  • Summary: Eons ago the Drox ruled the galaxy through their mighty Operatives. These elite starship captains were trained to accomplish the impossible at whatever cost necessary. Using these Operatives, the Drox built a starlane system for quick travel amongst the stars, colonized and conquered millions of planets, and ruled the galaxy with an iron grip for over 100,000 years. Eventually realizing their Operatives were a threat, they attempted to assassinate all of them. They failed. The following Galactic Civil War was devastating.

    Thousands of years later, the Drox are extinct, but the secretive Drox Operative guild lives on.

    As a Drox Operative it's NOT your job to manage annoying people, build thousands of buildings, play nice with your enemies, or balance the budget. It IS your job to pick the winning side and maybe even help them conquer the galaxy if you're being nice, more importantly though is to rake in as many credits as possible, well that and build the coolest, deadliest ship in the known universe.

    Drox Operative shows that innovation in the genre doesn't have to be limited to twiddling around with how skill trees work, or crafting the perfect loot drop percentage; it can also be about introducing smart mechanics that give a renewed sense of consequence and purpose to a player's actions. If you can get beyond some rough edges, you'll find an aRPG quite unlike any other.

    All in all, I enjoyed Drox Operative. It’s a niche game, certainly – graphically bland with some intriguing gameplay that situates itself somewhere between a realtime strategy game and a roguelike style RPG, offering a whole lot of replay value to those who end up getting into the game.

    Drox Operative is something entirely different from its peers among whom I'd count Diablo, Torchlight, Path of Exile, and Titan Quest. It's something familiar and it's something bewilderingly new.

    Drox Operative is an interesting experiment that blends hack & slash and 4X genres. The result could have been deeper but it's fresh enough to deliver hours of fun.

    Drox Operative is an absolutely unique game. There is nothing quite like it out there and if you are looking for that new experience, you are guaranteed to find it here.

    Drox Operative has a solid base and an incredibly advanced AI at its heart. It basically ticks all the boxes for the genre, but the later level grinding will suck your soul dry, leaving all but the most hardcore of players wanting something more.

    this is very ambitious title. many reviewer say this is Diablo sytle' game, but i don't agree.

    i would call this game as God style game rather than diablo like.
    you can operate the each races destiny by your hand.
    several races are trying to be ruler of the space. what you do?

    do you want your favorite race to be the ruler? yes you can help them.
    do you think human's smiling face is soooo annoying? then you can destory them.
    do you want to be a John Lennon? yes you can be. make a peace between races.
