The fact that Kenzo is alive is due to a set of circumstances. He was artificially grown after the apocalypse by Acine, an assistant AI, deep underground in an isolated place called CELL. It was meant to be a secure residential complex for the powers that were. The one Kenzo lives in was never completed. It is barely operational. He doesn't even know why he's there, as he's not authorized to possess that information. He had limited opportunities to socialize and receive education through social simulations and Acine, but it’s not enough to maintain his mental stability. He seems to be okay, but he’s not. And as much as he'd like to meet anyone alive, is he truly ready for it?
Why is he there? What happened, and does it still matter? And what is it like - to live in a world of non-user-centric programs?
