Oct 8, 2013F^%$ing stuipid game. Clearly the critics got paid off 88/100 vs 3.8 user score? Good job guys. If you like the old Diablo games don't touch this. It's been completely tainted by the wow designers.

May 17, 2012I have waited for this game for long time, I paid, but I cant play !!! The game server is really bad, I'm always waiting for log in and always been kicked off by game server ! Especially, so many error messages occurred! It means that the product is not pass by QA, but it is on sail, I feel very disappoint !
For DB3, BLZ is not the BLZ as before ! BLZ is dead ! -

May 20, 2012worst game by blizzard!!! why single player mode needs server response? why it can't be like starcraft 2? i understand making it online is important bcoz of privacy issue, but this is a stupid design, and activision and blizzard have to admit it.

May 15, 2012It's essentially more of the same, nothing new, kind of a dumbed down version of Diablo 2, all features that had interesting promise in the development were removed since Blizzards target group apparently either are in preschool or are too stupid to understand skillpoints.
Such a shame... don't understand the Hype.. what is new? Storyline is **** compared to other blizzard titles -

May 16, 2012If you want to play Diablo, play Diablo II. Then you'll be assured to get some quality game time rather than constant connection errors every 5 minutes. Good one blizzard way to screw up a good series.
-
May 15, 2012This game is horrible... its a counsel based based game for the reason of mass appeal!!!! pc gamers be warned! its a shames that we still give blizzard our money and they just sit back and laugh there way all the way to the bank.. its **** greed and its destorying this earth
-
May 15, 2012Story and dialog are atrocious! Blizzard must actually think they can do no wrong cause this stuff is awful. I can't believe all the hype surrounding this terd

May 15, 2012pay 45 euros, install it and just keep staring at your greyed-out login button. This seems to be the standard for blizzard games so you would think they'd be prepared...no. better wait a few weeks before buying this game.

May 15, 2012Terribad. The graphics and gameplay are so shoddy that it is barely a step up (if that) from the first Diablo game. Enemy difficulty is so easy that it is not even fun. Combine that with the horrible servers, constant errors, and no offline single-player and you get a huge steaming pile of fail.

May 16, 2012Decent game, huge production value, repetitive but deep gameplay. Yet deeply flawed because of the DRM. I feel like I don't own the game. I payed 60$ for 15gig of game data. I OWN them and I want to play them WHEN I WANT TO. So there: Blizzard fished up.
-
May 15, 2012A classic, solid hack n slash with great graphics.
Too bad it's unplayable due to some executive decision to not allow a single player version of the game be able to run without CONSTANT internet access.
Having to log in at the start to do an initial check is fine, but this is ridiculous.
Last Blizzard product I'm ever buying. -
May 16, 2012
-
May 16, 2012The always-on DRM is reason enough to give this game a 0/10. It is an act of unfettered agression against their fans. The game itself is pretty good, so it gets a bump to 2/10

May 16, 2012If you want it for the singleplayer story portion only, wait till it hits the bargain bin in a couple months. Its short and linear, not worth the asking price by any stretch of the imagination.
This is not the Blizzard from the 'good old days'. This is the 'we want to be like EA blizzard'. -
May 16, 2012A clone of Diablo 2 (which was a clone of Diablo I), fun to click for a few minutes and then just gets old. I'll probably only play this game for like 100 hours and love it. 0/10.

May 16, 2012Getting constantly kicked out of my game because of server outages... there is absolutely no excuse for online-only single player. This game is a joke.
-
May 16, 2012Unworthy of the Diablo name. Blizzard has gone way down hill. This is uninspired and unoriginal. Story is the same as the last. Skill system eliminates choice. No offline single player. They are penalizing the customer to save them money from people pirating.

May 16, 2012We wait 12 years in order to experience amateur hour in the launch of their Flagship game. Blizzard was a game company whose name was once a symbol of quality. What a complete disappointment and shame.

May 16, 2012Graphics are terrible, ridiculous to think that it took 10+ years for this complete and utter pile of garbage. Blizzards motto to "release when its ready" is clearly broken with this game. Half of it is already missing as it is! Customization is nonexistent. FATE a free game that came on my computer is better than this. Spell effects look like they are straight out of the 1990's.

May 18, 2012They spent over 4 years to develop a game that looks like an add-on or community mod to Diablo 2. Awesome, Blizzard! Investors won't be very happy, I'm afraid. To be honest, my 14-years old son likes it and finds it fun. He also says it's kinda like one of his smartphone games.
-
May 18, 2012The worst server I've ever seen. No way to log in the Asian server easily, the Koreans have done quite well to confirm they shall get all fist-down-boss "achievements" in Asia since no one outside that small country shall get logged in!

May 20, 2012Take into consideration that Blizzard is one of the biggest game developer in the world -
Graphics - Ugly as hell.
Tons of errors , unstable gameplay , laggy as hell.
Basic bugs causing the game to disconnect / crash still unpatched near 1 week after release.
What the hell are you doing D3 team ?? -
Jun 4, 2012This game has some nice idea and good potential but ended up a rushed, sloppy and lazy attempt to cash in on the series success. A whole sea of bugs, security flaws and server issues ruin what would otherwise be an enjoyable game.
Don't be fooled by the "professional" review sites shamelessly paid off as per usual for Blizzard games. Give this one a miss until Blizzard get their act together. -

Jun 19, 2012Cons: Story is terrible. Voice acting is bad. Cinematics do not live up to Blizzard's Diablo 2 quality. WoW inspired skills and skill system so no great character customisation. Real Money Auction House is a joke. Looting tables and item qualities are not rewarding.
Pros: Graphics (They could be MUCH better though), Sound and Interface. -

Jul 28, 2012No offline mode, shallow, repetitive. Too many essential features that should be in at launch are "delayed", coming who-knows-when. Trite, hackneyed plot, boring. Nothing of value here.

Nov 21, 2013Horrible. I haven't played the game in a year and I am still offended how Blizzard conned me out of my 60.00 for their POS-10-year-in-the-making follow up to D2. The number of things that are bad about this game are many but surely the pay-to-win auction house was the worst, most offensively greedy thing in the gaming world ever. I will never buy a Blizzard game again.
-
Sep 3, 2013Simply put this game breaks one of gaming's cardinal sins, its just godawful boring. No thought or creativity was put into this game and even a year later there are still server issues for an offline single player game.

Sep 9, 2013I was a big fan of the Diablo franchise, but blizzard's approach to this game made me completely unable to support them.
It's a true and undoubted deception. -
Sep 16, 2013After several hundreds of hours of gameplay I find myself regretting a large chunk of it. A sliver of the game is enjoyable while the rest is boring and dull.
-
Sep 25, 2013A shadow of the former Diablo's. Sadly this game does not live up to the ones that came before. Its too easy, and lacks the depth and breadth of the other Diablo titles.

Nov 25, 2013Incredibly underwhelming. Not worth your time or money. Cartoony, lacks depth, lacks character, storyline was terrible, zero replayability, the dullest ARPG I've picked up in a long time about as bad as Space Siege.

May 23, 2012Horribly over-hyped. First run was fun, but after reaching mid nightmare it was all the same. There is 0 replay value in d3, absolutely no end game content. Horrible decision to make it online-only DRM with no offline single player. Servers are always down or shutting down. Game was pushed out the door 60% complete and will forever be remembered as Blizzards downfall.

May 16, 2012Angry enough to finally sign up for a metacritic account and post.
I am always online. It is Blizzard who is not online. The game is completely unplayable with those hiccups.
Torchlight 2 - Come out soon so I can play with you without so many headaches.
Returning the copy to the store - cannot play game. Might try it again later.

May 17, 2012Simply the largest flop of 2012. No character development, overly simplistic grinding gameplay, overly simplistic skill system, terrible graphics and no replay value. No innovation and buggy as all hell. Bring on GW2.

May 18, 2012Lets play touchlight....
-
May 19, 2012Enjoying the game...when I can play it. Forcing players to be online all the time for SINGLE PLAYER, and then not having enough server capacity to make the game playable on a consistent basis is UNACCEPTABLE.
-
May 22, 2012Don't bother if you live in Austalia or NZ. Servers are always down our primetime cause we stuck with North American server. Can't even play single player due to constant online DRM. Can only review on the playing experience and pretty boring looking at error 33. Music is tedious after a while.
-
May 22, 2012A huge disappointment, no more skill points to distribute, no more attribute points to distribute, skills unlock automatically as you level up, WoW inspired skills. World PvP removed and the only PvP options is a WoW-clone arena. Legalized gold selling, pay-to-win auction houses - Scripted scenes EVERYWHERE.
-
May 23, 2012Diablo 3 is so boring you would have more fun at a bingo hall. Also the connection problems at launch are awful and show how incompetent Blizzard is. The graphics in game are also not close to what a Diablo game should look like.
Awards & Rankings
-
Aug 31, 2012My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.
-
Hyper MagazineJul 18, 2012For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
-
Jul 3, 2012When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
