    Cyberpunk 2077 is the quintessential game for 2020: so much promise only to greet us with wildfires and overwhelming disappointment. This was greed and cockiness at its best. CDPR lost a lot of respect I had for them, especially with how much I loved The Witcher 3. The game is the buggiest AAA game I've played in my 31 years of life: random crashes doing random things.     This not the game the promised us, pretty sure fallout 76 wasn't this bad. If the don't fix this I'll never buy a project red cd game again. This not an rpg and even ark runs better

    The new standard for "overpromise and under deliver". CPRD literally spend 3x as much marketing the game as they did for dev and it shows. Despite being in development for years and years *allegedly* the majority of the game was just tossed together in like 3 years.     The same is very short if you only follow the core story. The story is bad. The same also has maybe 25% of the features advertised in the run up to launch and that's being generous. HUGE sections that were advertised as much as 2-3 months before release were cut. Entire quest lines just end with no resolution or follow up.

    Driving, a critical skill in the game, is literally the worst driving mechanism in the last 20 years of gaming. It's like each car as roller stakes. AI is basically non existent. Cops spawn right next to you and just open fire. All civilians react the exact same way. Cars far away are rendered as 2d animation and obviously disappear as you get close. About 1/3 of the perks in game don't actually work and another 1/3 are basically useless such as being stealthy underwater (literally never used in gameplay and 100% completed game). There's endless things to complain about.

    This isn't even getting into the endless bugs, crashes, and graphical glitches. As of 1.3 it's not unusual at all to see cars vault off the street and into the stars, civilians all dressed the same, and destroyed cars zombie driving around with dead drivers.

    CDPR promised the stars and instead sold a $20 bargain bin title for $60.    … Expand

    What a complete disappointment. The worst (so called) AAA title that I played.
    I've completed boring the story, but luckily I didn't waste any time on side quests.

Again, the story is incredible, I'm 25 hours in and I'm absolutely loving the gunplay, customization, and the story. If you can look past the bugs and optimization issues (which I highly doubt you can), you'd be a fool or SJW to give this game any less than a 9. The problem is, you can't overlook them, they stick out like a sore thumb, and for that, I have to give the game a 6. If they eventually patch out all the issues and optimize this game, I will happily no questions asked, give the game a 10. It really does deserve that, but they need to fix these issues, it's unbearable.… Expand

Some of you can say ps4 or xbox one are obsolete consoles wich it’s true but they are moving rdr2 perfectly so the blame it’s obviously not those machines.     Hi. CP2077 have a lot of problems, but main problems is dead city, stupid AI and disbalance rpg elements. The CDPR wasted tons of maney and time. They lost confidence of gamers.

There was no PS5 or 3090, not even as a project. 8 years later I find this dismal quality of a sloppy game running on a console that moves TLOU2. Even GTA5 (a game from 2 generations ago) has more pampering and care in its guts than CP2077. It's a shame what CDP has done with this game on consoles. For going bad itI bought PS4 in part for this game (announced in 2012-2013 for PS4). But I have decided to give it a 0 (ZERO) due to the deliberate deception that CDP has made by hiding these versions from the consumer and by denying access to these versions to the specialized press so that they could not make the respective analyzes, in addition, forcing the use of images controlled by CDP.     Negative: Gameplay is outdated. AI is outdated. Random encounters are non existing. Stealth feels like 20 years ago, but even games from 20 years ago did stealth better. The world feels just like a backdrop. There are almost no interactions with the world or random encounters that feel like you are a part of a world. The are almost no decisions to make that have an Impact on your character or the world. The 3 starting paths are a joke. The main story is kinda ok but nothing special, was hoping for more corruption in the world, politics, interesting character stories and relationships. Or at least a way to choose what kind of character I am, by making decisions, choosing my path. But there is nothing. It's just do quests for one character, than for another character and then again. You can't join a corporation and do work for them, or be involved in politics, or do quests for them, or for the military or for any faction. It's super weird. Feels really weird. And Johnny Silverhand, most annoying character, and the character you play? He is just a empty shell. Weird game and honestly didn't enjoy as much as I hoped I would. And I don't want to even start with the bugs on PC. I think some people can enjoy this game and find something they like. But for me everything is just mediocre or below mediocre and nothing really sticks out that I can hang on to.    … Expand

    I don’t like being lied to, and that’s all that has happened with this game. There are some decent elements of rpg here but it’s not really an open world, there’s no semblance of AI and Jesus the bugs make performance and picture hell. MAYBE it’ll be good in a year?

    . I would suggest either using a top end pc or not getting the game at all. I reached out to cdpr for a refund request and have yet to hear back. The game is unplayable. Cdpr are liars and theives. Do not waste your money please. I am giving 2 points, 1 for the semi interesting story and 1 for the character panam.

    The story is not as interesting as possible. No choice. Opponents cannot do anything to the player. How could CD Project do this? After "The Witcher 3", I don't believe they are the same studio. Never again in my life will I buy your games, much less pre-orders.

    Lots of bugs, I don't think it got with my expectations when ever I tried to immerse my self in the game one of other frustrating or immersion breaking bugs or some time crashes show up. I just completed witcher series and hoped to see at least a game of that quality or even better but I am utterly disappointed.

    Followed the development of this game since announced in 2012. What a let down. I'm playing on PC (i7 9700k w/ RTX 3080). So much potential, yet you can clearly see where the cut content was suppose be. Lots of bugs. I feel for console players right now since this game was announced before the launch of the XB1 and PS4. CDPR (not the devs), you have let the gaming community down.

In the specs it was written that the recommended video card gtx1060, but on this card the game barely gets 30 unstable fps on the lowest settings. It is impossible to play, and the console version of the game is even worse, I am very disappointed that I can not get a refund for the game.

    1-Story:
    Not gonna spoil, but a certain turn of events clears the air about what "it's about saving yourself" means, and pretty quickly. Maybe too quickly. As "too quickly" as the game tried to forced us to care about certain characters, by simply throwing a 2 minutes montage at us. Dialogues feel like a mere excuse to make JALI shine, and the whole plot (including a few plot holes) feel rather lackluster;

    2-Gameplay:
    If you are a controller type of gamer like me, you'll prolly be very disappointed. I'm not really sure what "Aim Assist" means in the game settings, but it certainly does not help with aiming, which remains a torture. Driving would deserve a chapter of its own, but let's say that at the time of this review, most of the cars felt like old muscle cars with 0 handling and poor braking power. At some point I've decided to simply fast travel to destination(s).
    Hacking and other mechanics don't bring anything new to the table, while stealth sessions are probably the most frustrating: your companion typically screws them all, by following you like a drunk hobo trying to walk a straight line while you're trying to surgically sneak past enemies.
    Speaking of drunk hobos: Melee combat. Seriously, I'm well past my 40s (and I went through a 30-ish rather long gaming "career") but I was yet to see anything as terrible as this. Not even 4D Sports Boxing on the Amiga 500 felt as terrible (and I'm talking about a game from 1991). Enemies benefit from some sort of perks that I wish to have, because they manage to deal damage through your "blocks", and somehow even get to hit you even while swinging in an entirely different direction.
    I'm giving gameplay 1 point because it is so bad it brought me memories of what gaming felt like in the 80s/90s: Nostalgia point.

    3-Graphics:
    I'd say the only 2 things that shine in this department are Night City and npcs Mo-Cap.
    The city actually has the cyberpunk looks, even tho they just remain "looks". The so much anticipated (sexy) private shows are mere cosmetics *coff* baits *coff*: that felt rather depriving, for an heavily sexualized city as a cyberpunk city should be. Not to mention food kiosks, where you can't order anything (anti-covid restrictions?)
    However, the sprawling metropolis is not flawless either, and you will notice it pretty quickly as npcs vehicles take incredibly sharp turns, and crowds frequently spawn/despawn, or bump into each other like mindless zombies (was that the reason why crowd density got nerfed?).
    Dead npcs look like ragdolls from a 2004 game. They just unnaturally lie on the ground, legs often bent as if they were broken.
    Npcs Mo-cap is top notch. Unfortunately, that alone is not enough to save the "Graphics" day.

    4-Audio:
    Music is top notch, and in general, the whole environment features plenty of happy little audio details that cyberpunk fans are likely to appreciate (like the "walk"/don't walk" from Blade Runner).

    5-Technical (AI):
    As I mentioned above, there's still lot to do in this department. Just one example out of many: I've accidentally shot a few rounds of my assault rifle and everyone around me ran away, in panic. Some of them remained out of my apartment door, crouching in fear, for days.

    Conclusions:
    Guess this what happens when you let people who managed to sink a franchise as successful as Mass Effect on board. Or maybe, that's what happens when you pump hype to the roof. Not gonna lie, if this was a game I learned about just a few months ago, I'd prolly gave it 6 or 7/10. But the hype that came with it -and the continuous delays- raised the bar of my expectations to the point I couldn't avoid calling cdpr out on this.
    That said, I'd like to think we should stay positive about the future: The Witcher 3 suffered from a very similar "troubled launch", and they managed to turn it into a milestone. I don't see a reason why Cyberpunk 2077 shouldn't face a similar fate.    … Expand

    This game shows how game industry lies to their customers with their lazy jobs. Did this game took more than 8 years or a decade to develop? If that was true, 1. The NPCs and character would have shadows. The way NPCs move, looks like low poly characters. 2. There isn't 3rd person perspective only because someone    TLDR: Delayed 3 times only to present a 30fps game with buggy NPCs.

    This game shows how game industry lies to their customers with their lazy jobs. Did this game took more than 8 years or a decade to develop? If that was true,
    1. The NPCs and character would have shadows. The way NPCs move, looks like low poly characters.
    2. There isn't 3rd person perspective only because someone wanted to cut off the budget and went lazy. Can you see the main character V's shadow in photomode? Can V lean on wall with photomode pose? Hell V doesn't need to use lip in conversation and has way too limited animation. This shows how lazy the job was.
    3. Have you seen early game's car design? Looks like just made of trash canister. I don't know about late game tho, but not getting any motivation to pursue any high end car. Don't tell me I need to watch their marketing to get that motivation.
    4. Ohhhh hoooo and the lies about being ready to ship and day1 patch. I didn't buy a $700+ hardware parts only to reduce the visual settings. Let alone the console guys.
    5. And why not supporting full ansel. If it was 3rd person game, anyone would have been satisfied with toggle between fpp and tpp as well as that in-game photomode.     One of the greatest disappointments in gaming, and the most overhyped game ever in existence. Everything in this game is a quick hack, if not for graphics and voice overs I'd think the game was in development for a few MONTHS at most. Bugs are the least of its issues, the game overall has bad gameplay and is boring in general. No reactivity from the world at all!

    Had this game been a fine polished product I would give it a good rating, 7-8/10 perhaps. But in its current state Cyberpunk 2077 feels as a early-beta, which is unacceptable for a 60€ game.

    I cannot run this game with RTX 2080S at 1440p without raytracing.     Honestly the game functions. That is all. It has some cool things, but I had faaar more fun playing Deus ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided / which was defiled and ripped in half by Square Enix thanks to greed /. Many bugs. If someone reads this review - if you reaaaally reaaaally want to play it - probably wait till CDPR patch the whole thing.

    The game, while having a lot of potential, is marred by glitches, bugs, and a myriad of issues. Lip sync is off or their mouths are moving, menus not showing up besides buttons, heavy pop-in on people and textures or just tanking FPS. It doesn't feel finished despite the crunch the company claimed needed to happen.

    I'll start with the cons, which there are many of.
    - Very bad optimization issues, There is evidence that suggests the game runs better on intel CPU's and they did not bother to test on different hardware or lower hardware
    - No customized sliders for your character just a couple presets
    -No way to color or personalize your weapon, Just the scopes and silencer mods including all the smart targeting optics
    -Low vehicle variety, In which many vehicles are generic and repasted
    -No garage to store vehicles in or anywhere to customize them in the game or upgrade them
    -No customizable or purchasable properties that you can customize or live in, even your apartment is just a loot store, despite moving up and earning thousands of eddies you are stuck in a small apartment
    -NPC's barely react and have no awareness to the game world. Giving overused one liners. There's little if any NPC's that have the option of talking to unless they are part of the main story. AI walk through walls and are non responsive
    -Quests are just fetch and kill, steal this, infiltrate this place.
    -No cop car chases in the year 2077 in a city that has a high tech specialized police force. Plenty of cop cars are seen roaming the street but they will not chase you.
    -No option to rob vendors or stores, No option to break in. Vendors are just locked inside with no clear way to how they got behind their own counters, Their shops don't even have backdoors that are visible behind the counter
    -Cops spawn next to you and if you're driving and running over pedestrians they spawn in front of you, They spawn out of nowhere and in front of you
    -You don't carry a bounty for your actions even though almost every other character does
    -There is no pathfinding or AI for the NPC's driving
    -Lifepaths don't matter, There is no affiliation or roleplaying to a certain faction that you can choose even though there are multiple gangs. You will end up in the same story no matter what choices you take
    -Your choices don't matter, and even if they did you don't have any options in the way you play, no viability
    -Story throws dialogue and names of people you've never met in the first 10 minutes confusing you
    -The story is weak and uncompelling, The characters have no depth and they are forced

    The pros
    -The city is big and feels like a cyberpunk city when you drive around, the atmosphere and world design was done very well. This is where I suspect they spent most of their effort in development
    -The combat is unique in that you can use an assortment of weapons, melee and tech. I was impressed by the smart targeting weapons.
    -There are some memorable and catchy songs that fit well, my favorite was Namakopuri- Pon Pon Sh*t.

    Overall the game is flawed not only from a technical look but also from just the gameplay. It fails to deliver on a true RPG experience as it was once advertised as which generated a lot of the hype. As an action adventure FPS it's mediocre and suffers further when you take into account the lack of depth in the gameplay.    … Expand

There were issues with the LOD system clearly removing and adding buildings and objects near the player.

    I ran the game on an RTX 3090, AMD Threadripper 3970x. was able to achieve 4K 60fps with DLSS set to Auto, but not on Quality. the FPS elements were not fluid at all though, so I preferred to play it out at 1080p and only switched for long drives, sightseeing & roaming.

    I hope this is a lesson learned for CDPR. One look at glassdoor reveals many development issues. Sad.    … Expand

    Now we all know that this game is terrible, blurry on both XBox and PS4, and bug out all the time.

Landing headshots after headshots makes for repetitive experience unless you are a fan of John Wick/Johnny Silverhand. Not to mention bullet sponge enemies that soaks up more bullets than in the Division. The driving mechanics is just awful and reminiscent of Driver from PS1 era. Hand combat is worst than Mike Tyson's punch out, even Little Mac throws better punches.

    Cyberpunk is definitely the most overhype game of this decade and won't be the last. Considering that WB published the game, I'm sure there will be a sequel. Lord, please spare real gamers the pain and agony from a poor product hyped by the positive reviews from non-gamers.

    NPCS in cars operate on rails, they cannot react, there is NO AI, no navmeshes. Cops cannot persue you except on foot, the drones can't even catch up to your car - they can however teleport wherever you are. (Broken bounty system) Graphics are amazing but this is a shiny, gold plated turd- and you can still smell it.

I have not encountered any game-breaking bugs but some have impacted what were supposed to be serious story moments and lowered the quality of my experience. If you are willing to turn down your graphics settings to get reasonable frame rates and arent too bothered by encountering a small bug every 20 minutes or so the core of the game is very good. If you are like most people these things do not make the game worth full price in its current state and so it will likely be more worth buying the game later down the line when bugs and optimization issues have been fixed.… Expand

    The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

    Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

    Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
