  • Summary: The award-winning game Cateau is a visually, musically, and narratively beautiful experience. Enter the enchantingly atmospheric streets of Paris, getting to know truly distinct characters while every choice you make, whether big or small, carries weight and consequence in this little adventure.

Those with a love of visual novels, good art, or fur babies will enjoy Cateau. Though it ends far too soon, it provides a wholesome romp filled with three distinct personalities.

    Overall: 7/10
Recommended: sure (cute, free, and quick, but try to get the "true" ending on the 2nd playthru instead of all the CG's)

    Overall: 7/10
Recommended: sure (cute, free, and quick, but try to get the "true" ending on the 2nd playthru instead of all the CG's)
Time to complete story: about 45 mins (Med-Fast read speed)
    Time to 100%: 2 hr 45 mins (4 playthru's, all 9 CG's, all 4 endings, ~90-95% of dialogue read)
Controller compatible: no (had to use my KBM to gamepad configuration)

    Story: 7/10
~ several choices to make, with decent dialogue and interactions
~ immediate feedback on the impact of choices on the kitties, but not your friend
~ not fully sure, but I think that the endings may be mostly affected by the final choice with each cat instead of a sum of the choices
    Characters: 7/10
    Graphics: 7.5/10
    Audio: 7.5/10
    + nice French-themed music
+ some sounds for the background and activities happening
    UI: 6/10
~ you can quit and resume from the current scene
    - no save slots, which makes going back for the other endings and CG's a bit annoying
