    Need to give this a 10 just to refute the absolute **** ratings it received so far. The game is absolutely fantastic and the criticism for missing language options is pathetic.
    The parkour in the game feels fluid as can be and combat is great too. The story really isn't what other people claim here too, it's actually really intriguing and well fleshed out.     Satisfying parkour, decent RPG elements, expectedly deep story. I prefer DL1's favela-like environment vs. DL2's high-rise buildings, but still feels great nonetheless. Finished the game in 44hrs.

    A not so short review from an "omnivore" player (I play every kind of games and some of them at a competitive level). On top of that, I am Italian (which seems to matter recently given the review bombing from Italians).

    First off, I find the game really fun, I am enjoying it a lot so far and playing it at max details is a joy for the eyes - most of the times.     First off, I find the game really fun, I am enjoying it a lot so far and playing it at max details is a joy for the eyes - most of the times. RTX implementation is also truly great and makes you feel immersed and scared af, bringing back the DL1 nights feelings (which, trust me on this, is much lessened without ray tracing). Kudos on the dev team for delivering it at launch. Art direction, sound, gameplay loop, level design, combat, parkour, they are overall well implemented, which is impressive considering Techland is quite a small company compared to most of the big IPs working on triple A games. You can definitely feel their passion and dedication in DL2.

    On top of that, I believe most people are forgetting a crucial aspect of why a lot of games have been failing recently, which I believe is a MAJOR cause of troubles: Covid 19.
    Whoever works into software development, IT and production (and I do) would know how hard Covid hit us: even if development and co-work tools have evolved during the last years, being forced to work from home made creating quality code, bug free and aligned with design/art vision much harder than before, while direct interaction and in person meetings made the process much easier (and quicker too, imo). The whole development pipeline has suffered quite a lot by how hard it has been to keep a consistent workflow due to people getting sick or having their relatives/parents getting sick, as well as the giant psychological impact us, our kids and our generations suffered/suffer/will suffer due to Covid (depression, lack of motivations, lack of social interations).

    Looking at all the recent video games release delays or release issues (which I won't mention but that could be easily discovered through an internet search), seeing Dying Light 2 running quite well should be perceived as a great accomplishment. BRAVI!

    That said, it is clear the game would have benefitted by 6 extra months of polishing on pretty much every game aspect: models/textures, player animations/interactions with the environment, bugs, UX/UI QoL improvements. All things that could easily be fixed with more time. And, among them, a complete Italian implementation (even if just through subtitles): while it is clear that not fully dubbing the game was an intentional choice (which I can't understand due to the first game being translated fully...but they surely do have a reason for that), I don't understand why even the subtitles seem to be incomplete: all the encounters and the random NPCs you find through the single player experience don't have Italian subs (or if they do, they are all bugged and don't pop out), which is quite disappointing considering how interesting some of the stories told are. I fully understand English but a lot of Italians do not, and I think it would be a good sign if Techland moved into the direction of completing at least the subtitles implementation.

    All in all I still enjoy the game and Techland showed an incredible support on DL1, which is why I got the ultimate version of DL2 and why I have no doubts they will quickly fix everything.
    I also don't think a lot of Italians are truly explaining why the lack of Italian dubbing is so important to us: since the beginning of the movies era Italy had a major role into movies production and movies dubbing: Cinecittà studios in Rome were THE place to make movies, as known as Hollywood in the US. Italian dubbing schools are old and famous for having incredible talents that could transfer movies emotions even more than the original actors. That's also why it may probably be much more expensive to dub Italian movies/games than in another language. For us Italians, Italian dubbing is something serious.

    I know it would cost quite a lot but, if possible and if the game sells as much as it seems to be doing right now, it would be cool considering a full Italian translation/dubbing in DL2, many Italian fans would love it!

    Don't understand hate over a game at all. It's one of the very rare examples that makes me quite upflited about the current state of the game industry.
    I can't finish this review thanks to broke Metacritics review engine and 404 error.

    In some ways a step back from the first game, but definitely improved in others. If you enjoyed the first game you'll no doubt enjoy the second, but it's different. Techland have promised 5 years of support, and I fully expect them to deliver on that as they did with the first game, which improved massively over the years.

    I love this game. The sense of freedom and the random stuff that happens all the time is just a lot of fun to be part of. It feels like a real place when you are jumping around the rooftops. And the parkour is fantastic. Immerses you in the world in ways I don't think I've ever been in any other game. I feel like I am flying when I play the game.

    The reason why most people hate this game is that it has a very uninspiring permise. It starts off by putting you in a ugly portion of the Old Villador city without giving you any idea about all the cool aspects of the game. But if you can make it past the first few hours then you will be amazed at how much this game has to offer.     A really brave sequel by techland. All the good points of DL1 have been pulled up a level higher. Of course it's not perfect but I'm hoping for quick improvements. The fact that there is no other game like DL on the market is what makes it special.

    Dying light 2 is just dying light 1 but more and somewhat improved, i loved the first one and wasn't disappointed with the sequel cannot wait for the dlc to pick this game up again from the start with my friends.

Runs very well in 4K + DLSS performance and RT maxed out and is extremely stable (didn't have a single crash yet). Especially in HDR, thanks to "Special K" SDR to HDR conversion, it looks even better.

    If yoiu're picking up the game or reviewing based on an hour of gameplay you're going to have a bad time, Its an RPG the more skills you obtain the more fun you will have. Starts out slow and just continues to climb throughout the game.

    My only complaint is how far into the game you need to get the best and most fun Nightrunner tool.

Characters are also no so bad some of them make you laugh some can bring some drama and some of them you will hate (probably most of them but maybe it's just me XD). Core gameplay is still the same as in previous part except fact that some of abilities moved into skill tree some removed and so on (in general, the developers have made some changes, and each user can judge whether this is good or not.). The graphical part looks kinda the same (played the previous game a long time ago, but it seems that it is so) + ability to turn RTX and it works well. The last and most important aspect it's that you can complete the whole game (full main story) with your friends in the coop. Probably that last thing make the score doble increase (and bad ending) but it's another story XD… Expand

    I enjoy playing this games, with ambience when days or nights..
    Walking and parkouring in the middle of zombies.

    Maybe the stories and combat mechanic isn't exception but the feels you can run from zombies chased are awesome.

Main story is okay and our choices actually matter so we can see a lot of changes when we progress in game. Also side quests are very very good.     I love the game guys. Parkour and combat so fun. Also love skill tree. I literally play 45 hours that game and i focused side missions or activitys . Yeah i see bugs but not game broken stuff. I hear so much denuvo problem but honestly i did not get problem at all. My gpu RTX 3070 and and other specs 32 gb ram ryzen 5 3600x. Also game installed on gen4 ssd. 2k ultra setting and dlssI love the game guys. Parkour and combat so fun. Also love skill tree. I literally play 45 hours that game and i focused side missions or activitys . Yeah i see bugs but not game broken stuff. I hear so much denuvo problem but honestly i did not get problem at all.     If I had one criticism, it would be the choice in American voice acting. The voice acting is excellent, that's not the issue. The issue is the accent. Villador is somewhere in Europe. I understand that the English language version needed to have English speaking voice actors, but it would have been more immersive to have Europeans speaking English with their native accent.     This game is a 10/10 for me. It checks all the boxes. It's all the things in a game I love, specifically in the Action Adventure RPG category. I love the Far Cry series. I love RAGE 2. I love Cyberpunk 2077. I love the Metro series. I love Mad Max. I love Tomb Raider. I love The Division. I love the Red Faction series... and I love the Dying Light series.

    Techland... you've done it again. Improved above and beyond the first game, which I love, and will still always play... thank you... thank you so much! Masterpiece! Instant classic! So glad I preordered. Can't wait to see what DLC is planned, and what's next!    … Expand

    What an amazing game! Has a few bugs but will be fixed with patches just basic Game release stuff. So happy for once a company just improved there formula for what there game got praised about originally! Thank you Techland for such an amazing gift. Please continue and just let dying light be what it is and just improve it as you have it all already

    About 12 hrs into the game so far and I am just having a lot of fun grinding, killing zombies, looting, doing parkour, and other side content. I haven't even being doing the main quests that quickly because the gameplay loop is so fun and addicting up until this point.     A día de hoy un auténtico AAA en todos sus apartados. Graficazos con gran rendimiento, historia interesante con misiones variadas y entretenidas, misiones secundarias muy curradas, desarrollo de personajes de 10, jugabilidad muy conseguida y muuuuchas decenas de horas de juego.
    Y perfectamente doblado al español!!!
    Muy recomendable.

    This open world is just great. I personally have found no game breaking bugs. I am aware others have seen some. My experience has been pretty great. Story is kind of bleh but the gameplay, especially the parkour is amazing.

    Some of the good:
    - Parkour very solid and unique ( almost everything can be interacted with) - Gameplay - Pretty Interesting Characters - 4 Player Co op - Good solid Map to explore Mixed Feelings: -Respawn system isnt great -weapons can't be    Game is Very Good. Taking some of the best parts from the original and spinning it into something new yet not too radically different.
    Some of the good:
    - Parkour very solid and unique ( almost everything can be interacted with)
    - Gameplay
    - Pretty Interesting Characters
    - 4 Player Co op
    - Good solid Map to explore

    Mixed Feelings:
    -Respawn system isnt great
    -weapons can't be repaired
    - Early game stamina/parkour can be slow
    - Graphics are decent but doesn't feel next gen by any means.
    - Overall story isn't that rememberable (Aiden is probably the least interesting character in the game)
    - Factions system poorly designed
    - Some Bugs
    - Choices don't have as much of an effect as I hoped

    BAD:
    - Denuvo being here is pretty disappointing (pirates will get the better end game again)
    - Performance/Optimization is very poor (especially for this class of graphics)    … Expand

    Played only few hours so far, but love the city design, especially rooftops; indoor apartments seem a bit repetitive though... Plays smoothly 4K on my 1080Ti. Quests are ok, has a strong vibe of DL1, enjoying it so far.

I also really like how you are weak in the beginning (I see a lot of people compalining about this) but I really like it. It's a lot more immersive for me, makes it more realistic, and gives a greater feeling of achievement, as things take time to progress in. I like it. Haven't played far enough in the story to really know how much of an impact my choices have - so far I'm enjoying the storyline, but agrees that Aiden is a bit boring lmao.

    I wish there was weapon repairs tho, but maybe a bit more balanced than the first game. Here, your weapon breaks to fast, in the first game it lasted too long. (in my opinion) Overall a really good experience with room for some improvements.     Developers, don't be fooled by these **** who didn't bring the language, your game is a logical development of the first part, in the second you improved everything, something to a lesser extent, the game pulls 9 points unambiguously, for the heavy atmosphere, the screams of people who are torn apart by zombies, excellent parkour and a normal plot, thanks to the developers for the game

    I think either you hate the game, or you love it. Some ppl maybe riding that CDPR hate wave. Really weird, but I guess some ppl just have got a lot of hate stored in them. Probably didn't even play the game. Whatever. Have a nice day :)

    Very good game, great graphics, nice story, good optimization, but it's still need a fast PC.
    The funniest thing are people **** about optimization, but they still running on bad PC's.
    Read first hardware requirements and the buy.
    Only thing that bothers me are gliches and bugs.
    Overall good game.

    A really fun game where parkour plays an important role, a big city full of nooks waiting to be discovered. Add to that a fun dueling system and it turns out that the game has a lot to offer players. A funny glitch appears here and there, but nothing would ruin your game.

    But I can't understand all the hating and the racism for the Italians, I read embarrassing reviews (written by single-celled beings) insulting Italians and Italy (also saying a lot of **** and clichés) And it's just embarrassing, in 2022 still throwing **** over something like this, I'm losing faith in humanity

    Techland się postarał system walki i fabuła są bardzo dobrze ale najlepszy oczywiście jest... Parkour, nigdy nie widziałem grę z tak świetnym systemem parkouru. System walki ma taką wadę że wystarczy że będziesz tylko klikał lewy przycisk myszy i wszystkich wokół zabijesz.     Не знаю что людям не нравится в геймплейной части, паркур реализован очень хорошо, боёвка аналогично, стало больше приколюх, но основная проблема в оптимизации. Тут всё хорошо, кроме этой части.

    Great game, has some bug issues which will be resolved shortly I'm sure because of techland supporting the first game so well. If you enjoy running off walls kicking people in the face or leaping from rooftops to fight hordes of undead than you'll definitely enjoy this game. I wouldn't be swayed by people review bombing this is a solid game and people love to complain about everything anymore.

    Good: gameplay, side quests, multiplayer, multiplot story, cool sandbox, cool mechanics, and cool parkour (the best part of the game, every time you go to any mark, you're thinking how to get there, which way you can go faster and more handsome).
    Bad: bugs (a lot of, especially at story quests), no Italian (but it's pardonably), not that good story.

    A World full of little and big Stories. The night and Day circle is done well. Not to forget the many and creative easter eggs :)))

    But i give only 9 points because of Some Bugs.
    But none of them are really game crashing.

    With many more tools and attributes to use, it seems like Techland took a good risk in adding new features. New in game features are fun and refreshing, the developers took the original concept and added gameplay that is more immersive and story driven than the first game. The story missions (as well as the side missions) are more narrative based, creating a dramatic and reactionary environment.

    Dying Light 2 is an amazing sequel but it could've been better I liked the early Dying Light 2 more than what we got more but I am still happy with it this is one of the most hated games for some reason people complain about the bugs and not the actual game and they give it a 0 so unfair this game is not a bad game at all 8.5/10

    The game jumps higher than it can achieve: too many twists, too many storylines, zero of them fully developed. But it has a wingsuit, the combat system is great, the parkour is outstanding, and the characters are memorable.

    100 hours, completed the game, and quite some side activities. Can recommend!

    Probably best open world map and traverse mechanics. Impressive story variety. Sometimes cut scenes don't fit your story branch and there are a bunch of bugs and downgrades, but nothing that can't be fixed with patches. I suggest playing at least a year after release, you will probably enjoy it.

    I love Dying Light franchise because there is so cool mix between fps-parkour and actions, pleasant rhythm and nice curve of complexity. Dying Light 2 combines best solutions from the first part and improve it. Love this game.

    There is something to be said for a game that offers a real challenge and for me, Dying Light 2 IS that game. The parkour is perfect, the missions while not great are passable, the NPC interactions not the best but still hold my attention to a degree. The add ons and DLC are good but really hoping for mor in the future.

    DL2 is not a 10 but you have to compensate for the amounts of unfair 0s in Metacritic.

    While the narrative is not the best, some animations are worse than DL1 and not the best optimization this game is still a must play with tons of hours to get lost in this post apocalyptic world.

    RDR2 has a 6.4 in Metacritic, just saying.

    Despite all my complaints, I initially had fun with Dying Light 2. The first quarter of the game was engaging. I think if the rest of the game played like this, I would have way more positive things to say, but the fact is that it’s just not done. This is clearly an unfinished game mired in mismanagement. I don’t blame the developers at all; the leaders and executives behind this work are responsible. What works here is clean and well done, albeit with some boring AAA niceties. After the first quarter or so, though, the game absolutely falls apart in almost every respect. I’m sad for what was produced here, but if I’m being honest, I’m more sad that I invested nearly thirty hours of my own time into this. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

    There is fun to be had here, but aside from a few moments of joyous parkour, it's the sort of fun you can have in dozens of other open-world games. There is certainly some added fun in co-op with a couple of friends, but in a world where we get another open-world game every week, I just cannot recommend anyone go out and buy Dying Light 2 at full price. Especially not when it came out right before Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring, both of which look far more promising.
