VERY well done co-op tower defense with action RPG thrown in. It really has the best of all worlds. I'm amazed why more dev's aren't throwing their hats into these co-op/tower defense games but this one is very fulfilling so far to me.

Deathtrap is a tower defence game, but one where you control a character on screen as well as building towers. In that regard, it is not a pure tower defence game. It plays a bit like a fantasy RPG, with lots of fast mouse movement and button clicking. If you were to play Van Helsing, the game that spawned Deathtrap, you would understand why. If you're looking for a perfect blend of tower defense game and action RPG than this is it! The game could do with more maps and more game modes, but I've rated it 10 regardless because it's such a rare beast and I do hope it will set a trend. It seems like it will take you somewhere around 40 hours to complete all 13 maps at the highest difficulty with a three star rating. The game does come with a full map/wave editor however, so there's a chance it will keep you busy longer than that. Expand

Very solid game overall. It was well worth the purchase. For anyone who loves Diablo style mechanics mixed with tower defense, this is the game for you. Putting a number rating on this game is tough because what do you compare it to? Orcs Must Die 2? Sanctum 2? Those are closest in terms of Tower Defense *plus* active on-map player participation, but they're both TD/FPS while this is TD/Action-RPG, and there's really no other game like it.

So let's break it down into its component parts. The ARPG stuff is a blast (and I'm not a huge fan of 3D-isometric ARPGs like Diablo, Path of Exile or Van Helsing 2). Creative, powerful enemies and very satisfying player-RPG progression make this part very fun.

The traps and towers - what's important here is that you have many, many, MANY ways to customize and tweak your traps and towers to personalize them to match your own style of play.

Want to sit back and let the traps/towers do most of the work? Focus your upgrades on Damage for the traps and Global passives for the player, and you can do that. Want to kill everything yourself? Focus trap upgrades on slowing/weakening the mobs, and stack Damage upgrades on your character.

There's a lot of flexibility *within* the structure of the game, meaning no two players will ever play the same level in exactly the same way.

Bottom line, there's more to this game than meets the eye. It has loads of depth, it encourages and rewards smart, strategic play - but at the same time if you *don't* want to burn too many brain cells and just want to shoot baddies in the face and watch them explode into bloody gibs, that works too.

Graphics are nice, sound is terrific, co-op/versus is slightly buggy at launch but they're working on it. When it works, it's a blast. In the meantime the single-player stuff is totally solid. I'm gonna give it a number rating of 9 because there's no other game quite like it, which makes it the top of the genre (whatever genre that is).

An interesting game in the genre of tower defense. But in this game ktrome setting traps and protective structures is still possible to play for a character. There are several characters to choose from and they have a different set of weapons and abilities.

The 3 heroes have semi unique game play and focus on different tower types. The monsters, especially later, start developing some unique abilities to challenge you. The lack of levels and game modes makes the game rather short. The monsters simply get harder when you replay maps so there is no point in replaying. The levels only allow you to place specific towers at specific points. I can understand making tower positions fixed but I cant even pick what goes there...Using your hero to fight isnt as intense as the previous games mentioned. You hero is more strategic fighting then mass killing. The levels themselves are rather simple and dont toss anything special in. I enjoyed this game for the time it took me to beat it once. After that it got boring quick,. Expand

This game is ridiculously fun, and even better played with someone else. We sunk more time into this game than any other in the past few years.

Way, WAY better than Dungeon Defenders.

A tower defence ARPG with loot, I've spent a few hundred hours on Dungeon Defenders and this is similar to it, looking forward to sinking hours into this

    Cons:
Game often looks choppy and feels really laggy
Only 13 levels, after that you can replay on harder difficulties and tiers

It's a decent Tower Defense game.
But, bounty hunter don't use pistols or rifle like in Van Helsing trilogy franchise.
There a lot of video issues and audio bugs, some traps are stupid as hell.
Neocore games, have no idea how to adjust an game difficulty, the easy is hard and hard it's impossible.

The imaginative mix at the first sight but the makers didn't finish their job fully. The game keeps your attention for only a short time, after a while it begins repeat itself.

A nice variation of the classic tower defense formula, with frenetic and interesting fights and lots of customization and modes on offer.

Deathtrap's unique take on the tower defense genre by expanding player interaction with action and role-playing gameplay elements results in an entertaining and worthwhile experience. Both fans of tower defense and role-playing games are recommended to take a journey into the world of Deathtrap.
