LuizM.Feb 5, 2008An underestimated game, far better then what the general reviews say! Amazing game, fun, and much more balanced then Counter-Strike.

SirlollododFeb 2, 2008THE WW2 war game online! It's a real, fantastic simulation of WW2. Graphics is very good, as well the phisyx effect. Need just 10$ to buy it, but it's worth more!!! Buy it if you like war game FPS

MichaelR.Feb 1, 2008One of the best roleplaying games that I have ever played.

AceB.Dec 31, 2007The game is not as you see it in the trailers. When you see the trailers you see a real battle between the Allies and the Axis, but when you play it yourself you will notice people just go for the blood instead of the fun. People are more busy to kill each other like a DeathMatch than having real fun and try to live into the roles as Allied/Axis. However the whole idea is great, Allies vs. Axis.

PierreC.Dec 27, 2007A great game to same the least! Day of Defeat: Source is extremely fast-paced, the gametypes require players to depend on each-other and work as a team, the visuals are gorgeous, and the maps are realistic and well-designed. The only real downside to this game is the number of stock maps available, but for the price the customer pays, it is well worth it!

DerwoodJonesDec 21, 2007Stunning.. simply stunning. But you need a high end graphics card to really enjoy the stunning. So if there was any bad ratings, go get a graphics card! :P

EricV.Nov 28, 2007Never played a online game so long time. The fun is much more worth then i paid for this game. Simple but a lot more fun then any other expensive game.

SimonW.Nov 10, 2007Fluid addictive gameplay, highly recommended stress busting (mostly) game.

A.NonymousNov 6, 2007Despite lacking depth, its probably one of the most atmospheric WWII shooters out. Unlike its slow-paced sister Counter-Strike, DoD offers fast-paced, hardcore combat. Bullets whiz, men fall and grenades explode around you. Truly atmospheric. The guns may be have a high recoil, but this is more of a tactical balance than a problem. You can't just gun 'n' run.

ScottM.Oct 26, 2007I think this is one of the best team based games out there. It forces the group to actually work as a team. And the lone wolf is really only a distraction. I focuses on Flag captures and not kills. So you are really forced to get objectives if you really want to win.

SK.Oct 23, 2007OMG!!!! This game is the bomb... the graphics are way good, the gameplay is good...!! Hectic game!! Could spend 6 hours straight playing this game and u would't get bored.

JacobN.Oct 15, 2007Been playing for years now, although I liked it better before Valve took over, I still play every night, and I always play avalanche. Proof that playing the same map, over and over and over and over again for years is still FUN!

AlfonzzOct 8, 2007As Sean said, the gun recoil is a horrendous thing. Guns just dont fly up in the air like they are portrayed to do. The guns act like the weigh nothing so they fly up in the air when fired, this simply doesnt happen with a real gun. BTW you can shoot an MG42 while standing in real life. Despite this major flaw the game is pretty, and is worth getting if you can get it cheap.

KennethK.Sep 26, 2007Great game, Valve outdid themselves with this remake of the classic game.
-
-
ChrisC.Sep 24, 2007A worthy successor to Day of Defeat, the reduced, simple, fun classes, hectic action, and arguably the best Source engine visuals to date, this game deserves some play time by all first person shooter fans.

SeanS.Sep 16, 2007This game is alright but ...... im troubled by the hit box and the gun recoiling way to much. Not only that, but there are many cheaters/togglers in DOD that deny it. Overall with out hacks and the trouble of the recoil. This game is okay. This graphic is good and the community also.

NovsekN.Sep 15, 2007The best game I ever played!

-
RYUH.Sep 13, 2007DOD:source is very nice game to my certain knowledge. But, decreased class, many bugs are DOD:source's problems.

-
PeterM.Sep 10, 2007A great game set in WW2 setting which has the modern effects and graphics. Very enjoyable and very tactical
-
-
SamJ.Aug 30, 2007Its an ok game but its missing many of the old elements and there are many bugs on the maps i also find the maps to be little under designed. but in total its just a game which gets boring very quick.

I expect to be playing DoD a lot more than "Couterstrike: Source"... I recommend DoD:S to the multiplayer action crowd, but don't come crying to me when things start getting stale.
-
While the game still needs some patching, and is unfortunately not DoD as we know it, this is still an absolutely fantastic package; those after a new multiplayer shooter can’t really go wrong with this one. Oh, and expect this score to go up over time as Valve patches out various problems.
-
While a lack of maps cuts into the game's value somewhat, Day of Defeat: Source still offers a satisfying and exciting experience for those who just can't get enough of World War II.
