    I love this game, most negative feedback comes from players who are not accustomed to the playstyle and because of that get owned by more experienced players. And btw the hitbox issue was fixed in the 2nd or 3rd patch if I remember correctly. New maps have also been added to the game. Some "Camper Strike" players have lots of difficulties adapting to this game because camping and sitting I love this game, most negative feedback comes from players who are not accustomed to the playstyle and because of that get owned by more experienced players.     Extremely Realistic - Sounds are Extremely Real Best WW2 game I've ever played - id say this game is 1 of the best WW2 games out there - Recommended.

    Dat of Defeat Source is an awesome game. With a good balance between the weapons and also a nice variety of weapons. From sniper rifles, to submg, to Machine guns, and rocket launchers. It has a weapon for everyone. It is a team based game where if you don't work as a team you lose. DODS has two different modes of play point capture, and attack and defend objectives.     I play dod since it was a free beta half-life mod and with dod-source it is still, one of the best multiplayer games out there!

    This game has amazing grahpics for the source engine. Its somewhat evened out but not to much but still they did well on this for the year but theres always mods to edit it which is nice cause the encluded the sdk thing, So yeah id rate this very well i hope that u make another day of defeat (dod,dod:s) just make it so those guns have less of a kick back its somewhat a lil to much and theThis game has amazing grahpics for the source engine.     Excellently paced world war 2 shooter, kicks the crap out of CoD2. Minor bugs pop up from time to time more associated with the Source game engine than DoD itself. I just wish there were more maps but theres always a very active community creating more and more everyday! Theres no better place to kill some time than a Day of Defeat Source server, come and play you'll love it!!

    Valve are always raising the bar on how good games should be, and yet again, they have done it. Superb graphical detail and the oh so beautiful source engine. Full marks here.

    THE WW2 war game online! It's a real, fantastic simulation of WW2. Graphics is very good, as well the phisyx effect. Need just 10$ to buy it, but it's worth more!!! Buy it if you like war game FPS

    This is one of the best FPSs i have ever played i love the hearing the sound of bullets wizz past you while your sprinting to try and take a flag and not die.

    Good graphics, and amazing fun. Find the right server, and you can have loads of fun on user created content. Balanced classes and limitations keep the game fun and flowing. Does suffer a bit from repetitiveness and overpowered weapons. Could definitely use some updates to balance those, but still great fun.

    It actually feels like they took a step back from the original DoD with this one. Apart from the updated graphics and physics engine, there really isn't anything that is done better than the original which is kind of disappointing. Unlike CS:S where the graphics and gameplay was made better, DoD:S doesn't feel all that great.     Atmospheric for a multiplayerwith great background noise, you dont have to be a geek on this 24/7 to stand a chance like counter strike, as it seems to reward you for cunning. Within seconds ur in ww2 and having fun, which is what it's all about. Graohics are good and it will be added to in time, so things too look forward too. GREAT!

    It's an awesome game if you're into realism and teamwork. The 4 included maps are amazing, and don't lose their value. Some have complained about too much recoil, and don't realize that it's not very realistic to spray on full auto and hope to hit people. The classes and weapons have been tweaked for just the right settings. The only thing that makes it lose a point is the hud, which is way too big and bulky. Picking off people in the street with your rifle before a rifle grenade lands at your feet and blows you to high heaven. Cooking off a grenade so it explodes a split second before landing in a crowd of enemies. the courage, the heroism, the carnage and the intensity of small unit action has never been as good as day of defeat source. no game since the first dod compares to it. hope i see yall on the field.… Expand

    This is my Favorite game. I don't know why but I lose hours and hours playing this gem! The graphic improvement from the prior version is awesome. All in all Its pace and gameplay are better than any other shooter I have played.

    I'll never go playing a other game. Not expensive and you can go online 24/7 and play and play. If you are tired of playing the in same towns just look for custom maps.

    Fast and fun. Voice chat not just a plus, but necessary. Great communities if you can find them. Small balancing issues on maps, needs a full server for best results. I suggest looking for 30+ slot servers only.

I'm 36 years old and in the beginning these young "punks" annoyed the heck out of me, but now I completely pawn them - well.. sometimes, hehe.     For some reason this game never gets boring. I think the player community (not much hacking at all) keeps this game as fun as it is. I own many FPS's, but this is my favorite.

    How does this get a worse rating than Red Orchestra? This game is by far the best WWII game on the market! I will never play any other WWII game, multiplayer or singleplayer! Nothing can compare to the excellent graphics, sounds, weapons, and realism in general.

    Great game, though I'm laming FPS The only negative point is that you really need to play on a server with the MG's & snipers limited, because when team is losing they all go start laming with snipers or mg's

    Great game. Just barely lives up to the original, but still a great play. Nice to see them release regular updates for the game, adding new maps and game content for free unlike some other games. Great team based play, a good team strategy greatly helps, and the game is usually most fun to play with groups like clans or guilds.

    One of the more underrated FPS's in my opinion, it has good balance with the player classes. It doesn't really favor being a sniper or a machine gunner, or assault classes by giving them more special abilities. I also like the fact that you respawn pretty quickly too.

BUT! this game has lots of other elements that make of for the lack of user made crap. for one the graphics are the source engine and well i love the source engine. the ragdolls are nice. being able to this game would have gotten a perfect 10 out of 10 if it had ANY, any at all, user created maps. BUT! this game has lots of other elements that make of for the lack of user made crap. for one the graphics are the source engine and well i love the source engine. the ragdolls are nice. being able to see the little yellow lines that are bullets wizz past me. watching someone go around a corner and get mowed down and seeing the spray of blood, all and all this game is bratally amazing. and its totally team based. unlike counter-strike this game takes HUGE advantage of team. In CS you can go out by yourself and survive for 4-5 rounds alone. In dod source if you go off by yourself you will die and not get anything acomplished but a high death and low kill score.… Expand

    DoD was the best WWII game I have ever played, and when DoD:S was released using the new source engine, wow it blew me away, it's much better then any of the WWII games on the market right, I even just tried Red Orchestra, and wow that game sucks so much compared to this, graphics, gameplay, sound and all.

Playing with friends is great, but using teamwork with complete strangers is just as good. 4. Graphically the game is great, but to play at all high settings you may need a beefy computer. 5. The level design in the default levels I recommend this game to WWII game lovers, both newbies and veterans. Pros- 1. It is easy to grasp when you start playing 2. The weapons look and feel good. 3. Playing with friends is great, but using teamwork with complete strangers is just as good. 4. Graphically the game is great, but to play at all high settings you may need a beefy computer. 5. The level design in the default levels is almost perfect, and some of the player-made levels are great. Cons- 1. Sometimes you're weapons will not fire (mostly only happens with pistols) 2. The weapon balance can seem very bad when you first start playing 3. You may need a powerful computer to run this at all high settings plus HDR at max to not play at 10 FPS 4.     This game it good, and for peaople who say this game should be more realiticly paced, it would take 5 to 12 days to take a village like the one in kalt. 12 friggin days of sittin on a crappy chair in yer 2 bot 9" moniter (depending opun how awsome you are) By the way, kalt means "cold" in german.

    'The Thinking Man's CSS' is what I think best sums up this game, however as with all mods-turned-professional it's not without it's problems, related almost entirely to content. It is also not particularly newbie friendly, being unforgiving when you face up to more professional players.     This game has been one of the best online World War II games around since its inception back in the late 90's. After so many years and some MAJOR game updates and changes to play style it still provides many hours of enjoyment.

    Despite lacking depth, its probably one of the most atmospheric WWII shooters out. Unlike its slow-paced sister Counter-Strike, DoD offers fast-paced, hardcore combat. Bullets whiz, men fall and grenades explode around you. Truly atmospheric. The guns may be have a high recoil, but this is more of a tactical balance than a problem. You can't just gun 'n' run.

    OMG!!!! This game is the bomb... the graphics are way good, the gameplay is good...!! Hectic game!! Could spend 6 hours straight playing this game and u would't get bored.

    I expect to be playing DoD a lot more than "Couterstrike: Source"... I recommend DoD:S to the multiplayer action crowd, but don't come crying to me when things start getting stale.

    While the game still needs some patching, and is unfortunately not DoD as we know it, this is still an absolutely fantastic package; those after a new multiplayer shooter can’t really go wrong with this one. Oh, and expect this score to go up over time as Valve patches out various problems.

    While a lack of maps cuts into the game's value somewhat, Day of Defeat: Source still offers a satisfying and exciting experience for those who just can't get enough of World War II.
