Im playing on PC with mid range parts for context. Cyberpunk is honestly such a good game, with great story and combat elements. Personally in my 30 hours of play, I have only seen visual bugssand one crash.

This game is getting undue hate from people angry about certain social messages to those that are angry about launch bugs.

To that I say, the social messages are taken out of the context of a dystopian consumerist society where everything is monetized; it's one of the major points of the game. As to the bugs, that was a judgement call on CDPR as to prevent further delays which would have upset an already antsy playerbase.

Aside from the points above, here's my list by list review:

    BUGS
Personally I've been having little performance issue on the PC; the game hasnt crashed and the only bugs I run into are once in a blue moon I will see pedestrians in a T-pose or appear in the engine bloc of my car, which gets bad when I have to move it when cops are present.

    GUNPLAY & COMBAT
I actually like how gunplay is done in this game, as the cover system is tried and true, though I wish you could shift when in cover like in Uncharted or Splinter Cell, however the gun mechanics are well done in that each category of firearm have their own benefits and drawbacks - which are further varied by mods, attachments, and skill tree abilities.

Combat, fist/sword combat, is simple but intuitive, my only issue is that after you level up your character, there are times where it's easy just to rush into a hostile area and stab/punch people to death. It's not always the case, but it makes a lot of engagements feel less dramatic.

    DRIVING
It's pretty good for what I thought it was going to be; different cars have different characteristics and because you need to level up your skill tree, you cant pull a GTA and steal any car you want as you have to work your way up. I honestly havent gotten to the racing segments, but I feel that this is one of the least controversial aspects of the game

    STEALTH & HACKING
I actually really love these aspect of the game as whenever there is a gap between me and a mission, using stealth and hacking often helps level the playing field; the mechanics in hacking are fun though stealth is way to simplified and could do for more mechanics relating to such.

    PLOT & DIALOGUE OPTIONS
Havent gotten to deep into Cyberpunk, but it's kept me invested in some of the characters, while made me think before acting on certain dialogue options or choices because of fear of how it would impact my relationship with the characters I liked.

    OVERALL
It's a satisfying experience on PC, I really think the people with negative reviews arent giving the game a fair chance, so the only thing I can do is give my opinion on the game, and with 26 hours logged into the game, it's pretty decent.

The game is simply great. Not 10/10 cause the old gen optimization is just a failure, but the last patch fixed a lot. Love for the gameplay, love for the story, every mission is different and awesome.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a unfinshed masterpiece and thats disappointing. But when all that is said the game is almost the perfect distopia RPG, the story is simply so unique and charming. so i want to keep this short but want to say, if your ok with bugs (not gamebreaking) and like RPG then buy it. Remember This is not gta in the future!

Expand

The learning opportunity for a smaller company like CDPR is 100x larger than Ubisoft or EA and they care more. CP2077 has it's problems, no doubt, but it's such a great game for PC already and going to get better for everyone in the next couple months.

The only two complaints I have is that some side quests feel really repetitive, most side quests are actually great and intriguing, and that the game would've clearly needed some more time in development to fix bugs and minor issues, but this is something I can't really blame CPDR for because of all the complaints they got from people to finally release it already. All in all it's clear that Cyberpunk won't revolutionize the whole gaming industry but it delivers what it promises, at least on PC. Expand

Good gameplay (once you understand the mechanics).
Amazing world! I haven't played much of the main story yet (I think I'm still in the prologue) but I've managed to sink about 10 hours in just from side quests and exploration. Few bugs here and there but I'd say no more than a Bethesda/Obsidian gamr

I’m sure it does run like crap on consoles, I mean they’re 7 year old hardware and this is a next gen game...

As a final note, I 100% recommend this game especially on PC, however, if your on console, just wait a few months for the game to be patched. Witcher 3 went through the same woes, and that game is one of the best ever made. Don’t review bomb a game based on bugs. Remember: bugs can be fixed, a crap story can’t. Cheers.

While I have the privilege of playing the game on a high-end PC, I can see why console players have had a terrible experience. However, I have greatly enjoyed the Cyberpunk 2077 experience. The visual world of the game is top notch, and the story is well crafted. This is a great PC game, and in retrospect, should have only been developed for next-gen and next-gen only.

And if you think the game is going to play and look the same on a PS slim X box S, and a high end computer you are delusional.

I'm glad that they released this game at one price point, instead of like these greedy big companies that love micro-transactions and making you pay for the game as well as every bit of content that is added! Project red has already said DLC will be added for FREE and multi-player will be coming

My final thoughts are its beautiful, gritty world that was very thought out, it has endless potential to be added and built upon, i had problems also don't get me wrong, but i know they are not end of the world, and will be fixed!! I hope a lot of people understand and will give the game a chance because it's truly something special !!!

In addition, I play on a PC and a very old one, 90% of the hardware is eight years old. I only replaced the graphics card with the GTX 2070 Super because the old cards were no longer supported by drivers and Windows 10 was making me big problems because of it. I play medium details in FullHD. I highly recommend this game, it will only get better with time as CDPR will introduce improvements and new content to the game. The game is huge and has a lot to offer. I approach it, as with any RPG, very calmly and first spend time exploring and side missions. Only then will he become interested in the main plot. I just started the game, I'm after 12 hours of gameplay. During this time, maybe I did 20% of the side missions in one district? I like crafting, I spend a lot of time on it, sneaking can be demanding, hacking has great potential, although you have to learn how to use it efficiently. Hand-to-hand combat can be chaotic at first, but rewarding. The shooting mechanics are at a good level, you have to remember that this is an RPG, not a FPS. It suits me personally. The sounds are at a very high level, both the music and the sounds of the surroundings and fighting. Acting at a high level. Character development is very interesting and encourages you to experiment. The mechanics of driving could slightly improve, so far it is not bad, but you have to be careful while driving so that you do not skid at every turn. Night City is alive and you want to be its resident. The game immerses very well. I give this game 9/10. I receive one point for a large number of bugs. Once they are fixed, my grade will also increase. I recommend it with a clear conscience. Expand

Gun play is fine, I haven’t played COD since black ops two, this is as good as that but it’s an RPG so enemies are a bit more spongy. Driving is better the. GTA. Characters feel immersive. City is immersive if you don’t go looking for glitches which is what most negative reviewers seemed to do. This isn’t Mass Effect Andromeda (which sucked compared to the original mass effect trilogy. Do you need your game to be perfect? No? Buy it. Yes? Wait a few months and catch the first steam sale once it’s been updated and buy it. It’s a great game that will only get better. At the time of writing I have played 30 hours on steam, focusing largely on open world content.

Combat Systems: 8/10 The gameplay systems in cp2077 are super robust. The leveling system allows for interesting gameplay choices that both world traversal and combat strategy. Melee can be floaty, and encourages spamming, but it feels visceral. Shooting starts slow but is excellent once you grasp the systems. Stealth sucks, but stealth sucks outside of dedicated games. That simple. Hacking is my favorite gameplay system. Initially confusing but both remote hacks and quick hacks provide fun traps to set, impressive crowd control, and substantial burst damage. Being a cyberwizard is great.

    Driving: 7/10

The driving in the game needs tuning. It’s important to note that your starting car is garbage, replace it ASAP. The motorcycles feel great though. The car designs and sounds are gorgeous. Overall however, the cars are to hard to control and the driving minimal needs to be zoomed out so you don’t miss turns as often. Driving should feel painless, unfortunately it often turns you into the DUI maniac murderer of night city.

Enemy Combat: 6/10 - 8/10 (if AI fixed)

This is an unfortunate hit for the game. The enemy design is great, with different enemy kits putting stress on pretty much any strategy you adopt. From katana wielding ninjas and grenades flushing you out of cover, to snipers and enemy net runners punishing long range approaches, and high damage riflemen discouraging run and gun, when the enemy AI holds together it provides a challenge.
Enemy health is high, but animations add responsiveness and staggers and stubs from weapons add to combat flow. The problem here is with a bug that causes enemy AI to drop out of combat. Super anticlimactic and frustrating, and it happens often. This should be a top priority fix.

    RPG Systems: 8/10

The choice in the game is often only shifts dialogue rather than outcomes, however there are quests that react to your choices that feel potentially impactful. Some quests can be failed as well which is fun. The rpg elements in terms of character builds are excellent. Make sure to save up and buy cyberwear, it changes combat dramatically. The cash economy in this game is fantastic, it is slow to earn Eurodollars for upgrades, quests, and cars without being a soul crushing grind. I love the balance here.

    Design: 10/10

The visual and audio design are incredible. Best in the industry. Artful. Character designs are unique. Interiors individually decorated, exteriors breathtaking. The soundtrack absolutely slaps. At times emotionally moving, others blood pumping. Unique dirty synth tracks for each enemy faction add intensity and a unique feel to each fight.

    Open world: 9/10

The level and map design is incredible. The twisting and layered streets of night city are full of surprises and conflicts. I think many have noticed the lack of rdr2 style open world events and attribute the world feeling dead for this. In the game you have to look for content by following up on gigs and NCPD events. When you do, you find the world is packed with content that is all individually designed and often has chains of quests and events. The open world content is more in the Ubisoft style where you go to map icons. Unlike Ubisoft games however, the content is actually quite interesting.

    Mini games: 0/10

There just aren’t any. Don’t personally care for them though. What I would desperately like to see are more simulation style events such as sitting at the bar, playing music, playing pachinko machines, etc...

    Quest Content: 10/10
Broken into main/side quests, gigs, ncpd Main/side: incredible writing, human characters, crazy set pieces. Functionally excellent as a stand alone action game. Side quests are at the same quality as main missions often.

Gigs: Open World quests that are way more interesting than expected. Always include a bite of story or world building. Sometimes even dramatic surprises.

NCPD: The most open world style of quests. These have less story but interesting level design adds variety. Much more engaging than typical bandit camps due to level traversal and enemy placement.

Philosophy: Some criticism has said the game is without philosophy. If you take the time to read the written content in game, the struggle between tech and labor, growth of AI sentience, distorted politics and advertisement, and the struggle between ambition and risk all add tension and mystery.

When the glitches affect a mission's completion that's when it becomes a problem and the only reason why I gave it a 9 rather than a 10. I believe CDPR will fine-tune the game as they have with the witcher (a game I replay to this day). While I am upset they are getting such a bad rap for the bugs it's needless to say if no one complained they probably would have left the game as is. The game is a delight and a very fun time. Nowhere else will you see an RPG that includes, FPS, detailed and non repetitive missions , side missions and gigs, platforming, exploring, challenges, easter eggs, comic relief, drama, suspense, thrill and much more the way this game does it! To give this game under 6/10 is just stupid, with the amazing story, graphics, leveling system.

The reason I give this game a 9/10 is because a 10/10 game should be perfect in every shape or form.

Had no issues at the PC. Some minor collision / object clipping , but that sis not a deal braker, especially for the scope of this game.

The story and shooting mechanics are the strong card of this game at the moment. The city and environment is very well thought out and detailed.

One of the things i didnt like so far is the driving, which could be better.

I also think that when development started they were thinking the hardware was going to be much further along especially on GPU design (everything looked on pace during the 10 series Nvidia graphics cards, then a pretty much 5 year lag for true "Next gen" versus the 10 series, no competition AMD non competing etc) but a lot of people don't realize the amount of features they were able to (want, forced, paid RTX*) to incorporate into the game, the impact of that on performance, the development cycle of creating so many versions of the game while trying to debug and polish them all at once.

I have played a bit about 9 hours, with DLSS quality I get 54 to 60 (V sync at 60) at 4K performance is good to great for me, several hard crashes (to desktop), I own the Witcher III, but could never get into it due to feeling lock into this "Movie" masquerading as a game. I feel like they were able to bridge the gap with this one. Feels more like a game than non skippable endless cut scenes, GTA except with good to better than good gun play, GTA with Good to Decent driving ( I don't crash like I did in GTA not due to limited skill, but the game mechanics of it being better/more controllable). Last gen consoles was going to be a blood bath and the only known quantity in performance they would have had and should have known it would not run/perform in a meaningful manner a repurposed mobile processor and a mid to budget level 8 year old to 5 year old GPU, (only so far you can downgrade a game until its a fuzzy soup of an image). Feel like the marketing would have been best served with a "plays on all consoles, PLAYS BEST ON PS5/SERIES X AND ABOVE...

What a lot of users seem to forgett is that
#1 The Witcher 3 had also a rough start
#2 That a lot of great games (Oblivion, Skyrim, Crysis(1) ect) were buggy or needed years of development in the PC hardware sector to even be playable on a PC. Cyberpunk is a game that will define the next years. Most of the reviews here so far sound like they try to win a F1 race with their old Ford Focus.
and #3 Every developer has crunch times with a lot of overtime right before release. At CD Project Red is on the lower end when it comes to crunches. Sadly crunches are a part of this industry.

The only problem I have so far is, that you can't change the visual appearance of your character in game after you left the character editor. There no barber, tattoo artists or piercer in the city. You cant even change your makeup. So at least right now you really should be 100% sure about your V before you start the game.

The bad: CDPR simply should not have released this game for older Xbox or PS4 consoles. It's simply too demanding and those 7+ year old devices cannot handle even a toned down version of the real thing. Give it 24 months for enough people to upgrade & patches to optimize/fix bugs and add some more content and this game will be a classic. Not to mention the multiplayer mode rumored to be coming in 2022. I'd love to see revamped driving physics & more vehicles added, and more interactions with random people on the street. The messages system seems clunky to use, and the lack of auto-pickups for stuff like cash is annoying - at least give us a setting for it! Despite all of these negatives this game has incredible potential and deserves a 9/10 - assuming CDPR delivers on future updates (which I'm confident they will, given how much $$$ they have invested in it).

Thankfully it gets better from patch to patch and we are only 3 days in so... If cdpr keeps it up game will be 10! 10en it's only 9 due to bugginess
Also RIP consoles bc let's be real the majority of bad ratings is gonna be caused by them

but to say this is bad game course of the graphics, is some what arguable to a point. When you are playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a console that's over 7 years old, you will get difficulties running this game. this game still tanks on high end pc's how are you going to expect a console that's 7 years old play it on peek performance, even pc that's more then 4 years old is going to have trouble.

but this game is not perfect it has its flaw, and i do see this game to be much better later on this coming year and years as they have said that the expansion will be released later, and with optimizing from CDPR.
So for the people who cant play it right now course they cant buy it, or want to upgrade there PC/console or waiting for CDPR fixing the game plus releasing the DLC/expansions. You have entertaining game ahead of you.

And to all of you Chooms that's complaining give it an extra try, with renew view on the game

There are also a ton of side quests that are very fun (some of them) and you can easily lose track of time doing them.
The visuals are gorgeous - on PC at least, but you will need a beefy PC to be able to run everything at max and RTX ON. Even without RTX enabled the game still looks amazing!!!
Now the sad part...this is an RPG...but there are not so many guns or clothes to choose from. The crafting system is also weak, the customization of your character appearance at the beginning of the game is somewhat weak also.
...AND...It is a bug-infested game...all aspects of this game are riddled with bugs:
    - bugged main story
    - bugged side quest ( some of them)
    - bugged audio
    - bugged NPCs, cars, objects in the game, the AI, even the character you create has visual artifacts.
But bugs aside it is a very good game.

The only bugs I've run into so far are a couple phones floating in the air and some object/characters appearing out of nowhere. Graphics are amazing, and the city is a constant wonder to me. It feels like every inch of the world was crafted with love, and it's hard to imagine the time and effort that went into making it feel like that.

The gameplay is similar to a more fleshed out Deus Ex game, which I find extremely satisfying (the original Deus Ex is one of my all time favorite games). I started CP2077 on hard, and found it actually challenging in the early hours of the game. Once I started building out my character though, that early challenge made me feel extremely powerful, in a way not many games do well. Either you get overpowered early on and things feel cheap, or you don't start getting actual power until way to late in the game. I felt like I had to think and invest wisely to get to the point I am at, and it felt amazing to me.

The one thing I haven't really enjoyed so far is the brain dance activity. The training bd was fine, but the second one in the penthouse was just frustrating. I searched and searched and could not find anything else when it said there was more. I continued along assuming I was just missing it and stopped caring after like 10 minutes of flying around a room looking at every nook and cranny to then find what I needed later in the bd... but the previous things were still showing as needing to be found. I went back to be sure, and still couldn't find anything. Not sure if I missed something or if it was showing incorrectly... but it was NOT fun. The several dances I've done after that one have been fine, but I've dreaded bd's whenever they have come up after the penthouse.

It's really unfortunate that not everyone has had the experience I have had. There are definitely game breaking issues for some people, and I'm happy I've been able to enjoy the game right away. Hopefully it won't take too long for patches to show up that fix these issues so that everyone can see the beautiful game that I've been able to experience so far.

Good morning all ! Today I want to publish my opinion on this game.
I'm not used to posting a review on a game, but having been a real slap in the face for me, I think it deserves it.
    ______

To put my opinion in context, know that I was not particularly expecting this game. I was expecting it from afar, knowing more or less what to expect.
    ______

This game was a real slap in the face for me. From start to finish, the game makes us experience a lot of emotions. Going from joy to sadness, from serenity to stress, from confidence to doubt, the game will make us react and feel a whole lot of emotions.

We will also have to think about our choices, and this throughout the adventure because yes, in this game, our choices can (each on their own scale) change the course of the game. Certain choices during the side quests can also have a affect the end (s) of the game.

The writing quality is just perfect. As well for the main quests as secondary, the whole is coherent and fits perfectly with the lore and with this "beautiful city" that is Night City.

Speaking of the city, is it truly extraordinary. It is teeming with life and things to see. The game map will give you a feeling of enormous freedom at times, and will crush and compress you at other times. The playing area is extremely cohesive and breathes life. Its dark side may also hide some surprises from you.

On the gameplay side, I found the game as a whole very enjoyable to play. The fps view really adds a plus to the immersion, especially in the cutscenes. The few sequences of unarmed combat are slightly more messy, but largely playable as well. Driving a vehicle is good without being extraordinary, it is nevertheless extremely pleasant to explore the surroundings of Night City on a motorbike, for example, in order to discover the landscapes and the magnificent points of view that CDPR has offered us in this title.

As for the RPG and customization side, I found everything to be very complete and malleable. Sometimes it lacks tutorials for some things, but overall everything handles pretty easily. It is really possible to create, equip and specialize your character as you want, which allows for a lot of different gameplay styles.

As for the optimization of the game, I had no major worries about my configuration (3080 / 3600x / 16gb / 1440p), even if keeping 60 fps stable in the city center is not easy, even with a 3080. The ray tracing is however extremely greedy, so personally I deactivated it, and the game is still magnificent.

In terms of graphics, the game is simply superb. The animations are consistent, and the facial animation adapted in real time is really a plus for the immersion. Some sets are simply beautiful, both outdoors and indoors.

Regarding bugs, yes I had a few. But no bug really blocked me in my progress. Most of the bugs are graphical, like animation bugs. I did not really have any blocking or annoying concerns throughout my adventure.

So there you have it, in summary, I really loved walking around Night City, and I already miss this little world. I can't wait to get my hands on future DLCs so I can dive back into this extraordinary world. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in a huge and cohesive world.

It's not perfect. There are numerous glitches. CDPR has proved over their history thus far that this game will continue to be supported, and I believe it will be adjusted and performance will improve shortly. But this is possibly the most interesting RPG released since the Witcher, despite its faults.

This game would never have lived up to the hype some people set up for it in their own minds. Viewed through a realistic point of view, the game is great.

The story is perfect, the replayability is perfect (im on second replay with a mod menu), gameplay could use some new weapons and is a bit stiff, city is amazing only gripe is those god damn NPC ragdolls (they are so flimsy and die easily please fix the NPCs), and finally the performance on my i7 CPU with a GPU of AMD RX XFX 5700 XT with high textures, mostly medium settings (with some high and some low), 1440p Resolution, and with Dynamic FidelityFX CAS at MIN 90 MAX 100, I get an average of 55 - 70 fps. On my first play through I had the same settings but on high settings WITHOUT Dynamic FidelityFX CAS and I STILL got an avg of 40-55fps. The bugs are noticeable but the only ones that seems to stick out in the mainstream are the scene where a main character dies in a car and they have nothing in their hand when they are supposed to be giving you something and the other one is a lady after a side quest ends (the one where u and her go to the docks) stands in place and starts a walking animation but then it cuts half way through and it does this over and over. Also it has multiple endings depending on the certain side quests you do. I got an ending that imo, is the best but I want to play again and definitely try to get another one. Overall, after some free DLC and bug fixes within the next 6 months it is easily a 10/10 and on the same level of a game as RDR2 but for now because the DLC and bug fixes are not out it is a 9/10 for me. Cant wait for the multiplayer and really hyped to see how that goes down. One final thing, because of the endings I have seen online and the one I got I am more than intrigued to see how a DLC adds extra content. Also FINALLL thing, there are mod menus and mods so dont worry about the game dying. This game will last the same how RDR2 lasted and RDR2 is still lasting as a amazing game so they already said they will turn cyberpunk into a franchise so I am hyped for CDPR's next moves and I hope you get this game. The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
