More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, players experience Psycho's parallel story during the events of the original game, finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined. Luckily, Psycho's Nanosuit is just as capable and he's equipped with an even bigger arsenal of fully customizable weapons and new vehicles, giving players access to the tools they need to dominate any situation. Aside from this new single player campaign, Crysis Warhead also features new multiplayer content. [Electronic Arts] Expand

  1. CryTek demonstrates again its hegemony in first person shooters and it does it with a new gem. A brief campaign but charged with a shining pace is its main attractive, and in this occasion the multiplayer section has become one of its main highlights too. A new demonstration of the unquestionable health of the action in the 21st century. We don´t usually like to talk about the price in the final conclusions, but the possibility to buy a game like Crysis Warhead for just 30 € is a fact to consider.
  2. At 29.99 (USD), there’s no reason not pick this one up. Even if you haven’t played its predecessor, you can’t go wrong here if you are an FPS fan.

There's plenty of bang for your buck, and attempting missions over again in harder difficulty modes can really prove themselves as addicting challenges. Throw in the extraordinary Crysis Wars multiplayer, and you've got yourself an absolute steal.
  4. If you take a fabulous game with astonishing graphics, good sounds and gameplay and add a new story, the result will be more than satisfying.
  5. Still one of the prettiest games ever, Crysis: Warhead improves on its predecessor in every way. It's just a pity that there isn't more of it.

Obligatory for original Crysis fans, interesting opportunity for the rest of the universe to try one of the best game engines. Where graphics excel story harms the overall score. [Oct 2008]

    More maximum mayhem

    More maximum mayhem

CRYSIS WARHEAD is basically an expansion of the original game so everything I felt about that game also applies here. Even though it’s now 5 years old the game looks fantastic and has some impressive physics (apparently the CryEngine was updated for this). The story is adequate, given the limitations of a game such as this, and the voice acting is convincing throughout. The gameplay is perhaps a little more linear than in the original but it’s also faster paced and more intense. The combat is pretty tough at times, although the final boss battle was actually easier than much of what had gone before. There’s a lot packed into this short game, and that’s the only downside: it’s over way too soon.

Worse than the original game, but not by much. Still worth playing. The game was considered more "optimized" than its predecessor, on which i disagree, it just had uglier graphics. They toned them down a little because little kids with old toasters complained about their framerates. It is hilarious that back in the day, and 300+$ gpu could run it maxed out in decent resolutions, and modern day 300$ gpus have trouble running modern console ports in anything higher than 1080p maxed out. And no one complains about it. But i digress.

The game is not much differerent than the original Crysis, but i didn't like the gameplay as much. It is worth a playthrough if you own the original, otherwise, skip it and play the original first instead.

However, the whole ballistics system is on the lower end, if you've ever played a run & gun shooter, imagine that with weapons that recoil wildly. Bullets don't penetrate anything, even destructible objects need to be broken before you can hit an enemy on the other side. Shooting an enemy is very unsatisfying, they take a lot of damage, show no sign of being struck after the initial hit, and the gore is terrible, though they did put some effort to improve a lot of this from crysis, it feels the same except enemies are a little less resilient and blood tends to show a little more. The story is linear but somewhat interesting and the ai is better than most games though that doesn't say much. Overall, the best point of the game is the seemingly endless ways to take on enemies and objectives. Yes there's loading screens, but most levels are pretty big. Overall, good game but didn't impress me beyond what I expected. Expand

I only played the demo of it. I only know that you play as a different person and you're on the same island on Crysis Warhead. As you know the graphics are good. The bad thing is you have to have a SUPER gaming rig to play it on high graphics settings. If you try to play it on Windows 95 it will probably blow up. Haven't tried it yet. The graphics are good but almost any other things not (for me). Yeah, the cool feature from the original game is the cool suit. The bad thing is it is quite hard to use (except speed and muscle). I haven't finished the campaign yet so I can't say it is long or short. The sounds are quite good. The story for me isn't interesting. The game is interesting for some people but for me not. So here are the final results: Graphics: 9.5
    Story: 5
    Sounds: 7
    Gameplay: 6
