Deathtrap's unique take on the tower defense genre by expanding player interaction with action and role-playing gameplay elements results in an entertaining and worthwhile experience. Both fans of tower defense and role-playing games are recommended to take a journey into the world of Deathtrap.

Deathtrap is a fresh combination of an action RPG and a Tower Defense-game. The game is quite challenging with a steep learning curve, but repays that with great mechanics, 4-player co-op and a cheap price.

As it is, Deathtrap approaches the qualitative apex of its craft and niggles aside, sets a splendid example of how to marry two genres together to make a superlative whole.

Even though it’s not a flawless game, Deathtrap has the potential to redefine the tower defense genre and make it more addictive than ever. The combat feels smooth and the multitude of choices you have to take during each scenario keeps you interesting more than other tower defense games.

Neocore Games has mixed two different genres in an unique tower defense. Despite some balance issues, Deathtrap is a fun game, able to keep the player engaged for several hours.

A nice variation of the classic tower defense formula, with frenetic and interesting fights and lots of customization and modes on offer.

Deathtrap brings hectic tower defence, satisfying Diablo-style combat and compelling persistent progression together in ultraviolent gothic style. Smart design choices and satisfyingly hectic moments abound, while the level editor is a stroke of genius.

Interesting mix of hack&slay and tower defense, that shines in coop, but falls short in terms of towers and traps. Good clean fun, though.

Deathtrap is a perfect mixture between a tower defense and an action RPG, fun to play, durable and technically pleasing. The editor is an important added value, such as co-op and the competitive price.

Despite the ambitious combo of two different kind of games, Deathtrap does not disappoint. In combination with the affordable price, it is highly recommended to fans of both ARPG and Tower Defense.

I was pleasantly surprised and had an enjoyable time playing with multiple characters and building their skill trees to suit my play style. Without the cooperative mode, I would have been done with the game quite quickly, but being able to play with friends and strategize in the harder difficulties is worth the price of admission.

The large amount of traps and power-ups keeps you playing and the combination with Hack & Slay is well done.

Deathtrap "is a trap every man of common sense would be happy to fall into", thanks to its catching tower defense gameplay with arpg elements imported from The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. An ephemeral beauty, though, especially for those who have already enjoyed it in the main saga.

If you like tower defence, you'll enjoy this fresh take on it. If you're an ARPG fan, you might be disappointed by some of the design decisions, but you might also be pleasantly surprised by the novel gameplay.

Deathtrap is definitely worth your time. Though, it is more like a TD-themed expansion to Van Helsing rather than a proper stand-alone game.

It's a nifty little time-waster that Neocore's created here, and while there could and should be a lot more content in the future, the game we've got right now nonetheless makes a convincing bid for your time.

If you have friends to face since from the very beginning, this could be the tower defense you were looking for. In single player, unfortunately, it loses much of its appeal, while remaining a valid title.

Deathtrap is a fun monster-killing, loot collecting, distraction. Unfortunately, it never goes beyond that.

The imaginative mix at the first sight but the makers didn't finish their job fully. The game keeps your attention for only a short time, after a while it begins repeat itself.

Deathtrap can consume good amount of time and can be enjoyed.

Crafting is completely unnecessary & useless. At easy difficulty game is too easy and as you spike up difficulty, then the enemies are too resistant to what ever you throw at them. Leveling up is expensive, As there are many skills to choose from and to max them out will require 10 points or more, for a tower defense game traps and towers aren't powerful enough to stop the monsters so you have to run or teleport from one side to the other to shoot or stab monsters.

Deathtrap can easily kill couple of day But it ain't addictive.

Not only are there lots of traps and lots of monsters to funnel through them, you also get combat skills to supplement your traps. You can find or craft gear for your character and you can level up both your character's skills and the traps. The game could do with more maps and more game modes, but I've rated it 10 regardless because it's such a rare beast and I do hope it will set a trend. It seems like it will take you somewhere around 40 hours to complete all 13 maps at the highest difficulty with a three star rating. The game does come with a full map/wave editor however, so there's a chance it will keep you busy longer than that. Full Review »
