    Perfect. Even better than 2016. A lot of the players don't understand the new mechanics and how to switch weapons and are getting mad about the ammo changes. These people are literally mad because bad and it's kind of funny and sad. A lot of them only played a couple of hours and didn't play the game with the full kit. This game shows us how many mechanics we can put into an FPS and IPerfect. Even better than 2016. A lot of the players don't understand the new mechanics and how to switch weapons and are getting mad about the ammo changes.     TLDR: FPS of the Year! It is bigger, better, bolder than DOOM 2016 was, and it was a masterpiece too! The OST, the art, the graphics all insane, the gameplay is fast and tight, incredible!

    My only complain would be the jumping platforming thingy but after a while it is ok!

    It's like doom 2016 but with a hub world. The main difference would have to be the large amount of jumping from place to place. The upgrade system and way you find weapons is very similar to doom 2016. It rewards you for exploring with secrets hidden all across the map and overall one of my favorite games so far in 2020

    So i am a huge fan of DOOM 2016 and the old titles. This is a wet dream for veteran DOOM player. Visually it goes more for an arcade style mixed with modern graphics, but it works in context of the game that it is. It doesn't take itself too serious like the old games, while giving some great lore. Combat feels great, DOOM 2016 had the "issue" that you could run it with one weapon onlySo i am a huge fan of DOOM 2016 and the old titles. This is a wet dream for veteran DOOM player. Visually it goes more for an arcade style mixed with modern graphics, but it works in context of the game that it is. It doesn't take itself too serious like the old games, while giving some great lore. Combat feels great, DOOM 2016 had the "issue" that you could run it with one weapon only with the more limited ammo count and the enemy diversity this is not as viable anymore and at least for me thats a good thing. Platforming feels good and works quite well as a little cool down after some fights. The only real problem i have is that damn purple goo it limits your mobility to such a degree that if you manage to get yourself cornered you can do nothing about it and well some lava would have done it to in certain combat scenarios. Overall it is a great game and a contender for GOTY.… Expand

    Naturally the graphics are what they are, but the gameplay is spot on constantly. Also, you can play a few minutes or hours at a time depending on the situation. Colour scheme changes between areas, there's enough hidden stuff and all that. It has no real weak point and everything it does is done amazingly well.

    This game is amazing. I love everything about it. The Combat , The Platforming and most importantly , the damn soundtrack. This game is a masterpiece. And for the people that are complaining and giving the game 0's and such. They all suck , because they apparently are disabled and can't do some easy platforming. BUT , the story starts too suddenly.     The game is interesting, dynamic, although I think all these puzzles and jumps are superfluous, but in general it is the same Doom. Great graphics, music, customizable interface.

    Faster, harder, ultra-violent! Keep on ripping and tearing until it is done. A worthy succesor to DOOM 2016!
    Mick Gordon did again an amazing job on this heavy-hitting soundtrack.

    This is the BEST DOOM game EVER MADE! Phenomenally addictive and challenging gameplay. Classic doom was good for its time, but now? not so much. You don't even have to aim in that game, it is a joke compared to DOOM ETERNAL. Also, DOOM ETERNAL is much better than DOOM 2016. Well done id Software.

    This game feels like a fantastic evolution of Doom 2016 although it demands way more from the player than the previous game. To me this is an absolute masterpiece, probably best shooter ever. Beat the game on nightmare about 5 times at this point, can't wait for the DLC and more master levels.

It's fun, the music is outstanding, the gunplay is smooth and great. The campaign is almost doubled in length and the graphics look good. Ammo is limited but the developers understand that and added many ways of increasing capacity and ways to get more ammo. I guess some people dont like chainsawing demons. Anyways, its a fantastic sequel filled with fun, adrenaline fueled moments. People who rate this negatively are just upset because the game didn't cater to their wants specifically instead of what the community wanted.… Expand

The addition of improved mobility, a heavier reliance on resource management, chainsaw and flame belch really takes this game to the next level. I see a lot of people complaining since they struggle to grasp the new gameplay style of Eternal compared to 2016 which was a more simple gameplay loop.     My only legitimate complaints where the purple goop (a minor nitpick and not a common occurrence but I didn't really enjoy myself being glued to the floor and having to fight hell knights by tanking punches to the face)

    And the Marauder, an enemy that completely halts the gameplay and forces you to focus on him. He's not a challenging enemy, he's just an annoyance, especially when paired with other enemies in the arena. I feel like he's bugged, sometimes you hit him perfectly with the ballista while his eyes are flashing and he won't stagger, other times he will. Sometimes he doesn't obey his own "mid-range" rule and will fire his axe beams at medium or even close range. Unlike the other enemies in the game, he requires a specific style of play and he's not fun to go up against. If he was a one time enemy, then I wouldn't mind as much.    … Expand

    + Decent story with lots of lore

    + Incredibly well-optimized performance
    + Listens to community feedback

    - Occasional crashes and bugs
    - Platforming gets annoying after multiple playthroughs
    - Melee attack rendered useless due to blood punch mechanic
    - Requires Bethesda Launcher
    - Soundtrack launch mess is disappointing
    - Twitch/Amazon Prime drops isolate parts of the community
    - Arcade-ish design is a bit of a step down from Doom 2016
    - A few glory kill and unique death animations have been cut from the game

    Doom Eternal is an FPS experience unlike any other, and is quite the gem considering the state of the gaming industry at the moment. Fast-paced, smooth-running, run & gun/rip & tear gameplay that is an adrenaline pumping masterpiece that will fuel any power fantasy, and with an absolutely glorious soundtrack accompanying it, Doom Eternal is one HELL of a complete FPS package.

    I have to point out the aesthetically pleasing environmental design by the team at id software, it is an absolute treat to experience all the different areas of the game and the amount of detail that went into them. It is also worth mentioning that the team is also capable of listening to fan backlash and admitting where they went wrong and fixing it without condemning the community, there truly aren't many companies left that would do this for their games.

    As for negatives, some of the levels (looking at you Urdak) have an unnecessary abundance of platforming puzzles, the game has BSOD/crashed on me a few times and can cause corrupted save files, Twitch Prime drops are deeply disguised micro-transactions, and the colours of the pickups are starting to make me feel like this game is less serious than its predecessor.

    Overall, Doom Eternal is an absolute treat for FPS fans, and alongside its own predecessor, its one of the few good FPS games that have been released in the past decade, it is an incredible experience that I would recommend to any FPS fan. It is a 9/10 for me, the only major downside being the bugs and crashes that can occur and ruin Ultra-Nightmare runs, hopefully there will be a fix for this in the future.

Doom Eternal expands on Doom 2016 in gameplay and story and does so in a way that adds new depth to the saga and ties in the history of the entire franchise very well.
    There is more map navigation, which was certainly in its    PLEASE ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN. I feel like a lot of people either misunderstand this game or had unrealistic expectations. I found the game well balanced and intriguing. Doom Eternal expands on Doom 2016 in gameplay and story and does so in a way that adds new depth to the saga and ties in the history of the entire franchise very well.
    There is more map navigation, which was certainly in its predecessor, but the incorporation of climbing and the use of the dash was a smooth yet challenging new way to give the levels a sense of greater scale, whereas in Doom 2016 the use of double jumping and climbing onto ledges kept the game maps tighter. This may have been the best choices for both games given their respective settings.
    The combat has been tweaked in such a way that it almost forces a player to use there entire arsenal, rather than just a few favorite weapons. This is done by giving the enemies weak point that can best be exploited by certain weapons with certain modifications. And the use of melee is a must in order to preserve ammo for when it is needed. No longer is the relentless "spray and pray" type of gameplay rewarded as much as it was in Doom 2016.
    With the evolved combat system and map navigation Doom Eternal requires more critical thinking that Doom 2016, which may tend to annoy some players. I can understand that. In the beginning I noticed that my style of play that I used for Doom 2016 didn't really work, and it continuously forced me to adapt.
    If I have to be critical I would say that the story, as it gradually unfolds, only really starts to make sense after the half way point. Until then I found myself asking, "Why am I here and doing all of this again? Why am I going after these hell priests? Where is all of this going? The developers seemed to make the story a bit more convoluted by trying to tie the game in with the original pc games of the 90s and Doom 64. I think the franchise would have been better off treating Doom 2016 as a completely fresh reboot, whereas Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal function as a reboot in graphics and gameplay only mirroring Doom and Doom 2, so it makes the whole thing seem a bit strange. Since they are both a reboot and sequels at the same time.
    Still, I just played the whole thing from start to finish and had a lot of fun. Which is ultimately the primary goal of any game.    … Expand

    Let me put it this way, DOOM Eternal takes DOOM 1993 and turns it into a modern, complete experience that is absolutely worth playing. It's quite arcadey but very fun and the combat is INTENSE. Some people complain about the cut-scenes getting in the way of the gameplay but they can all be skipped so its a moot point. It's also brutally difficult. DOOM 2016 on Ultra Violence was prettyLet me put it this way, DOOM Eternal takes DOOM 1993 and turns it into a modern, complete experience that is absolutely worth playing. It's quite arcadey but very fun and the combat is INTENSE. Some people complain about the cut-scenes getting in the way of the gameplay but they can all be skipped so its a moot point. It's also brutally difficult. DOOM 2016 on Ultra Violence was pretty standard difficulty, while I kinda struggled on Ultra Violence this time around. To me this justifies the arcadey elements like the extra lives. Hell, if you renamed the extra lives "Death Shields" then nobody would complain because thats what they really are. You would die, you get your health bar reset and a few seconds in invincibility to get away from whatever was trying to kill you then its business as usual.

    Some of the enemy types *can* be annoying but most can be dealt with in various ways and the Super Shotgun is the ultimate multi-tool in this game as it can be effectively used on just about any demon while other weapons can be a little more specialized. Game feels great to play with visceral, unrelenting action and weapons that feel like I'm firing a mid-sized SUV out of a handheld cannon whenever I fire them. Some demons can be a bit tanky, by design or otherwise, but you usually have weapons to counter those demons before they show up. Also, the chainsaw is your best friend.    … Expand

    Doom Eternal summarised in 1 word is perfection. The game is superbly optimized allowing even the players with lower end systems as me have an equally enjoyable time. I played it on 1050ti and i5 with 8gigs of RAM and the game ran smooth and flawlessly without any compromise in visual quality.

The game just kicks ass, left and right. it is not for the faint hearted nor for the people who play at easy difficulty levels. Play it at nightmare or above for the ultimate doom experience.     Constant dynamics, excellent gameplay, good weapon customization, good optimization, beautiful graphics, hardcore - all this is about Doom Eternal. This game is not to relax after a hard day, it will take all your time and strength. 10 chopped demons out of 10.

    Initially i gave it a 0 after the impact of transitioning from doom 2016 to this.
    I have mixed feelings, i gave doom a clear 10 but for some reason i find this one to be a 8.
    It's a good game, really enjoyed it, but can't compare to 2016 feeling.

    Good game. Not as good as DOOM2016 for objective reasons such as:
    - Bad pacing, no need for platforming or the focus on story, focus should be on combat.
    - The need to constantly find ammo or lesser devils to refill ammo is horrible and ruins the combat experience.
    - Should've kept the DOOM2016 graphics and artistic features.
    -etc.

    Level Design: Level Design is pretty good. There's enough level variation (Earth vs Mars for example) for a 20 hours gameplay. Though level design isn't the reason why someone should pick up Doom Eternal.    Fast Paced, Fun, Ultra fast, High FPS, Awesome weapons, ice/fire grenades, intense, heart pumping, adrenaline rush etc are the words that I'd like to describe Doom Eternal as.

    Combat: Combat is where Doom Eternal shines. The fast paced combat is so good that I can literally play it again and feel the same adrenaline rush again. The combat sparked few opinions about 2016 vs Doom Eternal but I personally haven't played Doom 2016. Without 2016 in context, I found the combat to be super fun.

    Bosses: This is where I'm taking off a point for Doom Eternal. As much fun as Marauder boss fight is, the last few boss fights felt boring and repetitive and honestly didn't feel like doom eternal fights at all.    … Expand

    You can discover secrets in the stages and some collectibles help you improve your suit and stuff.I honestly don't want this game to end.The game introduces you new boss demons in certain missions,then those demons can spawn normally in demon stages mid-game.(If you are new to shooters don't choose normal difficulty.

    666/10 A must-have game for shooter fans.

    Same as Doom 2016 but without the flaws the previous 2016 installment had. The campaign is simply perfect yet a bit disappointing when it comes to boss fights. The final boss didn't feel threatening at all and I had no issues beating it. The soundtrack fits the ambiance and pace of the game so incredibly well. Time flies when I play this game and the immersion is complete, I highlySame as Doom 2016 but without the flaws the previous 2016 installment had. The campaign is simply perfect yet a bit disappointing when it comes to boss fights. The final boss didn't feel threatening at all and I had no issues beating it.     Very great game. One of my caveats with DOOM 2016 was the level design. After a while, walking down one corridor after another gets tedious. The wonder of being on Mars didn’t last long either. Therefore, I was pleased to see that Eternal is the exact opposite. You will explore multiple planets and realms, both familiar and new ones.     This game did it man. The beginning is a bit rough but once you get past that bit it's so enjoyable beginning to the end. I love this game so much and I can't recommend not enough to anybody who loves these high adrenaline games. 10/10

    Everything I loved about the first game carries over here and all the new added features were great additions such as the flamethrower, blood punch, dash, and especially the grapple. The level design also is improved here and the added mobility is great. The story wasn't all that special but the added lore was cool.     Every Demon has a weak point, so not only that you would have to use the right tools for the right enemy, but you would have to also consider playing smart, all of that makes for intelligent, challenging, and enjoyable game.

    Great game amazing combat. Exploration is now more rewarding than it ever was, collectibles are viewable in your fortress, Vinyl records that you found hidden are also playable there too, alongside other new and smart ideas and features that are introduced in the fortress which serves as a hub.

    Side by side, the music, and combat, the fast movement system, the different types of demons that require different ways of attacks and approaches, all of that come together to make one of the most fun and challenging games I think I ever played, I loved DOOM 4 but DOOM ETERNAL is everything I loved in DOOM 2016 and more.

    ok take Doom 2016, give it steroids, make it ♥♥♥♥ a demon, wait for the demon to give birth, raise the child with a crapton of steroids, bully the child until it's at least 20 years of age, make it snap, give him a gun and a chainsaw, then send him to school while blasting pumped up kicks on a boombox duct-taped to his forehead. That's you in the game.

    Blows Doom 2016 out of the water in every way. Combat is a lot more cerebral and the AI is very challenging. You actually have to solve a combat puzzle in Eternal instead of just spamming the super shotty or gauss cannon to fight everything like in 2016.

    As a sequel, Eternal delivers on many fronts. From the diversified visuals along with the environments they represent, to the nuances and mechanics of the combat system being *greatly* expanded. Eternal is as rewarding and complex as you make it.

    The gameplay is amazing and well known to be amazing. Doom has always been a combat first type of game. If the game isn't fun to play, then what's the point, right? And although the gameplay is the star of the show, the story beneath it all is friggin brilliant and well written. I love how most of the narrative is told through the codexes in 2016 and Eternal.

    This game is absolutely phenomenal. By all means, you should play it. The people who say that your creativity is limited in this game because of the weak-point system are just wrong, definitely try it for yourself. Don't listen to the people who say that you HAVE to play it on Nightmare, they're just wrong, play it at whatever level makes you feel like the ultimate demon slayer

    Once a player learns the rules of the game, once he understands the interplay between weapons, abilities, and enemies Doom Eternal becomes vastly more enjoyable than Doom 2016.

    It's the culmination of 25 years of FPS games. Intense, fun, and brutally difficult in parts. You'll die a lot but it never feels unfair and retrying is always enjoyable. If you like FPS games you probably already own this. If you're new to FPS games you should get DOOM 2016 first as DOOM Eternal is the sequel.

    One of the best first person shooters ever. Feels like StarCraft 2 as an FPS game. So much to manage and worry about. Simply perfect gameplay constantly. The campaign is a perfect way to learn all the weapons, movements, strategies, abilities, and more.

    If you like fast-paced FPS shooters from hell, then there is nothing faster or more intense than this that I know of. The best game in the DOOM series yet. Although DOOM 2016 is still awesome, DOOM Eternal is one step ahead. Action non-stop, mixed with some small puzzles and collectibles. Highly recommended!

    Easily one of the best FPS of all time. I don't know how they made it even better than Doom 2016. You get a chain saw and a hook harpoon attached to your double-barrel shotgun.

    If you're looking for a deep and thought-provoking gaming experience that changes your outlook on life, look elsewhere. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
