There's only one way to experience the grand-scale battles, role-playing immersion, twisting plotlines and gruesome enemies of the epic saga that is Dungeons & Dragons: played out in one, realm-spanning, fate-defining quest.
Embark on the richest, most comprehensive journey possible within the Dungeons & Dragons world in The Master Collection. From humble beginnings in The Forgotten Realms at the start of Baldur's Gate to danger-ridden adventure in the Sword Coast in Baldur's Gate II, monstrous encounters in the untamed region of the Ten Towns of Icewind Dale and beyond, this is a must-have role-playing collection for the shelf of every fan.
Begin your journey in Baldur's Gate, based on the Dungeons & Dragons universe of The Forgotten Realms. Transform into a character of your own creation, using any of a number of races, classes and alignments, and journey from the castle of Candlekeep to the wilds of the Sword Coast, where you'll fight through massive, real-time battles, wield potent weapons and face brutal enemies. Then, continue the saga in Baldur's Gate II, where an uncertain future looms and a powerful foe whose goals go beyond a quest for power. In Icewind Dale and Icewind Dale II, step up to a new challenge as fearsome Goblinoids unleash a devastating attack on the Ten Towns and massive swarms of Orcs and Worg-mounted Goblins attempt to overrun the town of Targos. Delve into the realistic, intelligent and deeply developed worlds of Planescape: Torment and The Temple of Elemental Evil, and complete missions, the likes of which you've never before experienced. With expansion packs that plunge you even deeper into the adventures and extensive multiplayer battles that put your strategy to the test, this Master Collection transports you to a completely different time and place -- and transforms you into the warrior you were destined to become.

So Gaea, saying that they don't work on any of these platforms is bunk. Just make sure you have all your drivers up to date. So I think saying that these games are timeless and near perfection is a given. This great collection is the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend on a long, deeply engrossing RPG experience. I'd have gladly paid $100.00. Seriously. KUDOS to Atari for releasing this!! Expand

The problem is that, while the box says it now works functionally on Windows XP/Vista/7, it's lying. This game collection does not function properly on any of those Windows. Upon contact Atari, they told me that I should downgrade my Windows version in order to make for a more enjoyable play experience. Sadly I'm going to have to drop the rating to a 7 for that kind of pathetic customer service.

I'm running two Alienwares with top of the line specs. One is running in Seven, one is running in XP as well. My drivers are fully updated. I can assure you there's no such thing as these games working perfectly on a system with these versions of Windows. But just to make sure I'm not crazy I tested White's theory by taking the discs to three friends homes (you don't need a registry code or disc to play these once they're installed). One friend is using XP on a very old set of hardware. One is playing on Vista with 2010ish hardware and the other was on a new XPS laptop with Windows 7.
On all three systems the spell graphics in Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate would crash their system. Don't go auto-believing what White has said. Slap it on your computer and watch the fireworks yourself.
