Boring shooter. You can't even imagine HOW BAD single player(or coop) company is. Lots of grid without any point.
PC players are getting banned in droves for using things like discord or shadowplay while playing Destiny 2. No real response from bungie and no way to revert the ban.

Bland yet enjoyable shooting, but unexcusable company policy and treatment of players. First scaling back XP earned for bright engrams, then removing that but increasing your total amount of XP required, and finally gating off end game content unless players buy the DLC.

This game is a huge step back from the first one. The only thing that has improved is more cut scenes, but they offset this by literally destroying the established lore, and its pretty clear they have no clue where they want to take the game. Lastly almost no reason to play the endgame content, and skill weapons feel terrible and unrewarding.

Yay destiny for pc! Except it's not even close to as good as destiny 1, even though they just reused almost every game asset except gun models and landscape. They managed to ruin PVP and complete laziless and lack of vision results in a really sad product.

The game is extremely unstable. It will lock up and crash. It is near impossible to play though without crashing. Game crashes with a NULL pointer, meaning parts of the game were stripped out and there are bad pointers in the code. This is 100^ the fault of the architects of the game. Bungee should fire the entire team from the Architects, project managers and up.

The gameplay by itself is alright, nothing special, turn your brain off and shoot while collecting better gear. The same old mmo formula. It's good to reminisce of the Halo games on PC, as I have not had a xbox in a long time and haven't had the chance to play anything Bungie in years. It's alright for a few hours of shooting but gameplay? You can run past most of the enemies until you're stuck in an arena and must kill some to progress..I realized I don't have to kill the enemies and can run past them most of the time.. Funny. Anyway..for a humble sale I got my moneys worth and experienced what these so called modern games are all about.

Now Level lock behind paid dlc? I thought I was getting the full game with the humble bundle sale. Most games are free to play these days I doubt any paid games will survive for long, it's only a matter of time before the netflix of gaming comes along, see Origin vault.

Completely Honest Review (MUST READ FOR PEOPLE PLANNING TO BUY THE GAME)

Destiny 2 is not a sequel, its more of a reworked/reboot of Destiny 1 addressing all the issues that players had problems with and fixing them but in doing so, also introduced new problems in the process. To be blunt, I believe that this game is not worth your time or your efforts and is a very subpar game overall. Discussed below are the different aspects of the game, explaining whether the aspect is a strong point or a weak point of the game. I highly advise you read to the end of the review.

    Gameplay

The gameplay within Destiny 2 is one of the best in games currently and certainly the best within its genre being a Loot Shooter. Bungie has outdone themselves much like the first game with their intriguing "Supers" and abilities featured in the the three classes in the game: Warlock, Titan and Hunter. The mobility and verticality is something that feels familiar to players of COD Black Ops 3, Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare and Titanfall 1&2. This is accentuated further during the "Supers" where you truly feel powerful and almighty which makes for a great experience.

    Animations & Graphics

Again, credit has to be given where it's due, Destiny 2 has some of the best graphics in games today with cool, breathtaking animations that immediately make the user feel godlike and incredibly satisfied with the game.

    Story & Progression

The one extreme down point in Destiny 1 was it's embarrassing lack of story telling and that is something that the devs at Bungie took into consideration when creating Destiny 2. Although the story in Destiny 2 is a lot more comprehensive, it's by far one of the most cliche story lines in a game with themes recycled from other games as well as movies.

Progression wise, Destiny is one of those games that really gets you excited in the early stages in the game as any game should, with the early progression really keeping players glued to their machines, being as it's extremely rewarding and attractive. It was refreshing to see the new take on how the player obtains their "Super" ability through the broken shards of the Traveller where you complete a short mission to activate your unique 'relic' depending on the three subclasses being Arc, Void or Solar.

    Looting

The big boy of the game, one of the main reasons you play the game and quite possibly the ONLY reason you might've thought when considering the game. So, has it been done well? Yes but to a certain extent. Compared to the first game, where legendary weapons and armour were a chore to get and exotics were borderline impossible at times, Destiny 2 eliminates that by giving all players a fair chance to obtain the weapons they want without all the hassle. Early on, you will find how frequent legendaries drop and the few rare (but not extremely rare) chances that even exotics drop for you, which gets you hyped and yearning for more. Even within the main story itself exotics are given as mission rewards. Depending on your class, you will earn armour pieces unique to it with one mission giving you the rather difficult option between 3 formidable exotic weapons. As a consequence, this quickly becomes the downfall of the game as you realise the challenge, as in the REAL grind for exotic weapons, has been snatched away and soon, it doesn't matter what you earn from the game as everything stops feeling epic, given how often you obtain high rated gear. It was a great gesture removing the encrypted engrams that really sent people over the edge in the first game, but it really doesn't help the game's case when you spend hours grinding to obtain exotic engrams only to get DUPLICATES, meaning getting the same weapon/armour piece you already own. The exotic quests are nothing special, just a different way of eliminating foes and earning your "badass" exotic weapon at the end of it and so don't be too excited.

    DLC

Notably, the date of this review is extremely late and rightfully so as I just had to write this review upon the announcement of the Destiny Forsaken Expansion, priced at $55 AUD with $30 paid updates under their so called "Annual Pass". If you take into account the original price of the game being $70 itself with the two already released expansions - Curse of Osiris & Warmind - priced at $30 for both, the total price comes to $185 AUD. I'm sorry but this unacceptable and rather shameful to see how much money both Activision and Bungie are expecting from fans for just ONE game. It's outrageous that payments for increased end game content is now a necessity for these two companies where other games who work on a free to play model such as Warframe are offering their fan base rich, sustained and FREE updates.

    Overall

Score = 5/10 for the game before Forsaken
3/10 for the game after Forsaken

I would say just don't get the game but you're free to choose how you spend your money, just be satisfied. For your own sake.

Also at the 2nd play-through I noticed that AI are hiding behind the obstacles whenever I aim at them which was frustrating since killing a lesser enemy with such an effort and no reward for it was kinda frustrating...basically you have to approach the enemy in the melee combat to not feel the frustration...
So the game has interesting storyline especially I loved the "failsafe"..., but not so good boss fights and overall the only thing that I found interesting in this game is the first play-through. Afterwards the game got too frustrating booring and felt like I am in a fancy, but limited box which has nothing to offer after completing the storyline! Like go play unbalanced and unenjoyable "PVP" or spend tons of hours to get extra 1 armor or damage...

I really like this game. I don't know why did I started this game but now I'm quite addicted because of the lore, characters, loots, design, weapons, etc. I found some very good characters what I can really like or even hate :D
I joined this game in Season of Arrival era and god that season was so entertaining and very eventful. I managed to get a very decent amount of gear, and also find a dungeon which is now my favourite (it's Prophecy). In this season, I really get addicted in this game. I was even so hyped when the season ending live event happened. I literally was awake from 1am till 4am just because that event.

    HOWEVER!

    In beyond light, something changed.
The story itself was cool and entertaining and able to see Ana Bray again is a huge plus, also the whole story is around the Brays so it's not that bad. I'M still waiting Rasputin to return as an Exo lifeform. However the Season of Hunt is just....BORING.
Wrathborn Hunt (or watever what it is) is repetitive and short and way to empty and boring. Loots are not that amazing (but the seasonal SMG is good so that's an exception), weapons are boring and the fact that Bungie brought back the Seven Seraph weapons from Season of Worthy just completely turned those new weapons useless and unwanted piece of trash.

Also Bungie still can't separate the game between PVP and PVE which caused already so much problem like weapon disable, stasis bug which caused Trials of Osiris to delayed untill 18th of December. Iron Banner has only 2 new weapons and that's all. In Trials of Osiris, you cannot achieve all weapons because you don't have time to do it because of those delays. So the PVP content still screwed.

But what about the raid, Deep Stone Crypt.

Now that's a completely different story.
I'm not that Raid type of player but god this raid is so good and bit easy but the lore behind is so good.
I'm not gonna say something from the raid. Just play it and you will understand.
Raid weapons and clothes are so good looking and very strong!
The new raid exotic is just overkill.

Also generic game problem: Bungie for the love of god! Please fix the problem when enemies just popping to somewhere else! It's super annoying when I'm using my super and the boss just disappearing and reappearing somewhere else! Thank you!

    Overall, this game still 7/10
    + Graphics
    + Characters
    + Story
    + Loots from raid
    - Lots of bug
    - Lots of delaying

Edit 2020: Definitely don't recommend playing Destiny 2 anymore due to them removing older content and putting a cap on gear and weapons forcing you to get rid of things you like using and equipping newer stuff, further making you grind.
Also the more I played the more I realised how D2 has far too much time-limited content. This isn't fun they're taking this same bad decision further.

Good game but with way too many problems

Nothing is really explained to new players
You have to go out of your way to get the main quests
    Frequent disconnects and crashes

    1. Game has no social system. there is no LFG tool, there is no search for clan tool, voice chat is bugged for half people. regular chat work in such a bad manner that people never use it, or even see messages. Like you sit in your main lobby, asking questions in general chat, but than it's just you, no one sees it, because chat is always hidden.

    2. End game content here is PVP (which is alright) and raids and dungeons (which are pretty much raids for small groups). These raids and dungeons are pure mini games, like jumping puzzles, riddle solving and etc. They have no noob difficulty where you would go into a guided raid, learn mechanics and etc. Nope, none of that, if you suck at solving riddles or jump puzzles, that's it. Lower difficulty only means mobs have less hp and less modefiers, but why would you care for it if you still cant complete the mini game in time.

    3. PvP, mean while it would be fun, but they removed match maker, so now there ton of skilled PVPers griefing on people who dont play pvp, or play a little just for fun. So yeah, go ahead and have your butt kicked.

    4. Game is not region locked, meaning that at about midnight, you will meet mostly Asian players, Asain clans, like from Korea, where gaming is a job. God forbid you want to do some pvp.

    5. Game has WoW style gear thread mill, meaning that you grind out your item level to the cap available in current season, when season ends, all that gear goes to hell and you have to regrind it over.

    6. campaigns are bad, specifically they have barely any narrative, or what you would call a good story. basically, you run up to campaign NPC, he than talk to you (havent seen mouth move or any thing, just voice). Than you accept the quest (campaign) and watch 15-30 seconds cinematic, after that you go grind outposts or kill juggernauts for 30 minutes, come back, hand in quest, rinse and repeat. This is literally boring.

    7. Game has no viable navigation. after tutorial you're swarmed with bunch of quests and bounties (literally another version of quests, just different name). from that point on you dont know what to do. game doesnt tells you where to go, how to advance, what is important in the game (yes important because old content's loot almost entirely obsolete) and etc.

    8. lastly, there are ton of bugs which still sprout out of no where, thats in a 2 year old game, like genral bugs, like calling character menu with bind wont work, quests glitching (wont let you complete) and many others.

    9. ah one more thing. like in every game there is meta, which is fine. but guns that dont make it into the meta, are obsolete, to the point that teams wont take you into the raid if you dont have specific guns. Needless to say, in pvp people with "right" guns will always kick your ass, simply because their time to kill is way better than yours.

I feel bad as i already spend money on pass and 2 DLCs which ended up being trash, i cant get a refund as i played too long and i've only played for 2 weeks. I'll finish this season just to get my money worth and will part with the game.

I've played Destiny since the first game launched. I've had to take breaks from it for one reason or another. Starting with the last few DLCs of the first game I saw things being cut that really shouldn't have been cut and things added that shouldn't have been added. I've had to take breaks from it for one reason or another. Starting with the last few DLCs of the first game I saw things being cut that really shouldn't have been cut and things added that shouldn't have been added. The downward spiral started when Destiny 2 launched. You are given the choice of importing your Destiny 1 character, awesome. However there is no actual reason to import, no unique dialog options, no unique gear, nothing but false hope. Then in the first mission you loose everything and it was all set up as "Take back what you lost" its actually "Lets start from a Clean Slate" instead. Then the shift to seasons brought the F.O.M.O (Fear of Missing out.) This basically made it so you have to play insane amounts or loose out on gear, unless you want to spend $50-$100 to purchase season ranks. There is very little replay ability once the campaign is finished. usually limited to Raids, Strikes, and the randomly selected 3 weekly heroic story missions. The game caters to the hardcore no stop gamers who have no life and once they get everything they want either move on to another game or go into the PvP arena and make a nuisance of themselves. There is also a large emphasis on the Crucible PvP. all the gear gets balanced shortly after its released so there isn't an unfair advantage in PvP. This is more commonly called "being Nerfed" this ends up more times than not making the gear almost worthless. Doubly so for gear nerfed for PvP reasons as they become a hindrance in PvE. There is no realism, a sidearm user rushing a LMG while being continuously pegged in the face but still takes out the LMG user? Nope nothing wrong with that, perfectly good. Yea, I call that broken.

Now large amounts of content is being cut out because they are concerned the game is to large and they want to release more content. Now we are back to FOMO. This game is not casual player friendly. If you can't dedicate 3-4 hours a night and a good potion of your weekend you more than likely will loose out on portions of the game, and even if you do you are at the mercy of RNG(Random Number Generators) for loot. You can run the same thing 50 times and not get what you are after. Its very easy for casual players to either get fed up and quit, or just burn out from doing the same content repeatedly to get something before its removed. There has been some fun content, like season 9. But it was season content and was pulled from the game at the end of that season. Heck some of the content was even pulled during the season. Also the Forsaken DLC things were looking up, but it didn't hold.

Those who say the game has potential, i completely agree. However its unrealized and ignored potential. Example, Destiny 1 the Guardian could talk. Then near the end all of a sudden, nope they are mute now. Then in Destiny 2 the Guardian is still mute and the Ghost does all the talking. Am I the only one who misses the banter between the Ghost and the Guardian from Destiny 1? It added depth. Then there was the tease of voice lines during the Forsalen Campaign. But that was more of a slap to the faces, they only have like 3 lines throughout the entire campaign, otherwise nope, just Ghost talking again.

The change of Ghost's voice. This bugged be as Ghost went from "I have seen things, I know things." to the whole "I'm in charge, you listen to me" that he comes off as whiny arrogance. That I put on those who wrote the lines and scenes and insisted it be more "light-hearted" Both voice actors can do amazing things, but can only do so much when what they do is micromanaged by others.

A big issue is the games lacks content, and what content it does have keeps getting cut. The game supports 4k resolution, its NOT going to be small in file size. If its a size issue, make the game modular, so gamers have the choice what they want installed at a given time. Or if they want everything then they can have all 100GB+. As for FOMO, its a mechanic to try and force players to play more and/or spend Real Life money to keep caught up. its a disservice to players, same with Gaming as a Service. Too many games require a server to play and when the server is shut down, well, can't play the game again, even as single player. For this game you really need to think to yourself "Do i want to play for casual fun, or spend every spare minute I have playing in a complicated timesink of a downward spiral." Unless there are large changes, I see the Destiny series will continue to struggle, or fall apart completely.

For those who do not know, the softcap is 1200 (for the Season of the Hunt), which you can reach easily, because all of the common gear drops will raise you Power Level, but once you reach that, you will need to grind for hours and hours, to get Powerful and Pinnacle engrams. The only problem is, that if your Power Level is, say, 1207 and you get a Power 1210 weapon, your Power Level will not budge, and, keeping in Mind that there is a limit on how many Engrams you can get a week (because of weekly quests) you will need to grind for a few weeks, or even months. And this is only for one character, however I will get into that later.
Now, let's talk about the Bungie reward system. Personally, I enjoy it. Being able to complete an in-game task and be rewarded cause I did it, is, admitedly, pretty cool. It does have its flaws. First of all, there are many challanges that require expansions, and very rarely does a free-to-play challange appear. Secondly, the rewards themselves are not that exciting, most of them are jackets and pins, sometimes you also get an in-game banner. Secondly, sometimes the things you need to do and the time0frames you are given to do them are just ridiculous.
Now, for my third and final part of the review, the multi-character system. This one was made just so you would spend even more time grinding, in my opinion at least.

When there is more innovation in Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed, you know there was zero effort put into this game, they could've kept all content from Destiny 1 and added new content on top, but they threw it in the trash (Maybe to release in DLC later). This game is pretty on the outside(for marketing it's perfect) and disgusting on the inside(once you actually play, it's obviously just a cash grab). The art is beautiful, but why wouldn't it be? That's all you need to sell a game nowadays to people, pretty graphics and good music.

Obviously if the base game was good, why would anyone buy DLC (thinks bungievision).

This game could've been great, but money. They decided to re-release Destiny and remove everything good about it. It seems that Bungie looked at how The Sims can release a new game with zero features so that they can sell them later as expansions.

However Bungie seems to have forgotten that they are not selling their game to teenage girls. They dumbed down every system, they made all the loot the same, they made it so the "casuals" aren't overwhelmed, but are casuals really as stupid as Bungie thinks? I think they aren't.

Just because your testers are middle-aged men who never played a game in their life, doesn't mean that an average gamer wouldn't be able to figure out how your game works. Even casuals aren't as stupid as this game thinks they are.

I wish any of this meant anything, but in the end, they made their moneys and they will continue their **** business practices until they run out of people who buy their games/micro-transactions.

I am never going to buy anything that has the label Bungie/Activision EVER again. Fool me once... I can do without playing your generic ****.

If the first game was on released today on PC, not a single person would be playing Destiny 2 after finishing the story. That's how empty this game is.

When i first bought this game, I accepted that $60 would buy me half of a completed game, with the rest being locked behind expansion paywall. That's just how this BS gaming industry is now. Now that expansion 1 is out, I feel like I got about $5 of extra content, when I essentially paid for $15 since expansion bundle added $30 for 2 expansions. This kind of makes sense because this expansions was released two months after initial release on PC.

Let me repeat that: Activision and Bungie released a $15 EXPANSION 2 to 3 months after release of base game.

Okay, the DLC is short and doesn't add much. Let's accept that. Oops, half of the vanilla $60-half game is now locked behind DLC paywall. Good.

People who were fortunate enough to not fall into the season pass trap now cannot access prestige-level content that they once had access to. They are honestly the true winners here since they now have a very valid excuse to finally drop this sad excuse of a AAA title.

Other things that make this game suck.
    No chat outside of fireteam/squad.
No true ranked PVP (although they said they will prioritize this in 2018).
    No in-game stats.
Shader system built around microtransactions. (Shaders are consumable PER ARMOR PIECE). Want to buy specific shaders? You need to wait for it to be on rotation as well as use special currency that you get from loot boxes.
Boring endgame, nothing to look forward to since everything is so easy to get.
    Raid is boring and pointless.
    Leveling feels so dumbed-down.
Story is written for children. It's so cheesy and generic, the dialogue had me cringe a couple of times.
    Token system is no fun.
Long TTK in Crucible is to promote sticking with team, i get it. But team-shooting is the only way to win and it makes PVP so predictable and boring. No longer do we see exciting 1v3+ clutches. Crucible is basically follow your team or you'll die. There's not even teamwork since there is no tactic involved. it's just 4 people grouping up and catching enemy lone wolves.

I give this score 1 point for the amazing graphics and soundtrack. I would give it 2 points but good visuals and audio are basically nothing if the game is not fun and is a scam.

Please Bungie, i fell in love with Destiny 1 three years ago on PS4. I told all my friends to get this game, and you really let all your fans down. It took me 2 months to finally admit that this game is a disaster. Thank you for scamming us all.

I also want to give Bungie two big thumbs up for having the balls to deliver such a beautiful scam to contend for the epitome of the pinnacle of the mother of all scams: EA's prized jewel in which i don't want to name.

$60 for only 80 missions seemed wrong. Half of them re-ran you through the same areas multiple times with some different mobs and different voice acting. The same room was explained as different things depending on the quest. It was fun, but then I tried playing with a friend. We game a lot and don't have networking issues, however on this game we were plagued with disconnects. Also as we warped to different zones on the same map we had to communicate where we were as there was no map indicator. Strikes were OK, but the raiding is difficult unless you're part of a big clan. 3rd party tools are being used to find players, which require adding b.net friends and inviting them to a party and then dropping them at the end of the run.

tldr: not enough content for $60, missing a pug option or in game community system to find & meet new players. Already going to make my account useless in a month with DLC, so it costs about $100 to buy in and stay relevant for 9 months.

After you spend ~15 hours in the game you are done with the campaign at which point you are exposed to the outrageously lacking end-game content. This game also requires knowledge of the first game; if you don't know what happened in Destiny 1 you will have no idea what is going on. Not only is there almost no end-game content, but Bungie is also posed to launch a DLC that users have to pay for in December. Besides a few obvious differences like how they jump, the classes are extremely similar and only differentiate in a few ways. The talent trees for each class are extraordinarily dull and don't really change the way you play the game. People have said that this is a MMO-type FPS, but don't be fooled. This is not a MMO nor is it anywhere near one.

The good parts of this game are the combat systems and the looks of the game. It really is one of the prettiest games I've ever seen and the combination of multiple weapon choices and weapon mechanics make combat exciting. There's also no difficulty settings so you can't ramp up the overly-easy standard difficulty or turn off the hilarious auto-aim setting.

This game is no where near worth the price that so many paid. Such a disappointment.

Nathan Fillion tries to enliven what is undoubtedly the worst narrative he has ever been a part of, but the rest of the voice cast are utterly disappointments.

But hey, once the story is done, you can do public events. And side missions. The first is the same event on each planet - one per planet - repeated over and over again. The second are the exact same mission types youve been playing in smaller does.

I'm sure console players must think there is a lot of content but there isn't. The whole game feels bland. The PVE is a lot easier on PC due to m/kb controls and graphic advancements so you can outrange enemies easily. I think PC players were once again fooled into thinking that this would be something great on PC due to PC trailers. It's sad that we can no longer have trust for Bungie - another studio lost to their own greed and pride.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have not played Bungie's games since Halo, but if Destiny 2 is anything to tell, I am sorry to see the direction they are going.

Storytelling-wise: It's bad. It's basically Angry Birds. And nothing wrong with that, but whereas Angry Birds leaves out no open questions, Destiny 2 leaves a lot. You would assume Destiny leaves the plot to be uncovered as you progress in the game, but no. Instead, it just more bad layers to it.

I have not played the first Destiny, but as this is the first time the title appears on PC, I would have expected an introduction into the series. I think it's safe to assume many others would be in the same boat with me. But instead, the game does not provide anything to make out the story from the first establishment.

So as far as I know, I am some sort of Jedi, but my powers are drained in the starting cutscene. I am not told what we Jedis do with this power, except kill people. Also, the bad guy has a hostage, but I don't know who the hostage is. As far as I know, he is just another Jedi, but I am not told why I should care.

Because of the narrow and one-sided introduction to my Jedi powers, I can't even tell why I should hate the bad guy. Even if they destroy stars, I am only given one side of the story here. How do I know I, the protagonist, aren't actually the bad guy here? My Jedi powers are only for killing, after all.

Throughout the campaign, I am introduced new characters. It's assumed I already know them. That would be fine, but instead like in Witcher 3, I have absolutely no way to read their backstory.

Gameplay-wise: PvE: You don't benefit from open-world if it's dead. I have yet to find a hidden chest. When it comes to difficulty, as long as you walk, you cant die. You can clear out enemies from a safe distance. The game even incentives you for it, because it's quite efficient. I tried seeing if there's any reason I should rush, such as to skip waves of enemies, but there was not. Progressing in the everlasting tunnels requires you to kill the enemies within.

PvP: I could not fathom how people are so quick to pick up game mechanics. I got my ass handed to me with the hard to aim, but rewarding, handguns on the first day. The last time I mastered anything like that in a video-game took me months of practice. Then I recalled the game has an aim-assistant, which I had disabled.

    ---

The game is well ported into PC. The game looks great, and I did not assume it to run as smoothly.

But that does not save the game. **** baked in butter is still ****.

That being said, I assume there is more to come into this half-baked game in forms of DLC's. But unless the DLC's are outsourced, I would not wait for them. There are many ways to spend your time and money, but unfortunately, Destiny does not offer much for it.

Also the story is the only thing worth playing in this game, then you may have some fun in getting to highest power level. Thats it then - you are done and nothing left over to do anymore. The loot shooter or in more generic looter concept has been hidden behind paywall and does not make any sense in a looter. You want to find loot and feel rewarded for the grinding. However the game modes does not support this. You do not get anything rewarding from strikes or from PVP or from Raids. So why bother playing it and grinding over the same mission again and again and again? It is just booring and you simply do not get all the outfits and loot and weapon increase you would expect from a looter. So that is where the whole game fails.
Bungy does make the same mistakes again, that has been done with Diablo3 in the early years - trying to get money out of a looter by putting the main principle within a real money store. That does not work, cause there is no reason to play it anymore.

Beyond that, ethically questionable to put more then 50% of all items behind a paywall within full price game with DLCs . Also limiting the possiblity to get this items for free in a looter does not make any sense and is pure greed.

This game is both Awesome and Awful. I didn't played Destiny one, and this review addresses the entire game, including extensions at the moment I write this, meaning : Warmind, Forsaken and Orisis, with a little bit of Forges.

It sold itself as a mix between Warframe, Borderlands, Halo and some MMORPG stuff.
That's not wrong, but all these games are way better than this one.
Summarize : A not-so-bad game, but not as fun a Borderlands, not as dynamic as Warframe, and with a so-so story, with really timid MMORPG elements and waaaaayyyys to much grind and RNG.

First, lets begin by what is good :
Graphics are awesome, and the game is relatively light. There are a lot of stuff to do in the game, and a lot of Lore to explore.
The gameplay is dynamic without being too slow, there is some room for coordination between players and the camera switching (from fps to tps) when using certain abilities etc is well made and pleasant. You can feel the inertia of your hits, movements, and yet the gameplay is extremely fluid.
The build system, event if classes are not really so different from each others, seems at first really limited, but when reaching endgame, becomes really rich and the sum of tiny limited elements permits to do some nice and "original" builds. Every weapon is OK to use un PVE, even if some are better than others.

Now, let's explain why this game does not have a 10, but only a 2.
This game has one main issues : the progression system and the skin customization.
The progression system is a really grindy one, and not really fun grind. You need a "power level" the damages you inflict and you take are representative of the difference of power between you and the PVE opponent. The higher the ratio between yours and his, the higher you will hit and the lower you will get hit.
When progressing through the story, the required power level increases as well. At first this is not a bother, since you are into the game, and power level, given by your equipment, raises with every loots you get. But once reached the "soft cap", you need to do daily and weekly quests to get power level increasing and access new content. I'm at a point I finished the story of Forsaken, and I want to try the Forge. My power is 585 and the required is 615. Monsters there shred me while I need twice the normal amount of ammo to kill them. And it's frustrating, because it is not a problem of build or skill, only that my numbers are not high enough. Especially since the monsters are always the same since the beginning of the game...
Another part of the progression system that bother me is the randomness of the loots. There is close to no way to influence what type of loot you want to get, and most of the loots are useless after you reach the soft cap. Weapons and items comes with "perks" on it, changing their abilities, but these are also completely random. So you just have to wait for the right item to come with the right perks.
The idea is not so bad, because it somewhat forces players to try new weapons. But the reality is that if you like to try lots of builds like in a RPG, you will face a strong deception. As well as the exotic (rarest items possible) items, that are just as random as usual, and most of the time ends up being close to useless, especially because you can only equip two out of 3 weapons and 2 armor pieces.
The sadest part of this is that the game is extremely rich of achievements and lore, and that none of them are used to get stuff.
And armors are locked to a character class, so if you want to test all three classes at endgame, you have to do the grind three times somehow...
Finally, armors are random, the perks on it are randoms, and the appearance as well, so you just can't really choose how you will look unless you are extra lucky. But in this case you should just try gambling instead of playing this game.
Bonus : part of the gameplay, especially raids, does not have matchmaking and so you have to recruit people via clan or chat, unless you have five others persons playing with you.

as a conclusion, this game is not bad, even quite good, but is definitely not worth it's price and the price of it's extensions. It can be interesting if you have friends, like 3 or 6, to play with.

The amount of actual PVP Quick play and Competitive players could all fit in a small map. Its pretty small to a point if you wanted to block some players bungie would not let you due to the very limited pool of players.
But if you don't play PVP then the PVE is neat, its kinda dead right now, the season of the drifter doesn't give much to the pure PVE based players since Gambit is the stupidest game mode ever created. **** bring back TRIALSS if you really want to please people. I really looked for a word that can describe this mode and how poorly its design when it comes to weapons, classes, matchmaking but any other word that absolute garbage can come to mind. You have classes that can sprint and survive 5 headshots and 1 shot melee you, you get one class ult hitting a another in melee for 4 times and still dying 1 shot explosions, you get granade-launcher spawn everywhere.

This game does not deserve you attention, there are way better and loot-shooters out there with devs that actually care - like Warframe, or Borderlands, or even the new Remnant:From the Ashes

While Destiny 2 has a solid foundation and a robust story campaign, its endgame content feels a little lacklustre. The sandbox doesn't have a whole lot of depth, and plumbing each of the hub worlds for secrets doesn't feel that rewarding. Grinding Public Events, Raids, and Strikes with friends is definitely a lot of fun, but there's a huge disconnect between content being cleared and your character strength increasing. There's still a lot of room for Destiny 2 to grow but, for now, it's still got a few kinks to work out.

In a nutshell, Destiny 2 for PC is the same outstanding game we played on consoles, but even more enjoyable thanks to spectacular visuals, masterful optimization and much more suitable controls. [13/2017, p.75]

Play this great shooter with your friends, it pays off. Then it will offer hours and hours of great fun without the stereotype. But be prepared the endgame will thoroughly test your patience and willingness to grind. [Issue#280]
