4 out 10. I feel cheated, scammed. I don't understand how people think this OK to release a game this broken and be happy to wait years for it to be fixed. Pure fraud!! Paying $60 for a game that won't run is unacceptable. CDPR has sold a Beta version at best. And I'm using it on a high end PC. I really feel for those with consoles.

Personally, I play on a high-end pc and my experience has been amazing. There have been barely any bugs and the few I've seen were visual. I understand the concerns of console players, but from my perspective, the game has been great. I love the open world, characters, story, and gameplay.

Great Game. in 3 days playing I had only small issues with bugs (eg. could not pick up an item). graphics run amazingly great on PC. You get to experience every emotion. Story is great. I absolutely love everything about it.

The game is neat. It's an okay game and very similar to most "AAA" games these days (decide for yourself if that means something good or bad). So why only a 1? Because the game is unfinished.

No, it's not just unpolished, it's unfinished. Game breaking bugs and glitches, almost unplayable on some last gen consoles, overall a technical mess. It adds insult to injury by not delivering on many things they promoted over months, even years. Extremely limited options for character creation, extremely limited romance options (you have the option between having a romance and not having one since there is only one romance for each gender/sexuality combo) etc etc. My main point is: it doesn't matter if people are still having fun with it personally, it doesn't matter that I still kinda like the game. What matters is, that it is an unfinished product, sold at full price. An early access advertised as a full experience. A product that doesn't deliver on what it advertised. A product that was rushed to get it out before Christmas . A product that was produced with crunch and putting extreme pressure on its devs. A product that is just like all AAA titles a cash grabbing, unfinished mess. And we gobble that stuff up. We buy it, we praise it, we defend it. CDPR is praised for being a game company "that listens". But even if they listen now, they will only patch up the game a few months down the road. This is an early access title with major issues, advertised as a full and finished game. And I'm sick of "AAA" companies getting away with this. They wanted to push this game out into sale before Christmas and to profit off of the quarantine boredom of the pandemic. This game would have needed months if not one or two years more to actually be what it was hyped up to be. But I don't even need a "hype" version of the game, just a finished and actually working version of the game would be nice enough.

One of the worst games I have ever played on PS4!
I keep hearing that game supposed to be better on next generation consoles and high end PC's. But PS4 base has games, that run and look a whole lot better.

BUT after the first patch came out it improved significantly after a few more patches maybe even one more it will be where we want it. I recommend this game highly because it still is a good experience with good characters and a good story

Any game that has this many crash-inducing bugs cannot be rated higher than a 5. It's just that simple. I've crashed no less that once every 30 minutes playing this. This game is wonderful. gameplay is fun, characters are interesting, plot is interesting (for what i've seen so far), and world is nice and open. Those alone should be enough to make a game worth it, right? Normally, yes, but in this game's case, not quite. There is quite a bit weighing it down at launch.

There are countless bugs in this game. The majority of which being either graphical or auditory. There are a couple that i've heard of that are quest/dialogue base that can be game breaking. This was an issue with The withcher 3 also (CD Project Red's last game), and most of, if not all of, the bugs were eventually patched out. I assume the same will happen with this game.

Bugs aren't my only issue with this game, though. I am also having a little bit of trouble justifying the seeming lack of side content in this game. From what i've experienced in my (so far only) 16 hours of gameplay, there are very little side quests, and an even smaller amount of character interactions. For side quests, or "gigs" as the game calls them, most of the time you just wait until a quest giver, or "fixer", calls you and gives you one. These are usually rescue missions, or "go kill x" missions, which is fine. The other type of side quest (which name is escaping me) are a little longer but still not super content filled. I have one that is to go fight in some fist fights around night city, and another which is to go find some cars that were blacked out of their grid with their company, and are lost. That's about the extent of side quests I've experienced so far.

Character interactions are even worse. There is VERY little talking outside of quests. You can "talk" to pedestrians, but this is just them saying one line as they continue walking. You don't get dialogue options with them. I was hoping for something a little more RDR2 like, but whatever. Apart from that, you can also talk minimally to shopkeeps. You can't really even talk to your friends outside of quests.

Night city, while huge, has a surprisingly low amount of interesting places or objects. To paraphrase a review I read about the world, "You will see the same line of books, or the same whiteboard with the same notes on it in many buildings across the city." This breaks the immersion, which is a big no no in gaming. Sure, reusing assets is fine, but not to this extent.

While I haven't done too much exploring myself, one of my friends who spent hours exploring has found just about nothing interesting to see. No secret places or items. No "secret" interesting characters or anything. Nothing, leaving one with no reason to explore, other than hopefully getting a gig to do.

There is also a whole mechanic I haven't touched at all, because I don't see the need to. Crafting seems practically useless in this game, and the closest I get to doing that is dismantling stuff when I become over encumbered. This gives you materials to craft with, which I just haven't done.

I can't quite pin down why, but I just can't get SUPER invested into this game like I expected I would. I play for a few hours, and then get bored of the samey gameplay. The fact that the gameplay is fun doesn't stop it from feeling samey after a while. And with a lack of character interaction and meaningful sidequests, this is hard to keep me interested in playing the game for long streaks of time.

This has been a fairly negative review so far, so let me highlight some of the things I do really like about this game. First off, I'm a huge sucker for western RPGs. Bethesda games, CD Project games, etc all scratch an itch I get for gaming. I nearly hate level based games anymore. While I railed on Night city in the last paragraph, I do still love it. It's beautiful. I am also a sucker for cyberpunk worldbuilding though, so I may be a little biased. Another bias I have is the tech aspect you get within a cyberpunk world. V (the player character) is equipped with an ocular scanner which can also hack into people and objects to do different things.

When You do talk to characters, They are all interesting and individuals (other than the pedestrians). You get the sense that they all have their own desires and goals. They feel like people! The main characters of V and are very interesting and cool.

The story, for what I've gotten to so far, is very interesting and engaging. I am not going to go too much more into it, though.

Those are all the thoughts I can come up with for cyberpunk 2077 so far. The game is fun, interesting, beautiful, but ridden with problems. Will some, if not all, of the problems be fixed with patches and possible DLC? yes. Does that make the game feel worth full price right now? Not quite.

Weapons feel futuristic, but still feel punchy. Gunplay feels really solid, and generally just better than a lot of other popular open world games I've played. The Cyberpunk atmosphere is beautiful, feels gritty and interesting, but could feel a bit more alive. Not that there aren't a lot of npcs running around some places, but something about them makes them seem a bit "robotic and lifeless". The open world feels huge, I haven't seen half of it yet. Performance is good enough that I can play with a m&kb(if barely) on my Ryzen 2700x and a Gtx 1070 after turning a few options down from "high" settings and increasing the fov slightly @1080p. I honestly couldn't be happier with this game but I won't be a fanboy and I'll give it a 9. Looking forward to lots and lots of hours in Night City, and all the dlcs to come! Expand

Amidst all the chaos, I will submit an honest review. Cyberpunk 2077 is honestly brilliant. The story so far, the sidequests, dialogue, combat (except melee) & Night City itself are all great and well worth your time....in a few months. If you're willing to wait, wait till all the bugs get ironed out, cause there are a **** ton.

With 45h in i gotta admit the game has insignificant issues, story is 10/10 characters seem to be actually humane in their behavior the only letdown is the amount of bugs, cigarettes left mid air are probably the most common occurrence. Thankfully it gets better from patch to patch and we are only 3 days in so... If cdpr keeps it up game will be 10! 10en it's only 9 due to bugginess

Not a great game. Not a terrible one either, but measured against the expectations CDPR told us to have, it's a failure.

The main story is good. For that, it gets 4 points. The rest of the game ranges from forgettable to truly terrible.

In particular, CDPR should be ashamed of themselves for releasing a game in 2020 with such poor AI, across the board. It's a genuine embarrassment. Should have taken some of those trucks of money they earned from The Witcher and bought some talent from R*.

So few weapons and generally ways to approach combat, pacifist playstyle is just shoe-horned in via mods that magically turns your weapons non-lethal and very few react to you playing pacifist (unlike even the oldest of Deus Ex games).

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
