Before I review the game I want to state that I meet/surpass all the minimum system requirements provided by CD Projekt Red's support page. My OS: 64-bit Windows 7, CPU: Intel i7-4790, RAM: 16GB, GPU: Rtx 2060 super (8GB Vram) and lastly a SSD with plenty of left over space (200GB).

The substance, (the story, the characters, the animations, the music, the combat etc) is amazing. CD Projekt Red put a lot of time and work on this game and delayed it multiple times over to make sure it's, "coming out when it's ready". However, in it's current state the game lacks a lot of fine tunning and technical stability. The game will crash randomly even at the lowest settings and with constant fps drops in cpu and gpu heavy areas such as when you're driving around in night city. Honestly, it's unplayable right now because you can't really play a game where you lose progress all the time at random.

I uninstalled the graphic drivers about four times with DDU in safe mode and installed the up to date nvidia drivers provided by their website. My graphics card is brand new. I'm not the only one with technical problems either.

I don't recommend this game right now. It's not a complete game from a renowned company such as CD Projekt Red who knew that the game was going to sell well and still decided to release it unfinished when it clearly needed 4-6 more months of stability optimization and fine tunning the systems to make this game a masterpiece.

What I don't like especially is seeing this kind of business practice from CDPR. I don't want games unfinished today and I have to wait weeks and months to be able to play the game I paid full price for. The game should have been released in 2021 around March and May to adhere to the statement, "coming when it's ready". They already made back their development costs from pre orders alone so I don't believe for a second that they couldn't wait 4-6 more months and release a proper experience for players of all platforms to enjoy.

It came with a very high HYPE and clearly I am very disappointed, this game has another 7 years of development to go. In the last scene, at the end I have seen the credits and I am speechless, but not for something positive if not because I could not believe that it lasted so little. Ultimately disappointing, CDPR should rethink redoing the game.

The game story is actually pretty awesome, I didn't finish yet, but so far I liked very much, but the gameplay experience with this tons of bugs and technique problems is just unplayble, even with high end pc's it's really hard to get a good experience, in my opinion CD should had to get more time to develope the game.

Push F to get reward; 3) a lot of time is wasted in passenger seats, listening for the meaningful dialogs (sarcasm intended); 4) the city looks dead, every NPC (aside from the quest ones) is hollow, badly scripted and looks more like walking texture. I think these are tired souls of the overcrunched developers; 5) Bugs. I think this game is so badly saturated with small, not so small, hilarious, dissapointing bugs, that it constantly breaks my attempts to dive into the game flow. Just google Cyberpunk police AI - the dumbest thing I’ve met in a lot of time!; 6) Hotfix 1.04 is ~700 megs, but demands 50 gigs to install. This is technical fiasko! 7) The game was so agressively advertised, but given it’s state - raw, buggy, hollow, barely interesting - I think that downplayed a lot of CD Project Red reputation. Honestly Cyberpunk reminded me of Stalker. The same staright progression, no matter what you do. The same dumb NPCs. Critical and non-critical bugs everywhere...
I put 5/10 for the graphics and sounds.

Enemies spawning inside walls, unable to pick up items despite looking right at them, getting stuck inside walls, jumping on top of a character and taking massive damage, getting killed because my allies run right through me and in front of my grenade. Skyrim was buggy at launch too but nothing like this. And CDPR stifling review footage pre-release is straight up wrong. This is a game only 90% done and $60 is a big ask for that. Some texture pop-in and draw distance issues here and there, but nothing remotely like a deal-breaker.
The game itself? Well, it's the most aggressively mediocre, massively overhyped major release in gaming history, IMO. There's nothing new here. It's just GTA V meets Far Cry 3, with none of the former's many charms and none of the latter's functionality. The character and inventory systems leave much to be desired, no time seems to have been spent on world-building, and the quests feel perfunctory and slapdash right from the jump.
Even once its many technical issues are patched up, history will not be kind to this release. It's simply not a great game. If you'd surprised me with this five years ago and told me after I'd sunk a few hours into it that CDPR was responsible for it, I literally would never - ever - have believed you. They should be embarrassed.

Don't buy yet, wait for patches and fixes plus price drop.
Another thing are trailers from 2018, showing city full of life, move, nice graphics. It's like No mans sky. Full of promises and at the end just disappointment.
Story ? well it's kinda ok, nothing Witcher 3 like. Feels kinda generic, and we don't have much impact on anything, so you basically just pay no attention to dialogues.
Also this game IS FULL OF CUTSCENES, most of the time I'm just sitting and watching instead of playing.
Graphics, difference is only between Normal and Ultra settings. Other than that, not much.
RTX you won't notice a lot unless it's on ultra, then you might see reflections and such, but when you're focused on combat or driving you pay no attention to this.
RPG part is broken. You basically take revolvers and with few levels you one shoot everyone.

In summary ? wait till it's fixed like it should, price drops. Then buy, without getting frustrated at yourself for losing money.

I originally wrote a review of this game when I had somewhere around 20ish hours in the game. And at the time I gave it an 8/10.

To try and keep things succinct. I essentially said that the game was still fun and engaging despite its flaws on launch. And that its positives outweigh its negatives. I still stand by that, but the score needs to be amended. After putting an absurd amount

To try and keep things succinct. I essentially said that the game was still fun and engaging despite its flaws on launch. And that its positives outweigh its negatives. I still stand by that, but the score needs to be amended.

After putting an absurd amount of time in this game. A game that I clearly enjoy. Considering I've now played through every side quest and have tried to squeeze every bit of lore, story, and gameplay that this game has to offer. I gotta update my score from an 8 to a 5.

The amount of bugs I experienced that would prevent me from progessing on any particular mission went from being a *quirky feature* to a maddening and dissapointing expectation.

Ui bugs, progression bugs, not-playing-the-game-the-way-the-developers-wanted-me-to bugs in a game thats supposed to be all about choices and giving the player as much agency as possible, audio bugs, physics bugs, AI bugs, rendering bugs, lighting bugs, etc.

    it's just dissapointing.

It's clear that a lot of work went into this game.
    It shows.
there's detail everywhere throughout the world.
it's obvious that a lot of love went into making the game and the world, characters, etc.

Which just makes everything else so goddamn frustrating.
The dissapearing cars on the road.
The dissapearing pedestrians on the sidewalks.
The damn cops spawing right behind you or right in front of you.
AI that runs into walls and stands still while you lob bullets into their faces also have laser hawk vision and can spot you or a downed body from across the map. Or when they somehow detect a body that you've hidden when; 1.- they haven't found a goddamn thing and 2- what's the point of throwing in a bunch of dumpsters to hide bodies in if the AI is just going to magically find them anyway?

The stealth can be fun. But it's rules are among the worst for a stealth game. It's not anywhere near as fleshed out as MGS, the Arkham games, PS2 Splinter cell games, dishonored, etc. It tries, but boy does it come short every single damn time.

There's an incredible game hidden under the mess.

I don't expect it to take all the ideas from the best RPGs of the last decade.
But it certaintly borrows a whole lot of ideas.
And the ones it lacks are the ones I had expected prior to launch.
I'm talking stuff like a faction system. A reputation system.
I mean- there is a rep system in the game.
But it ain't exactly fallout new vegas tier.

    idk.
    I'm just rambling here.
there's a lot I want to say about this game but 5k characters isn't enough
and trying to explain one point only leads me to a million other tangents related to how this game is simultaneously flaming-hot-garbage while also still being one of the best games I've played in recent memory.

The game it could be is AT LEAST an 8
but the game that it is currently is a 5, at best.

My opinion on this game is more nuanced than the idiots that are review bombing this because the game can't run on their obsolete-before-it-was-even-on-the-market-7-year-old-space-heater-cockroach-motel-console.

Again, this is a good game.
But it's also flaming hot garbage.

Of those 50hours, I probably averaged 1bug ever minute, had several game breaking bugs, and had to reload my game almost every single mission, sometimes multiple time, but this review and rating will be excluding every bug and performance problems that I had an focus on the gameplay itself. So lets begin and start with the Pros: first off I want to say many of the characters had the best voice acting I have ever heard and just make me fall in love with their story arch wishing I could do more mission with them. Next up has got to be the game beauty, even with ray tracing off and medium setting the game was quite beautiful. The last good thing has got to be the certain side missions and the first few main mission you will do, They are laid out beautifully and absolutely amazing. The story with judy and panam/aldocados has some of the best writing and voice acting and left me wanting more from their story. I was extremely disappointed that they were so short for such important game characters. This is about it for the Pros so next here comes the Cons. First up we got the mediocre driving and melee combat, while gunplay wasn't good I certainly wasn't terrible either. Next we have the AI, which is sadly some of the worst AI I have ever seen. Turn away for 2sec, and you've got a whole new npc and car on the street. Anytime you look away it completely reloads the npcs/object. Often they will even just appear or disappear in front of you. And the police AI is terrible, kill someone accidentally they spawn behind you, no time to react or hide, they just keep spawning behind you the minute you do something. The AI cars are also terribly designed andif you block a road they'll just stop never going around you, and sometimes they'll even stop in the middle of an intersection because the light turned red. This is just the beginning if the issues of the AI but it really ruins the experience, and you could talk about it for hours so ill move on the the story. The storyline is bad atthe beginning, in fact it's good, but after first major part end and the second begins it just gets mediocre, then at the end, after everything the story just feels forced and no matter what you choose you'll die eventually because they decide to just say "you took to many meds" it just seems forced like they did that just to make it more emotional. The ending are terrible snd there no way to really choose a different ending cause they all end just the same way on a basic level. The ending is joy affected by the choices you make either, which is really disappointing considering CDPR advertised it that the choices you made would impact the story and ending. Same goes for the rest of the story it's basically yes, Ahole yes, or [lifepath] yes theres no real consequences or different choices. It's very disappointing. The fact that CDPR advertised this an rpg and then changed it at the last sec to a action fps is very troubling and deserving of a law suit in my opinion. The gameplay itself is rather boring and unless your doing a main side mission or the main story line it's stupidly boring. The other thing that really pissed me off is that if you decide to finish the main story, you're done, that's it, The only way to continue playing is the go back to the last save and never finish the last mission. This is beyond idiotic and really ruins the want to continue playing. RDR2 has a great way of doing their ending where you become a new character and it would allow you to continue playing. I also set them up for possible dlc in-the future. The way cyberpunk is, it makes it nearly impossible for future dlc and if there ever way it would be so short because there are so many options and it would be so expensive. Last few things ill mention is that there is that the romance and relations are so damn short for something they pushed so damn hard. The Lifepaths make no difference except for the first 20min. The city is feels lifeless with the AI issues and there no way to changes you appearance. For a game so far in the future with so much cybernetics, technology, and plastic surgery, you can even change you're damn hair style. Adding on to this the customization of you characters is pitiful and is one of the worst I have ever played. Last I just say that for a game that was and is supposed to be filled with sex and drugs, It feels like your in a strict religious family. The cities full of adverts about BD sex, prostitution, drugs, ect but at the same time you only get 2 npc prostitutes?? On top of this they pushed this game like the romance and relationships would be crazy, when im reality you get 3options and the actual relationship is only for like 1 or two missions. I could go on and on but it seems ive run out of characters to use, so ill leave it at this. Don't buy it mot worth $60 Expand

The AI is lifeless and dead. Everything they promised regarding NPC's was a lie, look at youtube videos yourself. The world is dead and lifeless. No dynamicness like in RDR2, its not even close. Performance is crappy and extremely blurry even on PC's Reviews

Reviews copy's for console's were not allowed and revealed only after launch - why do you think that is?

CP2077 is not ready. Don't buy into the hype, save your money and buy it in a year's time.

Average plot without truly memorable twists/characters and all the rest (especially game play mechanics) below modern standards.
It would be a good remaster but instead it is a modern game that looks like games created when studio launched this project.
Bugs are everywhere and no matter if they fix that it doesn't change the overall perception and frankly I will not be there to re-check.

I wasn't hyped, didn't track the production process, expected another AAA game (basing on production time and size of the studio) but received a product that simply doesn't meet market standard.

To be fair, because of good story its 5. But this is not a book, it should be a whole experience. So -5 for “dead” open world with ai-less animatronic citizens.

Btw, CDPR lied us. I can’t trust anyone now..

Where do i start, game has so much potential that was totally missed.

Pros - Game looks amazing - Story is engaging Cons - World feels dead, nothing to do - Horrible AI - Aweful RPG elements - Crafting is meh - Super linear story - Choices mean nothing Honestly this game has the impossible task of living up to the hype and it failed, while ive had fun playing it and will

Most immersive gameplay I’ve had in years. Not without bugs but with reputable confidence that they’ll be fixed.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
