Game is in a mediocre state, absolutely unfinished. And I'm not only talking about the bugs, everything is bad, from the AI to the writing.

I forgave CYBERPUNK 2077 a lot: 40fps, blurry image, monotonous sweeps, stupid artificial intelligence, small bugs, but CDPR's request not to collect or create inventory, for the sake of a stable game, put an end to my patience. Interesting characters and plot no longer save the game. Extremely crude project.

-Only 2 romances for main story is disappointment as well.
-Completely useless V house which u can't even customize
-Bugs, although it's not a big deal
-Game is not challenging me at all (3rd diff level), boss fights are too easy
-Main story is too linear, only in the end game will give us a real(illusion of) choice which can affect story
-Endings killed any replayability for me because all my efforts doesn't matter at all
-80% of skills are completely useless and don't make any difference at all
-Crafting is no needed and takes too much recourses
    -No mini-games
    -Can't change hairstyle

Game feels rushed and lacks a LOT of content, would not recommend to play without dlc or expansions.

Yes this game has its bugs but those are getting patched with a new patch coming out today and more on the way. You can say the game is overhyped because it was and you can say it’s generic because it can be at times but you can’t review bomb a game for being buggy after a few days from launch. This would have been a completely different story if COVID was never a thing. I’m sure it was a lot harder to get things done and it’s not like they are just going to leave the game in it’s current state. I’m giving it a 10, not because it’s a 10, but because people are on here giving a 0 because it can’t run on 7 year old hardware a day after launch. What did you expect a next generation game to run like on last gen hardware. Patch was just released today to fix textures on ps4 and xbox one. You can argue all you want that the game should have been delayed again but if it was everyone would have been pissed about that. The new thing that everyone likes to do is hate on games and I don’t get it. This game is a blast even with the bugs and I’d recommended buying it. If you are skeptical, wait a little for patches but definitely don’t completely ignore it like these guys giving it 0s are saying.

Edit: I take some of what I said back and I'm bumping my score to a 7. I DID enjoy my time with the game on PC where is was not as buggy but it was not the game we were promised.

Game is UNBELIEVABLY beautiful, lively (or at least I thought initially), and fun. The bugs are to be expected of a game so massive, but I do have to admit there are quite a few of them at the moment. I do however have faith that CDPR will not rest until most of them are fixed. Lets hope I'm not wrong, because they like to stay very quiet regarding updates.

As for the story, I hate to say it but it felt kind of cringey/rushed in the beginning of the game. Although as you continue to put more hours into it and discover more characters the story really starts to grow on you. You start truly drowning in the atmosphere of Cyberpunk... In hindsight (after finishing the game), it would have been nice if the romances were more fleshed out and options weren't so limited. I also wish the game showed more depth from other side characters, and that the emphasis on "choice" in the beginning of the game carried on more noticeably throughout the rest of the game.

The world itself is so damn detailed, as if each and every inch was lovingly crafted. From the litter on the ground, to the messy rooms, to the graffiti, the insane textures, the sound design, etc. It feels like the world is alive! Though that's not to say it's perfect, there's much that could still be improved such as having more interactivity within the world (e.g. purchasing property/customizing your apartment, modifying your vehicles, changing hairstyles at a salon, restaurants to eat at, casinos where you can actually gamble, more "adult" content, etc.). The gunplay/swordplay is surprisingly fun, but sometimes the fist fights feel a bit buggy and the game starts to get a lot easier late-game despite having a high difficulty setting.

I honestly believe that most of the butthurt 1 star reviews are from old-gen console plebs. What did they expect buying such a massive game on old tech lol? However, I can't deny the existence of multiple bugs that may frustrate you or break your immersion. I found if you are truly stuck, most of the time saving your game and then loading again will fix most issues.

All in all, this is the type of game that makes you believe in the power and potential of technology. One day we might all be playing in a completely virtual world, indistinguishable from real life. What an experience that will be, hopefully we'll be alive to experience it. And hopefully CDPR will continue to improve upon this game until it is truly the masterpiece that they hyped it up to be. There is so much unrealized potential...

I will start by saying the games graphics are top of the line, basically nothing better. However graphics are definitely not everything and while I enjoy the story i do think it is not game changing or anything too crazy its just ok. The characters can be amazing at times though and some of the side stories are better than the main questline imo.

The game still has PLENTY of jank feeling mechanics. The animations and AI for example are sometimes atrocious. The physics are a joke honestly and a lot of the stats for leveling are practically just "plus 3 attack with this weapon". i would basically say cyberpunk is an rpg-lite not very deep at all. There's lots of customization you can do, but much of it fells kind of pointless and not very impactful whatsoever. Driving is rather boring and the wanted system is practically shoved in with no thought. I do think this game has A LOT going for it but also a lot that just makes it very "last gen" feeling, which is kind of ironic with how terrible it runs on last gen consoles. I did experience many many bugs in my 45 hours so far. I did a decent chunk of side missions, including all the major ones and have had to reload on 5 occasions to an old save losing progress because the game completely bugged out.

Once during a mission I got into a car as I was told, but instead of actually getting in I just kind of stood there and then the car drove away along with the rest of the mission leaving me stranded in an area where I couldn't actually do anything as I was, lets just say, in a heavily scripted story mission.

During the final mission I came out of a sort of cutscene and was just stuck staring at some untextured wall not able to do anything even though in the corner my character was moving on the map.

i fell through the map in my car on one occasion and during one cutscene I spawned INSIDE of the side quest NPC in the car and my game ended up crashing which only happened I think twice. The game also doesn't run too great for me although i'm sure that might be worked on it's just a little stupid for it to be in this condition at launch. I also have to say I'm super disappointed in the way CDPR has handled this launch on ALL platforms, I think it's been a complete mess and definitely needs some fixing otherwise I don't know how fast I'll be in supporting this company in the future.

Playing on PC on a GTX 1080ti with an i7 7700k. So far no problems. Constant 90-120 FPS even in action scenes. The story is just AMAZING. Regarding bugs, not many that can affect your gameplay progression. The world feels a bit empty and the streets are too small for driving. For now it's just a 7, after they fix stuff, I will give it a 9 or 10.

Game is good, bugs are not.
Most of the issues obviously come from poor decision making of the company that made this title, but Im horribly biased because of what this game delivers to me. It really is Deus Ex mixed with GTA, and that was what I was expecting.......with a lot of bugs too, since The Witcher 3 also shipped with a lot of issues.
Things will eventually be fixed though, and

A great if slightly flawed effort from CD Projekt Red. World building is top notch, Lots of detail and attention was paid into this game. Unfortunately it is also flawed in the glitches / bugs. While I have faith the bugs / glitches will be ironed out over time, it was definitely released in not a great state. 7/ 10 now.

Moreover even on a high end PC it's creating a lot of crashes and fps drops & some people are actually addressing their issues unlike the fanboys who I am pretty sure are also facing these issues or I might be wrong but whatever the case is even if you are playing this game on your high end PC or ps5 or Xbox series x please stop defending cdpr. Imagine if this was made by EA,Ubisoft how many of you stupid fanboys would be defending this game? And talk about the base PS4 & Xbox one version it is horrible. Again don't start with the "what did you expect from an old gen console", I have seen this comment basically everywhere now. Not everybody can afford a high end PC & next gen console especially in these tough times. Okay let me elaborate, this game was announced back when PS4 & Xbox one never even released. Moreover even they assured people that they were focusing on PS4 and Xbox one & not the next gen consoles. Also the game was supposed to release in April, lol,ps5 & Xbox series x weren't even announced that time. Even Games like red dead redemption 2, assassin's Creed Valhalla, watch dogs legion runs fine on base consoles. Last of us 2, ghost of tsushima runs great on base ps4. What's your excuse fanboys? World of rdr2 isn't dense comparing to cyberpunk? That rdr2 is all about grasses and trees & Cyberpunk is about buildings? Come one you can do better than that. Rdr2 is still the most detailed game I have seen comparing to cyberpunk. More you defend more these gaming companies will be looting and scamming people. They will just get the chance of getting greedy. And how the hell some are rating this game 10/10 or 9/10? Clearly these people are blind & in denial most probably but if it was a different game it would have been 5/10 4/10. You can't just rate a game 9/10 or 10/10 which is full of bugs & technical issues. I'm not a fanboy or a hater just treating every game companies equally. I hope they fix this game asap but it will take a lot of time and by that time people will be playing something else. Expand

In all the futuristic cars, stylish pedestrians and neo lights, there is a feeling of "emptyness". The gameplay diverges from what is expected from an RPG and the gunfights are not as satisfying as they look. The story, although lazily written in some aspects, is interesting, and the player's decisions do have weight on the outcome. The characters aren't "deep" and some of them just feel dull, but most are memorable.
The graphics are gorgeous, especially the lighting, but there are a lot of texture inconsistencies and visual bugs.
Speaking of bugs, it is hard to play a full minute without something being off, whether it be characters clipping through walls, weird movements, late renderings or AI having manic episodes.
Although it would never match its hype, it is still a good addition to 2020's gaming.

I would be willing to bet that I saw a glitch consistently every 5 minutes and my playtime was about 21 hours when I finished. So really it comes down to how well you can handle glitches and how long they take to fix them. If you can handle the glitches or if they have been ironed out by the time you play, it will probably be a good experience. Is it worth the money right now? Maybe. Things I did not like.
Almost no NPCS you could interact with in the world itself. aside from the 5 side-quest lines, I encountered,

    No good police system.

After you romanced your choice, no new events after that.

Choices did not seem to matter, until the final mission.

So is this game good. hard to say it's ok, you will have fun the world looks amazing
But that is about it. The world is full of npc walking around cars driving but you can't interact with them.
There is one quest I remember in the beginning where you found an npc that needed your help. it was a funny quest but I never saw it again as all quests are dots on the map once you near one you get a phone call for doing that quest most of those are filler quests by simply eliminating or stealing something out of a building.

It's a decent game but has a lot of really bad elements/mechanics that really should not be there after all the great games of the past including their own TW3. It's certainly way overhyped and that's the studios fault completely. Runs fine, at realistic settings for your system but not insane settings. The bugs for me were totally cosmetic 99.9% of the time, no game breaking bugs for me.It's a decent game but has a lot of really bad elements/mechanics that really should not be there after all the great games of the past including their own TW3. It's certainly way overhyped and that's the studios fault completely. Runs fine, at realistic settings for your system but not insane settings. The bugs for me were totally cosmetic 99.9% of the time, no game breaking bugs for me. Things like the driving mechanics are a total joke, the lack of switching to and from 3rd person other than driving is just not good for a modern open world game. All those clothes etc customization and you barely see it. Map is atrocious and ugly, constant nagging on the phone, terrible minimap, no real exploration for side missions it's all with a big ? etc all over the eye gouging map.

The story is ok, nothing epic about it, most of the endings are not satisfying at all and are depressing. The holes in the story and game world are legion. There is no proper true after campaign playing. The world looks great but is empty a lot of the time or has terrible AI space filler bots. The long distance away moving cars are embarrassing, I mean did they play any GTA's since 4 at all? Where are any flying possibility for these cyborgs of the future? Why drive ground cars that look like fancified cars of the past? You can turn off a lot of offensive material but not the vulgar offensive language, the marxist social agenda in this is obvious and revolting. CPDR is staffed with occultist scum writers etc. Keaneu Reeves can take a hike, totally dirt bag and the off putting hollywhoring adds nothing to the game. Runs fine without RT, with RT it's a 20fps hit on a 2060, avg of 40fps 1080p med/high, without RT 60+. I think some quality DLC can help this game, even free would help to make up some good will for this disgraced studio. With doing all the major missions, two full endings, many side missions and skipping most of the police missions with a lot of exploration I had about 60hrs so it's a decent value for the money afa hours/dollars. It has no replay value for me at all, uninstalled it already.

Game is ok as an RPG, better than most games out there, the PC version of the game runs not great, not terrible, very CPU intensive for some reason, my i7 3770k @4.8 GHz bottlenecks the game at only 60 fps even on lowest settings at 720p, in the end I settled on high with ray tracing on medium and DLSS on balance, getting 40-50 fps with an RTX 2070 super.

There are frequent bugs that break immersion and gameplay too, characters often clip through walls, you can get catapulted by walking and clipping into some obstacle, enemies can get stuck, the vehicle you call rains down from the sky ecc, this game probably should have been delayed another 4-5 months, this is almost as bad as Red Dead Redemption 2 at release, almost unplayable but at least it launches.

I expected more from the city, most buildings you still cannot interact with, but some are still accessible, and definitely more compared to last gen open worlds, still, the city and the landscapes look gorgeous. For some reason there are no cars parked on the side of the street in the entire city.

Combat element is fun, the enemies are a bit spongy and level based but makes sense for an RPG, the driving what I find to be very lacking for how they advertised it, no manual transmission, the handling is totally unrealistic, cars start drifting randomly sometimes, there is no way to control the cruising speed, the accelerator is either all the way or nothing and to there is very little traffic for a city of that size, traffic AI is bad, traffic lights turn green as you approach them, I would be surprised if the person who designed the driving experience had a driving license.

In summary, good world, good combat, good rpg, awful driving, technically disgusting.

Stop talking BS like "oh I got a GTX660Ti and only got 20fps," or "worse than EA! Ubisoft! Or Indie studio" cause you can't even upgrade your own drivers! Many people are comparing the game with Watchdog Legion, you know what, recruiting any NPCs is the single selling point of the new Watchdog, and the character designs and abilities are useless. There are only 3 or 4 agents that I use the most and other agents will just stay on the street doing nothing. All the recruitment missions are just random templates and you are saying it is better than Cyberpunk? What? You want more NPC? Better AI? Ask if your PC or console can handle the computation. What a joke.

I know there are several drawbacks like the crafting system or the driving experience, or no metro, lack of outfit customization. But they don't make the game a 0/10. You guys are just downright braindead and pathetic.

And yeah, 1st personal view is a bad idea for this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really didn't want to give a 7 because like most people i've totally fallen in love with the Cyberpunk lore/world/story. Unfortunately though certain aspects just don't match up to great modern day titles like RDR2, TLOU2, Uncharted and GOW. There are some things that they do just as well as the aforementioned titles but other things unfortunately aren't even in the same ball park.
My review is nothing to do with bugs or glitches. Unfortunately you have to counteract a lot of negative hate nowadays so I'm just scoring on my experience from a fairly ok PS5 version. The first things that kind of detract from the game is that a lot of things that were mentioned in the build up that just haven't happened in the actual game. It's really frustrating that we have a Destiny/No Mans Sky release where the game is just nothing like what people expected. Maybe are expectations shouldn't of been so high but there are things like being able to beat the game without doing the main quest that were heavily exaggerated. It depends what point of view you take the missions from I suppose. I really expected given the success of the Witcher we were going to get something on the same level with all the bells and whistles of next gen. I got GTA V mixed with future Fallout/Elder Scrolls vibes but instead we got a clever multi narrative version of the PS4 Spiderman. Fun action but a relatively short story. The side missions didn't make up for the short story despite the heavy touting of the side quests. There were a handful that i enjoyed but I didn't feel like they pushed the action to it's limits quite enough. Only during the Heist mission was I fulfilled. The map is similar in size to Spiderman but has a lot more detail and intricacy. I am extremely disappointed with all the districts that random events don't happen like in RDR2 for example. Considering the was 8 years of build up I think we deserved something on par with a rockstar release. The trailers have been massively misleading. "WHAT DO YOU WANT, YOU WANT A CAR, A HOUSE" all that jazz. You literally have one apartment for the majority of the game. You don't really need any of the cars available apart from the legendary ones you can achieve frustratingly near the end of the game. Fast travel makes the level of detail they spent on vehicles pointless. You cant fire out your car with your weapon like in the trailer. You don't even get the jacket till later on despite it being at the start of the game in the trailer. The orange katana as far as i'm aware isn't an option. The car from the trailer you can easily miss and it's not even that good. It sounds horrible to drive. Finally my biggest gripe is the total copout by CD PROJECT RED where after you finish the last mission you go back to the start before the mission. That's the only problem with Horizon Zero Dawn, it happens in Zelda and numerous other titles. It's lazy. I know there is DLC coming but it seems that it's the icing on all the negative of the game. You spend your whole time trying to become a legend. Get a sweet pad. King of Night City then it all goes. They literally meant "No Future" with all that graffiti.
On the positive side of things I love the story. I love the world. I love the characters. It's just missing that extra something. The clothes are cool.... but we want MORE. We can't even change our players looks after the start screen at a barbers. Silverhand is amazing even if his best line was only in the trailer not the game. The game would go from a 7 straight to a 9/10 if they just added the obvious which everyone expected. It's already got the makings so I hope if they get to do a sequel they don't let us down. Maybe they'll turn it around with the DLC, maybe not. I wish there was new game + as an option, I wish the soundtrack was more of a thing but oh well they have given us numerous multi narrative endings and three different starts. There's an alternate universe where this is the best game ever and I wish we got that.
The story is on the same level as the great modern titles but that's not enough. The gameplay, customisation, immersion all have the makings but don't meet the mark that other games do. I look forward to Cyberpunk 3000.

The story its self is quiet good but doesn't carry any emotion. The games combat is all weapon based and while the weapons are cool and unique, fighting isn't too exciting. the weapons just feel the same because of the friendly and enemy AI that performs worse that Call of duty. Seriously all they do is stand or duck behind cover and occasionally shoot. no getting flanked or getting pushed while your weak or the enemies running away if you throw a grenade. really disappointing. The graphics are quite good and detailed, this is only amplified by the art-style which nails the 'cyberpunk/futuristic'. The city its self feels a bit lackluster. i thought i'd be able to have conversations with random npc's just for the sake of it but no, you can't. while there isn't much to do in the city, this is completely made up for in the huge number of side quests available. the game really shines in how you can customize you character and life. You can choose what clothing, flashy car and how to optimize your body to have futuristic gadgets which make you actually do side missions to gain the cash for these things. overall expected more but still a good game to play but ONLY ON PC OR NEXT GEN CONSOLES. it is unplayable due to bugs on ps4 pro, xbox one X you name it. lacking in the dialogue department. This game should have been a linear action game, just like Half Life. Because it's the only thing it does very well. Great cinematic choices in 1st person. Great graphics, lovely 'Blade Runner' visuals, lighting. Thick atmospheric fog and neons flooding from every corner. You easily get lost in this techno fueled world of lights and grimy alleys.

Fun story, great characters, writing and voice acting. CBP managed to successfully pull off the almost photo realistic faces and they're quite believable, expressive, charismatic.

Here's some assorted thoughts after 20+ hours of gameplay:

    - Exploration of the seemingly big world is quickly flattened by the realisation it's very shallow. It's visually impressive but there's not much to do or discover. The city is quite complex with a variety of distinct districts and themes. I was missing the abundance of 'micro stories' Fallout 4 is packed with. There are so many interesting areas in CBP where I was excited to lurk through and anticipating some small details to make exploration worth it. Sadly, very often you're left blueballed with what it could be or could hide. I explored the desert areas called Badlands looking for some small stories and hidden gems. There were some but very little. It's just too little of any interesting content. I wish they hired more story and level designers to fill in the desolate or unsued parts of the world with tiny things to make the world more exciting. There's tons of great areas waiting to be utilised and reward the nosy and curious players.

    - For a company that never did car games the driving is quite good. The cars feel heavy and surprisingly responsive but just a little bit too drifty. It's hard to keep the car on the road at times. It's fun how differently they all handle.

    - Gunplay, I would place somewhere between Fallout 4 and COD. Classic weapons firing regular rounds feel responsive and they all sound very punchy. Something you may have noticed in RDR2. They have an audible thump, you can almost feel the kickback. Recoil looks believable. Power (energy) weapons also feel and sound strong, although I very rarely tried those.

    - Melee brawls and weapon fights feel OK. Definitely better than Skyrim. It doesn't feel too floaty. It's generally very difficult to implement a satisfactory (in feeling) animations and believable impact of weapons in 1st person. I think they made a good job, for what it's worth. I think my personal favourite in this matter is still Condemned: Criminal Origins or Dying Light where melee weapons really felt heavy.

    - Side quests is something I love in open world RPG games (more on RPG aspects in a bit). I often dose myself with nice a balance of main story and side missions to slowly progress and get lost in a universe. I never stress either. I relish. Unfortunately most side quests feel underdeveloped or just plainly half-assed. I think CBP tried to implement the Ubisoft formula for these and there's really quite a lot of those scattered across the world. Well, although there's plenty and the repetition is not my main concern, they often feel unfinished. Some of these quests sound great at the beginning when an NPC is letting you know what's their problem but after you do it you're often left somewhere in the world with a quick call from them saying 'ok thanks' or worse - nothing really comes out of it. It's hard to put a finger on it. It basically feel often detached and underwhelming.

    - Cars. I really cannot see any point in purchasing any vehicles the game really pushes you to do through some side mission characters. There are no real chases in this game. There is absolutely no need to own a faster/bigger/heavier/offroad car or motorcycle in this game. It's now very clear that CDPR didn't manage to implement AI for traffic, too. All cars in the world follow rails, fixed routes hardcoded into the road networks to provide the bare necessity of traffic flow. It's what you've seen in GTA in the 1997. IF it works, the cars will stop at an obstacle (a car or person only, mind you. Drivers won't stop for debris, barriers or any dynamic object that might be in the way) and just compliantly wait until it disappears. Driving in this game feels unnecessary. Oh and the cars have a 'Stash' once you approach the trunk. Cool thing but I see no use for that whatsoever. In this game you can carry ridiculous amount of stuff on your person.

    - RPG. I think it's worse than what a lot of people say about Fallout 4. CDPR promised tons of branches, choices (I roll my eyes when people romanticise about New Vegas' 'Choices and consequences!'. It's partly true. New Vegas is some kind of a benchmark but it also doesn't give you THAT many options. I digress.). It has very little to do with RPG. It's a shooter.

This game is very immersive with a solid story and great visuals. I think most people's frustration with bugs is that when a bug does happen, it rips you out of the game that much more. I can definitely understand where they are coming from when they get upset, but I don't think it makes the game a 0/10 in any sense.

I don't appreciate beta testing for a game that was sold as ready! Right now the game is 75-80% finished, and the current state sums up to many bugs and glitches, clumsy mechanics to the point where it looks like a bad port to PC - driving is painful, but it goes much further. I love CDPR, but what happened? I wonder if it's some corpo decision to deliver this unfinished and not give the time developers needed to put all that magic we know they are capable of...

Story is great, but there's just not much of it - we get 3 acts in theory, in practice it feels like prologue, act 2, epilogue.
The world is superficial, once you take a closer look you realize there's nothing to do in it outside of quests.
Sound - while "main soundtrack" is very good, radio stations feel extremely limited.

    Interesting but half done ideas:
Rogue AIs, blackwall - we barely get a glimpse of it.
Badlands - almost nothing to do there.
We have all these interesting gangs and factions in Night City and do nothing with them.

    Something on gameplay...
    Good parts:
Lots of fun with hacking, every mission has tons of objects to interact with.
Several ways to approach each mission.
    Some cool ideas for weapons.
Skill trees are a huge improvement over w3 and there's a lot of fun to be had with different builds.
Some cool implant ideas. Mantis blades, kerezhnikov etz.

    Issues with what is there:
    Hacking
The minigame we have is cool but gets tiring halfway through the game, if we're going with minigames ME2 at least had a few different ones.
Not enough quickhacks, I ended up using 2-3 most of the time and I focused on a netrunner build with INT and perks into it.
    Weapons
There's plenty of weapons in the game but many feel the same and that's a problem when you focus on one skill tree.
    Implants
After we get the eye implant, every other one feels like buying a new gun at the store. There should be some sort of animation and more effect in appearance. This is a major theme in the genre.

    Missing and broken parts
Crafting doesn't feel finished. We barely get any schematics, upgrading is not balanced with economy and leveling.
No customization for crafted items, random stats? Another half done feature.
Driving is horrible. Every ride needs tons of space to turn at higher speed and it just doesn't feel right when driving around.
Lots of QoL improvements needed for inventory and UI.

    Loot system
When I can get rare weapons worse than common ones, something just feels off. There's no point in buying guns or armor, you quickly find something better by looting.

    Tutorials
Game fails to explain it's features, I often had to look up how to do something on google, or to understand how some mechanic works.

    UI:
Game just doesn't show me information I need very often, mostly for weapons.
Broken or missing stuff in general Bugs and crashes It's one of the worst releases in that regard I can remember. Witcher 3 had problems at launch but it was nowhere this close. 99% of the time save and reload fixed it but it just takes you out of the game. I stopped counting how many crashes I got after the first act. Lifepaths are a joke The way they were portrayed in promo material everyone expected MUCH more than what we got. We were told they will increase replayability. They don't. They don't matter at all. All that focus on clothes and style in marketing has nothing to do with the game from player's perspective. Ai for crowds and police Crowds are decorations, they were more interactive in GTA San Andreas released on PS2. Cars move on rails, AI is almost non-existent. Police is broken, no other way to describe it. Character creator and customization Extremely limited and you can see why - there's no point in it, we don't see V almost at all. Whole thing looks like a marketing ploy to get headlines about genitals customization. Implants don't change appearance except for mantis blades and hand ones. No way to even get a haircut later. It's 2077, we should be able to do ridiculous things for customization and what we have is more limited than Witcher 3. False advertising What we saw in the trailers and materials was cherry picked, these parts are great but rest of the game is not like it. Game was hyped up by developers as a revolutionary thing. It's nowhere close to that except maybe the huge city and visuals. I've seen some senior devs on twitter blaming it on unrealistic expectations but that just isn't fair. All my pre-release exposure to the game was official promo materials, and I got the same impressions as what to expect as many others did. Marketing created the unrealistic expectations, no one else. Some parts are greatly detailed, some are barely there just to have something. This is a good game at the end of the day, but not the innovation everyone was expecting. What we got is an unfinished product, and even if we ignore bugs it's simply not what the marketing showed us. Last time I was disappointed with a game like that was with ME Andromeda. And CP77 is definitely better, but also we were told to expect much more than with Andromeda.

The driving is a little funky and each car has different handling but the back of the car seems to slide easily like it’s on ice skates that needs some adjusting.

The game ramps up after the prologue and gets much more interesting at that point so it’s definitely a slow burn but worth it in my opinion.

At the end of the day, the game was released too early even after delays and it’s performance even on my specs leaves a lot to be desired. The game is fun but doesn’t really change the RPG genre in any significant way. For these reasons the game gets a 7/10

For referenceI have a 2070s i5-9600k and 16gb of ram and with some adjusting, can achieve 60-100 FPS however it drops quite a bit when driving.

Balancing issues all over the place, like the rate with which you get in-game currency, or how "beefy" enemies are. On technical side of thing, not so recent, but definitely not obsolete or undepowered GTX 1080ti barely gets you 60 fps on medium settings, which look fancy, but not so fancy to keep frame rate this low.

On bright side of things we have great story and interesting characters. Writing is quite good, as for setting and idea in general which can still let you enjoy the game.

To keep this short the game plays and feels like it should have been a linear story game, the focus of development clearly went mostly into the main quest line then they tacked on a bunch of really mediocre or straight up bad mechanics. The game does have highs the aesthetics are impressive, some characters and voice acting are very good, but sadly for me the lows out weigh the highs in a major way and its obvious this game was so rushed that MANY features have been stripped or left in an embarrassing state.

Here's a list of some of the things that were really noticeable and honestly unacceptable for a AAA open world game

    Shallow character customisation

    No vehicle mods

Probably the worst Police AI i've seen in the past 10 years

The open world pedestrian AI is equally bad, has no routines will despawn if you look away sometimes even when looking at them,at some points in the game I've had 3+ of the same npc spawn in the same 10m radius)

No editing or customising your character as the story progresses

Horrible stealth AI, enemies and cameras can sometimes at random detect you through walls. in one of the opening missions, my AI partner for the mission would
just not stealth with me instead he was running around and the Enemy AI just pretended not to see him, completely breaking immersion.

Scripted vehicle fights, you cant do damage to vehicles until they hit a certain threshold of progress through the fight, so you are just firing your pea shooter at them for no reason, until the game allows you to kill them.

The city feels lifeless and boring for an open world there's very little to do outside the main story and side missions, no mini games, the random encounters are repetitive or straight up bugged, saving "homeless" people from skavs but when i turned up there it was people in suits being held hostage, and they don't even thank you or react at all after you save them.

Nothing makes it feel alive its feels like a husk of a city that only serves to be a backdrop for the main questline, which brings me back to the point that this game would have been much better if it was linear.

Ultimately the game can be summed up in one word, Potential, it had the potential to be an amazing game, the setting and visuals are great but it was rushed and stripped of many core things that it needed to thrive, that truly is my real disappointment with cyberpunk 2077

Which I get. But it doesn't necessarily tell you the overall quality of the game. Which I would say is a solid 7. Some people hate the dialogue and writing but I honestly found it to be head and shoulders better than the Witcher 3 which was frequently awkward and forced. As a result I love the characters and the story is pretty good. If you're mad about Keanu Reeves acting... you're an idiot for not expecting it to be the way it was. If you've seen one of his movies you should know what to expect and it doesn't detract from anything.

Does it live up to the hype and claims made by CD Project Red? Absolutely not. The world simulation is shallow and probably doesn't deserve the word simulation. though it was, for the most part, very lovingly crafted. The side quests range from cookie cutter to some being really well crafted and memorable. I would say that I wish the side quests seemed a little more organic to the city as opposed to "hey go blow away some gang members here for a reward from the cops!" These kinds of quests are far too common. But maybe they bit off more than they could chew with how big the map is. I don't know.

In the end i think this is one of those games where what you think of it comes down to the idea and expectations you had of it going into it. After all the marketing, the only real disappointment to me, outside of things I already knew had been cut, is that the world doesn't feel as convincing and lived in as GTA V.

Its fair to be mad at CD Project Red for how over hyped the game was, but in the end... you're the one who bought into it before you played it.

The game deserves any score between 7 and 8. If you wanted a life changing experience then I don't know what to tell you other than that video games will never be satisfying on that level. People giving this a 0-4 need to grow up and turn 16 figuratively if not literally.

What changed is that, as I played, the world slowly began to open up, and there was a lot more story content and world building that happened in that time. I think the greatest flaw of this game is that, if you just cut right to the side content, there won't be much there for you initially, which will turn off a lot of people, but as you get into Act II and beyond, more comes into play. The game hides too much at the beginning, giving you the wrong impression of the game, an otherwise amazing game it suffers because of it's linearity. I love the characters, the story, Takamura and Panam being my favorites, as well as Johnny Silverhand, who slowly becomes a love-able character, despite being an **** to you at first. This game is a solid RPG, even if it forks you into similar or even the same events, regardless of choices you make, but what is there is quite substantial. It's very hard to nail what makes a game an RPG, and despite this game's linearity, the choices you make still feel like they matter. There are a lot of negative things I have to say about this game as well. Cut content, no train, lacking character customization, bugs, voice gender lock, no they/them option at the very least, and while there are relationship and sexual encounters, they're few and far between, and some characters that were ripe for romance and sexual encounters (say like Takamura) are completely unavailable, despite the potential being there. Most of the game's buildings aren't really able to be explored. The game has issues with steady frame-rates even on the beefiest of PCs, let a lone mid range ones. And I see that it's a nightmare on console. All these things do take away from an otherwise GREAT action game with RPG elements, but do not completely destroy the experience. Now coming back to revise this review once more, I have to speak on the INSANE LACK of endgame content. Once you've finished your gigs and police scanner missions, the game is absolutely empty. All those dynamic encounters that they were talking about, and interactivity, just flat out wasn't there. The city becomes an empty shell of what could have been. This was an aspect that they really skimped out on, and I'd really expect actual endgame content from an open world sandbox rpg type game. Honestly disappointed, and all this game's negatives really do make this game a forgettable experience in the long run. The game is a fun time while it lasts, then you'll forget it. 7/10 Expand

CDPR failed to make the game they wanted... and it's so frustrating.

Accounting for all technical glitches players have encountered, there are few aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 which one could call perfected and polished. Be it through creative indecision or a series of development errors, everyone can see the game isn't finished, leaving players with a game which is a jack of all trades but a master of none--scale and story being the possible exceptions.

"This approach to making games is not for everyone. It often requires a conscious effort to 'reinvent the wheel' -- even if you personally think it already works like a charm."

The result should create an ironic element of empathy or at least mutual understanding from both the developers and the consumers. CDPR wanted more for the game, and the players are now left feeling the same. The ability to live out unleashed cyberpunk fantasies aside, there are so many staples of a solid game that are missing. Accessibility features, toggle ADS, and full key re-mapping are just some of the technical norms missing. Those disappointed by the lacklustre character creator--no sliders and limited options to differentiate--won't be pleased by the non-existent capacity to rework their character once into the game; not even the hair can be changed for there are no barbers. Is this an oversight by a seasoned developer? Perhaps, but more likely it was a feature they ran out of time for or it had to be pulled from the game because it wasn't complete or fully implemented. Without purely cosmetic clothing slots and vehicle and apartment customisation--yet more features seen in the Witcher to varying degrees--the immersion is hindered, and it's difficult to truly feel like V is our character. Police spawning behind the player in response to crimes, amateur driving AI, and limited street-side AI reactivity make the deep and commendable world feel like a facade. The cybernetic modifications pale in comparison to Deus Ex's and the driving feels clunky compared to any other non-driving specific game. There is no cover system, and interaction with the world is largely non-existent. The worst accusation in this vein is that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't an RPG, as it was marketed prior to release--now CDPR are calling it an action-adventure game.

And despite all that, Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a bad game--it's terrific. You could accuse it of flattering to deceive and make a good argument that it has disappointed, yet the redeeming features such as gunplay put it on par with existing titles. It isn't next generation by any means, in some instances it's lagging behind and lacks creativity, and that's a shame when the city--the Cyberpunk 2077 world--has been so carefully crafted. With the scale of Night City and all the quests in it, you could easily get lost, unless you should choose to bypass it all with the primitive quick travel system. It's almost prompted with the awful vehicle handling, but then you'd miss out on the fine compliment of music Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, even if the radio menu slows the gameplay and is as barebones as it gets.

The biggest disappointment is that most aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 come with a caveat. There are awesome looking and function enemies, but they appear too infrequently, replaced by run-of-the-mill goons. V and the cast around him/her are well written, yet they are by and large the only NPCs you can interact with. Reams of lore exist around the cybernetics; they sit on the side lines. CDPR have learnt from their development of the Witcher series, and forgotten some basic principles along the way. The signs are there that Cyberpunk 2077 once had broader horizons, and maybe one day we'll be able to explore them. It's a pity that today, however, it only spars with its competitors when it really should have outmatched them.

I've had the usual bug encounters that is reasonable to expect from such a massive game, but then again alsp had some encounters that just showed how this game should have been in production for another year.

Some of the key features you'd expect from a title like this are missing, so I highly recommend the team behind Cyberpunk to start planning some future updates, to clean up the game and make it an actual amazing and breathtaking game, they got a lot of things right, but a lot of the other is either missing or very rushed.

I'd love to see CDPR use some of the profit to get more talent with backgrounds in AI and UI design, the phone and the way crafting works right now is just not polished, and it seems like the developers weren't given enough time to playtest their own game, an example of this could be the crafting your own items. Right now it takes 2 second clicks pr craft, whereas you might have to click multiple thousand times, (theres currently no bundle crafting).

The game is rushed, I love the story so far, the cityscape is simply put just amazing, never seen such a dense metropolis in a video game, yet some key aspects that makes an RPG really flourish is lacking, hope to see some good updates in the future.

First things first, I have to put it out that I am an RPG, Grand Strategies, MOBA and Indie player. Thus, my hopes for the game were higher for the typical RPG aspects and lower for the shooting/combat aspects (as I dont like FPS games).

Optimalisation: Sadly, here on the launch we all were met with harsh reality, the advertised high was new low. Do not even want to mention what old gen consoles had to experience. That was false advertising to get people to buy a game that their PC / Laptops / consoles would not be able to run. Also bugs. Annoying and sometimes game breaking bugs…

Graphics: Now here we have something good to say. The neons, the shades, the looks the graphics. This is truthfully an eyegasm. Even with meteoker settings it was a joy to look at night city, especially on panoramic! Wonderful views that are indeed “breathtaking”. Although rendering sometimes lagged behind

Music: Another bull’s eye just like in Witcher 3, CDPR amazed us with music that just does “it”. The combat music, the radio, the cut scenes – it just hits you there. Great work!

Animation: Now for the animations… It good. However, it doesn’t match the Witcher 3 quality. Sometimes I really thought that the character models were just broken. The mouth animation is also missed. It lags a bot behind the real time which after some time becomes noticeable and quite annoying. However, there are some advances, especially when it comes to character movement during “talks & walks” it feels very natural and not … artificial like in other RPG’s.

Voice over: I do think that voice overs are very subjective however I often had a feeling that V’s or other characters lines were … out of character/situation. IT really annoyed me. However not as much as Keanu. I am really sorry but as much as I love the guy his voice was stale and empty. It lacked engagement, passion, or emotions.

Combat: CDPR has done it. The combat really differs from the W3 format of “just spam right-click to win”. Weaponry varies it has its ups and downs and there is depth to it! Its genuinely enjoyable! Moreover, multi-classing is easy and genuinely a core to the game. The hacking is also amazing! Quick hacks are done the way Watchdogs should have done it in the 1st place!

Progression system: It was a good concept, however the execution failed in some places. While perks for damage or hacks are great, the system of “need 6 in this category to sue this dialog option” is bad. It does not add anything (or change) while requiring levels. However, use of the stats to unlock faster progression in instances is a great idea!

AI: Sadly, the AI is lacklustre, teleports and spawns behind you and is generally annoying. While the pre-spawned npc’s are absolutely opposite and are great – especially guars and their patrol mechanics. I do hope it will get tweaked as it really annoys the player.

Story line: Its great, CDPR made it once again and shown that they know their stuff. Both Main story and side quests (which I really recommend you do fully) are great and flesh out the world. To be honest the story asks questions that are hard for us and it makes you uncomfortable which is great! It has an impact on you. However… the way the ACT 1/prologue are treated is a crime and joke. The part when we meet Jackie and develop our bond should not be sped up as it is in game. It was an unnecessary treatment.

Characters: Once again, great job! Each character has its motives, way of talking, movement, quirks they are unique which really helps to immerse in this world. It really enjoyable to develop the side story lines and flesh out the world even more. Will not say more, just try it for yourself.

Immersion: A good job, but not a great one. The city feels “alive” but with hours it becomes more and more of a husk. Lack of customization in game (beside clothing) and interaction with the “casual” world hurt the immersion effect I the world. I do hope it will be remodeled as it was later on with W3 too but so far it really bothers me.

Romances: Now, listen CDPR. I have never been so disappointed with in game romances as I was in this game. They are uneven, with only 4 on the board. From them all only 1 feels fully developed while the other 3 are just a throwaway and feel so …. Artificial and forced. Few more quests and it would be so much better! Also, the sex scenes in first person were a mistake. Huge one.

Endings: God damnit, they made me cry again. Even that I reached the final mission way early (do not rush main story please) and focused on side missions after I felt crushed by the endings. Absolutely trashed. They are heavy. Because they affect us out of the game too. I do hope that they will be followed in the future DLCs because this is a harsh way to finish the story and we need MORE

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them.
