This game has a good idea behind it, but the execution is awful. They've made three mistakes while making this game. First is the time limit, which is stupid. You give us whole place to explore, but not enough time to explore it? How stupid can you be? But yeah it's a game from japan, so what I expect, most games from japan are full of s***. This makes the game so frustrating, because you have to keep in mind, that you'll have to go to the toilet and it's mostly far away from your objectives, so it just becomes a drag and a waste of time. This whole game is a f**** waste of time. Third mistake are the weapons and how fast they'll get destroyed. I pick up something, I slash 3-4 zombies and that's all, it's gone. F*** this game and anyone who likes it. Pickens condemns. Expand

A vile stinker of a game. It's a essentially a beat 'em up focused on NPC escort missions with repetitive endlessly respawning enemies (only one type, zombies for the majority of the game, and there are big crowds everywhere) and a absurdly oversized map that makes everything a slog. Combat is repetitive with only a few items being effective, the NPC AI is god awful, travel takes forever, and every event in the game is subject to strict timers, making this one a boring, irksome slog with almost no redeeming qualities other than the novelty of being able to body slam a zombie and take crotch shots with phone for bonus exp and the goofy psycho bosses. Why doesn't the game have autosave and when mission fail it plays back to previous save point, game updated to 2016 and still doesn't change anything, If it gives a faster attack speed than run button, it is acceptable

This game has a lot of bugs. The gameplay needs different things. You are just running and running and running and running.... First 2-3 hours are very enjoyable but after that you wants to be end and you are stops playing this game.

After all these years Dead Rising’s design is still absolutely unique. There’s no way you’ll finish the game in the first attempt. You’ll have to repeat it over and over again to work out the optimum scenario, but Dead Rising is so good you won’t mind that at all. [12/2016, p.56]

Though it hasn't aged that well, Dead Rising remains a good experience. The game can be tough as nails due to the intentional design choices and flaws that stand out in comparison to modern conventions.

In 2016, Dead Rising is fantastic nostalgic trip that benefits from the higher resolution, frame rate and graphical options greatly, despite the overall textures and models not being as magical as they once were.
