Keen, after taking a short nap, blasts across the brain-bending expanse of space between Earth and Vorticon VI. The Vorticons will be lying in wait, their wicked weapons bristling with pent-up energy, with only one thought on their minds...

As Commander Keen, you must make your way through all the perils of Vorticon VI and discover the secret of the Grand Intellect. The Vorticon elder aboard the mothership told you two things. One, the Vorticons are not evil--the Grand Intellect is controlling them with "Mind-belts." and two, the Grand Intellect is from Earth! Who could he be?

What can you say about a classic such as this one? Keen featured really neat game dynamics and intelligent level design. Think about it - it's extremely hard to make involving levels in just 2 Dimensions. Yet Commander Keen accomplishes it in an exeplary way.
Fun to play, fun to watch :) not sure if Keen 3 is my favorite (i tend to gravitate toward the later iterations) but this sequel made some very good innovative improvements. Once again - not much room in a 2D game for that - yet the dev's pulled it!
