Xenotheria fuses elements of role-playing and card games, offering a new experience through isometric overworld exploration, a story-rich single-player campaign, party-based positional combat, and deck-construction through a highly customizable card upgrade system.

Xenotheria takes place on a frontier mining planet called Wolf Prime. After a mysterious force starts pulling spaceships out of the sky, death and destruction rain down and litter the landscape of Wolf Prime with wreckage, debris, and danger.

Take on the role of Squig, a Wolf Prime denizen and shipyard worker who, with the help of his friend Norton, gathers a team of survivors to embark on a journey that will uncover the mystery behind the sudden cataclysm. Do you have what it takes to save the planet from destruction?

Dark Sky is a focused mix of card combat and more classic role-playing. The science-fiction universe is varied and interesting, although it’s sometimes hard to connect with the characters. All combat is tense, and players have to pay attention to enemy force composition and develop strong strategies around card synergies. It’s possible to breeze through normal encounters, perhaps with a revive or two, and then get stuck on a boss for an hour, which in turn can generate frustration. But for fans of card-focused combat with a strong deck-building focus, Dark Sky is a great experience that will test their skills and reward them with plenty of complex engagements.

Dark Sky is a very solid deckbuilder that makes every encounter and choice matter. You’ll need a good strategic mind to beat the game, but those who can understand and exploit the game’s mechanics will very much enjoy their time.
