    Epic game with hyper-intense gameplay loop of constant movement, weapon swapping, and decision making. It makes you feel like a demon-slaying god when you finally overcome. It's extremely engaging to the point that I keep coming back even after like 4 playthroughs.

    The Doom Slayer is more mobile in every possible way and the combat is even more fast paced. Enemies are smarter, more aggressive and more varied across the board. New abilities like the blood punch, flame belch and ice grenade have been added, and provide even more tactical depth.

    Overall Doom Eternal is simply everything I dreamed it would be, which is really saying something these days. ID Software should be PROUD of this masterpiece and I can't thank them enough for continuing on this series.

    Yes, there are some definite differences between Eternal and 2016, but nearly all of them are for the better. Combat is even more visceral, and while it may at first feel the game is forcing you into a certain play style, it's ACTUALLY giving you more control on how to manage resources. You have to play smarter, but you can also remedy any situation far easier than in 2016. It is preferable because it's much faster, but I was able to disable their points with different weapons or completely ignore them entirely, by overwhelming them with firepower.… Expand

    Doom Eternal is a masterpiece. id software (ID) has stuck to the same 27 year old formula that PC gamers fell in love with on MS DOS, and continue to improve on it with additional game mechanics, an upgraded engine, and new demons of Hell to slaughter while listening to excellent heavy metal music.

    I still highly recommend it. It's worth every penny. It just doesn't pull at me quite the way DOOM (2016) did, and still does. I like Eternal in the same way I like Doom 3. It's Doom, it's just a different flavor of Doom. If Ultimate Doom is Coke, then DOOM is adding a shot of rum, and DOOM Eternal is dumping it all out and getting a Sprite. Tasty, but not quite what I expected.

    The end result of all of this is a hyper-intense gameplay loop of constant movement, weapon swapping, and decision making. It makes you feel like a demon-slaying god when you finally overcome. It's extremely engaging to the point that I keep coming back even after like 4 playthroughs.

    Doom has evolved, it had to, it should do. You can play Doom I, II and Final in ZDoom wirh PSX soundfiles (which I really recommend) and all the 3d graphics glory that your old Voodoo couldnt handle, if you really want to revisit the Doom series. And you should, its worth it. But this? Wow. this is like Unreal Tournament meets Doom 2.

    Großer Kerl und große Waffen. Super Kick Ass mit einigen super süßen Arsch Kicking Super Kräften. Der Kampf gegen Dämonen, während Heavy Metal deine Ohren wiegt, ist ein unglaublich lustiges Videospiel.

    I got it when it went on sale for $20 (it does a lot) and it's good for that price. Good graphics and gameplay but i wouldn't even think about paying $60 full price for a story only game idc how good the story is. No replayability but i would suggest getting it when it goes on sale for $20 because the story and gameplay is fun.

    Stylistically this game improves a lot from DOOM 2016. The addition of a homebase gave me max incentive to actually track down all of the collectibles, which is something I usually ignore.

    After playing this for 1 hour I fired my boss and grew a beard

    Seriously, this is the most fun game I've ever played. The combat is faster than The Flash's season antagonist and the platforming is actually fun (it's sort of a rest from the combat, which does get tiring after a while). 10/10

    Recommended, the same fun you will get from Doom 2016 but even faster. Little piece of advice, try to play the Doom 2016 first and then Eternal, it gets hard to return to the speed of the game from 2016 after playing Eternal.

    This game is action perfected. The feeling of getting smacked hard in arena is frustrating, but the satisfaction of finally conquering it, and see your improvement at the game mechanics is the greatest satisfaction I've had in a game.

    This is guest pass opinion. I have yet to buy game myself. It runs super smooth due to excellent optimization. Gameplay is fast and good. Graphics is very good, wish I could run on ultra, but that requires to be rich boi.

    I got about 17 hours out of this game. 20 at the time of review because I wanted to go back and get all the "things"

    I also tried the MASTER levels - SUPER fun but *MAN* I wish this was Co-op....

    I did not try the multiplayer, nor will I ever.

    Look, if you like DOOM, this is a MUST HAVE.

    Nightmare difficulty is a treat on this one. Really great pacing and overall improvement over the last one. Highly recommend if you enjoy casual chaotic gameplay.

    Three things you clearly notice in this game:

    1-The sheer amount of noticeable invisible walls.

    2-Complimenting id for that Giant Demons Vista from the last game really went up in to their heads. Now they're EVERYWHERE!

    3-The amount of Quake enemies and sound fx. Wanna bet they'll release a Quake title soon?

    It definitely still is really exciting and adrenaline-inducing to play it. Even more so for people who can play it as it was meant to. Another important thing to note about DE’s gameplay is: you can’t play it like you’re braindead.

    This game is just brutal. It plays similar to previous doom games but has a much more polished feel to it. The scenery and graphics look amazing in Ultra Nightmare mode. The game is an impressive step from up the last Doom and is a exhilarating to play.

    Doom Eternal is about the perfect game when you want to just shut off your brain for a few hours and enjoy some music-driven demonic carnage. The scenery is amazing, the enemies are dynamic and interesting and there was even some room for a decent story.

    I'm mediocre at best with FPS games, which DOOM does a great job rubbing in my face. However, the way the checkpoints work, I can do a fight over and over again until I'm satisfied with how I managed to solve it. So if you're good at FPS games, you'll have plenty of opportunities to shine. If you're not but you have the fighting spirit for it then mission by mission you can claw forward.

    This game, for a relatively simple concept of "See demon, shoot demon", is absolutely fantastic. It's challenging, but gives an awesome feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat that one level.
    You just need to remember to KEEP MOVING. If you stand still, you're gonna get shot.

    One of the greatest games of our generation! They took a bunch of almost forgotten game mechanics from the 90's, then mashed it into an FPS game, and it works really well! It's also a DOOM game, part of one of the best franchises in Gaming history, so it's fast-paced, challenging, an fun.

    Highly recommend this to anyone.

    I used to be terrible at this game, a lot of deaths in Ultra-Violence. After practice, learning, and having a great time, finishing Ultra-Nightmare was fun. Events to keep players with fancy skins and other awesome stuff, gives this game more replayability.

    Oh man. This game is so good that I can't even... The bonus is that it runs extremely well on Linux and even a bit better than on Windows(like 5-15 and my gpu is not that hot which is weird?) at the time of writing this review.
    Do I recommend it? Yes, but be warned that Doom 2016 is going to feel so slow compared to Eternal.

    i usually like to post joke reviews but this game is to good for that there's so much depth to the combat, the movement is great, the guns feel fantastic, the environments look fantastic, and it is very very well optimized. on my GTX 1650 it runs at 80-120 FPS on high settings and 120-144 on low settings not to mention the game still looks great at low settings. The platforming is prettyi usually like to post joke reviews but this game is to good for that there's so much depth to the combat, the movement is great, the guns feel fantastic, the environments look fantastic, and it is very very well optimized. on my GTX 1650 it runs at 80-120 FPS on high settings and 120-144 on low settings not to mention the game still looks great at low settings. The platforming is pretty decent it's not amazing platforming but it's simple enough to never interrupt the pacing, it actually helps the pacing by working together with the exploration in between fights to give you something to do in between arenas rather than just walking. great game don't listen to the games journalists who claim it's boring.     Even more fun than the already great Doom 2016. Well-optimized, iconic soundtrack, much more variety when it comes to both demons and the slayer's movement in comparison to the previous game, a bit more story oriented while still not keeping the aspect too dominant. I'm not too fond of fps games, but this one's perfect. My only complaints - platforming can get quite annoying from time toEven more fun than the already great Doom 2016. Well-optimized, iconic soundtrack, much more variety when it comes to both demons and the slayer's movement in comparison to the previous game, a bit more story oriented while still not keeping the aspect too dominant.     This game is absolutely fantastic. I have over 100 hours in the PS4 version as well.

    This game is a what happens when a game developer takes combat design seriously. It's a masterpiece for anyone that appreciates engaging gameplay.

    Over the top yet strategic action with great weapons, music that gets you in the zone, ultra detailed and thoughtful demonic/futuristic/medieval environments with lots of secrets. Puzzles and platforming to breaks everything up nicely. It's just insane how good this game is.

    It's a great fast paced shooter, not hard to learn and its easy to jump right back in if you haven't played it in a while.

    If you're looking for a deep and thought-provoking gaming experience that changes your outlook on life, look elsewhere. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
