).     Most of bad reviews point out bad story, fals advertising, poor optimisation and boring gameplay.     Despite all my complaints, I initially had fun with Dying Light 2. The first quarter of the game was engaging. I think if the rest of the game played like this, I would have way more positive things to say, but the fact is that it’s just not done. This is clearly an unfinished game mired in mismanagement. I don’t blame the developers at all; the leaders and executives behind this work are responsible. What works here is clean and well done, albeit with some boring AAA niceties. After the first quarter or so, though, the game absolutely falls apart in almost every respect. I’m sad for what was produced here, but if I’m being honest, I’m more sad that I invested nearly thirty hours of my own time into this. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

    Dying Light 2 has proven to be a brilliant zombie game, thanks to the great parkour and combat mechanics. The story however is a bit flawed due to some really strange twists.

    There is fun to be had here, but aside from a few moments of joyous parkour, it's the sort of fun you can have in dozens of other open-world games. There is certainly some added fun in co-op with a couple of friends, but in a world where we get another open-world game every week, I just cannot recommend anyone go out and buy Dying Light 2 at full price. Especially not when it came out right before Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring, both of which look far more promising.
