Almost 30 hours in, this feels like the best game I've played in years. Certainly, some of my expectations did not meet reality, but they do not diminish the accomplishments of CDPR and its dev team on this game.

Almost 30 hours in, this feels like the best game I've played in years. Certainly, some of my expectations did not meet reality, but they do not diminish the accomplishments of CDPR and its dev team on this game.
Bugs are present, and perhaps a new release, focused on an early 2021 launch, would do the game much better and present it to the world as it should have been: the most ambitious game of this generation, a deservingly ending for it. However, they do not interfere with gameplay, and as they give the game a feeling of "unfinishedness", it still manages to achieve what it has set to do. Note, however, what it has set to do is not necessarily what some people would have expected from it.
Marketing was misleading, indeed, and yet, the more serious and rational conversations surrounding the game were realistic. That came from the community, not from CDPR. Those folks in the community, I expect, were not disappointed in the slightest, perhaps if so, only by the bugginess still present even with the 1.04 patch. Once the game is finished, however, it will feel 100% as it's supposed to, not just 90%.
Still, I shall not engage with the negative reviews here seen. Believe me when I say it: There is absolutely no way you can evaluate this game that's not above a 6,5/10 score and still make yourself out to be honest. And trust me, you'll only get that score if you overinflate the issues, and diminish the achievements, which might as well be personal taste, but can too, be dishonesty and perhaps a tad of personal bitterness. Take note, the achievements heavily outweigh the issues.
As CDPR continues working on Cyberpunk 2077, I expect it to become the most highly-achieving product of the later 2010s. Expect DLCs to be amazing, and patches to be incredible. However, CDPR needs to seriously rethink its strategy, how they deal with the public, how they manage hype, and how they manage their own projects and employees. Certainly, this game is not deserving of a Best Director award. Nonetheless, the dev team has made it a gem of the most precious kind, even if unpolished for now.
Still, a couple of features are missing, but not those that people usually complained about. The game does not need car customization, it does not need more apartments, but it does need in-game character customization. Which is odd to lack for such a game.
Now for the positive: everything else.
CDPR has gilded the genre of RPG with Cyberpunk 2077. The dialogues are extremely good, and the quests and story surpass even the highest possible expectation. Characters are deep, complex, and feel real. Night City feels real, a living, breathing gigantic organism that is indeed a character in the game. The game is rich, feels alive, and feels like what the next generation should be about. Other companies making RPGs are seriously in trouble now if it's expected of them to achieve the standard CDPR has set with Cyberpunk for this new generation.
Without spoiling, this game will take you to places you never imagines possible from the beginning, and you'll be at the edge of your city. As always, hang in there for the prologue to finish, once it does, you're in for the most delightful treat gaming could ever offer.
The sometimes overwhelming options and possibilities are easy to get used to, and once you set a path for yourself and your character, the city becomes the scenario of your most ambitious project for fun. Filled with surprises, details that cater to everyone, Night City is for you, but also not. It's for everyone in its own way. Cyberpunk is the next step towards RPG, and it dared not taking a step only, but a leap. A leap that fell short on landing, but is still the world record so far.
Go on, take part on that leap yourself. Feel the wind against your face, and the adrenaline rush you're definitely going to have. Beware of the landing and the initial bugs and glitches, but do note, however, that they do not make it any less amazing than what it's set to be. Be prepared, have a decent rig, and dive into this amazing achievement by the team behind its making. Don't worry, you'll love it.

The environments, characters, NPCs and vehicles are amazing and you can see the amount of work that's gone into them. BUT, there are plenty of bugs I started running into about 10 hours in - characters glitching out - NPCs and cars stuck IN the ground, T poses, Jackie being stuck in a doorway (post a mission) and being out of reach for interaction, being unable to interact with weapons or objects simply because the option doesn't show up despite trying at multiple angles.

The character customization, though fun, is very limited and has me slightly disappointed.

The story is intriguing enough to keep me hooked, and so are the side missions. That being said, this isn't close to the excellence of Witcher 3, still far better than any other game i've played this year.

Of course, it's going to be hard, maybe even impossible to live up to the hype, but I suppose the devs should be able to redeem themselves if they work on fixing the bugs and perhaps adding more interesting side missions.

I give it an 8 for now on a scale of 1-to-Witcher 3

I understand the frustrations some people can have with the game on console and with bugs. The big thing to understand there though is the devs told everyone there were a lot of bugs before release and it's highly unrealistic to expect a game that's 60gb to have a patch to fix them all and optimize the game in 3 short weeks. Those are simple issues that'll be fixed over time whereas the game itself if it was bad wouldn't be fixable. Fortunately however the game is amazing. The story writing is truly on another level and the graphics look great even on lower settings, CD projekt red is actively working on the game and the level of detail and care that went into the game show it as something that's definitely quite unique. This is one of those games that will pave the way for future games and while some people may genuinely dislike the game or review bomb it for performance issues you have to realize something on this big a scale will have kinks that need fixed and they will be. The game has amazing side missions and everything is immersive and interactive, the story really pulls me in and the progression not only feels right but the combat itself is absolutely beautiful. There's so much to do and I can play for hours on end without realizing it. I'd say my biggest peeve with the game is its vehicles. Driving any type of motorcycle isn't as bad but cars are just horrendously sensitive when driving. In some cases it feels more realistic but I do not like tapping a or d and almost doing a full 180. Other than that I really have no mentionable quarrels and I can't wait to see where it is in 6 months. Expand

The 4 hours i did play was so buggy that it really made it hard to enjoy the game. But then the game made the decision for me to stop playing altogether when it stopped working due to a stoppage in game progression bug. So now i cant interact with anyone. Including the main story.

The only AAA+ thing about them is, indeed, the trailers. The latter overhyped millions of gamers, and upon release the hard truth came out. Cyberpunk features laughable NPCs, thousands of game breaking bugs, mediocre story, forgettable characters, and half baked system mechanics. I wonder why none of those aforementioned trailers mention any of that? The only thing that properly worked was marketing and advanced credit card payment systems, but those two elements are not related to playing the game.

Furthermore, I think that ultimately most of the bugs will be fixed, but the core of the issue here, that is the game's inefficiency at providing a truly immersive experience in the vein of the last two gta games, will never be achieved because... Well... If you create a trycicle you cannot improve it to the point it becomes a Ferrari. So we are left with a trycicle which, according to gaming journalists, runs and performs like a supercar.

Honestly if it wasnt for the ridiculous review bombing and 0 score, this game in its current state is probably a 9 but could easily be a 10. If you enjoyed the Witcher 3 then you are most likely going to enjoy this game, as it needs time to invest in playing the game to really enjoy.

The amount of reviews that gave this 10/10 with the review being "BEST GAME EVAAAH" and no real explanation is too high for this dumpster fire, which makes me think CDPR is just getting phantom accounts to boost their score.

The amount of reviews that gave this 10/10 with the review being "BEST GAME EVAAAH" and no real explanation is too high for this dumpster fire, which makes me think CDPR is just getting phantom accounts to boost their score.

    Pros:
    - Huge, beautiful city with a lot of detail
    - Cool story (please be aware creator made this in the 80s so might be a little too 80s for some people)

    Cons:

    - No AI: most NPCs are scripted and repeat the same damn thing over and over without reacting to anything, they have one or two lines if prompted to talk and if you punch anyone on the street the entire street will start running and huddling in fear even though this is some worst city to live in the dystopian future.
    - No driving AI: NPCs are scripted to go from A to B, if you set an obstacle in front of them they wait forever, they won't try to go around you, and if you point a gun at them they don't react at all, this is why there are no car chases except the main story scripted ones.
    - No police AI: As soon as you commit a crime, cops spawn behind you even if you're in a closed room and just kill you, if you lose line of sight they despawn just like that, if you get in a car they can't drive since no driving AI so they just despawn.
    - Non interactable world: You enter a room, there's an arcade, a place to sit, drinks, etc. but you can only interact with the door - you can't eat, drink, sit down, play minigames, pick up objects - it's all dead weight and shallow detail
    - Physics: While a shotgun can knockback NPC's and they flinch when shot, enemies are bullet sponges and there is 0 detail on them when they get shot, they all look brand new even if you empty 2 mags in them. After they die, they fall down in weird stiff positions, usually with their legs up in the air.
    - Driving: cars feel like they weigh as your average shopping cart, swerving as if they're made of plastic and steering and handling is horrible.
    - Gunplay: decent for an RPG, nothing innovative and sometimes clunky. Melee is horrible, with a few stiff animations and no real weight, think of Fallout melee if not worse.
    - Customization: After creating your character with mediocre options (a low amount of presets, nothing new or not seen), you can't really customize or even see your character. There are no cutscenes so you can't even see yourself unless you get to a mirror, at which you have to press a button to see yourself. No clothing shops, no tattoo parlors, not even a barber for this "stylish" future. You can't customize vehicles either, and can only buy preset cars during missions.
-Story NPCs: Are just that, story NPCs. Other than you starting and interacting with them in a mission, they can't be companions or interactable otherwise. Most NPC's that give you quests do it over the phone, so you don't even see most NPCs or interact with them at all. Very shallow and underwhelming.
-UI: Convoluted UI that breaks immersion way too often, all the enemies are highlighted in red, and all the items you can interact with are highlighted in a filter as well, inventory is a mess.
-Crafting: Convoluted and utterly useless and pointless.
-Clothing: All the clothing is gated with stats, which means if you're playing higher difficulty you will look like a complete doofus in order to have good stats. Want to look good? You're probably going to die a lot, but since you can't even see yourself, it doesn't really matter.
-Side quests: Very repetitive, think GTA cop missions etc. You get calls from these story tellers that you won't even interact with, only to do menial tasks that get boring real quick.
-Life paths: Picking a life path is only important for the first three hours, after that you become a street rat/merc and have a few dialogue options down the line that slightly change information you receive but that's it.
-Dialogue options: It's Fallout 4 all over again in 90% of the cases. Your options are "Yes", "Yes, but I don't like it", "Yes, but tell me more" and "No." Very basic and linear.

All in all, Cyberpunk2077 is a beautiful, yet extremely shallow and disappointing world. It's like if you dug out a zombie out of the grave only to give it a boob job and assjob and put on some make up on it. There's a lot of detail but minimal interaction, the AI of Cyberpunk NPC's makes Skyrim NPC's feel like elaborate individuals with complex personalities and motives, and the gameplay is just below average compared to any other RPG that did these mechanics better. And this is all without mentioning the poor optimization and bugs. Overhyped mess that feels like a quick cash grab, would not recommend.

Gameplay is pretty fun. The weapons, cyberware, and perks are pretty cool. Need to buff & fix the crafting system. Wish there was a little more car customization like with the gear. Gear progression needs work though. Don't know why there's so much character customization when it is first person. Driving is great on controller, but needs some tweaks on mouse and keyboard. AI is weak. Lots of systems don't feel fully fleshed out.
Story is pretty alright, not mind-blowing, not horrible. People expecting the second coming of Christ need a reality check. Choices don't really matter till close to the end, and even then it's still meh. Shouldn't have marketed it as such. Characters were pretty great though. This style of game and the freedom it offers is not conducive for a tight and well-paced plot. As a whole basically Deus Ex on steroids and that's all I anticipated. Overall fairly satisfied with my experience and looking forward to improvements & more content.

Combat feels tedious and becomes boring after two to three engagements. NPC’s run around like idiots and even will hide from the player, or get stuck in place, allowing you to blast away at their face. Accidentally kill a civilian during a shootout? Watch as cop NPC’s spawn from out of nowhere and start melting your ass.

The only enjoyment from driving comes from marveling at the landscape but will quickly be ruined by traffic issues and slushy mechanics. Drive all the way across town to discover that quests don’t work or mission assets not functional.

Have fun scrolling through your inventory to either disassemble or sell items and weapons that you no longer have use for after picking them up five minutes prior.

One of the best glitches I encountered, early in my gameplay, was when I jumped onto some trash bags a floor below and was launched into the air off of the building. Yes I died. Yes, my auto save was twenty minutes prior. Lol. I don’t even have enough excedrin to finish this disaster. I honestly believe that it could take another two years to iron out all the issues with the games. But to make the game great, would require going all the way back to the drawing board. The gameplay is stale and old witching a couple of hours.

Graphics are great but the core mechanics of the game are not up to par with standards like gta or other great open world games. The music is great though. ;)

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
