Although in the new chapter Rufus is once again alive, well and goofs around as much as ever, don’t expect that he’ll get his “happily ever after” this time. On the other hand – who even needs that “ever after” when you’ve got a time machine? [Issue#208, p.57]

Doomsday is one of the weakest entries of the Deponia franchise, but this doesn't mean it's a bad game. Actually, it's a pretty good choice for point & click lovers.

Doomsday is not as good as previous Deponias – not as funny (but still funny enough), considerably easier and heavier on mindless minigames. [05/2016, p.58]

Deponia Doomsday is an experience hardcore fans of these series will love. Its humour is as crude as ever, the story is confusing, and its characters are still missing a few vital brain cells. But with a beautiful art style and interesting puzzles, Daedalic has delivered yet another solid adventure game.

Deponia Doomsday is a humorous nonsensical narrative-based point & click adventure that will challenge players to understand its absurd world, figuring out puzzles and minigames. If you are into these kind of odd themes, it could well be a very enjoyable trip. Else, your mileage may vary.

While it is hard to ignore the fact that it reboots the series and throws the other games to the dustbin, Deponia Doomsday on its own retains much of the charm of the series, with a stellar cast and a wackier than ever storyline.

The lovable-yet-flawed characters, the interesting, detailed environments, and the snappy story are definitely back again this time around. If you are new to Deponia, however, be prepared for some tedium and confusion to go along with the colorful fun.

It won’t mesmerize people who did not like its predecessors. It may even not satisfy all those who enjoyed the previous three Deponia games. Essentially it’s a love letter to the sworn followers of the saga, who won’t refuse to participate in yet another adventure of Rufus.

Deponia Doomsday is a great point and click adventure game that looks impressive and runs well. The story is pretty straightforward and the mini games are extremely fun.

A fun but too classic point'n click adventure that entertains but does not innovative in its genre.

If you can get past some of the rather tedious moments plagued throughout the campaign, Deponia Doomsday becomes a rather comical adventure.

Graphics, sound, dialogues and settings are ok, but with puzzles so illogical and not always fun, the result is not exactly a great one.

All good things must come to an end, and in Deponia’s case, they ended with the third game. Rufus fans would be better off thinking that Deponia Doomsday simply doesn’t exist.

Faint return of the popular adventure series. Deponia still charms with its original concept and humor …and even Rufus lost none of his charm. The devs from of Daedalic bring us an adventure that is good only with its story, but not with a gameplay.

  1. Clearly the Deponia series is loved by enough people for them to keep making more of them, so I’m sure this will be as gleefully received as the rest. But it’s a nasty, stupid, and most damningly of all, badly constructed adventure game. The animations and art are lovely as ever, the music’s great, most of the voice actors are decent enough, but good grief, please, no more. Just make it stop.

He's a meanie and an egoist and he provokes emotion. The humor is crude and snappy and the characters range from lovely to awkward. The 4th installation of this great series again is a delight to play! One of the best point and click games ever Full Review »
