    This maybe not the best Counter Strike of the series ( in term of tournaments and competitive ), but still, CSS is very good multiplayer game. Very good graphics (for a 2004 game) and great physics system. You can play with mods, which CSS has many good mods. It's the best way to killing time, then you never get bored lol.

    It's very good.Graphic from the source engine is phantistic but CSS has a worse gameplay then 1.6.And CS1.6 is the only one.Its the most playing game on steam and thats is the reason why i give CSS only 8.

    The game has some issues with using Vista, but it's no big deal.. Vista reports that Half life has stopped responding when you close it or end game.. out side of that it runs perfectly and is on of the best games ever.. that is the only reason that i gave it a 8 and not a perfect 10 that it deserves.

    i love this game counter strikes are the best shooters ever and always will be (i hope). the only thing that brings this game down is its limited capacity of online play. sometimes you shoot someone in the head and it doesnt kill em. this only happens a few times though so i cant complain. works like a dream with linkup though the game rocksm/(o_o)m/

    Nice game, I love it, but that annoying hitbox problem should be fixed..It is funny to kill somebody while you shoot 3 meters behind him.

    Great Game. Quite some differences to the old Counterstrike but that's what makes the game something special. The only thing I claim as "not perfect" ist on the one hand that valve gave to many opportunities for config-tuning and on the other hand the support from valve conceirning bugfixes and updates.

    I think this game is fun, but the problem with it is the aiming. Shooting someone in the body and your recoil will send the bullets fairly randomly around them. On the other hand some people play enough to have found a way around that, aim at someone's feet with one gun, or 2 feet to thier left. I think that this game does not tailor to a "NooB" at all.     The only thing I don't like is not being as good as the other players and well waits after I've been kills 4 steps into the fight but with a lil single player practice you'll be slaughtering and laughing as you watch the rag dog physics slump the now mamed corpses of you or your enemies on the ground.

    It's a pretty good game. CS:S is not an addicting game but not a boring one too IM playing since 2005 and im still playing. 3 things need to be fixed. 1. Weapon damage 2. Defuse through wall. 3. Hitboxes. Gameplay is great! Good Game.

    This game has decent graphics and the gameplay is quite fun. Nothing special, especailly as it's basicly a copy of counter-strike 1.6 the original ground breaking multiplayer game. Downsides are that it seems to have problems registering bullets connecting to the other players when you have hit someone, this could be due to the hit boxes not being that accurate, but most of the time This game has decent graphics and the gameplay is quite fun.     Counter-Strike Source is the best cs game ever made but u loos the funny feeling when u and ure guys r playing for fun.
    Its almost to realistic 1.6 is crap grafics but its fun though.
    And I miss the shield :P and a couple of new weapons too.

    One of the best online multiplayer games. But sometimes the gameplay is very terrible. The Funfactor is at the beginning very well. After some houres it will be bader.

    This game is really good, I played it more than 300 hours, but when you don't train every day, you'll become a sucker, everyone can shoot you without problems and if you're sometimes angry... don't play this! The hitboxes are usually wrong, at least the graphics are great counterweight to the bugs... 8points enough to score this awsome game :-)

Good thing about this game is that, however it is competitive and hard (to be good at), you still get to train with bots before going on the net, if you're new. Because Counter-Strike is one of those games where if you've never played something in its like, you'll get blatantly headshotted again and again without remorse from other players. If you aren't careful by turning that corner, you'll also get killed easilly. CS is about speed and speed only. Players that can take out three players in less than five seconds are vital to a team, as they ensure victory. Although, shamefully... Bots are sometimes much more responsive and team-working than humans themselves. Bots come to your aid when you need backup. Humans say "Roger That!" and keep doing what they're doing.… Expand

    Great game, nice graphics, but fails to live up to the original CS. Another thing, not as many people have mastered the Source engine as the Half-Life engine, thus, there are way more custom maps for 1.6

    CS1.6 > CS:S This is a good game.. But Sadly, i'd still rather play 1.6 over it. I've been a big fan of the original HL series so naturally i love the original CS. In CSS, The graphics, physics, lighting effects are all just gimmicks imo.. 1.6 feels more comfortable when moving, shooting/killing. When you get a headshot on 1.6, there is a higher level of satisfaction WHEREAS on CS1.6 > CS:S This is a good game.. But Sadly, i'd still rather play 1.6 over it.     CS:S all together is a great, graphically stunning game. There are so many community inspired game modes it will take you a while just to play them all. The only downfall to this game is that it usually chugs if you don't have a great computer.

    CSS is a great platform for funmods and maps. BTW, mods can be easily implemented and CSS has a good downloading system for missing content. The graphics didn't take the best out of the Source Engine but the abstract GFX give every PC a chance to play CSS. Valve has invented CS again but the minimal changes left a view wishes and new game features open. But without doubt you can say CSS is a great platform for funmods and maps.     Great game, love the graphical jump they made from 1.6 However the random headshots from the newbie spray is rather annoying, though it happens. Great game guys!

    The gameplay could be better, hitboxes are a bit slow. The graphics could also be a lot better. But I give this game an 8 because im addicted to it which says a lot about the game!

    Very fun, but with little replay value, I've been playing for 4 years, and it is lacking new weapons, and maps. And most importantly... de_dust is EXTREMELY OVERPLAYED. awp annoying as well. But when its new; amazingly fun and dangerously addicting.

    Great graphics and great new and improved maps. Great buy menu features. It would be a 10 if it had the game play of 1.6. Frankly, you can kill and be killed too easily and one's actions are not as life-like.

    Pretty damn good its the best first person online shooter up to this date besides call of duty four only downside to it is that there is no single player or universal ranking system, only ranked by server.

Drawbacks ~ You have to play online meaning you can't play by yourself against a cpu unless you find a dedicated server for that. There are not a lot but there are quite a number of people who hack on the game to cheat This is an awesome and addictive game. Lots of other people to play online.     This game is pretty awesome.... but, it gets repetitive, and they still haven't removed the AWP from the category. (IMO) for this particular game, the AWP is way too over-powered for the way this game is built in statistics.

Overall can be said that CS:S is an easier and simpler version of CS 1.6. This is the reason why hardcore players still prefer CS 1.6 over CS:S as CS:S is less competitive. The game could be much more exciting and challenging with a better weapon balance, giving smart players who can make good choises a chance vs players with good aim. There is no choises and all you need is to press the autobuy button every round to stay on top. Because of this the game remains a game mainly only for teenagers. Without weapon variety there is less strategy and tactics, and the few overpowered weapons also are so called no-brainer weapons as they're THE BEST WEAPONS AT ANY RANGE. So overall the game is not demanding as you don't have to think at all things like: What weapon you get, what weapons your teammates have, what weapons your opponents have, from what range you should engage the enemy from with the weapon you have, what weapon you should choose when you go this or that route, and so on. The only reason why CS:S still keeps being played is because of the big amount of mods (most are just mods for teenagers though - nothing hardcore).… Expand

    I have been playing a long time and it is a great game. The only problem with the game is the gaming community. Pretty bad with rude people playing all the time, not to mention hackers. You have hackers in every game you play, css is just one of those that has alot.

    Graphics are nice. But competitive game play lacks skill and strategic gaming. Counter strike 1.6 is the best online competitive FPS game there is.

    Awesome game, best FPS i have ever played! But then again i only go on zombie mod, but that is a really cool mod, if you have not tried counter strike zombie mod, then why are you reading my review? PLAY IT!

    I'm not personally that keen on CS:S but I can see why it is so beloved. It has great flexibility with player made maps and models, unfortunately it gets horrifically annoying when you get blown away at the start of a mission and have to wait 5 mins until you respawn. Thankfully there are deathmatch maps with instant respawn.

    I never thought I would love a CS game this much. CS Source is really improved since CS Zero which had a lot of needs. The graphics has been improved a lot, and the overall game experience is so much better. I used to hate CS, but with this game I started to understand why its so popular.     Beautiful game. It takes a while to get used to, but when you do finally know how to play it is one of the most addictive, fun games ever created. The great clan support and dedicated servers make it the best tool for clan gaming. I will probably never let this game go.

    This is a very good game. But the hitboxes seem random and it does not have the best anti cheat engine. It has a lot of user created content. Very good teamplay.

    This game would be more enjoyable if there wasn't someone who could headshot you half a mile away with an ak 47 in every match. But it's a pretty fun game, while you're alive.

There's a steep learning curve in theAn ultimate shooter. How you play is dependent *entirely* on your technique! The maps are small enough to offer dynamic, quick engagement, yet still have multiple ways to get to the objective. The Source engine provides great lightning effects and realistic physics.     The game's all right. The lighting on the maps could be better and it's hard to tell who's your teammate from a distance. Sometimes I shoot an enemy and it seems to take forever to kill them.

    This is an amazing game. The weapons are all real, the maps are detailed, the graphics look good even though they are pretty old. Its easy to learn and its fun to think up weapon combos to fight with. For example, Dual pistols and super shotgun. There is roughly 40-ish weapons in the game. The lack of content is a bit sad. Its shorter than portal, and it has very little single player value.

    Source is incomparably better than classic cs 1.6. It just takes some time to get used to it. Nice graphics, beautiful detailed maps, better physics, excellent gameplay.

    One of the most strategic FPS games to date. The fact that you only get one life makes it all the more tactical and less of the usual run and gun. That said it can be quite difficult for beginners to get into this game because of its high difficulty.

    In this game, you can choose to be the counter-terrorist or the terrorist, both of which have their distinct differences. Let's look at the differences:
    Counter-Terrorists: They distinctly include on their inventory the overly popularized M4AI they also have other exlusive weapons and, to win, they have to defuse the bomb that terrorist planted or they can kill them all. They can be recognized by their clothing, usually wearing a helmet and an armor.
    Terrorists: They have their awesome AK 47 which is heavily used b players, they also have some exclusive weapons, and they need to plant the bomb to win or to eliminate all their enemies.
    Although it is fun, for newbies it can be punishingly difficult, being incredibly hard to master. I'm myself average at the game, but I enjoy it.
    What to say else? This game is fun, addicting and satisfying. I recommend this instead of the disappointing Global Offensive, and you won't regret it. (Final Score: 8.92)    … Expand

    Great remake. With so many mods. You never get bored. Drawbacks are the numerous cheaters that ruin public servers and some updates that force it to depend on steam. Other than that an classic what you should definitely have in your valve library.

    This game is pretty good. My first cs game. + (Unboxing can be a waste of time or something really good)
    There is a nice thing called "CS LAG". "CS LAG" is a random lag spike that stays for a couple of minutes and that is a really bad thing.

    Previously playing CS:GO, I decided to buy the predecessor to see the origins of the game and how it flourished to the caliber it is today. I was greeted with servers that are less likely to share lag spikes with everyone on the server itself, but to individual players with high pings. A ghost town already, there was abusive chat and such that you see in any game open to everyone. As the game is a ghost town by the time I write this, it is still quite enjoyable to play on a 24/7 deathmatch server and just muck around with the different guns.
    Back to it being a ghost town again. Just like CS:GO, the community is wild, unregulated and very salty due to the lack of common people with administrative power (other than server owners).    … Expand

    This game is really fun and intense to play with i remember playing this game with my friends. It's a test of speed and reaction. Most of maps are really nice and easy-to-learn.

    This game would get a higher score IF there were a competitive mode AND a quick-play/casual mode.
    Other than that, it's a really good game if your laptop/pc can't handle Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

    My favorite multiplayer shooting game.
    Great mechanics and provide a high learning curve for the player.
    Detailed weapons as well.

The Terrorists have to plant the bomb and successfully detonate it to win, but the Counter-Terrorists have to defuse it to win. Both forces can also win by killing the full opposing team of five Counter-Terrorists or Terrorists.

    Counter Strike Source is one and the same CS, only the Source engine is used here and the graphics are improved 4 times. Of course, this game is no different from CS 1.6, but the physics, lighting, graphics and textures, shooting are improved here. Suitable for replacing CS GO, it's just a pity that people play little CS Source

    Sorce was different type in series. it was more difficult but when comparing call of duty, it gives better multiplayerunlike Zero. So I like it.

    Few players are just as bored with the time of the game, but it is very incredible personally I enjoyed spending time with this game.

    Source engine was something insane back in the time of release but I still prefered CS 1.6 over this for some reason.

    Played as a kid and it is really fun in a casual setting, not really that competitive but it depends on the people you play with.

I like some mods it good but it not hack at all it just make you gun look different!     Good graphics, solid platform and server browsing. Gameplay is solid enough, at its core its the same, but then engine lends itself to poor hit detection. The rampant hacking and immature nature of the community bring the experience down. Overall a good, quick online shooter that lacks in depth.

    This game offers excellent time wastage, giving good players excitement and fun. If your new, stick to it because in a few months you might start enjoying it as well. Very dissapointed with the Physics engine, bouncing off barrels and cabinets, not to mention being able to campin in one. I find the game is extremely laggy and registering my shots is unbearably painfull. Flashbangs blind This game offers excellent time wastage, giving good players excitement and fun. I now enjoy this game becuase I have played it so much, but I was very close many times to just deleting it and watching tv. Anti cheat is good, Anti hack is better, raciscm and derogitry remarks should be banable and inexcusable. Out of the many fps shooters I have played, this one is fantastic, yet it can still leave me very, very dissapointed. I'm glad I purchased it though.… Expand

    Although superb graphics and the gameplay from counter-strike is retained, the game movements in counters-strike source is not as smooth as counter-strike, where animations and movements are rather stiff, and the realism in graphics could be a drag for some slower PCs and for online play.

    I think its a 7 because tbh its a really good game but it can have a lot more stuff added into it. This game would be perfect if it had some features like the ones in a game called warrock (im not saying all) but like the ability to prone and ability to lean so its harder to shoot someone sounds pretty cool.     CS:Source is a fun game, spectacular graphics.. But-Physical object are bugged (ex: Stand on a physical barrel you'll fall into it and the barrel will tip over.) NOOBS CAN PLAY THIS GAME WELL! Just a quick heads up if you're not a quick shot or a good one some noob will probably "run & spray" and take you down, or they'll crouch and the horrible recoil and spray in this CS:Source is a fun game, spectacular graphics..     Graphics are pretty good. the rego or hitbox sucks really bad and it really needs to be fixed. Theres a alot of other ppl that go WTF when they miss when they was on the dot for a headshot. I think the counter strike source hacks make the game how it should be , like the aimbot and no recoil and u hit where ur aiming. Fuc game but its really unrealistic and hard to hit where u want.     Been playin bout 18 months now, not a bad game not fantastic either. Weapon accuracy sux ass summit rotten for a start... but when ya get the hang of it it becomes... acceptable. nice graphics, nice feel to the engine although HDR is a pointless waste of fps in my opinion. Hit boxes really REALLY blow, way to laggy. valve need to do summit with ther anti cheat software too... uber h4xz0rz Been playin bout 18 months now, not a bad game not fantastic either.     Valve has done a sterling job of moving a flagship franchise over to a new engine. Whilst the gameplay guts come over correct and intact, (which may disappoint some), Counter-Strike: Source is an even more engrossing and captivating experience, capable of sapping hours of your time, and even the worst "1337 g33zers" abusing voice chat can't spoil the fun you'll have with it.

    Counter-Strike: Source is, once you've gained a knack for it, the most consistently rewarding and surprising team-based shoot-'em-up available on the PC today. It's been dressed up nicely for its relaunch in 2004, but it wasn't broken, and Valve hasn't fixed it.
