Apr 22, 2016Day of the Tentacle Remastered provides a wonderfully crafted recreation of the original game, and Double Fine's streamlining of some of its rougher edges makes it a more approachable experience for modern audiences. But its revisions only go so deep, and can't quite manage to elevate source material that elicits chuckles rather than the riotous giggle fits it clearly expects.

Mar 21, 2016Day of the Tentacle Remastered is in every way a reminder of where the adventure genre was in the early 90’s. It has a pretty shallow story, badly written dialogue and underdeveloped characters. Surely the remastered will probably make fans of the original happy, but for anyone else this is more a proof of how much story telling and puzzle design has progressed since.

Oct 19, 2016As with all adventure games, solving puzzles in Day of the Tentacle sometimes feels like trying to get inside the designers’ heads and understand exactly what they want you to do. It’s there that the 23-year-old wrinkles sometimes show.

Mar 21, 2016It’s still the smartest, most elegant, most entertaining adventure game ever made. And now, if you want, it looks new and sounds amazing.
