    This game has great graphics, sound, and game play. It is an excellently well thought out game with awesome maps. The only to be desired is a more realistic damage system and better hit registery. I have many problems where I will fire about 13 rounds point blank with someone whilst aimed at there chest, but only 1 round will register for about 30 damage.     Day of Defeat is an awsome game for what you pay it has thrilling graphics, and being able to shoot an enemy through thin cover has never been cooler!

    This game would be a 10 if the player could Lean left and right and scrool the weapons without the need to left click on them. This would make a Huge Difference in the gameplay.

    I play DoD:S all the time. It is a very strategy oriented game while still focusing on the individual skill of the player. There are a few flaws, but I am willing to look past them. To get the full experience from this game you need to search for the right server. Playing with the right people makes all the difference and enhances the gameplay in many ways.

    Brilliant! DoD is superior to other WW2 games in my opinion. Great gameplay and so damn smooth! A must buy.

    This game it good, and for peaople who say this game should be more realiticly paced, it would take 5 to 12 days to take a village like the one in kalt. 12 friggin days of sittin on a crappy chair in yer 2 bot 9" moniter (depending opun how awsome you are) By the way, kalt means "cold" in german.

    This was an awsome game and 20 bucks is a deal. I think by the fun i have with it its worth 50- 60 bucks. Its the best 20.00$ you'll ever spend. This game is so interactive, and you cant find this anywhere else, This game is better than Call of Duty 2's multiplayer simply because of the no stop action. bullets wizzing by your head, rockets and bullets being fired from a This was an awsome game and 20 bucks is a deal.     I recommend this game to WWII game lovers, both newbies and veterans. Pros- 1. It is easy to grasp when you start playing 2. The weapons look and feel good. 3. Playing with friends is great, but using teamwork with complete strangers is just as good. 4. Graphically the game is great, but to play at all high settings you may need a beefy computer. 5. The level design in the default levels I recommend this game to WWII game lovers, both newbies and veterans. Pros- 1. It is easy to grasp when you start playing 2. The weapons look and feel good. 3. Playing with friends is great, but using teamwork with complete strangers is just as good. 4. Graphically the game is great, but to play at all high settings you may need a beefy computer. 5. The level design in the default levels is almost perfect, and some of the player-made levels are great. Cons- 1. Sometimes you're weapons will not fire (mostly only happens with pistols) 2. The weapon balance can seem very bad when you first start playing 3. You may need a powerful computer to run this at all high settings plus HDR at max to not play at 10 FPS 4. Teamwork is a rare sight outside of servers with low amounts of players (around 5 vs 5) 5. No single-player/campaign mode at all.… Expand

    DoD:S is a very interesting game but it's not really good. The normal day of defeat is very good but day of defeat not.

    Ok - so I really think it's unfair the DoD:S's rating has been hammered by poor reviews just after it was released. More maps are being released all the time and yet reviews such as "the limitations of only four maps, on which to play one game type" pull the score down. DoD was, is and always will be excelent.

    Best online game I played so far. I love this game more than Counterstrike : source. For the moment there is only one game that still could beat Day of Defeat source; Red Orchestra. Looking forward to play that game.

    WW2 multiplayer action at its best. Fast paced action, awesome source engine, and realistic weapon behavior make this game a real winner. bullets really hurt in this WW2 game. 2 or 3 shots will kill you. not like other games where you can get hit 20 times, live get health packs, and then keep on fighting as if there is no tomorrow. Kudos do Valve, who have done it once again.

    I expect to be playing DoD a lot more than "Couterstrike: Source"... I recommend DoD:S to the multiplayer action crowd, but don't come crying to me when things start getting stale.

    While the game still needs some patching, and is unfortunately not DoD as we know it, this is still an absolutely fantastic package; those after a new multiplayer shooter can’t really go wrong with this one. Oh, and expect this score to go up over time as Valve patches out various problems.
